This in only our third season and we still have a lot of sites to visit, but this one will take some beating. The staff were so pleasant and helpful, always smiling. The facilities were the best we have come across. I have never been to a site with such large shower areas, each with a toilet and wash basin, apart from the individual toilets and basins. The whole block was spotlessly clean. There was also a hairdryer, ( no coins required) . There are miles of walking or cycling, and lots of places to visit. Definitely a site to revisit .

We got in on a last minute booking and were still sited next to our friends unit on this Excellent site. It could do with a small toilet block furthest away from the office to save all the walking when it is wet. They seem to have an ongoing problem with the water pressure at times and the electric went off twice during our stay but upon saying that it did not put us off coming again.Staff and owners were really nice.

The wardens were very helpful and a really friendly welcome awaited us. The park opposite was excellent for long dog walks and then the pub was a welcome refreshment stop.
The site shop was useful with lots of little extra touches.
Well done to all the team, first class site, will hopefully return soon.

Visited this site for the 3rd time now, still as good as the 1st time, however, there seemed to be a problem with the water pressure when filling aquaroll. Site still clean and well kept. Had a lovely carvery at the Hardwick Inn 2 miles left out of site, well worth a visit. Bakewell about 22miles away where on a Monday they have a market. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble, even let us stay on until 4pm bank holiday Mon without paying additional fees. Well done keep up the good work. Will be back again.

What a fantastic site! The welcome was warm and the staff were brilliant throughout our stay. The pitch was of good size. The facilities are amazing - like a 5 star hotel! The area is wonderful for walking. We enjoyed hours in silverhill park opposite and walking many of the marked trails with the dog. Will definitely be back as a long weekend was not long enough! We've already recommended the site to family and friends!

If ever there was a template for a club site this is it. Cheerful, friendly, attentive staff. Facilities second to none there is even a shower for the dog/bike. Access is easy, staff even check if reversing/motor mover for vans so pitches are not too tight for your combination. Dog walk is about 6 square miles - across the road is reclaimed land managed for the community and you can walk as far or as little as you like. Thanks for a great time guys!

Although we are seasoned tenters, this was our very first trip out in our new caravan. The people on site were fantastic, they showed us to our pitch and helped us reverse the caravan onto it. We had forgotten to bring any blocks of wood to level the legs so they happily lent us some. We didn't need any more help but I imagine if we had, they would have jumped in immediately. We had visitors one day and they even showed them over to where we were pitched. The toilet block was without doubt the nicest, cleanest, best equipped one I have ever seen. The shop was well stocked and there was a hut with leaflets on the local area, books and magazines to borrow and even menus for the local pub and take-aways. The pot-washing area for tenters was also really well equipped. The play area was good and was a big hit with our children. There were plenty of water points, recyling areas and elsan points. We were quite near to one of these areas but it was so nicely done that you didn't even notice it was there.
Right across the road is the start of one of the Teversal trails where we went for a lovely walk and there is plenty of other things to do in the local area.
All in all, I don't think I could have bettered this campsite.

We arrived 18th March, in very cold weather, but was given a very warm welcome. we had booked grass with electric but asked if we could go on hard standing but was given an all weather pitch, which was excellent, I wish all sites had these.
I agree with all comments below with regards to the toilets and showers they really have to be seen to be believed, a life saver in the freezing temperatures we had.
Great days out exploring the Peak District, and had lovely food in the carnarvon arms, and Hardwick inn. Plus great walks just across the road from the site ,our dog loved it. Will definitely be booking again.

Stayed for one night. Staff were fantastic, always there if you need anything. Facilities like the toilets, water disposal, bins were spotless. Not one bit of litter in sight. Like the way the toilet block is separated into gender and disability. The Teversal Trail was a good way to spend the Saturday afternoon, on our bikes around the trail and we ended up at (correct me if I'm wrong) Peasley Pit with a mine from the late 1970's.
Out of 10, I would say 8. Improvements could be that there is a Late Arrivals area before the barrier and reception, to allow people who are delayed, a spot and electrics overnight.

