First time we've visited Kingsbury Water Park and it won't be our last! Level site. Immaculately clean. Spacious pitches. Friendly helpful staff. Could not fault this site at all. Plenty of walking along the canal or around the many lakes which are just yards from the site. Buy the water park map(50p)from reception.

We have been visiting Kingsbury Campsite now for approx 6 years & visit numerous times throughout the year, as it is a beautiful site, with great facilities, lovely walks, fishing lakes, the local pub (Dog & Doublet) serves great food, and offers a friendly welcome. However we have just come back from a 10 day visit which both shocked & annoyed us at how the site has changed. 5 mph speed limit is no longer the case to a high volume of visitors, cleaning of site facilities was as and when & not the specified times, children seem to play ball in front caravans, running around peoples caravans having no respect for other people. Children ride around the toilet blocks & play inside the family room, at the end of the day a park is provided for the children to play safely in. We have a daughter of our own and we have always respected other peoples privacy. Even adults now tend to cut through the caravans to take a short cut. Supposed to be visiting again in May hopefully regulations will be back to normal. Rules & Regulations are put in place for a reason, come on campers abide by them.

We have just come back from a 9 night stay at this site. we use it several times a year as it is quite local to us. We were disappointed in this last stay for a few reasons. we did not see the wardens once we had booked in, except for when they were doing their daily duties. no one obeyed the 5 mile an hour speed limit, some driving quite fast, if a child had ran out in front of them i dread to think what could happen. children riding and playing around the toliet block were not pulled up about it. pitches with more than one car. adults and children walking and riding through pitches, ball games been played in between caravans. at one point we had around 6 children peering through our front window watching our tv. on our way back from an outing we saw one lad relieving himself up the water point - where are the parents when all this is going on and where are the 3 sets of wardens!!!!!!!
we are booked to go again soon as it is a lovely site but i think a few things need to be addressed. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE C&C UNIFORM!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic stay, really enjoyed it. Yes you can hear motorway noise but not to the extent it was annoying. Can't fault the cleanliness of the shower and toilet facilities. Nice hot showers and easy to use. Annoying when friends came to visit as car park is small and they weren't allowed to bring their car to our pitch, even though there was room. Would definitely recommend this site. Very flat for tents and large pitches.

As per other reviews cannot fault site at all. Well laid out, good access, very clean, excellent facilities! Stayed a couple of times in 2011 and always got less than friendly reception, but just returned from weekend on the site and wardens were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Only negative is the boiling hot showers, otherwise FAB site!!

This site was recommended to us and after reading various reviews thought we would try it. We were definitely not disappointed. We stayed 3 nights over the New Year and had an excellent time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are excellent and kept spotlessly clean. The location is ideal with plenty for the younger ones to do or simply take a stroll round the many lakes. You do get some noise from the nearby motorway but this did not bother us. We were so pleased with the site that we have booked to go again in April and this time our daughters and grandchildren are joining us. All in all a first class site which we would recommend to anyone.

Location couldn’t be easier, right next door to the M42. This being the case and the fact that it’s under the flight path for Birmingham Airport the noise was not a problem at all.
On arriving we didn’t seem to get the usual warm welcome that we have always got from C & CC sites in the past. We set out our footprint ground sheet exactly as told, only to be told by someone else to move it as we were too close to the next pitch. We got the impression that neither of them knew exactly what they were doing.
The pitch was quite a tight squeeze for our tent. Not a problem as we were next to family who had already been set up, however you would get to know your neighbours pretty well, as the pitches generally are quite small.
For such a large site we were quite surprised to find such a small camp shop which seemed to close as and when the staff fancied and only 6 male/female showers for the whole site, one male shower of which was out of order for 8 of our 9 nights.
We opted for a family room key as we have a 3 year old daughter, the room itself being the largest we have seen, the shower and cleanliness however being the worst. The shower was useless, with only a dribble of water of which we couldn’t adjust the temperature. The shower cubicle was mouldy with silicone sealant coming off in various places. That being said our daughter loved the Peppa Pig stickers on the wall.
In general the toilet facilities were not bad, just a bit mouldy in places.
On the Thursday a window had been shattered in the dish washing area next to reception, to our surprise it was still broken on the Sunday when we left. Due to the large amount of children on the sight we were surprised to see that this wasn’t mended.
In general a large site with good flat pitches, few facilities and a not very dynamic staff. With the right attitude of the staff and better facilities, this has the making of an excellent site.

