We stayed with our 3 young children over a lovely May Bank Holiday weekend. The site is gently sloping but very well kept with plenty of space between units. The facilities are exceptionally clean and never too busy. Our 11 week old son enjoyed a bath in one of the sinks! We walked into Salisbury centre from the site with our pushchair and older children walking and found it a lovely picturesque walk along the river. It would also be nice to cycle along the path. Hudsons Field is brilliant for the kids to run off steam with a ball or kite. The site is very quiet and it is hard to believe it's so close to the city. We had a super view of Old Sarum from our caravan windows and enjoyed a Siege themed day there. We have already recommended this site to friends and are planning to return very soon.

Arrived late, almost dark, but recieved a very pleasant welcome from wardens. Three one man tent pitches provided at side of toilet/shower block which was handy and quiet despite the adjacent footpath. Facilities extremely clean and warm and site very cheap. Would definitely recommend it as a stop over place for touring cyclists.

Arrived just before closing to a very warm welcome from wardens. The site slopes, so ramps are an advantage, and the width of the hardstandings for is, shall we say, not very generous! This means that manoeuvring is nearly always via the grass edges. The toilet facilities are excellent - clean, warm and well cared for. Our two dogs loved the field next door where they could tear about off the lead, and there were a variety of footpaths and hidden lanes for them to explore. A Harvester pub within 10 minutes walk is useful as is the Fish and Chip van.
The site is a bit barren - just two large fields with a separating hedge. Some trees and bushes to offer shade and variety would relieve it a bit.
Only other major drawback is negotiating the Salisbury traffic at peak periods. Overall, we spent a pleasant three days, visiting grandchildren and taking them out to various locations.
I've stayed at this site each year for several years. It's a good location for getting into Salisbury and for the bus when I go to Avebury for the Summer Solstice. The location on the hillside & with the view of the valley & Old Sarum is wonderful at all times of day. The facilities are excellent & kept well maintained. The owners are very nice & remember me each year, which still surprises me considering how many people stay there!

We enjoyed a weekend break here& would be pleased to stay again. It was a nice clean site with the usual good club facilities & a 20 minute walk into Salisbury. The view over Sarum Hill was lovely.

On arrival for 1 night stay I was asked where i would like to be , so asked if I could be at the front by the hedge but was told they were hardstandings, as I could see there were 5 empty I asked if they were booked and was told YES During the evening 2 were taken but next morning there were still 3 empty.
This has happened to me on other occasions, I wonder just what your policies are ?

we drive a 37' RV and prebooked, and told the truth as not worth the hastle of not being allowed on after lying, to find alternative sites. with no problems, or the usual "how big, how long" at all, most helpful.
Upon arrival put on a level pitch "just right" for our use. Although site mostly on a slope, would probably accomadate 2/3 RV's.
fairly open to the elements probably more use to couples singles groups rather than families.
Busy for time of year so maybe worth booking.
usual CCC high standard of facilities and cleanlyness.
As said idealy situated for Salisbury and surrounding visits. Overall would definately use again without hesitation.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We stayed for just the one night, ringing ahead on the same day to seek availability as we were heading to the Isle of Wight and in need of a stop over. The warden could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and even enabled us to save some money by selecting a smaller pitch size and establishing that I qualified for a discount.
Location is very good, about a five minute walk from a decent pub/restaurant, and just half an hours walk from the city.
The facilities were very modern and clean.
Will definitely visit again for much longer.

This is a fabulous site, wardens are the best and so are the facilities. So much to do, in 4 days we visited Old Sarum, Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral, we walked into Salisbury on a few occasions (easy walk), visited the local market which was huge. Would recommend this site to all.