One Word..Fantastic! We stayed there three nights on the Low Season and it was just paradise. Overlooked by nature, the campsite is a great place to take videos and pictures. Me and my grandson decided to go on a bike ride VIA the Tissington Trail, which is very close to the Camping and Caravanning Site. We are part of the Caravan Club, so it was good to relate the two companies with the cleanliness, facilities and staff, and I can't tell the difference because they are both wonderful!

Our 2nd year running at this time of year staying at Teversal its a Fantastic site, staff always very friendly, site very clean and toilets / shower facilities are best we have ever seen on a campsite.
Pitches are reasonably level although you may need to raise the van slightly on one side, pleanty of hard standing pitches too.
Only Critisism, is we have a large van and awning, which fills the picth eassily and sometimes expands beyong teh hardstanding area itself, and leaves us nowhere to park the car except in the drive way area
The staff even contacted us to tell us we left opur caravan steps behind.
There are some great walks and cycling routes in the area for the more active amongst you.
With an Designer Outlet Village and Nottingham being s hort drive away its great if you want some retail therapy too.
The Caernavon Pub at end of teh road is a must, its a great atmosphere and serves great food, without being too pricey.
Will be back to this site again.

Very friendly, well run site. Our first time with a caravan (finally had to admit I'm to old for camping) and when I mentioned this the staff found me a nice easy pitch to reverse onto. The facilities at this site are 5 star and absolutely spotless. We will be visiting again without a doubt. One thing to point out though, if you are travelling from the south, don't let your Sat Nav bring you off the M1 at J28. This takes you through the village of Huthwaite and you will need to negotiate a very steep hill with traffic lights at the top resulting in three or four hill starts at busy times. Plan your route using J29 of the M1 for your clutches sake.

Just had a two night visit. Last visited in February when the site was almost empty, this time full and it looks a lot smaller when full! Usual friendly welcome and assistance in parking on the pitch. In fact the same pitch! We tow a German van (door on the wrong side) so the infamous fire regulations came into force! The site was very clean and tidy and the facilities! Well, the facilities are five star without a doubt. Each shower room has its own sink and w.c., making it so easy to complete your morning or evening ablutions. The only thing I am not sold on 100% is the sensor operated showers. I suffer from tinnitus and deafness and any water in the ear is a sure recipe for infection. I found the sensor difficult to operate and stand out of the water stream but they are still far superior to the old push button type. If you haven't visited Teversal yet, do it soon you won't be disappointed.

Lovely site, but the pitches are quite close together, so when full [as it was each weekend we were there] we were very overlooked and we had no views. The facilities are lovely, but again when the site is busy, I had to use my caravan shower as there were always queues in the morning, meaning my husband just had to wait in the queue. Don't accept a pitch close to the recycling areas as there is constant annoying noises as people deposit their waste. The nearby M1 could be heard an annoying background hum all the time. The wi-fi reception was quite poor most of the time, especially when the site was full. The Silver Hill walks were beautiful, however, there was a great deal of dog mess on the paths so caution is needed especially if you take children there. This of course, is not any fault of the site wardens. We tow our caravan with a VW T32 van, there was no problem for us with this on the site, however, a couple we met have a similar van [T5], but without windows to the rear and they had to leave theirs in the car park even though there was no livery on it. And yet, a taxi with licence plates and livery was allowed on site - where is the logic in this? We did feel that, whilst the facilities are indeed fantastic, they were inadequate at busy times. Our pitch was super serviced and the drain was rather smelly. Whilst we were there a small building quite close to our pitch was demolished over a period of 3 days, This was noisy and dusty - we were not informed that this was going to happen, at the time of booking or at any time whilst we were there.

Richard reviewed Teversal Club Campsite...
Overall our stay was very good, very nice people and a well kept site, however i feel i must express a few opions which led to my scoring of the facilities. First of all, it rained alot whilst we were there, and as we were "tenting" we obviously expected to get wet. However we were not expecting to get muddy, this is due to the poor drainage of the pitch we were given, the water (there was alot) could not drain away fast enough, and when we took the tent up, the mud underneath was disgusting. It made using the tent almost unusable, as the floor underneath the sown in groundsheet was like a squidgy bog, which had a foul smell too it. One other thing, the toilet block; dont get me wrong it looks great and is well kept, however in the gents there were only two toilets, and three urinals. The other toilets are actually in the shower cubicles, and there are only five of them, so for the first time i found myself having to queue. And as nice as the showers look, the shower head is mounted in the ceiling, not good if you dont want to wash your hair, but the worst part is the movement sensor which turns them on. You have to get right underneath to activate it, and it lasts for upto 20 second (more like ten in my experience), and it has to go off before you can wave at it to get it to come on again, and when it does re-start you get a second of burning hot water. Not good when you are covered in mud and want a long shower!
The weather was extreme, and i am picking at a few things, it is a great site, just these few things could do with improving.

