Just spent 3 days on site. Loverly site clean and friendly. Only downfall is no coffee shop/restaurant if you wanted to have a break from cooking. There was a man who comes Wednesday and Saturday with his trailer selling Jacket Potatoes and breakfast rolls but not to everyones taste. Was told that there is a pub a miles away and on a straight road but this was not so, it was not safe to walk because no path for first part of journey and it was a busy road. Also it was over a mile and hilly. Will visit again with family and friends. its a good site other than our little moans above.

The site was very easy to find, clean and tidy and the pitches were nicely spread. Lovely little dog walking area. Showers are not coin operated which is excellent although unfortunately my shower started warm and ended cold, but my husband had no such problem. Would definitely recommend this site.

What an amazing site. The staff were both helpful and very friendly.
The facilities were excellent and a credit to the on site staff being very clean and of a high standard (we were using the smaller of the two facility blocks - the main block, although a bit of a walk from where we were pitched, were fantastic).
We were there during the Royal wedding and the owners put on a party and BBQ that evening. The site staff organised games and activities over the bank holidays for all the children which saw high participation from the fellow campers. The owners then organised a walk through the woods, pointing out interesting flowers and a pool of newts.
The site is probably nearer to Lyme Regis than Charmouth but there is so much for you to see and do (when we could get our daughter off the extensive play area!!).
Will most definitely be visiting again.

Easy access just off the A35. Friendly welcome on arrival and we were given a choice of pitches. Be warned -if you decide to choose a pitch under the trees in October expect to be bombarded with leaves twigs, and acorns like we were. It did give us a few scares at first but we got used to it after a while :-)
All in all a lovely site, excellent location for Dorset and east Devon and friendly staff. Cracking pub just a mile up the road Hunters Lodge. Nice pint and one of the best stakes I've had in a while. Dog friendly too.

Monkton Wylde is a fabulous site, the amenities are spotless the staff are so helpful and the pitches are superb. Close to Charmouth, Lyme Regis etc and the Jurassic Coast is well worth a visit at any time. Two people and three dogs spent one fabulous night camping on this site and thoroughly enjoyed it will be back for more next year . Highly Recomended, give it a try.

The site was very clean, well organised and friendly. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this site as our stayed was spoilt by barking dogs. The area we were allocated also had 7 dogs in close proximity, one of the caravans housed no less than FOUR dogs which yapped continuously throughout the day so we were unable enjoy what should have been very peaceful surroundings. These 4 dogs were not always kept on their leads either, which was supposed to be the camp rule. So unless you are an avid dog lover and just want a peaceful break away then don't both with this site because you will be very disappointed as we were. Such a shame a good site completely spoilt by selfish dog owners.

As first time visitors to this site, we found it very good. The Wardens were extremely helpful and polite, the washing facilities and toilets were kept very clean and were nicely tiled and always spotless. The shop was well stocked with minor goodies; more serious shopping could be done in Axminster, a couple of miles away. The only drawback was the rather soggy weather, as it was September and the tail end of a hurricane from the US, and our pitch got muddy. The wardens came up with an excellent solution by putting down a layer of fine gravel to soak up the mud; well done, the wardens. I would definately return to this site in better weather. A great time was had and the countryside is magnificent.

Lovely site which is very well maintained. It was after the school term had started so the site was extremely quiet by day and night. Despite the high winds it was quite sheltered. The site was in a great place for exploring the Dorset coast especially the Jurassic coast.

What can I say, Brilliant. Spent just under two weeks here at the back end of July. We booked a little late so opted for one of the All Weather Pitches, which as it turns out are excellent. The base being predominantly chalk meant that the pegs had top be put in a little harder than when on grass, but apart from that there was no issue with erecting our tent. The other good thing about the All Weather Pitches is that they are in I would describe as a cul-de-sac. We had pitch 37 (which was huge) which was tucked away in the corner, which was excellent as our 3 year old daughter could run around to her hearts content without the worry of passing cars. As is expected the toilet facilities were excellent, probably the best we’ve been to, spotlessly clean and a good size. We had use of the parent and child room also which again was very nice.
The staff were always very helpful and polite and always seemed very busy. The only negative we would give is that it does get very busy and on more that one occasion we had to queue for the showers, but that being said we would not hesitate in going back. All in all probably the best C & CC site we have been to.

