Stayed only 1 night to visit Salisbury, staff were friendly and helpful. As has been said a pleasant half hour walk along traffic free paths takes you into the City centre. An abundance of cycle paths and routes for the cyclists among us. The negative is as previously said 2 fields very exposed and pitches in ranks of a military nature. That said ideal for Salisbury and surroundings.

We were originally booked to go to Verwood but due to refurbishments we were transferred to Salisbury. We arrived to a friendly welcome, with Nigel directing us to our pitch and helping us to position our caravan. Nothing was too much trouble and we noticed that if someone had forgotten an item such as an electric cable or a piece of waste pipe, Nigel seemed to produce it from his Aladdin's Cave! It was such a quiet site despite being 1.5 miles from the centre of Salisbury and the fact that Hudsons Field was only 20 yards from the site for walking the dog. We were so pleased to be on the site and would consider going to Salisbury again.

We had a great eight days on this site, it is well run with good facilities. A lot of good walks, no childrens play area but loads of room for them to play in Hudsons field which is next door. easy to get into Salisbury City centre on foot, by bus, or car. Would recomend the site and staff.

This was our first stay at a C&CC site and have to say how impressed we were with the site, staff and facilities. The site was great and had everything you need with a nice walk into Salisbury iteself. The small shop/reception had some local produce for sale which was very tasty and great. The facilities were the best we have seen in a long time and despite the comments about them being outdated, we were very impressed. Yes a little modernisation of the showers would not go a miss but overall very good, clean and maintained.
The only downside for us was the actual pitch, we seem to of been on an area where the ground was rock hard, we bent most of our pegs getting them in but the tent stayed up and we got some more stronger pegs in Salisbury.
Definately stay here again. Staff were great. Joining the C&CC if there all like this is definately worth while.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly - moving us to a more level sight and one where we could access the wifi. There is an inground dump for black water tanks which not too many campgrounds have. The site doesn't have a lot of character - it is just a wide sloping field but it was convenient to the lovely city with easy access by bus.

we use salisbury site 3/4 times a year this trip we came with our son his wife and our grandaughter from the usa who all had their first camping experience. Nigel and Wendy the site managers had ensured we had the right pitch to suit our stay as we were using an annex on our awning. All the staff went out of there way to ansure our stay was perfect including the asst warden allowing my son to access his email on his laptop.
Even though the site was busy the facilities as always were immaculate.
Thanks for making this a memorable holiday

This site is in an excellent location for places to visit, and if you are cyclists (as we are) the city is a very pleasant 10 minute cycle away, there are lovely rides to be found along the various river valleys running out of Salisbury and Stonehenge is an easy ride away. The facilities are good, as you would expect from a club site.
The site itself however is rather lacking in character - two open fields which were full of rows of caravans and motorhomes giving little privacy and no sense of being away from the hustle of daily life. It is also a very exposed site, and although we were guided to a spot against the hedge, our tent got little shelter from the wind.
We'd recommend this site if you want a few days visiting the area, but for a relaxing holiday it wasn't anywhere near as good as other sites we've been to.

Salisbury has a direct rail service into Waterloo which was our main reason for choosing this site.It will now be our number one choice for future stays. The information given on arrival was very comprehensive as was the range of leaflets for walks etc.The trail into the city is level and easy and Salisbury itself has many buildings of great interest.Motorhome facilities are exceptionally well thought out and although levellers are required on most pitches, the slope of the site is not unreasonable.Views to Old Sarum are quite amazing and the historic ruins are a short stroll from the site. The wradens and their assistants seem to be genuine friends adding to the happy atmosphere.First class all round.

Site and wardens lovely; Old Sarum Airfield less than a mile away wasn't. Incessant buzzing of light aircraft taking off and landing for pleasure trips.

Hi, Nice site all facilities clean and tidy, site very sloping so you need chocks albeit there are some near the water points, would recommend the site to anyone, only down side is that when it gets busy there are no clear paths across the site to the toilet blocks so you may have to wander between tents and caravans OK but dogs even tethered ones can be a problem

All in all a good site, clean good access to Sailsbury by foot down the cycle path and nice views of Old Sarum. Slightly sloped site which was 'fun' in a tent. Only comment I would make is a bit of consistancy on clsure of toilet blocks on two days both blocks were closed at the same time which with kids isn't particulary helpful...

I've stayed at this site once a year for the last 6 or 7 years. The people who run are very nice and friendly. The facilities provided are very useful for those of us in tents and are kept very clean. I'd very much recommend this site to anyone along with having the fantastic view of Old Sarum at all times of day to be in awe of! Such a lovely location and very near to the city centre too.

We stayed here for a long weekend to try out our new backpacking gear. 30 min walk from train station. Excellent welcome at 8pm by warden (he even carried my wife's backpack to our pitch). Facilities and site clean and well kept. Picnic tables handy for backpackers. Also tables and chairs in laundry/information room which could be used if weather bad. Only bad point was the group of friends who pitched up just over the hedge from us on our second night, who were generally noisy and played music from 8 in morning till 11 at night (we had to ask them to turn music off and to be quiet at 11:30 on third night). Wardens should do walk round on all sights at 11pm to remind noisy campers the rules. We would have stayed an extra night, but couldn't face another night next to campers from hell. Old Sarum just across field. Bus stop to Salisbury and for stone henge tour on road over field. 20min-30min walk into Salisbury. Harvester Pub just over road. Can't fault site or location, just our neighbors (rest of site campers were respectful of their neighbors and friendly as normal).

Very clean site with well stocked shop. One set of wardens were very friendly and approachable the others were not as good and this needs consistency.
The site is well laid out but suffers with a sense of being crammed in to all available spaces which we did not like.

Site is a in a large field but still very quiet and private. Children and adults alike can play safely in the large open field. Ideal for short trips into Salsbury or longer trips to the other sites in Wiltshire.
