What a lovely 5 star site, from the minute we arrived we were made very welcome by everyone we met. Even though they were very busy it didn't feel crowded at all due to the large pitches and feeling of space. An ideal place for walkers and dogs.
Lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. Great fish and chips on a Tuesday and Baked potatoes on a Saturday.
Would definitely recommend this site to anyone and have already booked a return stay.

A good site with clean facilities, friendly staff and a nice dog walk. Not much in the immediate area although Axminster is just 4km away. The nearest pub/restaurant is within walking distance, it is a bit of a dive but serviceable. The surrounding area is very hilly so no good for leisure biking. Handy for the coast although most of the beaches are pebbles.

We found the site far to big it was a long trek to the facilities . We had to pay for WIFI connection £15 for the week and then it was a poor connection also poor TV signal, staff not too friendly, wouldn't go again.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples
This is the 1st club site we have used as new members. Our easter break was a real hit thanks to the site and staff. We took part in the site Easter egg hunt with our Daughter and our lab Woody, The woodland dog walking area on site was a treat as at night the trees have fairy lights in them. In short if this is the standard of club sites then we will be active members for a very long time.

The staff were great and the site and facilities spotless.
The hard standing pitches were large, in fact much more than I needed and came with electric hook up which was again of little use to me as I don't have this facility.
Ideal site if you have a large unit or a caravan but a bit soulless and could do with some character.
A good place as a base but too far from local amenities to walk to them so come equipped.
DATE STAYED: March 2009
By not pre-booking there was no hardstanding available and we were on a grass pitch (not a problem) BUT the grass cutting had not been collected and this caused a lot of unnecessary mess. Otherwise a superb site.

Very nice campsite, well organised, well managed and friendly staff. The campsite contained great facilities and an excellent shop / play area.
A shame toilets / showers are shut at usage peak times and are few in number.
Cleanliness was A1 as were washing up facilities.
The downside - as a camper we were not allowed to camp on the grass!!! I have never experienced this at a campsite before. Instead you are made to camp on sharp gravel which damaged our latest tent and was very uncomfortable to walk on inside the tent. If you want to camp as nature intended - on grass - this is not a campsite for you - NOT GEARED-UP FOR TENTS. A big shame. I am surprised that this is approved practice for a club that promotes camping.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break
superb site overall, good shop and facilities, wardens are the best. We stayed 16 nights with some wet weather but certainly didn't dampen the spirit. Loads to do on and around the Jurassic Coast. We had a great time, 4 of us in 2 units and so many friendly people to chat to. Would recommend this site to anyone
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
Our stay was august bank holiday week, two adults and two children in a tent. Warm welcome on arrival. Given pitch 140, a sloping pitch, however warden told us would be a good pitch during the stormy weather (which was expected) as it had a small bushy area next to it and this would protect us from the storm. Unfortunately the pitch was the wrong side of the bush in terms of protection as the weather came from the opposite direction. At one point we had a river running through our tent and underneath it. On departure, there was a boggy, smelly, very muddy mess underneath our groundsheet. In addition - the bushy area next to our tent turned out to be 'a den' used excessively by a handful of other children at all hours. The toilet block was rather small for the number of pitches that it serviced. There was one family room, two showers and four toilets. The block closed for cleaning at 10.30am meaning the only toilet available during cleaning was in the family room and very often this was engaged with people having showers. The three hand basins were used for teeth brushing, hair brushing etc as well as hand washing and became very cramped on occasion. I do not normally leave reviews, however felt that this information needed to be posted. This is an honest review regarding the site during our visit.
