From the moment we arrived a fantastic stay was assured, what a smile we were greeted with! Even though the ground was very boggy clever assistance from the wardens made sure car and units were kept well away from the soft stuff! Beautifully kept grounds, a very swish shower complex and easy access to some stunning scenery made our weekend. Why cant more be as friendly?

Weather terrible, site great. Staff very helpful and let us stay for an extra couple of hours to take advantage of the cycle trails before we left, as it was the only day it wasn't pouring with rain and blowing a gale. Would definitely recommend for a quiet break, with plenty of things to see/visit nearby.

I stayed here in April 2010, for a weekend and was not allowed to keep my towing vehicle next to my caravan, which is a 2008 Vauxhall Vivaro van with no signage writing on it,I was refused by the site manager,Chris Woods because it was a Van, my vehicle had to be left in the car park, so I'll not be going to Teversal again

We camped here for two nights. The weather was quite wet but the site was excellent. The pitch was secluded with hard standing for the car and electric. The shower block was very good and the underfloor heating was perfect especially as the outside temperatures were close to zero overnight. We walked to Herdwick Hall which is worth a visit but be aware that the walk using the tracks is more like 5 miles than the advertised 3 ! All in all a great stay - we'll be back !

Second visit within a month and the welcome was just as brilliant as the first. Nothing is too much bother for the staff.
Facilities were excellent for Vicki who is a wheelchair user, and just as good for everyone else. Really reccomended for disabled people.(though manual wheelchairs will need someone to push over the gravel) Brilliant for the doggies as well with Silverhill just across the road.
Many thanks to Mick & Sue for a couple of wonderful weekends. We will be back soon.

Our first experience of the Club and will be hard to beat! Wardens very friendly and efficient, backed us onto the pitch with ease. We'd heard great things about the showers and weren't dissapointed. Kids were happy with the playground and such a great location if good on a bike. We shall certainly visit again.

The reason we chose this site was that it is ideally located providing immediate access to the Silverhill Trail and in turn the Phoenix Greenways - miles of family friendly and, very much under-utilised, traffic free cycling. The Canarvon pub/restaurant is only 5 minutes walk away and serves great food if your don't want to cook dinner yourself. The site is clean and tidy with helpful staff. We arrived a day after heavy snow and the staff were more than obliging in advising us of weather updates before we set off. Two minor gripes - the lighting in the washing up area did not seem to work (sensors?) and the shower sensors needed to be constantly 'waved' at. If they go off then the next burst of water is piping hot and not a pleasant experience. That said the toilet/shower block was the best presented I have see on ANY CCC site!

We have just got back from our stay and one word to describe this site is "Fantastic" it has everything to offer. We arrived and the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were taken to our pitch and guided in, nothing was too much trouble. The on site facilities are brilliant. Toilets/showers are home from home. Spotless and well maintained. Across from the site you have a country park where you can take various walks, just pick up a guide from the reception and off you go. This was our first visit but I guarantee won't be our last because it's well worth another visit with lots to do in and around the area.

This was our first stay at a club site since joining, what a suprise we had!
We have been members of "the other club" for years and have been mostly satisfied with the sites and services.
However upon arrival the friendly site staff gave us the best welcome ever.
We were escorted to our pitch, advised re facilities etc, nothing seemed to much trouble to them.
The icing on the cake for me was when i discovered a problem with my hook up lead. I went to the office, explained my problem and within minutes was presented with a lead for the duration of our stay. What service!!!!
So folks in a nutshell....superb site, the best toilet block we have ever seen ,fantastic staff and a great location!!
WE WILL RETURN....THANKYOU.

What a wonderful site! We arrived on Boxing Day, myself, my husband and two kids and stayed until 30th Dec and had a really relaxing break. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with explaining the numerous walks that started practically on the campsite. The facilities are the cleanest and most modern we have ever used on a campsite, in fact they are better than some hotels we have stayed in! We will definately be back, probably for Christmas again, but hopefully before.

I was booked into this site by Oaktree Motorhomes, when I came to change up my motorhome from a Swift Royale 610 to an Autotrail Scout SE.
I was greeted by Jayne Woods, who was really lovely and I subsquently dealth with other members of staff, all of whom were equally brilliant Ambassadors for the establishment and the Camping and Caravan Club.
Jayne and I joked that, we Caravan Club members tend to think our sites are a tad better than the C&CClub sites and I promised Jayne I'd give her my opinion, post stay.
I have to say I eat my words as this Site is the bees knees. The facilities block is easily to the standard of a four star hotel and I loved the fact that there is even a dog and bike wash. A facility not many Caravan Club sites can boast.
I would throughly recommend this Site to anyone.

