Bayonne and Biarritz
Southwest Coast map
A surfer’s paradise, Biarritz is known as the surf capital of France. Being near to the Spanish border you’ll find a real mix of culture and flavour throughout the Basque country. Enjoy the best of both worlds as the Pyrénées plunge into the sea and the ocean piles into the corner of the Bay of Biscay. The Basque coast is culturally unique and a perfect natural mix.
The spacious site at Lou P’tit Poun offers peace and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. It has great pool facilities and the Basque country’s bustling beaches and resorts are close to hand. The range of other facilities here include a swimming pool, paddling pool and a bar & restaurant.
In a great location, with the beaches of Biarritz close to hand (they are just 500 yards away); the site at Ilbarritz has a new outdoor pool with water slides. A wide range of other on site facilities and entertainment are available and the village of Bidart is just one mile away.
The friendly site at Larrouleta is just two miles from the beach and it is ideally placed for exploring the Basque region. There’s also a swimming pool and lake swimming at this well equipped site.
Set in the heart of the Basque country, Col d’Ibardin provides a great spot for enjoying all the amenities of a quality campsite whilst only being a short distance from the beach. The site organises walks into the nearby forests and mountains and for fantastic views of the Pyrenees and the coast, why not take the train on the rack railway from Ascain to the top of La Rhune mountain – the highest peak in the Basque country.