We've just come back from a short break at Teversal and will certainly return there in the future; the temperamental British weather didn't spoil our enjoyment one bit! The staff were very welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived, the site is a lovely size, with well maintained pitches and amenities for caravanners and campers alike. My daughter liked the play area and shop ('nice selection of magazines & sweets'). We both thought the shower/toilet facilities were superb, and the site is perfectly placed for exploring the surrounding area (if only it had a pool it would be 5* all round!). We both highly recommend it to others!

This was a two night stopover site on return from an action packed holiday in France and we had to comment on the amazing facilities. Especially the toilets and showers! I never thought I could get so excited about a toilet and shower block but it really was like staying in a hotel! Staff were very friendly and accommodated us a day early when we left the last site in France due to experiencing toilets and showers at the other end of the camping spectrum. We will definitely be back - if only for a shower! We got exactly what we wanted - two quiet nights in a pleasant location. And did we mention the showers.....?

Very warm welcome, fast, efficient booking in and shown to pitch within 10 mins.
Everyone raves about the wash room facilities, so I’m not going to, as we were not disappointed.
Walking, cycling excellent starting point (just across the road), 5 pits trail and many miles of good cycle tracks on disused railway lines with stunning views.
A mature site, with plenty of dividing hedges and greenery which can lead to people forgetting they have neighbours and to be quiet.
Only criticisms of camp site, tents are vastly out numbered, seems more a place for camper vans and caravans which are noisy at dawn and bed time dismantling beds and assembling beds respectively.
The site roads are over gravelled which when vehicles are travelling over late at night is disturbing.
I do think tents get a raw deal when hooked up to electric. Camper vans, caravans and American motor homes get more for their money.
The shop is well stocked and a morning paper is available.
Pub is within walking distance but super markets are further afield but plenty of choice.
We stayed for a week and cycled everyday. There are a couple of ponds nearby where you can feed the swans and ducks.
Well worth a stay, 5 star.

We arrived from the Midlands after a good 2 hour journey to be greeted with a warm & friendly welcome. Thankfully we were guided onto our allocated pitch & pitched up quick & easily. (Think it was the quickest we have ever done!)
The washrooms/toilets were spotless with plenty of room in each cubicle & showers were lovely and warm.
Exactly opposite was the Silverhill wood which was a fantastic walk for our dogs, where we were able to let them off leads without worrying about nearby roads etc. It's ideal if you love walking or cycling as there are endless trails to follow that lead into the heart of the forest. The Carnarvon pub was only a short 2 min walk at the end of the road and we sat with our dogs in the lovely secluded garden. Staff were friendly & pleasant & even brought a bowl of water out for our dogs. The food looked lovely, although we didn't get chance to sample it!
The dog & bike shower is a fantastic idea, luckily we didn't need it as the weather held out & we had a lovely couple nights stay. Wish we could have stayed longer, but would recommend a re-visit.

Stayed for 5 nights. Our pitch had excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Very frendly and helpful managers and staff. The toilet block was fanastic, easily the best i have seen on any site. The whole site was very well equipped with picnic tables and benches to use. Plenty of walking starting across the road in the Silverhill woods. Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth within easy reach also Bolsover Castle is worth visiting. excellent fish and chips from the local chippy. Will definatly be back as only 1 1/2 hours drive from home.

Easy access to many excellent cycling / walking trails mostly created along the routes of the now disused pit railways. The Pleasley Pit is being restored by volunteers and a conducted tour is usually available. Hardwick Hall, a National Trust property is close by. Public transport to many of the nearby towns and villages is near to the site. Local pub serves meals, takeaways deliver on site and local fish and shop is about a mile away.We had a super 3 days despite mixed weather and will certainly be back.

