Immaculate site, friendly welcome. As site was quiet, allowed to chose own pitch which was a bonus.
Lots to do in the area. Must visits are Kielder for walking & cycling etc, Wallington House & Cragside both of which are National Trust. Also take an easy walk from the site to Hareshaw Linn to see the 30ft waterfall. Golf & fishing also possiible nearby. Only downside is the poor road conditions in Northumbria which nearly shook our Motorhome to pieces !!
Had a fab 5 days at this site en route home from Scotland.
Be afraid we shall return!!!!

Immaculate site and incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend.
MEMBER FOUND TOWING: Moderate

This was a lovely site. The wardens were really friendly and helpful, had good local knowledge and were able to suggest activites. The village of Bellingham was a short walk away and had a good range of shops, pubs, post office, banks etc. The road into the village was very busy though and when crossing the bridge9by foot) into the village it was a bit 'hairy' if you didn't wait for large vehicles to go over first. There are some lovely walks nearby so it wasn't necessary to take the car out every day. A lovely site which we will visit again and would recommend to others.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Active break,Younger couples
Once again enjoyed a lovely few days at this immaculate site. Plenty good walks directly from site especially along the river into village. We call this our chill out site. Nothing is to much trouble to Carole & Barry franchisees. Back again soon
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
On arrival to this site we booked in and were guided to our pitch by Mike, Mike and his friend Steve were staying there also to help there friends Barry and Carole (Franchisees). Mike and Steve were very helpful when we had a problem with our awning, we also got lots of tips from Mike and Steve as we are a couple of newby's to towing a caravan.
The facilities are excellent and well maintained.
We had an excellent time and would recommend this site to young and old, there is something for everyone to do.
Thanks again to two nice gents Mike and Steve.

Two week Easter Stay - weather better than home (East Yorkshire). Great Site, Great Facilities, lots of activities for walkers, cyclists. Some lovely pubs in Bellingham (10-15minutes walk). Dog friendly and great atmosphere throughout. We'll definitely return.
excellent site, friendly staff & lovely clean toilets. will be back.
DATE STAYED: June 2012
On arrival we were given a warm welcome, guided to our pitch and advised on the direction of the prevailing wind to help us decide how to orientate our camper van.
The site is extra clean, the toilet block was spotless and it was a nice surprise to have Radio 2 for company whilst in there.
There is a well equipped reception/shop area with every leaflet you might need for local attractions, with plenty of discounts to use and the site owners offered excellent advice on local attractions, timing etc.
The site offered a free and exclusive Halloween visit from the local Kielder Birds of Prey Centre, and the kids loved seeing the birds in action.
All round I can say I highly recommend this site to all members and visitors.
DATE STAYED: November 2012
We arrived to a warm welcome and were escorted to our pitch but the site roads and pitches are very tight to manoeuvre. The grass areas were waterlogged so reaching the EHU was very wet. Toilet block and site was clean and tidy but the reception was only open for a few hours each day with a bell to ring for attention which was either not heard or ignored. Although the site was almost empty with only 10 units the warden still insisted we vacated our pitch by 12 Noon on a Monday departure, very un-flexible which meant we had to find parking off site for a few hours to do a short walk to the Hareshaw Linn waterfall…overall very disappointing

Arrived to a friendly welcome. Quickly got settled for the nights stay. All facilities and grounds are very well maintained. Site staff recommended local Riverdale Hall Hotel to eat..This was a 10 minute walk away we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.(If walking to the village at night a torch is a must) Free Wi-Fi available at the site however a donation to the local charity is well received.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break
We stay here every year for 4 or 5 days breaking our outward and return journey on our annual trip to Scotland. This is an immaculate site in a lovely location and one which always passes my spiders web test for cleanliness. Barry and Carole always give us a warm welcome and really make us feel at home. We look forward to returning in 2013.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We stayed here as a stop-off on the way home from Scotland, but would happily return. This is a compact but well - set - out site in lovely surroundings, and would make a great base for exploring the area. The only (minor) criticism for us was the poor illumination in the washroom block - I found an early morning (at this time of year) shave rather trying - it is the only site without extra lighting above the mirrors that we have visited - and the push-button code on the access door could be difficult for children, although not a problem for us.
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this site and what can we say. This site has the cleanest facilities we have ever come across, absolutely spotless. The whole site is kept immaculate. The site is run by the friendliest people who were really helpfull and knowledgeable about the local area. We will definately be returning and would not hesitate to recommend this site.
Just had a lovely few days at this site. The facilities are fantastic the best we have come across. The shop has everything needed and you can even order a newspaper. The staff are so friendly and helpfull. We will be back for sure.