Having used the site, for the last 3 years. It just keeps on getting better. The staff are 1st class nothing is too much trouble. The shower block has to be seen to be believed. It is immaculate. There are several eating establishments within 10 minuets drive. But better still there is one within 5 minutes walk. It has plenty of hard standing plots for winter. It also has Cycle and dog washing facilities. It is 7.6 Miles from Junction 29 M1. I would recommend this site as it is 1st class.

Have stayed at this site several times in the past 3 years. The staff are very friendly, the grounds are very well maintained, and the shower/toilet facilities are to die for - put a lot of good hotels to shame. The dedicated family rooms in the shower block are excellent and you'd have no concerns about bathing even the youngest baby - everything has been well thought out with inbuilt baby bath, secure toddler seating, changing station etc etc. Its such a lovely change to want to use the warm, clean, germ and 'spider free' facilities. My husband and I agreed its the nicest site we've stayed on. I know that its not heavily wooded or set against a lovely backdrop of mountains but this is something they can't control.
The site has easy access (you must follow the directions in the handbook). There is a good dog walk across the road outside the site, but otherwise not masses to do in the immediate area. However as its on the Nottingham/Derbyshire border and not far from Bakewell/Chatsworth there are several places a relatively short drive away. We'll be returning again.

We just turned up after looking through the book. They were very accomodating and friendly. The site is located across the road from a big network of old railway paths, so great for cycling and walking.
Facilities all very clean with big shower cubicals.
We extended our stay from 1 night to 2, due to the great level cycling routes.
All pitches are hard standing with loads of grass but and all with electric.
Would definitely recommend.

This is the first time I have ever been invited on to the site at 12 o'clock! We were parked in the layby outside, waiting for the magic hour to arrive, and one of the Managers tapped on our window, and said we could come on site. Amazing!! Sometimes you can feel unwelcome just after 12 noon, but not here. What a wonderful bunch of Managers!!
It just kept on getting better! Good hardstandings, fabulous toilet block - and a 5-star elsan point. This had somewhere to put your tops and slide, so they didn't go down the hole, a wash basin with hot & cold water and soap, and either a hand drier or paper towels.
I would recommend this site for disabled campers, as it had a bricked pathway over the gravel to the toilet block, with a good disabled suite.
We shall definitely go back as it was central for so many things, with the Peak District on the doorstep.
Many thanks to the Managers for making our stay so pleasant!

The best loos that we have as yet encountered, although we would question the wisdom of using multi facility bathrooms rather than separate toilets and showers, as this might lead to queuing.
The site was very busy when we arrived, popular with families in the half term break, and the wardens were a bit stressed, but they were polite and efficient. Booking early seems to be a good idea.
There are great opportunities for safe cycling starting right outside the camp, with an extensive network of ex railway paths. It is also convenient for visits to Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth.

Immediately we arrived we were given a warm welcome. I requested advice on local transport into Nottingham and site manager was very helpful with various options. The best washroom facilties I think we have ever seen, with individual shower cubicles, better than we have at home!
One small very downside is I registered for the annual club site WI FI at Adgestone IOW thinking it would be available on all club sites only to find it would not work here.Very nice about it, but there should be a concession for those who registered in good faith and find we have to pay extra to use the facility. Thought I already done this!!!
Nice site and lovely people would come back again.

Magnificent five star toilet and facilities are to be found on this site. Site is conveniently located as stop off point being five miles off the M1 at junction 28 (stop over being subject to the Caravan Club’s minimum 2 day stay rule for caravans and motorhomes over weekend periods !). Set in six acres of land, but with 128 pitches a bit cramped at busy periods. Warden’s amazingly friendly offing helpful advice on local attractions, walks and cycle rides. Franchisees have gone the extra mile with this site, benches around site, magazines in laundry, seating and tables on patio by wash-up, plenty on bin areas, water around the site. Site shop is very well stocked with fresh local baked bread and daily newspapers. Adjoining Silverhill Park provides convenient dog walking and fantastic 360 degree views from top of hill at the ‘Miner Testing For Gas’ statue. Close by Hardwick Hall (National Trust) and Hardwick Old Hall (English Heritage) set in the centre of Hardwick Hall Country Park are well worth a visit. Other attractions in the area but require car ride (not convenient in a large motorhome !). Water on site is very hard with distinct chemical taste! Need bottled water for drinks which is available on site at £ 1.00/bottle. Overall worth a visit - if only to use the toilet and shower block !

Just got back from a lovely weekend at this site in Teversal. It was a very new site with alot of gravel, which i do find a little of putting as you can't nip to the loo in the middle of the night without everyone knowing but very well layed out and tidy. The showers were out of this world, i couldn't wait to get up in the morning to use them. Other facilities such as shop, washing up, waste cleaning etc were great and the kids enjoyed the play area. If you want a super super well tidy, very very clean and organised site then this is for you.

