    Overview

    Tregurrian is great for watersports and those looking for a seaside holiday.


    Camp at our Tregurrian Club campsite and you’ll be spoilt for choice of beaches to visit. There are fourteen close to our stunning campsite in North Cornwall, located just north of the popular seaside town of Newquay.


    Watergate Bay is the closest and is a short walk from the campsite along the South West Coastal Path. This two-mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families. The Atlantic swell here also makes it equally appealing to watersport lovers. The beach hosts annual surfing events too.


    Surfers will also be drawn to Newquay for Fistral Beach which also hosts a number of events through the summer including surf championships, a fun dog show and the popular Boardmasters event which includes skate and BMX competitions, live music and competitive surfing. Other attractions of the town include Newquay Zoo, and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway and you could spot seals and dolphins in the harbour.


    Our pretty Tregurrian campsite offers 90 level pitches. The well thought out site has immaculate facilities including a handy wetsuit shower.


    A few miles up the coast Padstow has some excellent restaurants, including one owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein while Watergate Bay is home to Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall Restaurant.

    Worth Noting

    There is a wetsuit shower on site. Watergate Bay Beach is just 0.75 miles away and is dog-friendly all year round.

    Eat Local

    Organic strawberries are available in season and Bre-Pen Farm Shop, located a few miles from the site, sells local Cornish produce. Many local restaurants serve local produce, including seafood.

    Watergate Bay Beach

    Along the coastline of North Cornwall, there are a number of spectacular beaches, including the wonderful Watergate Bay. Situated around 3 miles north of Newquay, Watergate boasts golden sand, glistening waves and verdant hills.

    Eden Project

    Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world, wander around 20 acres of gardens and discover over 3,000 varieties of plant at the Eden Project. Uncover mankind’s relationship with plant life in this dramatic global garden housed in a crater the size of 30 football pitches.

    Lost Gardens of Heligan

    Awarded ‘Garden of the Year in 2013’, the Lost Gardens of Heligan offer 200 acres of exotic gardens to explore. Twenty-five years ago, Heligan’s historic gardens were unknown and unseen; lost under a tangle of weeds. It was only the chance discovery of a door in the ruins that led to the restoration of this once great estate.

    Tintagel Castle

    Widely thought to be the King Arthur’s elusive Camelot, Tintagel Castle is a medieval fortress perched on the edge of a sea cliff on the rugged northern coast of Cornwall.