This is one of the best sites we have visited. The staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are always willing to help and we often heard them giving detailed information on local places to visit.
The site is close to the friendly village of Bellingham which has several pubs/restaurants, a small supermarket and all the amenities you could want.
We have stayed three times at this site and will be back in 2013 to enjoy what we are sure will be another great visit made even better by the staff on this great site.
The extra helpful staff cannot do enough for you. The cleanliness is the highest I have ever seen. The pitches are well laid out. We could not have wished for a more welcoming service. The site deserves to be recognised for the outstanding service that they provide. Service like this is hard to find in this day and age. Well done Bellingham Camping and Caravanning Club.
Visited the site for their Live and Local event in September featuring local musicians and food. Thoroughly enjoyed the concert and BBQ. Will look for other sites doing similar events. Site is well managed with good facilities and well maintained grounds. It's within walking distance of Bellingham which has a good range of shops and pubs, including a traditional bakers and butchers. Excellent walk up to Hareshaw Linn. Although the site is reasonably local we are likely to visit it again.
What a pleasure this review is going to be to write. This is by far the best Camping and Caravan club site we have ever stayed at. When we first arrived we knew it was extremely well organised by the way the entrance is set out and the orderly fashion we were greeted in and shown our pitch. The facilities are spotless, modern, well organised, easily accessed and just the right number of showers to keep everyone happy. The water is hot - what more could you want! The washing-up area is spotless, heaps of hot water, organised (even washing-up bowls). Our pitch was immaculate, the main field for tents looked orderly and clearly showed the managers had followed a plan and the 6m rule. We were given a brilliant leaflet about the site and area with walking suggestions from the site which we followed successfully and thoroughly enjoyed the waterfall. This site is peaceful, quiet and extremely restful. All the children we saw were playing on a separate park area specially designed for them, having a great time and kicking balls about without upsetting anybody else. If you wanted more there is always Kielder on the door step. From beginning to end (booking by phone) we found Bellingham the site that all other sites should emulate.
The reception upon arrival was a bit underwhelming, especially after just driving 350 miles! At first I thought we had just arrived at a bad time or day - however our stay went downhill. Very specific on how to park your vehicle, and what else you can and cannot do. Speaking with our pitch neighbours they could not wait to move on as they had not enjoyed their time on the site. This site has a five star rating however I think this is because all the effort goes into providing manicured grass and facilities which was all appreciated, however perhaps some of that effort should be put into customer service. Perhaps we were unlucky and were just booked in at the wrong time. Generally a clean, tidy site with good facilities but a bit exposed on windy nights. As others have stated the facilities in the neighbouring village are very good.

