We had the most marvellous 10 day break at Cranberry Moss. From the moment we arrived we were treated to a fabulously warm welcome. The views from our pitch was spectacular. We found the facilities immaculate. The surrounding area afforded us some amazing day trips out. The one we took from the site to Bala via Lake Vyrnwy was one of the most spectacular ever. Shopping at both Shrewsbury and Oswestry was enjoyable as both had a high number of independent outlets.Meals at the nearby pub were reasonably priced and of a high quality.I certainly intend to come back again.

Site and Shower blocks lovely and clean, all pitches plenty big enough and most have a nice outlook.
Ask at the shop for map walks as they are superb, wear suitable shoes though as you cross fields etc.
Dog walking area is poor as no lighting and very small but just outside the site gates there is a great run.
Site is riddled with Rabbits so Kids and Dogs have a great time watching them.
We did enjoy our stay here.

Stayed 4 nights in April (the night of the snow) was one of the nights. What a great welcome from Peter and Alan really friendly made you feel at ease immediately. The shower/toilet block are immaculate and the showers really hot other facilities are first class also. The site is close to the busy A5 but in all honesty we only noticed the road noise when sitting outside none at all during the night. Bus stop outside to both Oswestry and Shrewsbury very handy. Plenty of supermarkets fairly close by Morrisons, Sainsburys and Aldi. Walking and birdwatching are also quite close by didn't really have enough time to explore all the area so we will definitely be returning to Cranberry Moss in the near future.

This is a five star site and more, its well laid out with good size pitches and more than average space between pitches. Staff are very helpful and friendly, they run an excellent site with a small shop that can meet all your basic needs and that was in February. The shower block looked new and has been designed by someone who definately knows what is needed - good heating system, spacious showers, hot water with a good blast and I have got to congratulate the staff the first ever clean mop and bucket for use.
We had a great weekend in a very cold February (only the Brave)caught a reliable bus just outside the entrance
into Oswestry had a few beers an got back just in time to watch the Rugby. Definately going back soon.

Called this site just by off chance when we were in the area to initially ask about the site then ask if we could join as members there.
First thoughts were how friendly the people were and once we stayed on the site  how all the ammenities were spotlesly clean and both Gail and Alan always had a smile, which makes you feel welcome.
It is set in between both Oswestry and Shrewsbury only 300 yards from the A5 which is ideal for both site seeing and shopping. Friday night was chip night with a chip van pulling near the entrance from 4.30pm until 7pm and I must say these were both good value for money and also tasty.
At £4.50 for fish chips and peas, you can't go wrong.
It was my first visit here but certainly won't be my last.

Stayed there three times now.
Two of us and our small mixed terrier.
The welcome and reception was excellent.
Shown to our pitch and helped to park up. Also given a choice of pitches.
The site is spotlessly clean and in a peaceful countryside setting just off a road so a little road noise was heard occaisionly but it definitly was not a problem.
The site is beautiful and well kept. and the dog walk was great for our litle pet dog.
The surroundings were great.countryside farms and little villages, bus stops nearby the site entrance. to Oswestry and other areas of interest.
There is a lovely pub near that does wonderful food and allow dogs too. And a visiting fish and chip van on a Friday for a treat. The shower blocks offered individual tloilets, sink areas and showers for privacy. Water heat water not a problem.
The onsite shop was small and had few items to purchase but you only need the basics as main food shops were not far away.
Lovely place.

The welcome we recieved was first class, we were helped to choose a pitch and as the end of the hurricane was due in a couple of days it was suggested we park nose first, facing the spinney, so as we had an awning, the wind would hit the van first, we were offered help if the awning needed to be taken doen in a rush. Payment wasn't a priority, we were told to go to the office later once we were set up, thus giving us a taste of a relaxed atmosphere, not like the regimented attitude of the opposition. Saying this everything was clean and tidy. The only down side was the restricted opening hours of the shop. We will definately stay here again, as nothing was too much trouble.

A well maintained and attractive site. It's relatively small but, other than a children's play area, has everything you could need. The grass pitches aren't very level but our tent pitched okay and it didn't give me any problems. The welcome was excellent and we were given a choice of pitches which was great.
As for children, we didn't feel they were unwelcome but the site did seem to be occupied mainly by retired couples. However, there were still a fair number of families.
Overall, a very good site in a wonderful part of England. Recommended

Our fifth time at this site, nothing too much trouble for the staff, facilities always spotless, very relaxing atmosphere, tried the fish and chips once, that was enough - they were very poor and expensive but other people seemed to like them! The little town of Ellesmere is a short ride away and well worth a visit with its quaint shops and lovely large lake plus various canals to explore.

At last, a site that lives up to the "friendly" tag that the C and C club prides itself in but sadly sometimes falls short of! If there was an example for how campers should be welcomed then this would be it. What a fantastic, helful welcome, without the rules in your face or a hundred notices! These site managers should provide the training services for others. After 36 years this was easily the best C And C site visited! Well done!

