Barnard Castle - known as 'Barney' to the locals - is the nearest town to this lovely campsite with its pitches are clustered in small areas, making it feel even more special. It makes a good base for exploring Teesdale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, as well as being a haven for walkers and cyclists.
Cobleland - Trossachs , Gartmore, Stirlingshire, FK8 3RR. - Camping by the banks of the picturesque Forth
Surrounded by majestic oak trees and situated right on the banks of the river Forth, Cobeland lets you holiday in the heart of Scotland’s first National Park. This idyllic camping site is set amid the forest and rugged mountains of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, which offers a wealth of outdoor activities in a picturesque setting. Those with an adventurous nature will love the opportunities to explore the forest’s many footpaths and cycle paths as well as trying orienteering or going boating or canoeing at one of the nearby Lochs. If you would prefer a more relaxing break - there are plenty of picnic sites, fishing opportunities and walks through the forest where you see some of the Park’s fantastic wildlife including Red Squirrels.
Sat Nav direction advice: Coming from the Glasgow direction only - ignore the first sign for Gartmore Village and carry on along the A81 until they see a second sign for Cobleland/Gartmore on the left.