A wonderful and well run site that combines the seclusion of the countryside with the availability of a public transport system nearby to the nearest towns. (essential if your a motorhome owner not towing a car or other means). The facilities, e.g. washrooms, laundry, dishwashing, toilets, waste disposal etc. were sparkling clean and easily accessible. The on-site shop, though small seemed to stock all the essentials at a reasonable price. Nearby walks through silverhill (I think) and the former site of teversal coal mine were well worth a visit as was the the local pub (the famous Carnarvon Arms)only 300 yds away and one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Everyone just as helpful and was nice to be remembered!! The site is great and the showers are fantastic - proper wet rooms and absolutely spotless. The Safari Tents were just completed whilst I was there - they are a fabulous idea, look wonderful and the web photos don't do them justice. this was our first experience of holidaying with a caravan , we have upgraded from a tent so we didnt quite know what to expect , when we arrived the couple on reception were very friendly , we were shown to our pitch which was very spacious and private , water and disposal area very close , the shower / toilet block were out of this world the best i have ever seen and our daughter loved the play area , the site felt very safe didnt mind letting our daughter walk to the shop and around the site on her own , not always the case on some sites , the walks across the road are lovely , shops close by , but onsite shop stocks good selestion of most needed items , staff very helpful , site extremely clean , will be visiting again without a doubt

Just returned from a 4 night break at this lovely site, and as usual, we recieved a warm, friendly welcome. Toilet and showers are the best we have ever seen, and the site looked great. They now have Safari tents for hire, which have everything you need, and looked very inviting. We will be going back again very soon.

Fantastic site, fantastic toilets and showers and fantastic people. Need we say any more? There a great walk right outside the site too, great for kids and bikes and dogs. Plenty to do too not too far from there. Well stocked shop with home made bread and local produce. Word of warning though, the road surfaces in the village is abysmal. Never seen to many potholes.

Finally I get some time to write this review. This is the BEST site we have stayed on(we have done a few being addicted to the great outdoors). We first used this site in out tent in 2009 and the facilities are superb and have remainded so. The staff are always warm and friendly be it sunny or raining side ways. We have a caravan now and it is still the same great feeling. No need to move the car once you have arrived, great walks across the road and a great pub down the road (book). We are back again soon and are really looking forward to it...

Our favourite site, we have stayed here a fews times now and have booked a longer break for August. The shower block is second to none, the staff are very friendly. We have 3 children who love the small but adequate play area (even though the eldest is 14!) There are plenty of different walks or cycle trails with pubs en route. Quiet site with a small shop which stocks any essential. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful site. We have just returned home after 3 night mid week break in early May. Facilities here are absolutely fantastic - beautiful showers/toilet facilities (with no queueing during our stay), peaceful pitch, all very clean and well laid out, plus friendly staff. Well done to those running the site, you have got it spot on. Did a local walk up to the 16th century pub, the Hardwick Inn, where we had a great ploughmans lunch. Also did some more challenging walking in Derbyshire peak district, which entailed a drive there of about 45 mins. Good local carvery for only £4.99 at the pub next to the cricket ground (I think it was called the Teversal Grange - about a 15 min walk),where they also run a Salsa class on a monday night, and do weekend 70s/80s/motown nights some friday/saturday nights. There is also a pub called the Carnarvon Arms which is a 5 minute walk from campsite - this is more like a gastro pub, but we didn't eat there so can't comment. There was, however, some live music on a Tuesday night, but not that many in. Had beautiful weather for walking, which always helps, although there was frost on the tent on the first night! Hope this review helps others - if in doubt - book, you won't be disappointed.

Visited during Easter and even though the site was full it was very well kept and clean, as mentioned in other reports the toilet facilities have to be the best by a long way from the ones we've visited, both club and commercial sites. For the active their are several walks and cycle routes with direct access from the site, good for children and adults, the Teversal Trail Visitor Centre is close and the volunteers there are a great source of local knowledge freely given, top class bacon sandwiches and coffee !

Just got back from our Easter break at Teversal. The staff were extremley friendly and helpful when we arrived. The Shower facilities were fantastic, very modern and clean. My only disappointment was the playground was a little small with no swing or slide for our son. Other than that i would definately recommend this site.

Small play area for kids.Site was well laid out and some new tent pitches with EHU under construction. Small but sensibly stocked shop. Two decent pubs in walking distance. Excellent walks across road from site.A very good first experience of C&CC sites.

Having visited this site twice now there are still places we found we ran out of time to visit. The site is well looked after and the toilet/shower facilities were one of the best we have used.Improvements have been made since our first visit. It is ideal for walkers with or without dogs and cyclists as there are many footpaths going off in all directions. Will be visiting here again.