Unfortunately after reading the other reports i feel i need to say something about this site.Yes the campsite is very clean,my concerns are the shower blocks are to small for the number of pitches, children were not made to feel very welcome.I think they wold be better off saying adults only,we have two children aged 9 and 7 ,believe it or not they are well mannered and are told to respect there elders. It is a shame however when respect is not shown back.On our arrival a caravan was booking in just before us a older couple were laughing and joking with the receptionist, that was not the case when i walked in with my daughter.I dont mean this to sound like a rant because we had a relaxing time when a break was long overdue.ALL I WOULD SAY IS IF YOU ARE A YOUNG COUPLE WITH CHILDREN THIS IS NOT THE SITE FOR YOU.

Warmest welcome we've had at any site. Alan very helpful when offering us choice of pitch.Site was very busy when we were there but no problems with facilities. The nearby "the Old Three Pigeons" pub was great for food.Very varied price range and menu, plus 10% off if you take voucher from site! Some good cycling as mostly fairly level country lanes. Will certainly use again if in the area.

Arrived on June 4th after getting lost, but was greeted by Alan who showed us around no rush, and offred us a couple of places to pitch. Initially we were to do 4 nights here and 3 at Bala, however I pulled my back putting the tent up and asked if they could let us stay the week. Gail sorted it out by ringing Bala for us and explaining the situation. Surrounded by woodland & countryside& wildlife with good facilities this is a great site. It got really busy but we never had problems with showers or toilet facilities. The owners are friendly. There is a little shop for bits and the chip van on Friday evenings. Plenty of Towns to explore nearby, Church Stretton a quaint little town is a must. Many walks a short drive away, our feet are still aching !! Or you can just kick back and relax and stay on site.Just dont get Alan talking football and his beloved Man Utd lol He is always willing to have a chat and help if you have any problems. To be honest I didnt mind because im a Man U supporter also. We will return to this site as we enjoyed the week, the chat, and the peace. See you there soon.

We had a lovely 3 night break over the weekend. The welcome was very friendly and all the site facilities were excellent. TV reception was poor but that was due to us being in the immediate shelter of the trees. I would definatley return to the site and recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break. One slight comment regarding the 'chip van', I thought they were miserable. I didn't think they were good value nor particulary good quality, the lady dishing out the chips loaded her scoop up but only put 1 extra chip on the guy's portion in front of me!! I also heard her complain about being asked to put a burger seperate from the chips because "I'm not supposed to..." We are talking a 3p polystyrene dish fols on a £5.50 Burger & Chips deal, hardly going to break the bank! But the site...marvellous and we will return, well done to the management!!

I had 7 nights at this site and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The wardens welcome and helpfullness was 1st class.Although the site was quite busy, the only noise was from the birds. The facilities were spotless and the roadways clean with spacious pitches. With no play area, this site would not be ideal for families with children, but if you want peace and quiet, look no further.Friday night is chip van night.Excellent food at reasonable prices.I'll be going back to Oswestry without doubt.

We stayed for 3 nights and chose this site purely so we could meet up with relatives in Shrewsbury. However we really enjoyed our stay. The site was quite quiet as our Easter holidays seem to have been later than others. The staff were very helpful and suggested a lovely cycle ride around some local lanes and to Nesscliffe Country Park. We would definitely use this site gain.

This a very nice site, well maintained and in a picturesque setting. The site was more or less fully occupied during my visit. The area for tents is quite compact and ok if people behave in a responsible manner. Unfortunately half way through my stay what appeared to be 2 families arrived at the next pitch to me and put up 3 tents together (6 metre rule?). On the pitch on the other side of me was another family who appeared to be with the other 2 families on the other side. The children from both families were allowed to run wild and were running through my pitch area. At 11pm the families were still talking loudly. I left a day early vowing never to go camping again when schools are on holiday.

Having covered the length and breadth of Britain and stayed at campsites across the globe, I can honestly say this was the best bar none.
Finding the site nicely secluded, I from experience expected little more than a patch of scrub-land with the bare minimum of amenities and warden interaction: - How wrong I was! The site not only has all the facilities I hadn't even hoped for but they were exemplary and beautifully maintained.
The shop had some very interesting local stock and although we didn't manage to try out the fish and chips from the visiting stand, I appreciated the sentiment and have noted it for my next visit which I will surely make for this site alone!
On a final but important note, I commend the staff on their approach. The lady in the shop was very friendly and her son, very knowledgeable of the area. I am, it has to be said, not a seasoned camper so it was quite the time saver when Alan the warden was helpful enough to show me where I was going wrong when putting up my tent as it was a new one I had not yet used.
In closing, I was thoroughly impressed by the grounds and although I would never want to be sold anything, the manner of the staff and the overall cleanliness, look and charm of Cranberry Moss and surrounding area has certainly got wanting to take up membership as well as made this my site of choice next time I am in the region.

This is a great site!
We were very impressed from the moment we arrived we were given such a friendly, helpful welcome. The site is in absolute pristine condition, with ample space between pitches.
The shower and toilet blocks are spotlessly clean; there is plenty of room for washing up and there is a laundry site available too. The information board contains some useful local info.
When we arrived on Friday evening there was a food van on site which was very welcome after our travels and there is a small shop on site where you can order newspapers and get any essential supplies. The campsite prevents vehicles in and out between 11 p.m and 7 a.m which means that you can really enjoy the tranquility of the site. There are two dedicated dog walking "runs" both easily accessible.
All in all a site that must be visited for a great break!
