We were orignally meant to stay at Holmsley, but we were called up to advise moving to hollands wood as there had been an incident. I was dissapointed but these things can't be helped. One thing to note is that this site is right next to a main road, so take ear plugs! Not on soft ground, in the trees as it were. However, facilites are excellent but very open so take windbreakers for bit of privacy.

Expensive, crammed & noisy. There is a 5mph speed limit on site that people don't keep which scared me for the amount of children riding bikes. I definitely won't be coming back to this site as there are much better and cheaper sites in the New Forest.

A beautiful large site with friendly staff, clean facilities.
It was our first visit to this site with 2 young children. Seeing the ponies and cows roaming the site was truely great.
The site was full to capacity being peak season, there were a lot of kids riding bikes round the site mostly without supervision and sometimes without any road sense.
The site is supposed to be quiet by 10.30pm but was very noisey everynight until very late. But was a great break away and we would return but proberly not during the peak season.

This was our first time camping over a weekend and at Hollands Wood. The staff were very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. We were able to pick our pitch amongst the oak trees and share the camp site with the wild ponies and local wildlife. We have three dogs, and the new forest was less than a minute walk to the stunning countryside. The site offers wildlife walks and talks for families and younger children. We would definitely come again.

Hollands Wood is a beautiful campsite just off the M27. Right in the heart of the forest you can camp amongst the trees in small glades. The toilets and shower blocks are excellent and cleaned regularly. There's an office at the front gate where you can recharge batteries and phones. Shops, pubs etc are nearby in Brockenhurst and Lymington. The whole site is very safe for younger children. It's peaceful, beautiful and easy to get to. A really wonderful camping holiday.

We love this site and have been a number of times over the years. Great to just pitch up and walk straight into the Forest, pubs are great in Brockenhurst about 10 mins walk through the fields. Facilities are great, even a dog shower, no electric, but great to be without the TV for a few nights.

Lovely site, visited last year with hubby when touring in parents motorhome,Can't wait to take children there this year in caravan just for them to see pony's. Toilet and showers were great and very clean, lovely to choose your own pitch in woods (though to stay longer would really like electric no problem in motorhome as had solar power). Would recommend.

Very busy site on bank holiday, goes back at least a mile, plenty of shower & toilet facilities, Brockenhurst in walking distance however would not recommend walking back when dark. Security access to site. no electrical hook up as ponies run wild through campsite.