With this site only being 7 miles from home it was ideal for our first camping trip to try the new tent out. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and given a really good pitch opposite my brothers RV across the way. The site was very clean and well appointed with good shower and toilet facilities, lovely walks around the area, an ideal break for anyone. I have to say the only two things that could be improved is the stock in the site shop, very limited but not too terrible and the noise from the M42 (its not likely the higways agency are going to change that in a hurry, cannot be helped I suppose).Once we had a few beers the sound dissapeared into the background (funny how that happens!).Again, I would highly recommend this site, very pleasant overall.

We visited in Mid August this year for 3 days, not long enough, This Site is Great and we were lucky to pick it, as it was our last stop on our way back home from a two weeks tour it finish off our Caravanning Holiday Lovely.
The Friendly wardens made sure that we had a drive though pitch to stop all the messing about revering. The pitches are very big. The site started to fill up for the weekend but was still not overcrowded. There is easy access to the waterpark Crossed the Road, where my children booked up to do some Canoeing and a bit of Wall Climbing for a day, all good fun and not to price either, you can also walk or ride bikes for miles around the main park and over the far side of the park the is a Big Play area for all ages, and a miniature railway too, I cannot fault this site and we will be back very soon.
Thanks for a Great Stay. MA

We visited this site earlier this month in our caravan and the friendly wardens made sure that we and 2 other family units were all placed together despite us all arriving at different times. The facilities were spotless and both my daughters remarked that there was never a queue for the showers or toilets as happens on other sites. The grandchildren enjoyed themselves with reasonably priced climbing and canoeing at the nearby activity centre and a visit to the childrens farm was also a hit. Our dogs were welcomed and could be off site for walks within minutes. We would like especially to thank Eric for his friendly helpful attitude and advice and will certainly be visiting this site again.

This site was chosen as a 1st outing for our newly purchased tent and a great excuse to meet up and camp with friends. The site and shower block are to a lovely standard, what isnt is the rock hard ground and lack of security. We visited the site last weekend and there were a spate of thefts including bikes, cookers and tools, some of these items were chained up and bolt cutters used to release them. The sites reception were not warning people about this which i found a little strange. Apart from the noise from the nearby motorway had a great weekend, think that was more to do with great friends than location though.

This is the second time we have stayed at Kingsbury Water Park. This time however we took our 11month old daughter for her first camping experience. We found the staff pleasant and helpful and in general the facilities are very good. We stayed for three nights at the campsite over a weekend and it seemed to be quite busy with a lot of groups. The water park which is a stones throw away has a lot of family activities but during peak times is very busy. There was only one real problem that we found which was the family wash room. The shower did not work
properly and there was no water pressure for the
hot tap which meant filling a baby bath took forever. Apart from that we had a very enjoyable stay and will go back again.

There were two main reasons why we booked for (initially) a 3 night stay here. Firstly, the advert says "a perfect setting for an enjoyable family holiday with an outdoor education centre opposite offering a variety of activities including abseiling, canoeing, climbing, rafting and more! Arrived on site to be told of no ball games or kites allowed. Visited the activity centre and all activities unavailable, reception said we should have pre booked a fortnight ago. The only activity was a 1.5 hour climb on the day we should leave; I had to book an extra night so we wouldn't go home with a totally distraught 14 year old. The second main reason for booking here was wifi. This was hit and miss throughout.
When I went to Reception to complain they said the Outdoor Activity Centre was outside their control. Why not say that pre booking activities is essential? Why put adverts in your page that aren't checked?

I would recommend this site. We stayed for 13 nights in august. It was quite. Pitches are a good size. You are not on top of each other. The pub that you can walk to an get 5% off as a member is well worth a visit. (Dog and Doublet)The water park is great to walk round. Fishing at the waterpark can't be done as ponds over grown. However up the road the red farm is an excellent spot. The activity centre across the road from the camp site entrance is good but only available in the hold for one offs. You need to be a large party otherwise.