DATE STAYED: August 2012

very nice site, friendly and clean, two toilet blocks, one a bit tired but the other is newer with more showers.lots of space between the pitches.decent road of the a35 to the site but follow the brown camping signs on the a35 not monkton wyld farm.....too narrow.not much in charmouth but lyme regis is worth a visit. use the park and ride as town parking is difficult.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Very friendly and helpful staff. Although quite a large site the pitches are very spacious and we had a very relaxed and peaceful break. Facilities were well maintained and very clean. The shop was well stocked and reasonable prices. About a mile away is Raymonds Hill which is on a main route for bus services to Axminster, Lyme Regis etc. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
The site offers a friendly welcome together with a well-stocked shop for additional basic supplies. In addition there was plenty information available as to what was going on in the local area. One other factor worth note is the size of the showers. They are relatively large and are ideal if are taking children to shower as well. So many of the CCC sites have shower cubicles that are designed for one, but each of the five showers in the main block offered a decent sized bench for you to place your child, towels and wash bags. Numerous hooks also aid the process.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break
Fantastic site. Staff were welcoming and helpful. It is a big site but felt small as each 12 or 13 pitches are sectioned off and we had a huge lawn area in front of our pitch where children could play safely. Shower/toilet blocks kept very clean and showers are fantastic. Laundry area good with 2 rotary airers outside. Whole site clean and well cared for. There was a storm in our second week and our awning fell down (we had gone out for the day) but the staff had gone round the whole site checking on things and put our awning back up for us, thanks so much for that. The dog walk is a little small but very handy but we were told of a great area to exercise the dogs off lead about 3 miles from the site. The fish & chip van visits every Wednesday from 5.30pm which is very handy and sells burgers, pies and sausages too, there is also a hot potato van which comes round every Saturday from 5pm. The only couple of small nigly things is that it is some way from Charmouth and not on the coast as Charmouth is and also the sign at the entrance to the site could be a bit more on the road (we drove past it the first time and had to reverse with the caravan) and there isn't a sign when you come from the opposite direction. Again a fantastic site where everything seems to have been thought about - even overnight parking if you intend to stay out after 11pm when gates are locked, there is parking where you can leave your car until the next morning. Thank you again for a great 2 weeks.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We have just spent a week at this site. From arrival to departure we had 5 star treatment. Wardens and staff were very friendly, especially Terry who would always stop and ask how we were and was everything ok.
The facilities were excellent and kept to a high standard. We would recommend this site and definitely will be going back.
Within easy reach of some beautiful coastline and countryside.
My only niggle is that I would of liked a bigger area to exercise our dog.
DATE STAYED: July 2012
Arrived in the middle of the floods. Very friendly wardens who showed us to our pitch in the pouring rain. Stayed 5 nights. Jurasic coast is not to be missed. Forde Abbey and Monkey world are both definatley worth a visit. A very enjoyable stay and will definately be back
We arrived after 7.00pm on the Friday and found a note pinned on the notice board telling us where to pitch, this was not a problem and the next morning we went to the office to confirm our arrival and settle our account, it was all very efficient and welcoming, we were also given good advice on where to go for the day, and had a lovely day in Bridport only 10 miles away from the camp.
The camp site was very clean and very pretty, all the facilities you need are there and the shower block was the best I have seen, for a quiet peaceful weekend away, it was perfect.
Whilst we did not need it, if I had ruined dinner on Saturday night there was a Hot Potato van on site which did smell very inviting.
Would we go again? definitely and would we recommend it? absolutely.
DATE STAYED: June 2012
We went as a group of 3 parties and were put together which was nice.
It's a nice site, good facilities and would reccomend to friends.
However a few niggles were that we were put onto a pitch that was already boggy and had huge slugs and frogs as visitors which wasnt nice. And when went to pack up the pitch was flooded underneath and hadnt drained away.
Also the hedge cutting got a bit too much as for the two weeks we were there it seemed to be constant every day and wouldnt recommend if you wanted peace and quite.
So now thatwe have a caravan, we would possibly book this site again on the hard standing and hopefully the hedge cutting would be kept to a minimum.

Had an excellent stay in May. We had stayed on this site about 11 years ago, and many changes have taken place. Most pitches are in small clusters and have hedges around, so although a big site you do not notice this. Facilities are amongst the best - shower cubicles have enough room to swing 10 cats!! Good for walking, public transport, bit of walk to bus stop. Well stocked shop, fish and chip van and hot potato, breakfast van visited. Will definitely revisit.
DATE STAYED: May 2012
Stayed at the site during June half term break, but had to go home after two nights due to awful weather! A bit disappointed in the fact that even though I had booked a standard tent pitch well in advance, we were dumped in the "Camping Field" (overflow area) which was a rather long walk through a dark woods to the toilets etc (not advisable late at night without a torch, especially with children.) Despite this, the site was well looked after and the toilets were well maintained, despite the awful weather. We were glad that we left when we did as the camping field is rather exposed and was already turning into a quagmire due to the heavy rain.