This was our first trip in our new motorhome and boy was it a good choice! The site is so well maintained, the staff are fantastic and the facilities first class. So good, in fact, we are going back next week :)
A long overdue, return visit to this lovely site. The staff are brilliant. Very friendly, efficient and always helpful. The scenery is to die for and and the local village has a decent co-op and several good places to eat. Good walking, plenty to visit within a short drive. We will be back again soon.
All the staff were very professional and friendly and they couldn't be more willing and helpful.
The site was very clean and all exterior facilties are kept in excellent order. The showers/toilets and elsan disposal in excellent working order and very clean.
Would not hesitate to book again when next in this area.
The site was spotless, toilet block one of the best we've seen. The site was well maintained and in a great area where you can be as active or peaceful as you like.
However: the 'dog walk' is a joke. It is a narrow, almost grassless, very muddy strip (used by bikes - the tracks were visible) and a safety hazard as it was so slippy. The site rules, quite rightly, say that dogs should always be on a lead - ours were. Others were not and were left to wander and toilet where they pleased. We saw the site manager picking up poo near our caravan and we just hope he didn't think it was our dogs that performed there! I spoke to the owner of one of the wandering dogs and he agreed with me about the dog walk - said his dog wouldn't use it. Many dog owners walked their dog to the grass strips at the front entrance instead of using the 'dog walk'.
The sign outside the shop states 'in our shop today' fresh bread - well, it doesn't, not every day. When I asked the lady who served me said 'I don't think she's ordered it. We might have some at the weekend.'
On the whole a very good site and we would recommend with reservations as above.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Just back from a fabulous three night stay at the Bellingham C&C Club Site. What can I say about this perfect little site - well manicured, friendly staff, excellent facilities which were immaculate the whole duration of our stay. This is now our top site and we'll be back soon! Great for those who love the great outdoors - mind you, we really hit on with the weather! Just about to book for a follow-up visit - see you soon. Excellent site, friendly staff. Always kept clean, litter picked daily. Grass like a lawn. Facilities well looked after.
Good location for towns or scenic country side. Walking distance 0.9 miles Co Op & Pubs in Bellingham
My husband & I were pleased with everything - even the weather!! We really enjoyed Hadrian's Wall and the Museums. We also enjoyed Kielder Water.
I would reccommend if you are interested in the wall - to join English Heritage -if you are going to spend time visiting a lot of the sites - it will soon pay for itself especially if you enjoy Castles and gardens etc. There is lots to see and do.
The helpful welcome given by the wardens, both when booking and on arrival. We had been flooded out of our previous site and telephoned Bellingham on the morning of the day we arrived.
As "orphans of the storm" we were in need of a bit of TLC and we received this in abundance at Bellingham. Had a wonderful holiday here and will come again.
Arrived at the site and the staff could not be more helpful was told everything I needed to know then guided to my pitch the site itself is spotless, and the facilities are some of the best I have seen while caravaning. Bellingham is about a 10 minute walk away and is a lovely little village will definitely be back
The staff were excellentand really helpful. The grounds were immaculate. Showers were clean and warm and we particularly liked the music playing in the background. Overall this is a Five Star site and deserves it.
At first we thought excellent the facilities are spotless what else could we need? THE ANSWER BEING CARE AND CONSIDERATION WHEN GIVING PITCHES!!! Everyone in a tent was given a pitch which after 3days were completely water logged!!! If the site does not want to accommodate people in tents say that in the brochure and we'll find somewhere else to go! The whole site definitely needs a suitable drainage system put in! DO NOT GO NEAR THIS SITE WITHOUT MIDGE PROTECTION AS ITS OVER RUN WITH THEM and the owners don't give any information about them and even go so far as to deny a problem when approached! They should spend more time on getting information right and less on cutting the grass to cover up their very significant problems!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AND WOULD NEVER RETURN!!!
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples
For us this was a one stop on the way to Scotland. We liked the site so much, as well as the friendly staff, that we booked 4 nights on the return journey. We love the history in the surrounding area and the scenery. There are lots of good walks and pleasant places to eat and drink. I think that parents with younger children may have to make an effort to entertain them.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
found the site lovely and clean. the site managers were very friendly and helpfull. They were most helpfull in where to get Sunday dinner at the local hotel. Also in the tide times to get to Holy Island. Would go again, but hope for better weather.
we,ve just returned after a lovely stay here in a camping pod with our dog and i honestly have to say it,s one of the best campsites i,ve stayed at.beautiful location near village surrounded by gorgeous countryside.the whole campsite and facilities were superb and spotless clean, never saw a pick of litter all the time we were there and the toilet/shower facilities are the best we,ve seen and the staff are friendly and very helpful.the pods are warm and cosy and i,ve never slept as long camping before since it was so peaceful and dark with blind pulled down ,even had to set our alarm the day we left incase we slept in and that was,nt till 11am!!!pod area is excellent with your own picnic table, barbeque stand, deck chairs and folding table, also a small dog walk on site.we,ll be back !! highly recommend !!
We were greeted by Carol when we arrived who was extremely friendly and interactive with us. The site is well kept with the facilities immaculate. Our pitch was fab with electric hook up. The only issue was the playground which contained two swings (no facilities for small children) The shop was well stocked with items and information guides. Would recommend and would return.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break
Me and my dog Alfie stayed in one of the pods for the weekend. I agree with what others have said about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - especially for help with unscrewing the top of a Trangia that hadn't been used for er...a while! The site is clean and efficiently run and I would certainly recommend it. Alfie and I will definitely be back!
This is a absolute gem of a campsite in Northumberland, we arrived to a warm welcome from the staff and we were quickly shown to our pitch. The staff were only too helpful a special thanks to Barry who helped me restart my car with a jumper pack after I had left my electric cool box plugged in to the car. Five minutes after asking for help my car was running again.
The facilities are very well kept and spotlessly clean. It was great to see the kids playing in the playground enjoying themselves between the rain showers. Plenty of visitors parking at reception for our friends that visited us on the Saturday.
It's is well positioned to visit keilder or hadrians wall.
This should be the benchmark for all of the club sites and can see why this campsite has been in practical caravans top 100 for the last four years.
This is by far one of the best sites in the Club.
There is a warm friendly greeting on arrival from the staff and equally advice is given on using the well maintained facilities available on site.
It is a good starting point for exploring the many excellent attractions within easy reach.
Whether you want a laid back retreat or a base to explore from. Whatever it is then this is the place to remember for a great experience
We cant thank all staff enough for their worthwhile friendly approach.
We would like to say how much we enjoyed being on this site. The wardens are so very helpful and friendly. The setting is peaceful and beautiful and everything is kept in perfect condition. The area has wonderful old towns, castles and beaches of the highest quality. We just loved it all and would be very happy to recommend Bellingham site to anyone.
Thank you one and all. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best Wishes, Gordon and Barbara Curd.