Absolutely beautiful.
First, the warm welcome, good information, well stocked shop and helpful owners/wardens, choice of pitch too.
Secondly, it is immaculate.Everywhere. The shower rooms wouldn't look out of place in a 4 star hotel. Spacious and spotlessly clean.
Good laundry facilities and the parent and child facilities also looked far beyond adequate.
All the extra touches. A dog/bike shower. And how useful was that when my dogs decided to roll in smelly fox poo!
The toilet cassette emptying place also has a wash hand basin with soap, electric hand drier and a paper dispenser for wiping off the cassette.
VERY well organised recycling bins and bins emptied daily.
A well stocked shop, and immaculately kept grounds and pitches.
The walking, which starts exactly opposite the entrance gate, is fantastic. Beautiful views, miles of pathways through forestry.
The weather was awful during my stay but the staff were out all the time, gardening when they could, checking drains as there was torrential rain.
Please can I come and live here? Failing that, I shall return for another enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Could not give this site less than 5* all round.

This was my fourth stay at Teversal and it won't be my last. Although resident in Somerset I was born five miles away from the site (many, many years ago!)and use it as a base for visiting cousins, etc.
The welcome is second to none, the facilities are to die for and I had my own level, fenced, grassy pitch complete with picnic bench, opposite the water point - perfect! If there is one (very) slight niggle, it's that gravel everywhere - you can't slink off to the loo in the middle of the night without a lot of crunch, crunch, crunching announcing your departure and return!
The Carnarvon Arms is only two or three hundred metres away for nice cooked food but, beware, a pint of premium lager is £4.50, ouch! Fish and chips are a short drive away and are excellent
There's little else to say, really. It's a terrific site and possibly the best I have been to on the C & C Club's network.

From the minute we pulled in to a warm welcome to the toasty warm shower rooms and immaculate site we knew we were onto a winner. Wish all sites came up to this standard. Lots to do off site such as walking or cycling without having to take our van off pitch. Teversal came highly recommended to us and we have already told other caravanning friends. Just a small grumble the lights go off too quickly in the shower block and the 'magic eye' shower controller is a bit erratic. But other than that a fantastic place to visit.

When booking our trip to Teversal over the Bank Holiday weekend we too read several reviews and were definately not disappointed. This site is not just about how splendid the toilets are, the staff that run it offer the best customer service I have ever experienced. Whether it was guiding in experienced or inexperienced towers onto their pitch's in one manouvre or just having a chit chat about the weather, nothing was too much trouble. The reason we chose this site was that it is ideally located providing immediate access to the Silverhill Trail and in turn the Phoenix Greenways - miles of family friendly and, very much under-utilised, traffic free cycling. The Canarvon pub/restaurant is only 5 minutes walk away and serves great food if your don't want to cook dinner yourself. The site is clean and tidy with helpful staff. We arrived a day after heavy snow and the staff were more than obliging in advising us of weather updates before we set off. Two minor gripes - the lighting in the washing up area did not seem to work (sensors?) and the shower sensors needed to be constantly 'waved' at. If they go off then the next burst of water is piping hot and not a pleasant experience. That said the toilet/shower block was the best presented I have see on ANY CCC site!

Toilets/showers are home from home. Spotless and well maintained. This was our first stay at a club site since joining, what a suprise we had!
We have been members of "the other club" for years and have been mostly satisfied with the sites and services.
However upon arrival the friendly site staff gave us the best welcome ever.
We were escorted to our pitch, advised re facilities etc, nothing seemed to much trouble to them.
The icing on the cake for me was when i discovered a problem with my hook up lead. I went to the office, explained my problem and within minutes was presented with a lead for the duration of our stay. What service!!!!
So folks in a nutshell....superb site, the best toilet block we have ever seen ,fantastic staff and a great location!!

I was booked into this site by Oaktree Motorhomes, when I came to change up my motorhome from a Swift Royale 610 to an Autotrail Scout SE.
I was greeted by Jayne Woods, who was really lovely and I subsquently dealth with other members of staff, all of whom were equally brilliant Ambassadors for the establishment and the Camping and Caravan Club.
Jayne and I joked that, we Caravan Club members tend to think our sites are a tad better than the C&CClub sites and I promised Jayne I'd give her my opinion, post stay.
I have to say I eat my words as this Site is the bees knees. The facilities block is easily to the standard of a four star hotel and I loved the fact that there is even a dog and bike wash. A facility not many Caravan Club sites can boast.
I would throughly recommend this Site to anyone.