We found the local pub, about a 1 mile walk, although the first part isn't great as it is along the road with no footpath. The pub was good as we could take the dog & children in. We were planning a walk to Lyme Regis, but the weather got the better of us.
All in all, quite a good site, ideal for exploring Charmouth & Lyme Regis, hopefully if we return the bad weather won't!
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Active break
On arrival the site looked very neat and the staff were very helpful. We had booked a jumbo pitch which was not the easiest to get onto, but once on everything was fine. Although the site was nice, unfortunately the toilet / shower blocks were not, every time we needed to use them we had to queue up, and they were not clean, there simply is not enough to cope with the number of pitches on the site, we were close to a shower block that only had 2 toilets and 2 showers that need updating which were servicing a huge number of pitches, the main block was better but a bit of a walk to get to, and still found ourselves waiting to use the facilities. Doubt we will be going back. However location was excellent for visiting the surrounding area, Lyme Regis, Poole, Weymouth and Bournemouth.

Stayed at this site for 3 days in May. Initial impression were that it was very neat and tidy and this was borne out over our stay. The pitches are all of good size and are very well laid out to maximise the views. the grounds were immaculate and all the facilities were kept to the same standard. A leisurely stroll around the campsite identified a wide range of different pitches that we would love to come back and try. The staff could not have been more helpful and there was a wide range of activities in the area to keep us occupied. Would definitely recommend this site and it will not be long before we are back again.
very friendly, everything was very clean, very quite, will possably stay here agian then weather was good.
the only bad point was the tolets could have been closer
DATE STAYED: April 2012
Just spent 3 days on site. Loverly site clean and friendly. Only downfall is no coffee shop/restaurant if you wanted to have a break from cooking. There was a man who comes Wednesday and Saturday with his trailer selling Jacket Potatoes and breakfast rolls but not to everyones taste. Was told that there is a pub a miles away and on a straight road but this was not so, it was not safe to walk because no path for first part of journey and it was a busy road. Also it was over a mile and hilly. Will visit again with family and friends. its a good site other than our little moans above.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples
Very nice site but made the mistake of staying a couple of nights over Easter so lots of children on site!! Dog walk very good.
The site was very easy to find, clean and tidy and the pitches were nicely spread. Lovely little dog walking area. Showers are not coin operated which is excellent although unfortunately my shower started warm and ended cold, but my husband had no such problem. Would definitely recommend this site.
DATE STAYED: March 2012
What an amazing site. The staff were both helpful and very friendly.
The facilities were excellent and a credit to the on site staff being very clean and of a high standard (we were using the smaller of the two facility blocks - the main block, although a bit of a walk from where we were pitched, were fantastic).
We were there during the Royal wedding and the owners put on a party and BBQ that evening. The site staff organised games and activities over the bank holidays for all the children which saw high participation from the fellow campers. The owners then organised a walk through the woods, pointing out interesting flowers and a pool of newts.
The site is probably nearer to Lyme Regis than Charmouth but there is so much for you to see and do (when we could get our daughter off the extensive play area!!).
Will most definitely be visiting again.
DATE STAYED: April 2011
Easy access just off the A35. Friendly welcome on arrival and we were given a choice of pitches. Be warned -if you decide to choose a pitch under the trees in October expect to be bombarded with leaves twigs, and acorns like we were. It did give us a few scares at first but we got used to it after a while :-)
All in all a lovely site, excellent location for Dorset and east Devon and friendly staff. Cracking pub just a mile up the road Hunters Lodge. Nice pint and one of the best stakes I've had in a while. Dog friendly too.
DATE STAYED: October 2011
We found without any exception the staff to be very friendly and helpfull and aways had time to talk to everybody.
The site was very clean and tidy. there is small coast towns/ vilages not comercialised within short distance from the site.
Monkton Wylde is a fabulous site, the amenities are spotless the staff are so helpful and the pitches are superb. Close to Charmouth, Lyme Regis etc and the Jurassic Coast is well worth a visit at any time. Two people and three dogs spent one fabulous night camping on this site and thoroughly enjoyed it will be back for more next year . Highly Recomended, give it a try.