We recently stayed in the camping pods and we were very grateful that we were able to book out all 4 for our group. The campsite is spotlessley clean and a great location but I must comment on how unfriendly and strict the staff were on our visit. It was very clear from the moment we arrived that it was not a child friendly site which was really disapointing as this was the only negative comment we could make - apart from the park could have more play activities. Very very disappointing as it spoilt what would have been a great weekend!
Secluded enough to be peaceful, but only 15 min. walk to village. Good base for visiting a variety of places and attractions. Friendly wardens. Site and facilities well cared for. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
delightful site, beautiful, clean, tidy and well cared for. Friendly, helpfull staff.Within short walking distance of Bellingham for pubs, cafes and shops.A real treat.
DATE STAYED: April 2012
Once again my Partner and i have enjoyed a wonderful short break at this site, spoiled only by the length of stay being shorter than we would have wanted. Roll on our next visit.
Had an absolutely amazing time, staff extremely friendly and helpful. lots to do in surrounding area including the spectacular Hareshaw Linn waterfall, campsite is also less than 2 hours drive from Hogwarts school!!!! and who wouldn't want to learn how to fly a broomstick at Hogwarts?
Had an amazing week at Bellingham campsite, facilities very clean and site well cared for. Must visit the waterfall at Hareshaw Lynn and Kielder Water and Forest Park. Going back to the site later in the year with our son so he can go mountain biking.
DATE STAYED: March 2012
Excellent site, facilities were spotless. Site wardens very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to Bellingham, lovely village. Only criticism was when asked if could stay few hours longer, with only 6 other caravans on site, was charged £5. Will definitely be back soon.
We (self, husband, 2 kids and 1 dog) have stayed at this site a number of times. and we are going back again this year in April, July and August, so it must be good! We like it because it is small, friendly, very clean and quiet. The children can play safely and remain within view, a big plus. We are inexperienced at towing and access is easy.
DATE STAYED: July 2011
This was our first time at Bellingham, and we were very impressed with all aspects of the site, the best C&C club site we have stayed on for many years. Wonderful countryside all arround and you don't need your own transport, walking, cycling, buses. Bellingham has most things, check out the bakery!
Thank you to the site managers-we will be back.

What a lovley, peaceful site with a friednly welocme and excellent standards. This is a great base for exploring the local area and was a pleasure to return to at the end of a busy day.
Thank you and we will visit again.
This was our first time using a camping pod now that the kids have flown the nest, we are now podders and will book again to be veteran podders. we had a warm welcome from barry and carole, the site is the best that we have been on,it was the best 3 days for us and wished that had stayed longer
many thanks tony and alison also toby the dog.ps you need to upgrade unite type with pod on it

