We stayed for a week and in no way can fault this site. The shower blocks were always clean and tidy the shop very very good. The exercise area and the dog walk are very good. One of the best sites we have ever been to Would recomend it to anyone 5 stars.

An absolutely beautiful site, cannot fault the setting and views at all. People were so kind and friendly, especially the couple who ran the shop and I have never tasted better pain au chocolate for breakfast!!!
However, the warning for campers with tents was that it was an open site and so could be quite windy. We were prepared for this, but it was never really an issue. Our biggest gripe with the place was that we were not warned that the tent pitches with elec hook up were on a slope. There was no mention of this at all which I have considered complaining about seeing as it almost ruined our holiday. We have three children of 7, 6 and 2 and they all had to hold their plates on the table while eating to stop them sliding off. We all ended up at the bottom of our tent "bedrooms" by the morning. My husband commented that it was like being on the Titanic! It gave us headaches and more than one spill to clear up. Thankfully we were only there for five nights, if it had been two weeks I would have cried. NIGHTMARE - PLEASE WARN OTHER CAMPERS!!!!

I second all the positive opinions in the other reviews, all I'm adding is a couple of minor niggles - the gorgeous loo blocks are a very long uphill walk from where tents usually end up, so bring 'own san' if anyone in your party has bladder control issues! The kite field is narrow with a barbed wire fence, we spent part of the first morning disentangling a cow's tail from our kite. Luckily we are country bred and know how to handle cattle.
No-one else has mentioned that the site is not lit at night, so star-gazing is brilliant, as long as you don't have a noisy family with a set of disco lights and a forty-two inch telly planted right in front of you for the first five days. Next time will bring the elsan and beg to be right at the bottom away from people with electric hook-ups.

This is an excellent site sham it is not bookable through the club reservations department. We had a grass pitch in row E with a good view if you want grass best row is H as have amazing sea views or for Hardstanding Row P but you are a long walk up hill to the showers otherwise Row D hardstanding is nearer still with a good view. Row A is backing on to the childrens play area so great for families with children. If you dont mind the walk and want the view Row P and J are the best.

We LOVED this site. From waking up to beautiful sea views and watching the sun set in evening and flying the kids kites on the field to the short and easy drives to Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and many other places. Be sure to support the lovely, friendly family who run the on-site shop and sample the amazing goodies from the Morthoe seafood van. Just make sure you have an awning tiedown kit! Excellent site :)

This was our 5th visit to Damage Barton, its such a fab site, we just can't get enough of it. The staff are friendly and helpful, it has good sized pitches, spotlessly clean toilet blocks, amazing sea views, a brilliant on-site shop with plenty of variety at reasonable prices with very friendly shop assistants, who will bake to order for you ,and a chip van and seafood van which visits the site. The only downfall is that it can be an extremely windy site so awning straps are a must, can't wait to return again.

Just had a week here and what a great place it is, fantastic views with great coastal walks, but only a short drive from attractions. Good onsite shop with plenty of variety, local produce, reasonable prices and good stock of rock pegs which you will need if you have an awning on hardstanding. Staff are friendly, helpful and do a great job of keeping the site and facilities clean and tidy. Pitches are a good size and units are not so close that you feel cramped, you can look out of your window at the view, not straight into the next caravan. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site, but a little care is needed on the roads to the site as they are narrow in places with some sharp bends. Well worth the little extra effort to get there, we would be there every weekend but for the 300plus miles, even my wife who likes a new place every trip said she would like to return.

This was our first club site and from our experience won't be our last!We were a little concerned when booking that there was no childrens play equipment but it turned out to be all the better for it!
The site is very clean and quiet with stunning views to Lundy and South Wales. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the owners of the shop.
The shop is also very reasonably priced and the home made food is especially good!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and would definitely recommend the site.

What a fabulous site. The welcome was professional and friendly (cup of coffee was welcome too). Bus service very convenient enabling us to walk coast path and return easily. The toilet blocks were spotlessly clean and warm, with masses of hot water. Very friendly shop and well stocked with local produce. Missing the croissants!! Thank you.

Our first visit to a club site, and, wow, were we impressed!
A very warm welcome, astounding views, and a very spacious site. No cheek-by-jowl here.
The toilets/showers were some of the best I've ever used. Even tho we had a lot of rain, they were always spotless. Lovely showers with controlable shower temperature, and moveable showere heads. Lots of room in all the cubicles, always loads of looroll. Only had to queue for the showers once, and not for very long.
The shop is fab - delicious croissants, pastries and locally produced food, as well as the usual beachy, sweetie stuff, too. Shop staff very friendly.
All staff were very helpful.
It is very windy on site, but that won't stop us from visiting again.

Another great stay at Damage Barton, the views are stunning.
Even though the site lacks play equipment our two found the site"brilliant" with lots of open spaces close to the site to let off steam & plenty to do.The dog enjoyed herself along the dog walk which has the best views!
Toilet block was always clean. The tents are sited at the bottom of the field so its uphill to the toilet block but at least that helps walk off the fantastic pasties made on site!
It was a professional welcome but maybe not as warm as we would like. But I am sure we will be back

I first visited this site with my parents, about 30 years ago and when I started camping with my family it was the first site I visited!
Fantastic views, large spacious pitches, immaculate and numerous toilets and showers.
Great central field for the kids to play football, kite flying field and dog walking area. It's been set up for a family holiday.
The shop sells everything you could needs, great fresh croissants in the morning and a first rate chip van!
It was, very windy for a couple of nights, but it's worth the wind to stay on such a lovely camp site. Damage barton is what camping was designed for

Fantastic site, very welcoming, amazing showers, powerful, hot and toilet block is kept spotless, we were lucky with the weather but imagine the site could get very windy, well worth a visit and the family bathrooms were fab and made camping with a 3 month old a doddle.

This site is the one to benchmark others by, it has outstanding views, coastline, countryside, clean, friendly on a bus route and a continuous programme of improvement. Can't control the somewhat windy weather but we go back at least twice a year. Toss up between here or Charmouth club site, we frequent both !

If you are looking for a childrens play park and noise this is not the site for you, but if it's country and sea views, numerous varied walks you want and excellent facilites, hardstandings and friendly staff look no further. Bus stop at the entrance so probably no need to use a car during your visit.Good on site shop.Because of its position the site can be windy but views are excellent.