The site was very clean, well organised and friendly. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this site as our stayed was spoilt by barking dogs. The area we were allocated also had 7 dogs in close proximity, one of the caravans housed no less than FOUR dogs which yapped continuously throughout the day so we were unable enjoy what should have been very peaceful surroundings. These 4 dogs were not always kept on their leads either, which was supposed to be the camp rule. So unless you are an avid dog lover and just want a peaceful break away then don't both with this site because you will be very disappointed as we were. Such a shame a good site completely spoilt by selfish dog owners.
As first time visitors to this site, we found it very good. The Wardens were extremely helpful and polite, the washing facilities and toilets were kept very clean and were nicely tiled and always spotless. The shop was well stocked with minor goodies; more serious shopping could be done in Axminster, a couple of miles away. The only drawback was the rather soggy weather, as it was September and the tail end of a hurricane from the US, and our pitch got muddy. The wardens came up with an excellent solution by putting down a layer of fine gravel to soak up the mud; well done, the wardens. I would definately return to this site in better weather. A great time was had and the countryside is magnificent.
DATE STAYED: September 2011
Lovely site which is very well maintained. It was after the school term had started so the site was extremely quiet by day and night. Despite the high winds it was quite sheltered. The site was in a great place for exploring the Dorset coast especially the Jurassic coast.
What can I say, Brilliant. Spent just under two weeks here at the back end of July. We booked a little late so opted for one of the All Weather Pitches, which as it turns out are excellent. The base being predominantly chalk meant that the pegs had top be put in a little harder than when on grass, but apart from that there was no issue with erecting our tent. The other good thing about the All Weather Pitches is that they are in I would describe as a cul-de-sac. We had pitch 37 (which was huge) which was tucked away in the corner, which was excellent as our 3 year old daughter could run around to her hearts content without the worry of passing cars. As is expected the toilet facilities were excellent, probably the best we’ve been to, spotlessly clean and a good size. We had use of the parent and child room also which again was very nice.
The staff were always very helpful and polite and always seemed very busy. The only negative we would give is that it does get very busy and on more that one occasion we had to queue for the showers, but that being said we would not hesitate in going back. All in all probably the best C & CC site we have been to.
DATE STAYED: July 2011
A lovely site which we will use again if in the area. Very convenient for many activities or lovely for doing nothing!
Beautiful, friendly site with wonderful clean modern facilities.
Pitch sizes are huge and well kept.
Toilet blocks, modern and spotlessley clean.
Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, not intrusive and really make you feel welcome.
Plenty to see and do in the area lots of places within easy reach and supermarket(Tesco's) about 3 miles away in Axminster.
Will definately return, this is how a site should be run.
DATE STAYED: August 2011
Hard standing pitch was massive. This site is big and spacious but has a lack of showers and toilets. The whole site is spotless and well laid out. the walk cards available from reception are good. lyme regis is 1 hour 15 minutes walk from site.
Spacious with lots of hedges to reduce wind and increase privacy. Good play areas, with very clear signs to prevent teenagers from loitering on them until the early hours. The only really irritating late night noise was from an older group in a pair of caravans who kept talking loudly well into the night - around midnight before they finished drinking and laughing. Shame so much of the site is now caravan friendly but not tent friendly. It would be nice if the Club would remember that Camping is the first word in its name, not Caravanning.
Lovely clean loos etc, a reasonable distance to walk but not as bad as some sites. Site is divided by a caravan storage park, but there seemed to be quite a number of empty vans on pitches too. Either that or they were very quiet people indeed! We walked from the site to Lyme using the walk-cards you can borrow from reception, it was lovely, and caught a bus back - we knew it would be still quite a long walk from the bus stop to site, but couldn't get a taxi, Lyme's taxi companies were over-stretched that day.
Charmouth fossil walks from the Heritage centre are wonderful, they helped us find lots of lovely ammonites and belemnites etc.
I've no idea why the club calls it Charmouth site though, it's actually much closer to Lyme Regis!