Nice clean site, was given a selection of pitches to choose from all adequately sized for our frame tent. The car access and egress is through a barrier providing good security. My 4 year old loved the play area although it would have benefited from more play facilities as they were always really busy. Most of the children were unsupervised by adults in the play area leading to some quite rough play one evening - my 4 year old and I retired back to the tent to so she didn't get hurt by being in the same proximity. In the evening(9.30pm)we suffered from kids whizzing around on bikes and playing ball games directly outside our tent, I had to keep an eye on our car to ensure it didnt get damaged from a rogue frizby or tennis ball (even some of the parents thought is was fun to play near our tent rather than risk damage their own car and caravan). As others have mentioned it is a great location for Drayton Manor park and obviously Kingsbury water park. Will probably return next year avoiding weekends.

The staff were friendly and helpful and showed us to our pitch. The toilet and shower blocks were always warm and clean and showers had plenty of room for you to share shower with children if you wish.
The area in which you wash up was the best I've seen and warm and clean. All the fellow campers were friendly also. My children made lots of friends and it felt a safe area for them to play. The kids loved the park on the campsite.

As a seasoned member and having been to the site last year I was really looking forward to my stay. But oh dear what a disappointment. The site was full to capacity and so quite bustling as I would have expected this was fine until the evening. First night our neighbours were still partying to 00.15 very noisy . I have never been on a site with this problem so assumed it was a blip even when the group decided to tidy up all their empty bottles at 6.00 am I was still optimistic that this was a rare unfortunate incident. Until the next night!! at 23.00 there were children still racing round the toilet block on scooters nearly knocking down a lady who spoke to them but to no avail she was quite distressed .At 23.45 I felt compelled to ask a group over 10 males drinking outside their tents watching the boxing on TV that they had set up if they could be a bit quieter as by now I really wanted to sleep. No response so I thought I would seek out a warden . Interestingly the quietest part of the site was around their area in complete darkness they must have been asleep lucky people!!So I walked back many groups were still chatting and the further away from the warden area the noisier it got. By me the noise carried on till the early hours when the TV was switched off . Again even more bottles noisily tidied up at 6.00 am . Whilst this is a lovely site in the day . A nightmare at night and I never saw a warden in the evening who perhaps could have made it a more pleasant experience . Had this been my first experience of camping and caravan sites I would be demanding my money back.

This was our 2nd visit to Kingsbury Water park campsite. The first was last year, during which we had a very warm welcome from very helpful staff and were really looking forward to returning.
This time we booked in for 2 nights with our two children (9 and 6). Unfortunately there was no warm welcome to be had this time. We were offered a choice of pitches and shown to the one we chose.
The toilet / shower facilities cannot be faulted (other than a few wobbly toilet seats!) - they were clean and fresh and had all facilities you would need.
The childrens play area was adequate, but busy. No real open space for ball games provided and lots of unsupervised children.
I think many people would agree that a great part of the camping experience is playing family games of bat and ball, cricket etc by the tent. For the first day and half we had great fun doing this with our children, but we are always respectful of other nearby families, who were also enjoying their own games. Until that is the warden put a stop to our games, saying no ball games were allowed to be played (which she said included frisbee). Well that was the end of our fun weekend.
The problem was some people were told and others not - there were no visible rules that we could see.
The warden said such games were meant to be played in the childrens play area, but that would have been impossible as it was too small an area.
Unfortunately this put a real dampener on what was until then a lovely stay.
I doubt I would book this park again, which is a shame because the facilities are lovely.
The childrens animal farm next door was worth a visit.

Stayed 4 nights over Easter period. Lovely site, friendly & helpful staff, nice clean facilties. Fantastic site for children. We went here so that our Grandchildren could visit. They had a great time. Don't think we would go at peak times on our own but would be first choice if taking the grandchildren. The only downside was units arriving far too early (11.00 am onwards) which at one point caused a tailback of about 20 units which blocked any units/vehicles leaving the site. This must cause real problems for the staff on site so please be aware of this.