Fantastic site . Children loved it as in walking distance of old Sarum. Walked into Salisbury and played with dog on field infront of camp. The toilets and showers very clean and site quiet even though busy . Really want to go back... Thanks for a great bank holiday weekend!!!
stayed at this site for 11 nights with our tent, 7m x 3.5m. On arriving the warden asked if we were sure that the tent was this size, I assured him that it was. He then told us where to pitch with 'the markings' which we did. Two days later it became very windy and we decided to put our windbreak up to shelter the tent. The windbreak was approximately one metre in front of the tent, we were told to remove the windbreak, we said it was for shelter from the wind and he said we could move it towards the tent by 2 foot. He said that there would be the 6 metre space between our tent and the pitch in front of us (which was never used). We obliged, but common sense could have prevailed. Facilities were very clean and showers excellent. The only other gripe is the gate was always closed and you had to keep getting out of the car to open and shut the gate. Maybe keeping it open until the Wardens went off duty would have been better. Excellent site for Salisbury and a lovely walk into the town.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break
Just returned from another great 3 nights on this site. We love it here and are always impressed with how clean and tidy the site is kept. Lots of well kept dogs and nicely spaced pitches.
The walk into town is still great and the "chip van" was very busy but well worth the wait. We will be back soon.
salisbury is a loverly part of england as this was our fisrt visit there we found plenty to do,the campsite it's self is loverly and spic and span and everything has a place with everything in its place, as for our family with 2 chilren we felt frowned upon as the site catered more for caravans and motor homes, there was no other children there which makes me feel it you want it a adults only site then just make it one, nothing for the children, they may been seen but not heard. very acceptable for older couples to be drinking wine and very loud lewd behaviour stopping the children and adults from having a descent nights sleep.staff judged us without knowing us we are strict parents with pleasent children, think they have had bad experiences with other tenting families.lost my phone while we were away rang to ask if anyone had handed it in the next day was told no bye didnt even ask me for name and contact number found that unprofessional.in a nut shell this should be a caravan and adult only site
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples
We were a mixed family group with a caravan & tent & had some non members with us. Siting us together was tricky but the on site warden did his best to find pitch that wasn't too sloped but I wouldn't call it flat! The following morning a different warden said the tent & caravan were too close even though they were both pitched where told & we had to remove our windbreak at night. Then when we tried to put up a gazebo between our tent/caravan we were told to move it to behind the tent - we'd put it up to give us shelter from the lovely weather & to decorate to celebrate a birthday. Rules are rules but I suspect that had we all been members or not been a mixed 'outfit' this would not have been such an issue. We were made to feel very unwelcome & will not be staying again. If you are a family group of mixed ages/mixed members & non members with a mix of tent/caravan don't bother!
Very friendly/helpful staff.Very clean toilets/shower blocks.Beautiful views of old Sarum from pitch.Close to city of Salisbury within walking or cycling distance, also bus to city close by.Kids happy as WIFI available on site.
Apart from one small glitch where our special request was not registered or implemented, this was an all round excellent site with friendly staff and clean facilities. We look forward to a re-visit early in September, where, we hope that our requirements will be accomodated. Great site, highly recommended.

The site was easy to find and access was straight forward. The overall standard of the site was outstanding. The grounds and hedges was immaculate (or being trimmed) and everything was maintained to the highest standard. The adjacant field provided an excellent play space for our children. From our pitch we could supervise the children whilst they played. The ablution facilities were very clean and regularly maintained by the hard working site staff. The site is on the edge of Salisbury but the views over lightly populated countryside is really great. The walk into Salisbury is easy and straight forward providing easy access to all the facilities the city has to offer. This is a really good site and one which we will want to visit again.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We only stayed for 3 night but were highly impressed with this site. It was very well run, spotlessly clean and in a great location to walk or cycle into salisbury. We will definatly come back to this site in the future. Highly recommended, and great if you have kids and dogs as ther field next door is huge for them to run themselves ragged. a great site and very helpful staff.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break
I love this site and would happily spend another half year here and recommend to all my friends. The staff are amazing and really helpful, smiley and supportive, despite the ridiculous weather this year. I owe my awning to the team! I love the views. The activities on Hudson's Field this year have helped to involve the community at large, we had record breaing success and the jubilee and the Olympic torch. As a landowner I appreciate the difficulties that this years weather has inflicted upon the site and I am in awe of the way that the staff cope with the adverse weather and when appropriate zoom out on the grass cutting machines to make the site look even more beautiful. Fab, roll on the summer!
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
Whilst the weather was against us the work by Nigel and Wendy and their team was excellent and made our stay most enjoyable. Well done all!
A First Class Site managed by a Top Class Staff
This site's ideally situated. On the edge of Salisbury but very peaceful and right by a large park, with a cycle path into the town. Transport links easy. Yet you view the Old Sarum castle and earthworks which is very rural and pretty. The staff are brilliant, and the facilities are spotless. Highly recommended.
We stayed over the Jubilee weekend so had the best and the worst of the weather. The site is sloping more so in some areas than others, something to consider if like us camping currently means a tent. Fortunately we were located on a pitch with just a slight slope so did not slide about on the inflatable bed to much. The pitch also drained well and despite the downpours we were not left floundering in a muddy field. Well organised reception when we arrived with plenty of staff to cover what must have been a busy weekend. Site facilities would be 5 Star if more level but to achieve that would take a huge amount of terracing.

