We stayed with our 3 young children over a lovely May Bank Holiday weekend. The site is gently sloping but very well kept with plenty of space between units. The facilities are exceptionally clean and never too busy. Our 11 week old son enjoyed a bath in one of the sinks! We walked into Salisbury centre from the site with our pushchair and older children walking and found it a lovely picturesque walk along the river. It would also be nice to cycle along the path. Hudsons Field is brilliant for the kids to run off steam with a ball or kite. The site is very quiet and it is hard to believe it's so close to the city. We had a super view of Old Sarum from our caravan windows and enjoyed a Siege themed day there. We have already recommended this site to friends and are planning to return very soon.

Arrived late, almost dark, but recieved a very pleasant welcome from wardens. Three one man tent pitches provided at side of toilet/shower block which was handy and quiet despite the adjacent footpath. Facilities extremely clean and warm and site very cheap. Would definitely recommend it as a stop over place for touring cyclists.

Arrived just before closing to a very warm welcome from wardens. The site slopes, so ramps are an advantage, and the width of the hardstandings for is, shall we say, not very generous! This means that manoeuvring is nearly always via the grass edges. The toilet facilities are excellent - clean, warm and well cared for. Our two dogs loved the field next door where they could tear about off the lead, and there were a variety of footpaths and hidden lanes for them to explore. A Harvester pub within 10 minutes walk is useful as is the Fish and Chip van.
The site is a bit barren - just two large fields with a separating hedge. Some trees and bushes to offer shade and variety would relieve it a bit.
Only other major drawback is negotiating the Salisbury traffic at peak periods. Overall, we spent a pleasant three days, visiting grandchildren and taking them out to various locations.

I've stayed at this site each year for several years. It's a good location for getting into Salisbury and for the bus when I go to Avebury for the Summer Solstice. The location on the hillside & with the view of the valley & Old Sarum is wonderful at all times of day. The facilities are excellent & kept well maintained. The owners are very nice & remember me each year, which still surprises me considering how many people stay there!

On arrival for 1 night stay I was asked where i would like to be , so asked if I could be at the front by the hedge but was told they were hardstandings, as I could see there were 5 empty I asked if they were booked and was told YES During the evening 2 were taken but next morning there were still 3 empty.
This has happened to me on other occasions, I wonder just what your policies are ?

we drive a 37' RV and prebooked, and told the truth as not worth the hastle of not being allowed on after lying, to find alternative sites. with no problems, or the usual "how big, how long" at all, most helpful.
Upon arrival put on a level pitch "just right" for our use. Although site mostly on a slope, would probably accomadate 2/3 RV's.
fairly open to the elements probably more use to couples singles groups rather than families.
Busy for time of year so maybe worth booking.
usual CCC high standard of facilities and cleanlyness.
As said idealy situated for Salisbury and surrounding visits. Overall would definately use again without hesitation.

We stayed for just the one night, ringing ahead on the same day to seek availability as we were heading to the Isle of Wight and in need of a stop over. The warden could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and even enabled us to save some money by selecting a smaller pitch size and establishing that I qualified for a discount.
Location is very good, about a five minute walk from a decent pub/restaurant, and just half an hours walk from the city.
The facilities were very modern and clean.
Will definitely visit again for much longer.

This is a fabulous site, wardens are the best and so are the facilities. So much to do, in 4 days we visited Old Sarum, Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral, we walked into Salisbury on a few occasions (easy walk), visited the local market which was huge. Would recommend this site to all.

stayed at this site for 11 nights with our tent, 7m x 3.5m. On arriving the warden asked if we were sure that the tent was this size, I assured him that it was. He then told us where to pitch with 'the markings' which we did. Two days later it became very windy and we decided to put our windbreak up to shelter the tent. The windbreak was approximately one metre in front of the tent, we were told to remove the windbreak, we said it was for shelter from the wind and he said we could move it towards the tent by 2 foot. He said that there would be the 6 metre space between our tent and the pitch in front of us (which was never used). We obliged, but common sense could have prevailed. Facilities were very clean and showers excellent. The only other gripe is the gate was always closed and you had to keep getting out of the car to open and shut the gate. Maybe keeping it open until the Wardens went off duty would have been better. Excellent site for Salisbury and a lovely walk into the town.