2 adults, 2 kids & 1 dog for 1 week in August: Lovely site and very well laid out. Pitches are huge. Had hard standing for 1st time. Was pitched at front of site near to road so had a lot of noise but no problem to us as we were in and out. This is a huge site but it doesnt feel like it because you are in small private fields. However for a site of this size you would expect more showers - only 5 on our side, but they were clean, hot and regulated. Shop well stocked with camping gear but slightly disappointed with food section, small selection of chilled/frozen etc. Site well placed for Lyme Regis and Charmouth but nothing immediately near to site. The nearest pub, Hunters Lodge, is 1 mile walking and would recommend. Food great and you can take your dog in aswell. One small criticism is that this site is not well sign posted - but I think this goes for all CCC in general. Please read the instructions on the "directions" page when visiting. Dog walk very nice - small wooded area. Playing area for kids brilliant - so I am told by my daughter, lol... Would go again!
Charmouth is the site we visit the most.
It was the first C&CC site we used, in a tent, but we have since changed to a caravan.
The site has maintained its standards and service on every visit. The layout and pitches are both great: there is plenty of space and the site is divided by hedges so you never feel it is such a big site.
Staff are always helpful - the facilities are always immaculate.
The site is centrally located for exploring beautiful west dorset and wonderful east devon.
This site owners - organised a bluebell walk for all guests during our stay. This was a lovely walk with the owners and wardens and our kids really enjoyed the pond dipping.
The site continues to develop - with the additon of the holiday homes.
There does seem to be more hard standing pitches now, showing the site is perhaps more geared towards caravans and motorhomes. With few level pitches left for tents.
During the last couple of visits we have noticed that many of the pitches are occupied by seasonal vans, yet these were not occupied during our stay. I prefer to tour, I know each to their own, but its a shame that so many pitches are under used and prevent others from visiting.
I suspect if all the pitches were occupied then the number of showers could be a problem on one side of the site.
The childrens play area is large with climbing frame, slide, swings, football pitch. There are plenty of pitches have a good view of the park - so you can keep an eye on your little ones.
The site feels very safe and secure.
The staff at this site were very welcoming and helpful throughout our weeks stay. We had access to walks and beaches within a few miles, the site has loads of cycle routes and walks that you can borrow for a returnable deposit. A excellent ambassador for the caravan and camping club
DATE STAYED: August 2008
First time campers with our two daughters aged 3 and 6. Had a wonderful time. Staff are really helpful and accommodating. We had a tent on the field and I would recommend this to those with little ones as there is no worries about cars. you can send them to throw the rubbish or fill up the water and you can easily see them. They just run free. Showers and loos are clean and tidy. Was really happy and had the time of my life! Will go back for sure. Even has a little forest kids can run about in.
What a beautiful site, exceptionally clean and maintained, central for all days out. Staff extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble. Also fish & Chips van and Jacket potato van visit. will certainly go back next year, if not before.
Lovely site, very helpful (even supplied additional wooden ramps when I couldn't get level - old fridge insists!), really clean facilities (even when we arrived late evening). Play facilities. Nice size pitches. Thanks to different fields and sections, never felt crowded even though fully booked. Will definitely go back. Only downside is that it isn't really practical to walk anywhere from the site (travelling alone with young child) so always had to drive, but well placed for driving to lots of locations.
Probably one of the best sites I have
stayed at. It is ideally located for
both Dorset and Devon.
Hi all, we have just returned from a week at this club site(JULY 11)and I was realy inpressed with the way the site is layed out, it has easy access from the main A35.The staff are very friendly and the toilet blocks are very clean and tidy,in fact the whole site is very clean and tidy.Would visit again.I give this site 5 stars
A great site that we will return too. The pitches did slope slightly but what was most frustrating was the amount of caravans that are obviously left pitched for the season with no-one staying in them. The toilet block was quite a walk away but considering we were near the play park we didn't have the issue of children screaming till late in the evening as the rules were well signposted. Wardens were all friendly and considering it was the half term holidays the park was quiet. This maybe due to the amount of pitches though that were obviously taken by others but not being used.