Spacious with lots of hedges to reduce wind and increase privacy. Good play areas, with very clear signs to prevent teenagers from loitering on them until the early hours. The only really irritating late night noise was from an older group in a pair of caravans who kept talking loudly well into the night - around midnight before they finished drinking and laughing. Shame so much of the site is now caravan friendly but not tent friendly. It would be nice if the Club would remember that Camping is the first word in its name, not Caravanning.
Lovely clean loos etc, a reasonable distance to walk but not as bad as some sites. Site is divided by a caravan storage park, but there seemed to be quite a number of empty vans on pitches too. Either that or they were very quiet people indeed! We walked from the site to Lyme using the walk-cards you can borrow from reception, it was lovely, and caught a bus back - we knew it would be still quite a long walk from the bus stop to site, but couldn't get a taxi, Lyme's taxi companies were over-stretched that day.
Charmouth fossil walks from the Heritage centre are wonderful, they helped us find lots of lovely ammonites and belemnites etc.
I've no idea why the club calls it Charmouth site though, it's actually much closer to Lyme Regis!

2 adults, 2 kids & 1 dog for 1 week in August: Lovely site and very well laid out. Pitches are huge. Had hard standing for 1st time. Was pitched at front of site near to road so had a lot of noise but no problem to us as we were in and out. This is a huge site but it doesnt feel like it because you are in small private fields. However for a site of this size you would expect more showers - only 5 on our side, but they were clean, hot and regulated. Shop well stocked with camping gear but slightly disappointed with food section, small selection of chilled/frozen etc. Site well placed for Lyme Regis and Charmouth but nothing immediately near to site. The nearest pub, Hunters Lodge, is 1 mile walking and would recommend. Food great and you can take your dog in aswell. One small criticism is that this site is not well sign posted - but I think this goes for all CCC in general. Please read the instructions on the "directions" page when visiting. Dog walk very nice - small wooded area. Playing area for kids brilliant - so I am told by my daughter, lol... Would go again!

Charmouth is the site we visit the most.
It was the first C&CC site we used, in a tent, but we have since changed to a caravan.
The site has maintained its standards and service on every visit. The layout and pitches are both great: there is plenty of space and the site is divided by hedges so you never feel it is such a big site.
Staff are always helpful - the facilities are always immaculate.
The site is centrally located for exploring beautiful west dorset and wonderful east devon.
This site owners - organised a bluebell walk for all guests during our stay. This was a lovely walk with the owners and wardens and our kids really enjoyed the pond dipping.
The site continues to develop - with the additon of the holiday homes.
There does seem to be more hard standing pitches now, showing the site is perhaps more geared towards caravans and motorhomes. With few level pitches left for tents.
During the last couple of visits we have noticed that many of the pitches are occupied by seasonal vans, yet these were not occupied during our stay. I prefer to tour, I know each to their own, but its a shame that so many pitches are under used and prevent others from visiting.
I suspect if all the pitches were occupied then the number of showers could be a problem on one side of the site.
The childrens play area is large with climbing frame, slide, swings, football pitch. There are plenty of pitches have a good view of the park - so you can keep an eye on your little ones.
The site feels very safe and secure.

First time campers with our two daughters aged 3 and 6. Had a wonderful time. Staff are really helpful and accommodating. We had a tent on the field and I would recommend this to those with little ones as there is no worries about cars. you can send them to throw the rubbish or fill up the water and you can easily see them. They just run free. Showers and loos are clean and tidy. Was really happy and had the time of my life! Will go back for sure. Even has a little forest kids can run about in.

Lovely site, very helpful (even supplied additional wooden ramps when I couldn't get level - old fridge insists!), really clean facilities (even when we arrived late evening). Play facilities. Nice size pitches. Thanks to different fields and sections, never felt crowded even though fully booked. Will definitely go back. Only downside is that it isn't really practical to walk anywhere from the site (travelling alone with young child) so always had to drive, but well placed for driving to lots of locations.