We have visited this site a few times, convenient for Salisbury, by bus or walking. Lovely field next door to exercise dogs. On this visit we had the benefit of a show featuring a drumming group and a fireworks display. We will surely visit again.
Showers were far toooooooo hot - i could not even stand under them. Distressed to bump into a man cleaner at 7am in the girls toilets...
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break
We had a fantastic three day break late May, the facilities were very very good clean tidy and well kept.
The welcome was warm and very friendly the staff on site were very helpful and knowledgable about surrounding attractions.
Very likely to return in the future.
SUITABLE FOR: Active break,Peaceful break
good allround site, but found being chucked out of the shower block at 11 with wet hair not pleasant.only four showers and very busy needing to que about 8 people at a time. When you dont have electric and cant use block to dry your hair it doesnt feel like a holiday more like school.A couple of times myself and my son had to endure freezing showers,i can do cold but not freezing.Looking back at reviews seems the site has not taken on board any of the comments.Otherwise an ok site.
Lovely site with good access, really friendly welcome given by all the staff on site who are always happy to help. great site for visiting Salisbury and its cathedral or exploring the Wiltshire country side. and the nearby Old Sarum fort site.. only issue really was the morning queue for both the toilets and the shower. only a minor gripe really. Oh and the water was far too hot to be able to shower children in.. mind you.. the temperature did remain constant when all the showers were used.. all in all a good site in a lovely location
The site is ideally located with lovely views up to Old Sarum.
There is a bus service close by for getting into the City or it is possible to walk (about 40 minutes for us Oldies)
A good welcome and an excellent pitch despite some being unusable because of recent bad weather. Local attractions such as Army Air Corp Museum at Middle Wallop, Wilton House. My only complaint is that I would have liked the showers to have had hotter water.Toilet block very clean.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
Very friendly and helpful. I am disable and from arriving on site to leaving the team of site managa's we there to help. I needed a cylinder of gas and when I got the cylinder out of the caravan the manager tuck it off me and when I had paid he brought the new one back, what a great time. We where put near to the disable showers / toilet which was super. When I go to a Club site I know it going to be good, what can one say go and see for your self you go away knowing you have a great holiday. Thank you
Had an enjoyable stay, pleasant walk into salisbury, very peaceful and relaxing, look foward to returning again soon.
This was our first weekend away in our new motorhome. We chose Salisbury because of its proximity to the town centre, it's only half an hour along a pretty path off the main roads. Staff could not have been more helpful, site including facilities could not have been cleaner. The site is mainly two fields with a gental slope and there is a separate field for play alongside the site.
Friday night we were treated to music and a firework display from the adjacent field but everything was peaceful after 10:30pm.
This site has to be one of the quietest available, the occasional light aircraft meanders by, the distant scream of an ambulance siren is just audible and this is all that will interrupt your peace and quiet.
Congratulations to the site team, great job, great weekend with stunning weather.
Highly recommended by this ex-virgin couple.
Terran & Lin
Stayed only 1 night to visit Salisbury, staff were friendly and helpful. As has been said a pleasant half hour walk along traffic free paths takes you into the City centre. An abundance of cycle paths and routes for the cyclists among us. The negative is as previously said 2 fields very exposed and pitches in ranks of a military nature. That said ideal for Salisbury and surroundings.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Active break
Close to salisbury. A half hour walk which is off the main road and is flat and pushchair freindly and you are in the heart of the city.

Hi just stayed on this beautiful site for a couple of nights the site Manager and his team couldn't have been more helpful, the weather was rather damp.
We will be staying again in the near future.
Also met up with a work colleague who had retired 20 years earlier the icing on the cake thanks

We were originally booked to go to Verwood but due to refurbishments we were transferred to Salisbury. We arrived to a friendly welcome, with Nigel directing us to our pitch and helping us to position our caravan. Nothing was too much trouble and we noticed that if someone had forgotten an item such as an electric cable or a piece of waste pipe, Nigel seemed to produce it from his Aladdin's Cave! It was such a quiet site despite being 1.5 miles from the centre of Salisbury and the fact that Hudsons Field was only 20 yards from the site for walking the dog. We were so pleased to be on the site and would consider going to Salisbury again.
We had a great eight days on this site, it is well run with good facilities. A lot of good walks, no childrens play area but loads of room for them to play in Hudsons field which is next door. easy to get into Salisbury City centre on foot, by bus, or car. Would recomend the site and staff.

