This was our second visit to the site, visited last time about 5 years ago, nothing much has really changed in that time. We would class the site as sterile as there wasn't really anything there, but it is good if you want a quiet break. The entrance to the site was via a road around the back of Weston airfield with speed tables that were too high and too close together for longer units. Admittedly it was the final weekend of the season for the site but a few flower tubs would make it a little bit more welcoming and presentable. The showers/toilets were still slippery when wet and unsafe and you could wash your feet not only from your own shower but also from the adjacent showers when they were also in use. I noted that part of the toilet block had not been cleaned when I arrived and when I left two days later it was still there. I informed the manager on leaving who stated that it hadn't been noticed. I would say that walls and floors should be cleaned on a daily basis!
There was a map of Weston and bus routes to and from if you wanted to use them but there were no bus timetables available.

We have used this site many times as an overnight stop, as it's so handy from the M5 (about 10 mins). We have also stayed for longer periods as it is a quiet site but not too far to travel to Weston-Super-Mare itself.
Our only gripe would be the speed bumps at the entrance to the site - far too big and completely unnecessary really. The showers/toilets could do with being refurbished but were always nice and clean.
We were treated to a free display by one of the helicopters from next door at the museum...very entertaining - thank you.

A quiet, impecably maintained, open site unfortunately marred by very dated toilet blocks, something the Club could do well to re-furbish. The site does slope steeply and is perhaps not ideal for the less mobile. Hard standings are level but it is noticeable that levelling can be difficult for some members in the grass area.
We have just retrieved our van from a seasonal pitch. The site was chosen to meet our particular location need with easy access to family and coast.
Our observation was that the site is very good for those with dogs, less so for those with children as there is little or no safe playing space. The speed tables on the access lane are indeed fierce, we found we were fine with our 'normal' car and van if speed was minimal. Motorway access is excellent.
Little is within walking distance. There are buses from the end of the lane and supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. A local garage much closer for basics. Overall shopping is excellent. The sea front continues to be re-furbished, commercialised in the centre it is much quieter at each end.
We enjoyed the humour and efficiency of the site managers and their deputyWe were very well cared for by the site managers and their deputy, leaving the van between visits was not a worry. Thank you to Steve, Chris and Pat for making our season a very relaxed and enjoyable one.

A freindly and helpful greeting despite our planned late arival (20:00). Good sized level pitch with 240 hook up. W/C's and showers clean and well looked after. Quiet site (no playground etc)but only 15 mins drive from the front at Weston. No real shop on site but not a problem as only a 5 min drive to the supermarket if you need supplies.
We will be back.

Site is easy to access from the M5 however the speed tables at the entrance to the site whilst effective are too severe. Lower slung units easily grounded.
I would describe the site as adequate having a fairly steep sloping field making levelling a larger unit quite tricky, nice hardstandings and pitches at the lower end of the field. Grass and surroundings well kept,as were the bins and water points. The toilet block was a disappointment and needs a refurbishment. The shower cubicles were terrible it was impossible to keep anything dry!! The whole floor was soaking wet from the splashing coming from the next cubicle. Water also splashed out into the area outside the cubicle. On a positive note the toilet block was spotlessly clean.
We found the staff more than a little sarcastic at times and to be honest less than enthusiastic.
Our visit served a purpose for us but I very much doubt we will return.

on arrival at reception the staff was friendly and let us choose out own pitch which was great
but went down from there,
when we got to the pitch we met the site manager who was not it the best of mood to say the least and in the most inapproiate voice said that the pitch was not ready and we had to wait at least 5 minutes before we could start pitching.
During our stay, our party were looked down by himself and his partner but luckly we didn't spend much time on site

We found tiolet and shower block in need of refurbishment tiles on floor became very slippy because water ran between showers you could stecame and in yours and get your legs sprayed from shower next door. So floor between tiolets and showers became quite dangerous.