DATE STAYED: May 2011
Just returned from this fantastic site
The pitches are spacious the toilets, showers, washing up rooms etc. were always kept extremely clean (5 STAR) The staff are excellent and could'nt do enough for you
The site is set in a beautiful part of the country
The only downfall in our opinion is you have to rely to much on using the car
It is neither walking nor cycling friendly. It lacks footpaths or cycle lanes and the roads are far to steep (unless you are in training for the TOUR DE FRANCE)
DATE STAYED: June 2011
We have visited this site for about the last 3 or 4 years for the May/June Half term. The site is lovely and well taken care of. The dog facilities and kids playing areas are really good. The main facilities at the entrance are lovely.
Sadly, however, we were over on the Wylde side of the park. The facilities there are not so good. They are clean but is a shame they are not the same quality. I really missed having a cubicle for tooth brushing etc, it is very difficult to do it where people are washing their hands after a "visit".
New holiday homes were in place this year near the entrance and I felt this was a bit of a shame as I think they were not being used and further work was being done to the area - the caravans seem to be taking over the site, leaving the tent users with sloped pitches and further away from the facilities.
One of the black spots was that there was a dog in one of the caravans that did rather alot of barking during the day (It was a staff members dog) It was a shame as it did interrupt the peace, and when it was mentioned the staff member he did not take it well and told us we were lying. However, they did stop it barking for the rest of the holiday.
We have always enjoyed our time there and may return next year, but hopefully in a different place. It is a beautiful place to visit and visits to Charmouth Beach and West Bay are a must. There are some nice markets and car boot's to visit too !
We have just spent 2 weeks on this site. All the facilities were exceptionly clean and the site is very well maintained. This club site is very well situated for exploring Dorset & Devon.
We have stayed at this site 3 times now and it is our favourite site. The site was reccommended to us last year when we were about to embark on our first camping trip. The welcome was very friendly and we have always had a decent pitch. The facilities are well planned and very clean, the showers have there own temperature controls. The woodland walk is well worth walking round with or without a dog and we like the way the pitches are in sections making a big site feel more intimate. The shop sells any basic foods you may require and nothing seems to much trouble. A site that keeps calling us to come back.
Brilliant, is everything it says and more. Staff really friendly & helpful, site spotless and manicured. Best showers in UK. All the local information you could ever want, and shop has wide range of essentials. Location ideal for Jurassic coast and great beaches at Lyme Regis and Charmouth. If you are too middle aged for children activities then should ask for pitch in quieter area. Great!
we have been caravanning for going on 30 years using many different types of sites but found this one at charmouth one of the best we have ever visited. The friendliness and helpfulness of the wardens (especially when we had a problem with our car) was second to none, the site and grounds were exceptionally well kept, the cleanliness of toilet and washing up areas were also exceptional. We will definitely be using this site again.
My wife and I stayed here camping for a week JUNE 10th /18th 11 although the weather wasnt to good the cmpsite was excellant ***** very clean toilet and showers were spotless at all times site clean and well loked after .
Last but not least the staff wre friendly helpfull and couldnt do enough for people.
I would rcomend this site to anyone wanting the perfect site to camp or caravan on We will certainly be back
Thank you all at this site
Tam / Rachel Jordan Cornwall
I've been a C&C member for 3 years but this site was the most organised (yet largest) site I have been on. The units were spaced nicely apart, the grounds were perfectly kept, and plenty of palces to access water and bins. I would highly reccommend the site
Nice clean site.
Dog walking area at the top of the field, my toddler loved the sheep and lambs next to the dog walk area!
lovely clean loos and showers by the enterance.
nice to walk around, did not feel enclosed, site spread out.
good base for visiting local tourist areas.
supermarket not too far away to travel, nice sized morrisons at Bridport.

This was our first camping experience and it couldn't have been better. Our two dogs were well catered for with a lovely woodland walk on site and we found the staff helpful and extremely friendly. The information books in reception were extremely useful and we were spoiled for choice with dog friendly pubs and places to visit. Cleanliness on the whole site was first class and the shower and toilet facilities were exceptional. We will definitely return and will recommend to our friends. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We booked this site last minute. On arriving, staff were very friendly and helpful.Children loved the park.Toilets and campsite was very clean, with beautiful flower beds.Apart from the thunder storm we had on Saturday night,we had a lovely time her.The only draw back was it is a bit of a walk to get to the toilets if not able to walk far.