Have stayed at this site several times in the past 3 years. The staff are very friendly, the grounds are very well maintained, and the shower/toilet facilities are to die for - put a lot of good hotels to shame. The dedicated family rooms in the shower block are excellent and you'd have no concerns about bathing even the youngest baby - everything has been well thought out with inbuilt baby bath, secure toddler seating, changing station etc etc. Its such a lovely change to want to use the warm, clean, germ and 'spider free' facilities. My husband and I agreed its the nicest site we've stayed on. I know that its not heavily wooded or set against a lovely backdrop of mountains but this is something they can't control.
The site has easy access (you must follow the directions in the handbook). There is a good dog walk across the road outside the site, but otherwise not masses to do in the immediate area. However as its on the Nottingham/Derbyshire border and not far from Bakewell/Chatsworth there are several places a relatively short drive away. We'll be returning again.

This is the first time I have ever been invited on to the site at 12 o'clock! We were parked in the layby outside, waiting for the magic hour to arrive, and one of the Managers tapped on our window, and said we could come on site. Amazing!! Sometimes you can feel unwelcome just after 12 noon, but not here. What a wonderful bunch of Managers!!
It just kept on getting better! Good hardstandings, fabulous toilet block - and a 5-star elsan point. This had somewhere to put your tops and slide, so they didn't go down the hole, a wash basin with hot & cold water and soap, and either a hand drier or paper towels.
I would recommend this site for disabled campers, as it had a bricked pathway over the gravel to the toilet block, with a good disabled suite.
We shall definitely go back as it was central for so many things, with the Peak District on the doorstep.
Many thanks to the Managers for making our stay so pleasant!

The best loos that we have as yet encountered, although we would question the wisdom of using multi facility bathrooms rather than separate toilets and showers, as this might lead to queuing.
The site was very busy when we arrived, popular with families in the half term break, and the wardens were a bit stressed, but they were polite and efficient. Booking early seems to be a good idea.
There are great opportunities for safe cycling starting right outside the camp, with an extensive network of ex railway paths. It is also convenient for visits to Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth.

One small very downside is I registered for the annual club site WI FI at Adgestone IOW thinking it would be available on all club sites only to find it would not work here.Very nice about it, but there should be a concession for those who registered in good faith and find we have to pay extra to use the facility. Magnificent five star toilet and facilities are to be found on this site. Site is conveniently located as stop off point being five miles off the M1 at junction 28 (stop over being subject to the Caravan Club’s minimum 2 day stay rule for caravans and motorhomes over weekend periods !). Set in six acres of land, but with 128 pitches a bit cramped at busy periods. Warden’s amazingly friendly offing helpful advice on local attractions, walks and cycle rides. Franchisees have gone the extra mile with this site, benches around site, magazines in laundry, seating and tables on patio by wash-up, plenty on bin areas, water around the site. Site shop is very well stocked with fresh local baked bread and daily newspapers. Adjoining Silverhill Park provides convenient dog walking and fantastic 360 degree views from top of hill at the ‘Miner Testing For Gas’ statue. Close by Hardwick Hall (National Trust) and Hardwick Old Hall (English Heritage) set in the centre of Hardwick Hall Country Park are well worth a visit. Other attractions in the area but require car ride (not convenient in a large motorhome !). Water on site is very hard with distinct chemical taste! Need bottled water for drinks which is available on site at £ 1.00/bottle. Overall worth a visit - if only to use the toilet and shower block !

we can only describe the site and the staff as superb, nothing was to much trouble, the staff bent over backwards to help us when my car broke down, and we had to have a breakdown truck home.
Our children visited us and thought the toilets were the best and cleanest they had seen anywhere.
many thanks once again to all the staff,
and we will be back to finish where we started.

Very well kept site and facilities. The only down side was the non existent play equipment for toddlers (my 2 year old missed out as we only book sites with these facilities) - not even a swing/slide - which made it difficult having an older child who could play there.