Then siten is very convenient for the M5. The access road runs through what appears to be waste land and the alongside a commercial residential and touring site. It is a shame the toilet blocks cannot be upgraded by the Club as in comparison to others they are a little outdated but always spotlessly clean. The site itself has open views but is also sheltered, although it can be quite windy. The site management team are friendly and helpful, we noticed them welcoming people to the site early and late in the day with the same smile we saw at lunch time. Help was offered with pitching, rubbish bins emptied appropriately and the grass immaculately kep. The site might be a little restrictive for those with children. Good access into Weston for the beach and supermarkets close to hand. As has been commented before there is little within walking distanve but buses are at the end of the road nso not really an issue for those not wishing to use their own transport. Overall a site suited for those happy to be independent and be in a rural location with good access to motorway links. Any discontent with this site could perhaps be alleviated if the description in the Club handbook was more accurate and expectations managed by the Club.

This is the second Camping and Caravanning Club site I have stayed at, the first being Moreton in Dorset. Following Moreton, which was superb, Weston was a disappointment. I had assumed that the Camping and Caravanning Club "approval" meant that a site would achieve a certain standard, but it appears I was wrong. The issues with this site were:
1) Parent and child room situated inside the ladies facilities which obviously means Dad cannot go in there.
2) Parent and child room consisted of a normal toilet cubicle with a large sink in it. The sink was damaged which meant there were rough areas in it. You certainly could not bath a baby in it. No changing table, just an area of cold tiled work top. In fact, it should not really have been called a Mother and baby room at all.
3) Shower cubicles were tiny, which made getting removing trousers without soaking them on the previous person's water was somewhat challenging.
4) Water point near our tent was broken. There did not seem to be any expectation that this would be fixed.
5) Very uninspiring location, next to an industrial estate with views of a crane.
6) Nothing withing walking distance except the industrial estate and, an admitedly very entertaining, helicopter museum.
7) "Recreation hall" (as described on this website) was a room with a few chairs in it and some old toys.
8) Very expensive for what it is. We paid £56 for two nights for 2 adults and 2 small boys. It was an extra £10 per night because we apparently have a "jumbo tent". Definitely not worth the money and I will be watching these kind of extra charges carefully in future.

This was our first time and with reading the reviews we were a bit aprehensive about the site.
The couple that ran the camp were very pleasant when we turned up and they were helpful with getting onto the pitch.
There is nothing for children to do on site but the beach is not that far away.
The camp is quiet and everyone seemed very friendly.

Stayed in mid summer 2010 for 2 weeks on arrival found wardens friendly.I was a bit shocked when we first arrived as the site looked just like a open field with a toilet block on the top of a hill nothing else,so was a bit disappointed.facilities were clean, I would recommend site if you wanted just the basic field it wasn't really landscaped no flowers trees just round the edge.Good dog exercise area, close to many supermarkets,no nice walks from site had to travel with dogs to get a good walk. All in all i wouldn't go back but I would recommend site more for a few days rather than a holiday site.

We were complete beginners (mum and 4 kids)our first trip, The staff were very helpful helping us back in and set up. We were at the bottom of the site as it was level the rest is on a hill. The toilets and showers were very clean and warm. we were right by the drinking water and waste disposal and hook up very handy It was a quiet site we were the only family with kids and I did feel we had to be careful not to disturb anyone with normal kids chatter. The drive from the motorway is very quick and the drive to Weston was easy but there are real bad jams at busy times. Parking at the sea was £7.00 for the day but was right next to the beach or on it if you wished. The beaches are good but the sea if you see it was a sewer. The one down point was on the way out there are a series of speed bumps on a hill we managed fine on the way in up the hill but the caravan caught each one on the way out even though I was going slowly.

Decided one day to go to the seaside for a few days. Hadn't pre-booked so hoped there would be space when got there. If not would have found elsewhere. Got there about 2:30pm only to find reception not open until 4:30pm. Sign said to choose own space and pay later. Sounded fine by me. Decided after long journey to use toilets facilities before putting tent up, only to find you needed a code to be able to get into them, which of course I didn't have as hadn't paid yet. Couldn't seem to find any staff to ask so turned around and found another site to go to. Site was tiny, about 6-8 caravans all bunched together in the middle.