We spent 4 nights here on our way home from Cairnryan port. What a fantastic site in a great location, ideal for visiting the Northumberland National Park, Hadrian's Wall and much much more. The site was immaculate as were the toilets and showers. Bellingham village is only a short walk away and has everything you need including a bank, bakery, Post Office, chemist, Co-op and pubs. This was our first visit to this site but it certainly won't be our last.
We have to say a special thank you to Barry who, despite the pouring rain, a howling gale and us arriving late due to having broken down en route still managed to greet us with a smile - a welcome we really appreciated!!
As a first time camper (altho we stayed in the pods) I was amazed by how clean everything was. The toilets & showers were spotless (and I agree with a previous reviewer that it's nice to have radio 2 playing in there!) I liked the strict rules re quiet time - I have heard horror stories of other camp sites with all night parties.
Would like to have had an electricity socket in the pod, but that's my only negative.
Will def stay again.
DATE STAYED: August 2011
We found the site easy to find with easy access, plus a helpful warden to help you to site your unit. Due to the bad weather the site was wet but Barry did explain why it did not drain quickly. On a return visit we will choose to be sited on a hardstanding and not grass. Washrooms were very clean. Recycling facilities were excellent. Play area is small but adequate for the size of the site. Adults were requested to supervise children in the area but we observed very little adult supervision. With one noisy element the site team were very professional, and skilfully dealt with the problem. The local shops were helpful and the people very friendly. We were lucky to be on site for the Bellingham Country show which was well worth a visit. We enjoyed exploring the area and don't rule out a return visit.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
We stayed in the pods and found them to be excellent. We have stayed in pods before on another site, and the Pods at Bellingham have lots of extras. The internal lights and heater, and outside storage chest and clothes airer were all very useful. The only thing missing is an electric plug socket or hook up for our electric coolbox. An added electric socket would make these pods 10/10. The site is lovely, peaceful, very well maintained and Carole & Barry are very helpful. The toilet and showers blocks were immaculately clean and private.
I found the site so well organised and run. The toilet & shower blocks are kept spotless and the introduction of background music is a nice touch.
The site location is good - just an easy walk into the village of Bellingham where you can find all the amenities you need and its central for touring Kielder and Hadrians Wall country.
Very peaceful and clean site! Staff more than helful. Very impressive facilities - including recycling area!Town with local shops very nearby with lovely walks - check out the waterfall.
Would highly commend the wardens for dealing with the removal of an undesireable element from the site. It is great to see standards of the club maintained. Well Done.
Site staff efficient, pleasant and helpful.
Site facilities new, very clean, adequate and well maintained.
Site itself level, grassed areas and hard standing plots well maintained, adequately spaced and easily negotiated.
Site security and supervision - password system for site entry and use of facilities - was very reassuring.
Excellent hotel nearby for lunchtime and evening first class good value quiet bar meals for adults or family. Pleasant efficient service.
Site staff efficient, pleasant and helpful.

we spent seven nights at this site and we highly recommend it to everyone the staff were very helpfull and friendly and we will be going back again soon
This is an immaculate site - the toilet and shower block were the best I have seen! Very friendly wardens, excellent shop, recycling bins, plenty of space, excellent security with a barrier in place at all times. We will be back soon! Thank you
Our second time at this site. Well stocked shop, facilities always spotless with piped music.Nothing too much trouble for the staff, will be coming again.
DATE STAYED: May 2011