Booked for two nights left after one, like camping in a car park, no idea what happened to the cars parked in the 6 metre area must be at least 3 metres, warden took us to pitch, next door car was less than a foot away and we still could not put awning up without encroaching on kit laid out for next pitch.Gravel noisy and there seemed to be a lot of coming and going late and early. Toilet block is spectacular but overkill

Dropped in for a couple of days. Wished it had been more but we'll be back. Welcoming wardens, excellent facilities, including magnificent bathrooms. To be able to walk or cycle the trails just across the road is excellent. Plenty to explore in the area. Something for everyone. One could even invite friends without unitts for a spot of luxurious "glamping".

Just got back from a lovely weekend at this site in Teversal. It was a very new site with alot of gravel, which i do find a little of putting as you can't nip to the loo in the middle of the night without everyone knowing but very well layed out and tidy. The showers were out of this world, i couldn't wait to get up in the morning to use them. Other facilities such as shop, washing up, waste cleaning etc were great and the kids enjoyed the play area. If you want a super super well tidy, very very clean and organised site then this is for you.

Agree with all previous comments about the 5* toilet block but other points very useful: Staff are so friendly, dog/cycle shower great, lots of bins, well lit all night, spotless clean site, handy shop with good prices. *Very* welcoming of dogs and great facilities all round. Every new arrival I saw was personally shown to their pitch with a smile and a wave to everyone they saw. Debby and the team seem to be genuinely enjoy being the best! Will return as soon as I can!

A wonderful and well run site that combines the seclusion of the countryside with the availability of a public transport system nearby to the nearest towns. (essential if your a motorhome owner not towing a car or other means). The facilities, e.g. washrooms, laundry, dishwashing, toilets, waste disposal etc. were sparkling clean and easily accessible. The on-site shop, though small seemed to stock all the essentials at a reasonable price. Nearby walks through silverhill (I think) and the former site of teversal coal mine were well worth a visit as was the the local pub (the famous Carnarvon Arms)only 300 yds away and one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Wow what a 6* weekend we have just had glamping at Teversal and what friendly and helpful staff! Teversal's fabulous Safari tents are ideal for families like us but would also suit those less agile who maybe thought their camping or caravaning days were over. Luxury with a capital L. We were lucky to get a late booking which I am sure is only because word has not go out yet. Judging by the the attention they were drawing from other campers it will soon! Stayed here twice in 2010 as my father was hospitalised in Sheffield for several months and could travel there on public transport. The staff were all brilliant - very helpful and no problem when I had to stay at the hospital overnight. Stayed again in April this year just for a holiday (my father sadly died in November). Everyone just as helpful and was nice to be remembered!! The site is great and the showers are fantastic - proper wet rooms and absolutely spotless. The Safari Tents were just completed whilst I was there - they are a fabulous idea, look wonderful and the web photos don't do them justice. All in all a fabulous site - only problem is the wet rooms spoil you for any other sites!

Finally I get some time to write this review. This is the BEST site we have stayed on(we have done a few being addicted to the great outdoors). We first used this site in out tent in 2009 and the facilities are superb and have remainded so. The staff are always warm and friendly be it sunny or raining side ways. We have a caravan now and it is still the same great feeling. No need to move the car once you have arrived, great walks across the road and a great pub down the road (book). We are back again soon and are really looking forward to it...

Our favourite site, we have stayed here a fews times now and have booked a longer break for August. The shower block is second to none, the staff are very friendly. Quiet site with a small shop which stocks any essential. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful site. We have just returned home after 3 night mid week break in early May. Facilities here are absolutely fantastic - beautiful showers/toilet facilities (with no queueing during our stay), peaceful pitch, all very clean and well laid out, plus friendly staff. Well done to those running the site, you have got it spot on. Did a local walk up to the 16th century pub, the Hardwick Inn, where we had a great ploughmans lunch. Also did some more challenging walking in Derbyshire peak district, which entailed a drive there of about 45 mins. Good local carvery for only £4.99 at the pub next to the cricket ground (I think it was called the Teversal Grange - about a 15 min walk),where they also run a Salsa class on a monday night, and do weekend 70s/80s/motown nights some friday/saturday nights. There is also a pub called the Carnarvon Arms which is a 5 minute walk from campsite - this is more like a gastro pub, but we didn't eat there so can't comment. There was, however, some live music on a Tuesday night, but not that many in. Had beautiful weather for walking, which always helps, although there was frost on the tent on the first night! Hope this review helps others - if in doubt - book, you won't be disappointed.