salisbury is a loverly part of england as this was our fisrt visit there we found plenty to do,the campsite it's self is loverly and spic and span and everything has a place with everything in its place, as for our family with 2 chilren we felt frowned upon as the site catered more for caravans and motor homes, there was no other children there which makes me feel it you want it a adults only site then just make it one, nothing for the children, they may been seen but not heard. very acceptable for older couples to be drinking wine and very loud lewd behaviour stopping the children and adults from having a descent nights sleep.staff judged us without knowing us we are strict parents with pleasent children, think they have had bad experiences with other tenting families.lost my phone while we were away rang to ask if anyone had handed it in the next day was told no bye didnt even ask me for name and contact number found that unprofessional.in a nut shell this should be a caravan and adult only site

We were a mixed family group with a caravan & tent & had some non members with us. Siting us together was tricky but the on site warden did his best to find pitch that wasn't too sloped but I wouldn't call it flat! The following morning a different warden said the tent & caravan were too close even though they were both pitched where told & we had to remove our windbreak at night. Then when we tried to put up a gazebo between our tent/caravan we were told to move it to behind the tent - we'd put it up to give us shelter from the lovely weather & to decorate to celebrate a birthday. Rules are rules but I suspect that had we all been members or not been a mixed 'outfit' this would not have been such an issue. We were made to feel very unwelcome & will not be staying again. If you are a family group of mixed ages/mixed members & non members with a mix of tent/caravan don't bother!

The site was easy to find and access was straight forward. The overall standard of the site was outstanding. The grounds and hedges was immaculate (or being trimmed) and everything was maintained to the highest standard. The adjacant field provided an excellent play space for our children. From our pitch we could supervise the children whilst they played. The ablution facilities were very clean and regularly maintained by the hard working site staff. The site is on the edge of Salisbury but the views over lightly populated countryside is really great. The walk into Salisbury is easy and straight forward providing easy access to all the facilities the city has to offer. This is a really good site and one which we will want to visit again.

I love this site and would happily spend another half year here and recommend to all my friends. The staff are amazing and really helpful, smiley and supportive, despite the ridiculous weather this year. I owe my awning to the team! I love the views. The activities on Hudson's Field this year have helped to involve the community at large, we had record breaing success and the jubilee and the Olympic torch. As a landowner I appreciate the difficulties that this years weather has inflicted upon the site and I am in awe of the way that the staff cope with the adverse weather and when appropriate zoom out on the grass cutting machines to make the site look even more beautiful. Fab, roll on the summer!

We stayed over the Jubilee weekend so had the best and the worst of the weather. The site is sloping more so in some areas than others, something to consider if like us camping currently means a tent. Fortunately we were located on a pitch with just a slight slope so did not slide about on the inflatable bed to much. The pitch also drained well and despite the downpours we were not left floundering in a muddy field. Well organised reception when we arrived with plenty of staff to cover what must have been a busy weekend. Site facilities would be 5 Star if more level but to achieve that would take a huge amount of terracing.

This was our first weekend away in our new motorhome. We chose Salisbury because of its proximity to the town centre, it's only half an hour along a pretty path off the main roads. Staff could not have been more helpful, site including facilities could not have been cleaner. The site is mainly two fields with a gental slope and there is a separate field for play alongside the site.
Friday night we were treated to music and a firework display from the adjacent field but everything was peaceful after 10:30pm.
This site has to be one of the quietest available, the occasional light aircraft meanders by, the distant scream of an ambulance siren is just audible and this is all that will interrupt your peace and quiet.
Congratulations to the site team, great job, great weekend with stunning weather.
Highly recommended by this ex-virgin couple.

Stayed only 1 night to visit Salisbury, staff were friendly and helpful. As has been said a pleasant half hour walk along traffic free paths takes you into the City centre. An abundance of cycle paths and routes for the cyclists among us. The negative is as previously said 2 fields very exposed and pitches in ranks of a military nature. That said ideal for Salisbury and surroundings.