This is a difficult review to write, owing to the weather we endured over 4 wet nights at the beginning of August 2011. Considering the size of the site, the dire weather and school holidays, it is the quietest site we have ever stayed at.
FACILITIES - excellent and spotless. Heated showers - great. The staff were helpful and efficient. WiFi available for a donation to a MAG, a landmine charity. Did not use shop but it has produce and so on.
Glad we did not have young children - only a very small playground (which got very muddy) and little room to kick a ball.
PITCHES - we were glad we were in a camper and not a tent as this site got very wet and in some areas appears to be poorly drained. Our hard-standing was barely above water and the surrounding grass areas were very wet with standing water.
We're hardened campers and walkers, but some investment needs to be made in land drainage to justify the relatively expensive pitch fees - it is NE England!
Petrol and diesel in nearby Bellingham - this is a rural area with very few fuel stations!
Good choice of pubs - the hotel nearest the site is recommended.
We would return only if dry weather could be assured :-)
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break
Have just spent the week with husband and two kids in one of the camping pods it was lovely and clean with a marvellous view and great not to have a wet tent! Using the pod with four in was fine with room to sleep comfortably you just need to be organised and use car for storage but we don't mind as it stops clutter. Facilities spotless and clean and very polite and helpful staff would definately return.
For children a very small play area and no where to kick a ball, very strict with the kids as to what they can do and where. Facilities very clean, pitch sodden due to rain, very poor drainage. Midgies also a very big problem. Dont think we will visit it again, sorry
Immaculate facilities in a beautiful area, run by helpful friendly wardens.
This was our first time on a club site and expected it to be very busy and noisy but it was the opposite! The owners were very friendly and the site was very well organised. Couples were put at one end of the site and families pitched nearer the play area, which means it is a great and peaceful site for couples but not too quiet that kids don't feel they can play and run about.
The toilets and showers were spotless with washing cubicles as well as showers. The shop had everything you'd need and extras such as maps and gifts.
Perfect location for exploring Kielder forest, Northumberland, the borders and the north pennines. The only thing I recommend is midge repellant, they are savage!! but this will be the same for any site in this area in the summer. Can't fault the site at all will definately be back!
Great location, site is not too large in size. Friendly welcome and informative staff. Play area is basic but at least the site has one. Toilet/shower area is immaculate - easily the cleanest we have experienced. Would highly recommend a stay here - we will be back!
We have been using this site for 4 years now - it is our local retreat. Barry and Carole work hard to provide a wonderful, relaxing experience for their clients. Everyone receives a very warm welcome. The site is immaculate, the toilet facilities spotless. Every year we find that they have added something new and this year we were astounded to find that they had provided a FREE Wifi connection. They suggest a small donation to their chosen charity - this year it is Landmines - in return. Peaceful, tranquil, and a night sky to marvel at - I bet you did not realise there were so many stars! Excellent all round!
Lovely clean and well run site, but, wouldn't allow us a wind break due to 6m regs, which made it tricky when cooking outside as it was windy, also were very picky about exactly where we and the couple next door pitched (lots of measuring). Very pretty and friendly village, well stocked co-op, fab little bakery next door and The Cheviot Hotel across the road does delicious take out pizza! The waterfall walk took about an hour each way and was well worth the effort.
STAYED 5NIGHTS ON SITE.WARM WELCOME ESCORTED TO PITCH.VERY CLEAN AND TIDY.IMMACULATE TOILETS.SPOTLESS CHEM TOILET.OVERALL A VERY NICE TIME WAS HAD ON A BEAUTIFULL SITE.LOVED THE FACT THEY RECYCLE BOTTLES/CANS ETC KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.DOWNSIDE NO VODAPHONE SIGNAL BUT NEVER SPOILT OUR HOLIDAY.WELL WORTH A VISIT WITH VILLAGE 15 MINS WALK AND HEXAM 25MIN DRIVE.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
This was our first visit with our 2 kids to this site and we were not dissapointed. The staff were all wonderfull and could not help you enough. The site was kept spotless including the shower block which always had hot running water. It took us 15 minutes to walk into Bellingham with our 5 and 3 year old and has a few nice pubs and co-op if you need any supplies. The site is also a good base for Keilder Water with good mountain bike trails. The only downside was the midges please make sure you take plenty of repellent! We will be returning as soon as we can.

We are regular visitors to this beautiful site. The owners and staff could not be more helpful and friendly. They work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. The site is pleasantly busy but still manages to be quiet and relaxing. The kids love the play park and always make lots of new friends when we stay. Kielder is close by and we often cycle in that area or we just pop to the village on the bikes and walk up Hareshaw Lynn Waterfall. Lovely Chinese in the village and a nice range of shops and pubs. Lovely food at Riverdale Hall Hotel. It is one of the best campsites we have stayed at - it's definitely on our favourites list.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Arrived last friday for a 2 night break and i was over the moon with the site, It was extreamly clean and well kept.
The staff were helpfull and the shop well stocked.
Its also good how you have to be 6 meters from neighbouring tents so plenty of room and not cramped at all!
There is a good walk through woodland to a waterfall nearby (Thanks to the manager for that), 4 mile round trip from site. Overall i really enjoyed my stay at this little gem of a site and hope to be back soon!
This was our first visit to the site and it will not be our last! The staff could not help you enough, they are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very approachable and accommodating. The site facitilies are superb and to a high standard of cleaniness, we could not fault it. The grounds are maintained to a high standard and it was a pleasure to spend a day chilling around the camp site. Its a 10 to 15 minute walk into Bellingham where there's a choice of pubs to frequent. This site is a good base to see the sights of Nothumberland in car, foot or on bike. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

My family of four, including our pet rabbit, had a wondeful stay for 4 nights in a pod. It was our first time staying in a pod and it will not be our last. We were pleased with everything, from booking on the phone to checking out. Thank you for everything Barry and Carole, and staff. I hope you're not having pie withdrawal symptoms :) Best regards from Pie Man and family.