This is the most fantastic site we have been to. The shower block is awesome. Spotless, warm and very well thought out. The showers were hot and adjustable spacious with toilet and basin in the unit and large enough with lots of hanging space. Underfloor heating makes this a very pleasant experience even when the weather is -1 degrees! Makes taking the children for a shower a much easier process too. Good walks around and easy access to East Midlands designer outlet and walks all around the site. One small downfall was the local youths who used the adjacent car park to play loud music till late at night this was sorted satisfactorily by the police.

Site staff were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. We went in March and were the only tent there (not surprising at that time of year, no one else daft enough!). We were up on a little hill with our back to some hedges which proved noisy in a morning due to the inhabiting birds.
The pitch suited our Icarus 500 tent fine but I have no doubt anything larger wouldn’t fit and it seems that even in busier months the site would be predominantly caravans. The toilets were being refurbed when we visited but half was complete and out of this world. I haven’t seen better in a five star hotel. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for the toilet block/ showers.
The site itself is small but with adequate facilities including small shop and playground but we didn’t have kids with us so can’t really comment. Washing up area was clean and tidy and there was a clothes airer outside for those who needed to hang items out to dry.
Nearby, there is the Teversal Trails straight across the road which made a fantastic walk and would have made an even better bike ride if we’d taken the bikes but we do plan to return and we will take them next time. There’s a fab pub a few minutes walk down the road called The Carnarvon which is well worth a visit. Food prices are slighter higher than average but not expensive, extremely good and highly recommended. Booking is necessary for weekends. There is a co-op supermarket in nearby Teversal.
The only negative would be that you have to pay for electric hook up (Club Service Pitch £3.50 per night per unit) even if you don’t need it but that hasn’t put us off revisiting and we definitely plan to stay there again.

There is a very nice pub a short walk away and the shop stocks most things you will need. The wardens are lovely and there is a lot to do as you are on the Nottingham/Derbyshire boarder. So have i shot myself in the foot by telling everyone about it???

Well we have been here with both our camper and new caravan. The site does the C N C and their franchisees proud. facilties and welcome are 5 star, having been to a few C N C sites this has to be the best. Price matches the standard though so if you are looking for a cheep no frills place, then teversal is not the place to go. Its within good wlaking diatance of the canarvon arms - fab food and beer. and roo loves the wlaks with her dad over the reclaimed pit area thats ideal playgorund and walkign for all.

Teversal Caravan site is the most spectacular site of all . I never met anyone who didn't gasp when they walked into the shower blocks and the couple who own this site deserve a gold medal. Fabulous site and fabulous people who are truly so helpful. Great little shop onsite with newly laid eggs and everything you need to get by with shops only a mile or so down the road . What more can I say apart from we go back as often as we can and we are hoping to get booked in for Christmas

Have visited Teversal a number of times in the last two years and must say it is one of the best sites we have used in all our years of caravanning.
Chris, Jayne and team always make you welcome and the facilities are better than some 5* hotels we have visited. it is opposite a country park so if you like walking or cycling it is ideal. It is quite close to a number of towns ie Mansfield Nottingham and even a day trip to Lincoln.
We highly recommend Teversal in fact we are about to book our next visit.

we visited this site 2 years ago and were impressed then. This time we were even more impressed. The new shower blocks are the best we have ever come across, here or abroad (and we have visited a lot). The underfloor heating and individual cubicles with shower, toilet, wash basin, mirrors and plenty of hanging space and shelving made them a delight to use.
The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.
The refurbished pub within easy walking distance served good food and is very nice, although the drinks were a bit pricey.
Plenty of walks from the site and it is easy access to the Derbyshire Dales and places like Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock etc.
The site is very well kept and all year round.

An excellent place to stay. The facilities and the general camping area were spotless. The staff extremely friendly and professional.
In particular the showers and the toilets left nothing to be desired.
The area close by was excellent for dog walking - Silverhill Country Park is literally across the road. 100yards away is what looked like a nice Pub/restaurant, although we did not sample it this time.
Thank you for providing us with a great place to stay.
The only downside was that we could only stay for 2 nights.

We were caravanning in two units, over a long weekend in August with my sister, brother in law and our two dogs. The welcome from staff was very good who took time, even though they were busy, to accommodate our needs as best they could, as we had booked quite late in the day.
The site was almost full with couples, and families but never seemed crowded or noisy and the showers/ wet rooms were spotless and the best we have ever used we didn't have to wait in the mornings and even the mens showers were kept to the same high standard as the ladies, not always the case so I am informed by my husband.
Walks that were very dog friendly were fantastic and just on the door step, but it would be nice to think that everyone would pick up their dogs poop to keep these walks as nice for everyone else.
A really good pub, though again very busy and you would be advised to book at weekends, just a few minutes walk away made our break one of the best so far this season. We are looking forward to going back for New Year.
