This campsite is a little treasure... The sign outside says Pull in Pitch up Chill out. This is exactly what we did. Had a great warm welcome from Max and Hazel. Good size campsite with secluded pitches for tents.. plenty of space which was great for us having 3 huskies :) Hazel and James made the dogs very welcome and we could chill out and relax.. The free range chickens on the farm where great and the chance to eat real free range eggs even better... The shower block was clean and tidy with plenty of hot water..
Just a great base to explore Galloway from, being able to get to the beach or into the national forest in very little time was a bonus.. There are some lovely walks just from the campsite if you don't want to drive..
We also had some lovely campers with us thanks guys for a lovely break :)

A wonderful hidden gem of a site in the heart of Galloway. This is a real getting away from it all campsite set in the beautiful Galloway countryside. You won't be troubled by noisy roads here!
There are hookups for around 5 vans, and camping for many many who dont need electrics. Wonderful stone built BBQs dotted about the camping field, and also fire pits so you can gather round the campfire at night. Logs are also available. It was fairly quiet when I visited with friends but we had a great weekend sitting about in the blistering hot sun, and were treated to some free range eggs from the on-site chickens.
With a new purpose built toilet and shower block (also with dish washing facilities) and a warm welcome from the owners, I give this a very firm thumbs up.
Galloway, for the uninitiated, is in the beautiful (did i mention that?) SW Scotland and a perfect location for hill walking and cycling (road and mtb) you are close to the 7 Stanes trail centers at Glentrool and Kirroughtree (some great singletrack there !) For the non-sporty, lots of quiet scenic roads, and you arent too far from the coast either.
If you are looking for entertainment to be provided, try elsewhere, if you are looking for a great escape, this is perfect.
