What a gem we found with this fantastic CL site, high standard from the facilities to the pitches. Warm friendly welcome was received from owners, welcome letter given with lots of useful and local information. Facilities (unisex) are of a high standard and are spotlessly clean, with good shower and hairdryer. Well spaced, reasonable level, pitches, EHU positioned nicely. Peaceful site the most noise was the farm animals, lovely walks from the site over Hadrian’s wall.
Ideal site situated, 5miles from M6 (10Mins). Local pub just re-opened no food, just 3 miles away is The Stag in Crosby which serves tasty homemade food and great local real ale. Most definitely the best site I’ve visited in the last few years.

What a marvellous 5C site, the best we have ever stayed on. The owner is extremely helpful even offered to get up in the middle of the night if necessary to help take down our awning on a very rainy and windy night. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean and were of a very high standard. Should be voted best 5C of the year.

Excellent site. Like all the other reviews the owners are the nicest people we have ever met. They are always interested in what you have done and are always on hand to give any information you ask for. The site is immaculate with excellent facilities. We are going back again in October as it is such a relaxing place to go. keep up the good work, wish all sites were as good as this. They even took the time to show us around their collection of tractors (bearing in mind it's a working farm and they had bales to collect in-our son loved it) can't wait to go back.

A wonderful quiet, clean, level site. Very welcoming owners. we used it as an overnight stop on our way further north but would have been happy to stay longer.

Nothing but praise for this campsite and the family who run it. Warm friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Toni and myself arrived at the campsite on Aug 11th at around 7.30pm after a long day of cycling from Bedlington Northumberland pitched up and were greeted warmly despite how late we arrived, What a relief to jump in that warm shower, really clean and almost homely bathroom facilities, we left the next morning and continued to the west coast planning to return to this site on the13th. we arrived back at Bleatarn Farm on aug 13th and once again we were welcomed with interest as to how our coast to coast bike ride was going.
We would recommend this small family run site to anyone and look forward to using this site again as a base to explore more of the local area in the near future.
Thank you to Andrew, Leigh and the rest of their family for a BRILLIANT!!! break in our coast to coast (and back)!!! bike ride
John & Toni :) x

I have camped and caravanned for 58 years this summer and without exception this is the best farm campsite I have ever visited. It’s a new site actually situated on Hadrian’s Wall, some of the farm buildings are actually built in the vallum of the wall, so it’s great if you are walking the the wall. The site has great facilities for such a small site! It has good showers, wc, pot wash and electrical hook-ups. It also has hard standings for caravans and motor homes, and level grass area for tents, as you can imagine it’s in a rural setting yet, not far from the M6 The A69 etc, so handy for an overnight stop over if you are going to or travelling from Scotland. Some of its other attractions is its great views of the hills of the North Pennines, the mountains of the Lake District, and also in the distance you can see the hills over the border in Scotland and it has sunsets that would be the pride of any chocolate box photo. There are great attractions on the doorstep an aviation museum other child friendly tourist attraction near are outdoor play area, go-karts and a working farm where kids can enjoy feeding some of the animals, and there is lots more just a short drive away, however half of the pleasure of going somewhere new is to discover things for yourself, therefore I am not going to mention anymore. Bleatarn farm is a little gem of a site that is little known at the moment, so visit before it gets better known!!!! The weather was very hot when we were there in fact it was the warmest place in the whole of England, but this warmth could not be compared to the warmth of the family who run this site. At the moment you may even get to be the only people on the site if so then count yourselves very lucky as when word of Bleatarn Farm spreads those days will be gone. This site is without a doubt the Best Farm Campsite I have visited in all my years of camping and caravanning and should win some award for its excellence.

This a lovely peaceful site (if you dont mind the usual farm noises (cows sheep etc). There are views across farm fields to the Fells from all the pitches The new facilities are kept very clean and you are made very welcome by the owner. Hadrians wall is just over the back from the site so it is ideal for walkers. Carlisle isn't far away or for that matter the Northern Lakes, and Scottish Borders. Being just a few miles away from the M6 it would make an ideal stopover on the way to or back from Scotland. We certainly will be back for another visit.

Fabulous new campsite with really good, clean facilities. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful, rural location. Pleasant surroundings of fields, cows and sheep. The little touches made our stay very comfortable like electric lighting, hairdryer, hair straighteners, heating and handwash in the toilet/shower block. Lovely information room with leaflets about what is available to do in the area. Hadrians wall path is at the back of the farm house and it was great to have that right on your doorstep! We will definately go and stay there again.

Newly opened(July 2011), warm and friendly welcome. Plenty of space for privacy.Friendly sheep who kept my daughters amused. Level, smooth pitch. Pleny of hard standing and hook up locations.
Quiet site within easy reach of local sites and amentities.
Please visit, you won't regret it, as long as you are happy with unisex toilets and showers (used by both sexes but not at same time)Very Cosy - not uncomfortable. We will be going again and taking others with us.