Visited during Easter and even though the site was full it was very well kept and clean, as mentioned in other reports the toilet facilities have to be the best by a long way from the ones we've visited, both club and commercial sites. For the active their are several walks and cycle routes with direct access from the site, good for children and adults, the Teversal Trail Visitor Centre is close and the volunteers there are a great source of local knowledge freely given, top class bacon sandwiches and coffee !

This is the most fantastic site we have been to. The shower block is awesome. Spotless, warm and very well thought out. The showers were hot and adjustable spacious with toilet and basin in the unit and large enough with lots of hanging space. Underfloor heating makes this a very pleasant experience even when the weather is -1 degrees! Makes taking the children for a shower a much easier process too. Good walks around and easy access to East Midlands designer outlet and walks all around the site. One small downfall was the local youths who used the adjacent car park to play loud music till late at night this was sorted satisfactorily by the police.

Site staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. We went in March and were the only tent there (not surprising at that time of year, no one else daft enough!). We were up on a little hill with our back to some hedges which proved noisy in a morning due to the inhabiting birds.
The pitch suited our Icarus 500 tent fine but I have no doubt anything larger wouldn’t fit and it seems that even in busier months the site would be predominantly caravans. The toilets were being refurbed when we visited but half was complete and out of this world. I haven’t seen better in a five star hotel. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for the toilet block/ showers.
The site itself is small but with adequate facilities including small shop and playground but we didn’t have kids with us so can’t really comment. Washing up area was clean and tidy and there was a clothes airer outside for those who needed to hang items out to dry.
Nearby, there is the Teversal Trails straight across the road which made a fantastic walk and would have made an even better bike ride if we’d taken the bikes but we do plan to return and we will take them next time. There’s a fab pub a few minutes walk down the road called The Carnarvon which is well worth a visit. Food prices are slighter higher than average but not expensive, extremely good and highly recommended. Booking is necessary for weekends. There is a co-op supermarket in nearby Teversal.
The only negative would be that you have to pay for electric hook up (Club Service Pitch £3.50 per night per unit) even if you don’t need it but that hasn’t put us off revisiting and we definitely plan to stay there again.

we visited this site 2 years ago and were impressed then. This time we were even more impressed. The new shower blocks are the best we have ever come across, here or abroad (and we have visited a lot). The underfloor heating and individual cubicles with shower, toilet, wash basin, mirrors and plenty of hanging space and shelving made them a delight to use.
The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.
The refurbished pub within easy walking distance served good food and is very nice, although the drinks were a bit pricey.

The area close by was excellent for dog walking - Silverhill Country Park is literally across the road. 100yards away is what looked like a nice Pub/restaurant, although we did not sample it this time.
Thank you for providing us with a great place to stay.
The only downside was that we could only stay for 2 nights.

We were caravanning in two units, over a long weekend in August with my sister, brother in law and our two dogs. The welcome from staff was very good who took time, even though they were busy, to accommodate our needs as best they could, as we had booked quite late in the day.
The site was almost full with couples, and families but never seemed crowded or noisy and the showers/ wet rooms were spotless and the best we have ever used we didn't have to wait in the mornings and even the mens showers were kept to the same high standard as the ladies, not always the case so I am informed by my husband.
Walks that were very dog friendly were fantastic and just on the door step, but it would be nice to think that everyone would pick up their dogs poop to keep these walks as nice for everyone else.
A really good pub, though again very busy and you would be advised to book at weekends, just a few minutes walk away made our break one of the best so far this season. We are looking forward to going back for New Year.

Our very first foray out as motorhome owners was made successful by the friendliness and help from Jayne & Chris. Nothing was too much trouble & we were sold on membership to the club based on their service.
Site was brilliant, well looked after and clean great shower/washroom facilities. Local pub 5mins walked down the road serving great meals. Lovely walks near by and pretty villages. Handy for Nottingham / Mansfield / Newark / Lincoln.
Definately on our revisit list.