Just spent 3 nights at Kingsbury. The site was very well kept and clean. Excellent base for Drayton Manor and Tamworth Snow Dome. We found the noise from M42 kept us awake on the first night, but got used to it and didn't notice it during the day. Kingsbury Water park was very nice. We left the site on Sunday morning and were able to park our car and caravan on the car park field of the Water park (£3 for the day - entrance to Water Park just along from club site). This was great as we could have a go on the miniature railway, which only opens Sundays and bank holidays. We had a lovely day at the water park - well worth remembering that you can park there for the day (with your caravan too).

Located on the edge of Kingsbury water park, with fishing, cycling, walking, sailing, bird hides and an outdoor center, visitor facilities, tea rooms, scale railway etc.

Depending on the wind direction the M42 can be a bit noisy, but you soon get used to it.

On arrival we were quickly checked in and shown to our pitch after being given a choice of pretty much anywhere and were pointed in the right direction for all facilities. We were very happy with the check in, the staff and the pitch.
There are two toilet blocks, practically identical to each other. The showers are fab, very spacious and although they’re push button they stay on long enough and are reasonably powerful with instant hot water. Always clean.
Very impressed with the facilities. The wash up sinks were nice big square ones, again with instant hot water.
There’s a laundry with washer, dryer, ironing board etc. Everywhere was spick and span. The site is well lit and a pleasure to amble round. Shop/ reception stocks bare minimum but there are supermarkets within a few miles of the site and you can order papers at reception for the next day.
The site is in a fab location for tonnes of local attractions, far too many to list but there is an abundance of leaflets in the information area. We were at the NEC in no time at all (about 6-8 miles) which was great for us.
We spent a day ambling around Kingsbury Water Park itself which is lovely. There are proper paths and it’s all signposted so suitable for all abilities but there are other woodland paths for the more adventurous which wander away from the gravel paths. We passed four hides which were great and well kept.
The miniature railway at the main visitor centre is good. And there’s plenty to see and do, all within walking distance from the site.
I have struggled to find a negative but although it didn’t bother us in the slightest, we were literally backed onto the M42 just about so the noise may bother some but we didn’t mind it.
Excellent site which we will definitely visit again and we will plan to stay for longer next time as a weekend just isn’t long enough. 10 out of 10 from us!

We have stayed here a few times once with a group of friends and the welcome just gets better each time, the water park is right next door and there is nearly always some activity on there plus plenty of walks and wildlife watching to do.
The site is close to Drayton Manor theme park and the NEC is only about 5 miles away also Tamworth is nearby for shopping , the site stock some basic food and there is a cafe/restaurant on the water park also pubs are a short drive away this is fast becoming our favorite site

I choose this site as it easy access to Tamworth snowdome .I arrived Friday evening, verywarm welcome, Tony showed me to my picth and very patiently directed me into the spot as it is only my 3rd outing with the caravan. The play area kept the children occupied wilst i cooked. Then walk along the canal .In the morning 15 mins into Tamworth. Next time i will take bikes for adult too as cycling paths everywhere. The castle ground where lovely with great playpark and lots of entertainment. Then it was back to the peace and quite of the site. Which is kept to a very high standard of cleaniness.Amenities all at hand . i will certainly be returning. We like to visit the snowdome, this way we can fit in lots more and not have to rush home as there is so much to do in the area.

Because the site is so popular there is a need to book early. My grandson is 5 years old and we take him camping all over the country but he maintains his favourite is Kingsbury Waterpark. The Staff are always welcoming and try to give you a pitch that best suits your needs nothing is too much trouble. The cleanliness off the toilet/shower block is unsurpassed by any other site I have been on. Aways guaranteed a good time what ever the weather.

A friendly, well maintained site with excellent facilities. A great base to explore area by foot as so many attractions/activities nearby including miniature steam railway, canal and water park. Short drive to lovely villages, Drayton Manor and Birmingham.
Our family had a great time and the kids spent most evenings in the fenced play park. Will definately return and reccomend to others.
Thanks for a wonderful experience of first time tent camping.