Great site. We had a family break in a tent, two great parks, we were able to pitch right next to the larger one so my 3yr was able to run free and safe. Great local pub (raymonds hill) very child friendly. Very clean, friendly and happy to help. (even had the papers ordered, other half very impressed!) Charmouth and Lyme-regis villages short drive, quite hilly for walking with the children but all good fun. Would definatly recommend.
Every time I stay on a Club site I am impressed but this one has to be the best, surely, easy to find, staff extremely helpful, (and very patient!) facilities spotless, good sized pitches and a lovely part of the world, will definately stay again! PS the pub shuts at 3pm until 6pm, if you are getting off the bus and fancy a pint before the walk back to the site!
Fantastic site. Very clean. Friendly welcome and helpful advice. Facilities were spotless. Easy striking distance to lots of walks, beaches etc. Good food at the local pub (1 mile walk). Have already booked to stay again.
If you are looking for a 5 star site, then this has to be it.
Friendly welcome on arrival, all amenities well explained, good size pitches.
The site has a beautiful peaceful relaxing atmosphere about it, lovely landscaped gardens great place to chill out and watch the world go by.
Toilet blocks, prep area, laundry area etc, all well maintained and so clean you could eat your dinner of the floor.
Lovely charming site, will definetly be coming back here later in the year.
Every member of staff was extremely helpful and friendly during my recent stay. The facilities were top class and at a very high level of cleanliness and the site well maintained. The site is superbly located for country walks and touring. It is a rural site with ready access to towns such as Lyme Regis and Bridport.
What a beautiful campsite, lovely location, close to Lyme Regis and in a great part of the country. The local pub on Raymonds Hill is family run, very nice food, families and dogs welcome, 1 mile walk from campsite, most of it on pavement. The site is well spaced out and mostly sunny. Shower block modern and very clean. Very nice welcome and would recommend. Where we were situated in our pop top was a little noisy at night as it was quite close to a fairly fast road, however when we book again we will ask for another location as there are acres to choose from. Lyme Regis lovely place to visit, plenty to do for everyone, you can walk if you wish. Charmouth quaint and sweet, close to lots of holiday attractions, although you will have to go by car. Site great for families as well as couple looking for a relaxing break in a gorgeous part of Dorset.
Can't wait to go back.
Use this site more than any other, located on Dorset/Devon border, well looked after, clean and friendly. It has the countryside, sea, towns and Exeter & Taunton in easy reach. We love this site so much I don't know why I'm sharing it with you !
DATE STAYED: October 2010
We have stayed at this site for the last 2 years and on both occasions it has been great. The site is superbly well run and organised as you would expect. Whilst it is reasonably large does feel more private due to the layout and number of hedges etc that split up the pitches. The only negative (and it is being a little picky) would be the facilites block on the Wylde side of the site which only has 2 showers (Mens) which can make it a little awkward at busy times.
To put it in perspective we nearly booked for here for a 3rd year this July but, with some regret, are now going elsewhere......Go and have a look, we will be again and you will love it!
DATE STAYED: August 2010
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break
Excellent site and very friendly. We were even greeted with a site brochure, containing local interests and details. We never go to any site twice… This is an exception, we will be going again this year. Lots to do around the area and excellent walks. Local foods available to try and BBQ on site. Excellent pubs near also. We recommend this site 5 Stars.
I can`t recommend this site more highly. The site is beautiful, well maintained and very friendly. The pitches are spread over a big site but they are not all on top of one another but in areas with hedges between areas and makes the site feel more individual, not one big open field with everyone all together.
DATE STAYED: January 2011
Absolutely fantastic place.
Clean, spacious and modern with fantastic pitches and facilities. Would definately stay again if it wasnt so far. Minor point: Site wifi is rubbish, so dont bother.
Its high up so can get early morning mist off the sea.
Lovely clean site with outstanding friendly reception.
The only thing that spoilt it for us significantly was one particular unit obviously owned by a member who spends some time there every year who was up till midnight with friends in the awning making a large amount of noise that disturbed everyone around. It was reported but not acted on quickly enough and we would suggest this needs attention as noise should stop after 11.00 pm latest and actually does not have to be invasive at all. A real shame as the site is wonderful in every other aspect.