Really friendly and very helpful staff – nothing is too much trouble! The village can easily be accessed by a short walk. The site is kept very clean and tidy. We liked the music in the lavatory block, pity the showers were of the constant push button type.
TV reception is poor and the free Wi-Fi is flaky.
A lovely well-run and well-maintained site in glorious country. Handy for Kielder and Hadrian's Wall. Bellingham is close by and has good range of shops and pubs. We will go again.
A really nice well kept site with friendly and helpful staff. The facilities were excellent and spotless and the site shop is well stocked. We stayed with our two dogs and the only thing that let us down was the weather! Also make sure you take pleanty of insect repllent!
hi all just back from our first ever camping trip with our 2 dogs at bellingham, weve had a fab four days, and could have stayed longer, all the staff were friendly and very helpfull, and the facilities were tiptop, the showers, toilets with music yes folcks music was an extra luxury, as was the laundry area, this park has everything you could possibly want from a camp site, localy the town of bellingham is about 1 mile away with a few shops, pubs, and nice walks along the river.
i no this site is the first camp site we have been on, it will be hard to find 1 better.
as arny always says i will be back.
A couple of friends and I, decided to visit this site, and could not have been happier. It was my second visit, and the site was as womderful as I remembered it.
We received a warm greeting when arriving on the site, checking in quickly, and were shown to our pitches, in the middle of the site, and advised which way to pitch the tents to get the most of the sun.
The toilet block is immaculate, always plenty of toilet roll, plenty sinks and shaving points, 3 large showers, and a stool for each, which I appreciated as I do need to sit down for a shower. The music was a nice touch too, I beleive it was radio 2 that was playing.
The shop is what you would expect, well laid out, selling the basics, along with some frozen foods, a tourist information point, with alot of leaflets and helpful staff.
The only negative I can say about this site, is during our stay, the wifi was not working, it was not the end of the world, and we had been previously advised it was not operating properly, however they are getting a new wifi system in, which will work alot better.
On the last trip I made to this site, I did the hairshaw'lynn walk, which was wonderful, but this time we opted to head to kielder, where we walked a small amount, then got the boat round the water. We didn't leave the site apart from to head into town, and get a chinese takeaway. The chinese is one of the best I have tasted, and the portions are large. I would advise sharing portions, between 2 people.
First trip out for many years, what a great site to begin again. Afer driving for 6 hours we were delighted when we turned into this lovely site with Super helpful staff, we soon settled into a great 4 days with lots to see in the area. The whole site is so clean and well cared for and the shower blocks were really top standard, lovely and warm and I loved the radio playing which always made me feel at home. Everything really was good, this site really sets the bar for others to live up to.
Friendly welcome by all staff on arrival.Park clean and tidy and staff on hand to help with a guide to the local area.Children's play area could do with more in it(only 2 swings and a roundabout).Village has a few shops but very little in the way of take aways for thoses who don't want to cook.Site shop is small but does stock the basic's.Keilder is well worth a visit to as it has alot in the way of activity's.
One of our top 2 sites, mainly for the welcome we always receive - it feels like coming home! Set in beautiful wild countryside yet with the village of Bellingham ( a genuine village and not a tourist hotspot)a short walk away. A short drive will take you to the attractions of Keilder water, the Roman wall and the towns of Hexham and Corbridge.
The site is easy to find and reception has loads of local information as well as a small shop with most essentials. Anything you can't find or are unsure of simply ask Barry or Carole. The site is level and someone will always direct you to your pitch and the toilet block is always immaculate.
We were astounded to read a review saying that the site was not child friendly! This is a happy and friendly site with a small playground and plenty of space between the pitches and most certainly our daughter(13) has received only warmth and friendship from everyone here. She was particularly impressed last year to see Barry walking around the site on a hot day with a bucketful of ice lollies! We have no hesitation in recommending the franchisees, the site, the village and the surrounding countryside.
Just returned from Bellingham and have had wonderful week. The staff were marvellous and the shower/toilet block was always immaculate. Have just read the other reviews and will fight for the last Magnum from the shop but can recommend the Chinese takeaway "happy valley" and the village itself had everything we needed for the weeks stay. We shall be back at some point.
What a lovely campsite!! The facilities were immaculate. Easy access to the town. Plenty of walks and Bike routes. Will definitely be going back!!