A NICE SITE WITH ALL THE C&C USUAL STANDARDS FRIENDLY PEOPLE AND A GREAT PARK/FIELD NEXT DOOR .
This was our first stay at a C&CC site and have to say how impressed we were with the site, staff and facilities. The site was great and had everything you need with a nice walk into Salisbury iteself. The small shop/reception had some local produce for sale which was very tasty and great. The facilities were the best we have seen in a long time and despite the comments about them being outdated, we were very impressed. Yes a little modernisation of the showers would not go a miss but overall very good, clean and maintained.
The only downside for us was the actual pitch, we seem to of been on an area where the ground was rock hard, we bent most of our pegs getting them in but the tent stayed up and we got some more stronger pegs in Salisbury.
Definately stay here again. Staff were great. Joining the C&CC if there all like this is definately worth while.
The hosts were very helpful and friendly - moving us to a more level sight and one where we could access the wifi. There is an inground dump for black water tanks which not too many campgrounds have. The site doesn't have a lot of character - it is just a wide sloping field but it was convenient to the lovely city with easy access by bus.
DATE STAYED: May 2011
we use salisbury site 3/4 times a year this trip we came with our son his wife and our grandaughter from the usa who all had their first camping experience. Nigel and Wendy the site managers had ensured we had the right pitch to suit our stay as we were using an annex on our awning. All the staff went out of there way to ansure our stay was perfect including the asst warden allowing my son to access his email on his laptop.
Even though the site was busy the facilities as always were immaculate.
Thanks for making this a memorable holiday
DATE STAYED: July 2011
This site is in an excellent location for places to visit, and if you are cyclists (as we are) the city is a very pleasant 10 minute cycle away, there are lovely rides to be found along the various river valleys running out of Salisbury and Stonehenge is an easy ride away. The facilities are good, as you would expect from a club site.
The site itself however is rather lacking in character - two open fields which were full of rows of caravans and motorhomes giving little privacy and no sense of being away from the hustle of daily life. It is also a very exposed site, and although we were guided to a spot against the hedge, our tent got little shelter from the wind.
We'd recommend this site if you want a few days visiting the area, but for a relaxing holiday it wasn't anywhere near as good as other sites we've been to.
Salisbury has a direct rail service into Waterloo which was our main reason for choosing this site.It will now be our number one choice for future stays. The information given on arrival was very comprehensive as was the range of leaflets for walks etc.The trail into the city is level and easy and Salisbury itself has many buildings of great interest.Motorhome facilities are exceptionally well thought out and although levellers are required on most pitches, the slope of the site is not unreasonable.Views to Old Sarum are quite amazing and the historic ruins are a short stroll from the site. The wradens and their assistants seem to be genuine friends adding to the happy atmosphere.First class all round.

Site and wardens lovely; Old Sarum Airfield less than a mile away wasn't. Incessant buzzing of light aircraft taking off and landing for pleasure trips.
just a short walkk into salisbury has stunning views across the countryside.
facilities were clean and secure with keycode access which is good for child ren's safety.
the staff were very friendly and helpful only a ashort stay but will be going back
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Younger couples
Hi, Nice site all facilities clean and tidy, site very sloping so you need chocks albeit there are some near the water points, would recommend the site to anyone, only down side is that when it gets busy there are no clear paths across the site to the toilet blocks so you may have to wander between tents and caravans OK but dogs even tethered ones can be a problem
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Groups
All in all a good site, clean good access to Sailsbury by foot down the cycle path and nice views of Old Sarum. Slightly sloped site which was 'fun' in a tent. Only comment I would make is a bit of consistancy on clsure of toilet blocks on two days both blocks were closed at the same time which with kids isn't particulary helpful...
I've stayed at this site once a year for the last 6 or 7 years. The people who run are very nice and friendly. The facilities provided are very useful for those of us in tents and are kept very clean. I'd very much recommend this site to anyone along with having the fantastic view of Old Sarum at all times of day to be in awe of! Such a lovely location and very near to the city centre too.

We stayed here for a long weekend to try out our new backpacking gear. 30 min walk from train station. Excellent welcome at 8pm by warden (he even carried my wife's backpack to our pitch). Facilities and site clean and well kept. Picnic tables handy for backpackers. Also tables and chairs in laundry/information room which could be used if weather bad. Only bad point was the group of friends who pitched up just over the hedge from us on our second night, who were generally noisy and played music from 8 in morning till 11 at night (we had to ask them to turn music off and to be quiet at 11:30 on third night). Wardens should do walk round on all sights at 11pm to remind noisy campers the rules. We would have stayed an extra night, but couldn't face another night next to campers from hell. Old Sarum just across field. Bus stop to Salisbury and for stone henge tour on road over field. 20min-30min walk into Salisbury. Harvester Pub just over road. Can't fault site or location, just our neighbors (rest of site campers were respectful of their neighbors and friendly as normal).
DATE STAYED: April 2011
Very clean site with well stocked shop. One set of wardens were very friendly and approachable the others were not as good and this needs consistency.
The site is well laid out but suffers with a sense of being crammed in to all available spaces which we did not like.
DATE STAYED: August 2010
SOME DIVISIONS BETWEEN CARAVANS WOULD BE GOOD AND A FEW TREES DOTTED AROUND WOULD MAKE IT NOT SO BARE PLEASE REPOSITION HAIR DRIER
Site is a in a large field but still very quiet and private. Children and adults alike can play safely in the large open field. Ideal for short trips into Salsbury or longer trips to the other sites in Wiltshire.