A great site that we will return too. The pitches did slope slightly but what was most frustrating was the amount of caravans that are obviously left pitched for the season with no-one staying in them. The toilet block was quite a walk away but considering we were near the play park we didn't have the issue of children screaming till late in the evening as the rules were well signposted. Wardens were all friendly and considering it was the half term holidays the park was quiet. This maybe due to the amount of pitches though that were obviously taken by others but not being used.

Just returned from this fantastic site
The pitches are spacious the toilets, showers, washing up rooms etc. were always kept extremely clean (5 STAR) The staff are excellent and could'nt do enough for you
The site is set in a beautiful part of the country
The only downfall in our opinion is you have to rely to much on using the car
It is neither walking nor cycling friendly. It lacks footpaths or cycle lanes and the roads are far to steep (unless you are in training for the TOUR DE FRANCE)

We have visited this site for about the last 3 or 4 years for the May/June Half term. The site is lovely and well taken care of. The dog facilities and kids playing areas are really good. The main facilities at the entrance are lovely.
Sadly, however, we were over on the Wylde side of the park. The facilities there are not so good. They are clean but is a shame they are not the same quality. I really missed having a cubicle for tooth brushing etc, it is very difficult to do it where people are washing their hands after a "visit".
New holiday homes were in place this year near the entrance and I felt this was a bit of a shame as I think they were not being used and further work was being done to the area - the caravans seem to be taking over the site, leaving the tent users with sloped pitches and further away from the facilities.
One of the black spots was that there was a dog in one of the caravans that did rather alot of barking during the day (It was a staff members dog) It was a shame as it did interrupt the peace, and when it was mentioned the staff member he did not take it well and told us we were lying. However, they did stop it barking for the rest of the holiday.
We have always enjoyed our time there and may return next year, but hopefully in a different place. It is a beautiful place to visit and visits to Charmouth Beach and West Bay are a must. There are some nice markets and car boot's to visit too !

We have stayed at this site 3 times now and it is our favourite site. The site was reccommended to us last year when we were about to embark on our first camping trip. The welcome was very friendly and we have always had a decent pitch. The facilities are well planned and very clean, the showers have there own temperature controls. The woodland walk is well worth walking round with or without a dog and we like the way the pitches are in sections making a big site feel more intimate. The shop sells any basic foods you may require and nothing seems to much trouble. A site that keeps calling us to come back.

What a beautiful campsite, lovely location, close to Lyme Regis and in a great part of the country. The local pub on Raymonds Hill is family run, very nice food, families and dogs welcome, 1 mile walk from campsite, most of it on pavement. The site is well spaced out and mostly sunny. Shower block modern and very clean. Very nice welcome and would recommend. Where we were situated in our pop top was a little noisy at night as it was quite close to a fairly fast road, however when we book again we will ask for another location as there are acres to choose from. Lyme Regis lovely place to visit, plenty to do for everyone, you can walk if you wish. Charmouth quaint and sweet, close to lots of holiday attractions, although you will have to go by car. Site great for families as well as couple looking for a relaxing break in a gorgeous part of Dorset.

We have stayed at this site for the last 2 years and on both occasions it has been great. The site is superbly well run and organised as you would expect. Whilst it is reasonably large does feel more private due to the layout and number of hedges etc that split up the pitches. The only negative (and it is being a little picky) would be the facilites block on the Wylde side of the site which only has 2 showers (Mens) which can make it a little awkward at busy times.
To put it in perspective we nearly booked for here for a 3rd year this July but, with some regret, are now going elsewhere......Go and have a look, we will be again and you will love it!

Clean, spacious and modern with fantastic pitches and facilities. Would definately stay again if it wasnt so far. Minor point: Site wifi is rubbish, so dont bother.
Its high up so can get early morning mist off the sea.

Lovely clean site with outstanding friendly reception.
The only thing that spoilt it for us significantly was one particular unit obviously owned by a member who spends some time there every year who was up till midnight with friends in the awning making a large amount of noise that disturbed everyone around. It was reported but not acted on quickly enough and we would suggest this needs attention as noise should stop after 11.00 pm latest and actually does not have to be invasive at all. A real shame as the site is wonderful in every other aspect.