A very warm welcome was extended to us - a great first impression. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Carol and Barry, and their expert local knowledge meant that we explored the best of the locality. Showers and toilets were exceptionally well kept and spotlessly clean. Consequently, we had a lovely stay.
We spent 8 nights on this site over Easter and had a great time. The farm next door brought 2 lambs and a goat on site for the kids. The toilets/showers are brilliant, they are kept very clean. The people who run the site are helpful and nice. The area around the site is great for walking, cycling etc.
We have just spent two fantastic weeks up in Northumberland at this site. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. Good access to Kielder Water and Forest. A short walk into Bellingham, which has good pubs and shops.
We stayed here for 4 nights over Easter and had an amazing time.
Everything about the site is top class. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The toilets were immaculate and the shop sold all the basic essentials.
The views were spectacular and the site is ideally placed to visit much of Northumberland's attractions. Kielder Lake and Forest is only a short drive away, and several Hadrian's Wall sites are only a little further afield.
The village of Bellingham is less than a mile away and has everyhting you would expect of a small village.
We spent 4 nights with our two children and dog and wished we had booked for longer. We will definitely be returning before the end of the year.
Stunning countryside but not child friendly. Would benefit from being a little more relaxed about rules and do's and don'ts. Not that we wished to run a mock but its hard to confine children to a tiny play area, especially when the site was empty for the majority of the week.
If you have no kids do not be put off its a beautiful site and very well kept.
The site was particularly well maintained and the toilet block was immaculate. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Being early in the year the site was relatively quiet. Bellingham is a 3/4 mile walk and is a pleasant village with most of the amenities one would require. It was a pleasure to stay on the site.
DATE STAYED: March 2011
Everything on this site is 5 star and you will not meet a nicer couple than owners Barry and Carol. Facilities are the cleanest you will find on any site. Believe me i know. This site is for those who want to explore during the day and chill at night.
The site is extremely well maintained and well worth a visit. The on site shop is well stocked however dont buy a chocolate magnum as they are all for me.

We stayed here at the October half-term. This is a great little site in a great location. The toilets and showers are the cleanest we have ever seen, and we are fussy about these things. The site is compact and was quiet, particularly at night. It has a little shop with all the necessities.
Bellingham village was only a short walk away and it has everything you need. Can recommend the pies from the bakery. We found the Riverdale Hotel the best place to eat and drink and we had a delicious and reasonably priced meal in the bar.
This was our first time in Northumberland and we were pleasantly surprised by how much there is to do. The site wardens were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The weather wasn't great but we walked on Hadrians Wall and also visited the huge lake at Kielder Water.
We would recommend this site and we will visit it again, hopefully for longer next time.
DATE STAYED: October 2010
Nice site though staff a bit pernickety about pitches. Not the relaxed atmosphere usually found on club sites.
Within walking distance of Bellingham village.
DATE STAYED: July 2010
Was a very nice site but was far too quiet for the children, with the park closing at 8.15.
Have to say it was the 1st time my 12 yr old was in bed for 8.30.
DATE STAYED: August 2010
we were unfortunate to break down on the way to site,we arrived getting towed by AA. Staff at bellingham couldn't be more helpful, they even sited the caravan while we were sorting out our car problems. the site is very clean, the staff are all friendly and helpful. dog walk is great with no little surprises on the ground,we have been 3 times - would we go back - you bet we will.Only downside - yes there was one - no fault of site ,problem was on football pitch when England got beat by germany....Please try belligham you will not be disappointed
We continue to spend several days at this time of year in Bellingham - the site is very well maintained, and this includes extremely clean shower facilities. Perfect!
Bellingham town is only a short walk away from the caravan site; it has a well stocked a Co-op store, a newsagents, a Chinese take-away, a couple of banks, a homely tea shop and a few pubs! The town boasts the added attraction of their annual show (good fun for all) at the end of August. Also, not far from the caravan site, there are some scenic walks along the river bank - and beyond.
There's lots of Roman history in the area; also it's only a short drive to Kielder and, for example, to Otterburn.
Well worth a visit (or a return visit) - the site managers, Barry & Carole Howard are lovely people and who, in our opinion, run a first class site.
Fantastic two weeks. Immaculate facilities, very friendly and helpful staff. Good local provisions in nearby town. Excellent area for walkers, bikers, cyclist, and real ale drinkers. We will be back, and thank you to all the staff.