We were originally booked to go to Verwood but due to refurbishments we were transferred to Salisbury. We arrived to a friendly welcome, with Nigel directing us to our pitch and helping us to position our caravan. Nothing was too much trouble and we noticed that if someone had forgotten an item such as an electric cable or a piece of waste pipe, Nigel seemed to produce it from his Aladdin's Cave! It was such a quiet site despite being 1.5 miles from the centre of Salisbury and the fact that Hudsons Field was only 20 yards from the site for walking the dog. We were so pleased to be on the site and would consider going to Salisbury again.

This was our first stay at a C&CC site and have to say how impressed we were with the site, staff and facilities. The site was great and had everything you need with a nice walk into Salisbury iteself. The small shop/reception had some local produce for sale which was very tasty and great. The facilities were the best we have seen in a long time and despite the comments about them being outdated, we were very impressed. Yes a little modernisation of the showers would not go a miss but overall very good, clean and maintained.
The only downside for us was the actual pitch, we seem to of been on an area where the ground was rock hard, we bent most of our pegs getting them in but the tent stayed up and we got some more stronger pegs in Salisbury.
Definately stay here again. Staff were great. Joining the C&CC if there all like this is definately worth while.

This site is in an excellent location for places to visit, and if you are cyclists (as we are) the city is a very pleasant 10 minute cycle away, there are lovely rides to be found along the various river valleys running out of Salisbury and Stonehenge is an easy ride away. The facilities are good, as you would expect from a club site.
The site itself however is rather lacking in character - two open fields which were full of rows of caravans and motorhomes giving little privacy and no sense of being away from the hustle of daily life. It is also a very exposed site, and although we were guided to a spot against the hedge, our tent got little shelter from the wind.
We'd recommend this site if you want a few days visiting the area, but for a relaxing holiday it wasn't anywhere near as good as other sites we've been to.

Salisbury has a direct rail service into Waterloo which was our main reason for choosing this site.It will now be our number one choice for future stays. The information given on arrival was very comprehensive as was the range of leaflets for walks etc.The trail into the city is level and easy and Salisbury itself has many buildings of great interest.Motorhome facilities are exceptionally well thought out and although levellers are required on most pitches, the slope of the site is not unreasonable.Views to Old Sarum are quite amazing and the historic ruins are a short stroll from the site. The wradens and their assistants seem to be genuine friends adding to the happy atmosphere.First class all round.

Hi, Nice site all facilities clean and tidy, site very sloping so you need chocks albeit there are some near the water points, would recommend the site to anyone, only down side is that when it gets busy there are no clear paths across the site to the toilet blocks so you may have to wander between tents and caravans OK but dogs even tethered ones can be a problem

All in all a good site, clean good access to Sailsbury by foot down the cycle path and nice views of Old Sarum. Slightly sloped site which was 'fun' in a tent. Only comment I would make is a bit of consistancy on clsure of toilet blocks on two days both blocks were closed at the same time which with kids isn't particulary helpful...

We stayed here for a long weekend to try out our new backpacking gear. 30 min walk from train station. Excellent welcome at 8pm by warden (he even carried my wife's backpack to our pitch). Facilities and site clean and well kept. Picnic tables handy for backpackers. Also tables and chairs in laundry/information room which could be used if weather bad. Only bad point was the group of friends who pitched up just over the hedge from us on our second night, who were generally noisy and played music from 8 in morning till 11 at night (we had to ask them to turn music off and to be quiet at 11:30 on third night). Wardens should do walk round on all sights at 11pm to remind noisy campers the rules. We would have stayed an extra night, but couldn't face another night next to campers from hell. Old Sarum just across field. Bus stop to Salisbury and for stone henge tour on road over field. 20min-30min walk into Salisbury. Harvester Pub just over road. Can't fault site or location, just our neighbors (rest of site campers were respectful of their neighbors and friendly as normal).

Very clean site with well stocked shop. One set of wardens were very friendly and approachable the others were not as good and this needs consistency.
The site is well laid out but suffers with a sense of being crammed in to all available spaces which we did not like.

Site is a in a large field but still very quiet and private. Children and adults alike can play safely in the large open field. Ideal for short trips into Salsbury or longer trips to the other sites in Wiltshire.
