Jennie & John the wardens are to be commended on their helpfulness and friendly nature: you could not wish for better.
We are new to caravaning and this was our first visit to a club site. We were favourably impressed. Originally planning to stay only for 5 nights we extended this by a further 5 nights and included our grandchildren who wanted to stay, although living nearby.
The leisure centre (1/2 price entry for site visitors) next to the site is very handy as is the children's playpark just moments away.
On our first evening (without grandchildren) we went to the Jade Palace chinese restaurant in Crowborough (a short walk from the club site) and enjoyed a thoroughly good meal, enhanced by the welcome from the proprietor & staff. The fish & chip shop round the corner was also good (although no curry sauce available!).
I have not given 5 stars for the facilities as apart from the games room there is little actually on the club site. However, taking into account the nearby facilities a 5star allocation for the area would be more appropriate.

Stayed over the Easter break. Very friendly welcome by John & Jenny on arrival. Was given choice of two pitches and shown both so we could choose which one we wanted. We had no chocks for our caravan but site manager found us some.
Very clean toilets and showers. Lovely quiet site. There was a problem with the sites eclectics, we were kept well informed on what was happening, but problem was soon sorted.

We found the site managers very friendly and extremely helpful. We had an emergency in the middle of the night and the help that they gave us with both opening the gates for the ambulance and the invaluable advise they gave us was fantastic and much appreciated. Would definitely return again. Highly recommended.

We have just joined the Club and this was our first visit to a Club site. We were very impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the site managers and the cleanliness of the facilities. We were using hardstanding so had no problems due to the wet weather. We walked into Crowburgh (10 mins) one night for a meal, which was very handy. The site is well placed for visiting local attractions and the coast, and we had a very enjoyable stay. We hope to be back!

My wife and I stayed for 4 weeks over a 5 week period. We found the staff extremely helpful and with a great sense of humour. Dog walking was good and the closeness of Crowborough town a real plus. Would recommend the site 100%

We have just come back from staying at the site, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the on site facilities where very clean and they also have a room for board games and things to do in the local area which is perfect if it does rain, although nothing on site for children there is an amazing children's play area 200 meters from the entrance. The site although quite large felt small because its broken up into various areas via hedges and trees. The local town has an amazing selection of shops and take aways (very good quality). We will definitely be going back to the site.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Choice of pitch as we have a disabled unit. Facilities although maybe a little old were spotlessley clean and had no problems with availability at all - come on Camping and Caravanning Club spend some money to help the wonderful 4 wardens who are absolute gems. Crowborough 10 mins stroll and good good shopping centre, easy access to other major towns and tthe wonderful Blue Bell Line. So there are aircraft but not enough to spoil the holiday and certainly not 24 hour obtrusive. Stayed for the first week of our hols and 3 weeks later decided to go back for a few days prior to us going home. Definitely going back. Thank you all for a wonderrful stay. xx

We had a good pitch, very wide. Not enough showers for the amount of people. Planes flying over until very late in the night so came home feeling pretty tired through lack of sleep. Also on leaving due to an app in Tunbridge we left just a few minutes after the allocated time and the lady of the site was alredy bringing down another caravan to pitch where we were still trying to leave. So felt pretty hurried and she didn't seem to happy about this. So no won't be returning.

We've stayed at Crowborough a number of times on each of the last 5 years. It has to be one of the easiest to get to, and easily accessible. It's a lovely site with all the facilities you could wish for. The wardens are so helpful and friendly - there's always one of them around when you need them, with a friendly wave and smile. We're sure to be back again before the end of the year. The only thing I wish the club would do is update the shower cubicles -doors can be hard to open and shut and grouting is looking tired. That and making the gravel on the hardstandings a bit more even would be all I'd ever ask! Come on club! Help out the wardens just as they, in turn, help us to have a great time at Crowborough!

Our first stay at a Club Site, and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly, and we were given a choice of pitch when we arrived. We were camping in pretty bad weather with rain and winds, and were advised where to pitch to avoid flooding, and get shelter from the winds.
The facilities were very clean, and not at all busy. The council swimming pool is next to the campsite, and campers get discounted rates!
The town centre is only a short walk way, and we took advantage of the cafe in nearby Morrisons for a decent cooked breakfast!

Lovely peaceful and well kept site with friendly and helpful managers, and although just off a main road and on the edge of town, you could walk directly from the back of the site into spectacular bluebell woods. The 2 shower blocks were checked several times each day and were adequate for the number of guests, even though the site was quite busy. As a bonus, I enjoyed my early morning swims at the leisure centre next door, which offers reduced rates to campsite residents and lane swimming from 7 to 9 am, as well as family sessions. The one downside was the air traffic from Gatwick, but we'll definitely be back at bluebell time, and of course to play Pooh sticks as Winnie the Pooh countryside is just a short drive away.

We spent a lovely sunny weekend here in our 'new to us' caravan. We have been members of the camping and caravanning club for four years and found this site to be among the best. Lovely peaceful location, pitches nicely spread, very relaxing. Plenty of help given on arrival when having to reverse into the hardstanding and help with uncoupling - great for us novices. Genuinely nice and interested site staff who maintained the site beautifully. Up-to-date information on the notice board. Facilities spotless and evenly spread. Shop opening hours limited but with several supermarkets within easy reach and within walking distance this was not a problem. No childrens' play area but a wonderful play area on the recreation ground behind the leisure centre, good excuse for a walk. Swimming pool excellent. A lovely start to our caravanning days.

Travelling back to the UK after spending winter away, I needed a campsite to head for before making my way back home.
This site was recommended to me so I thought I'd give it a try, booking for a week.
When I got there I was given one of the warmest welcomes I've had at a commercial site.
The wardens treated me like an individual and were genuinely friendly and interested in making sure that my stay there was a pleasant one.
The Holiday Site Assistants were just as warm and welcoming - I'd say the four of them make a great team.
The site is within easy walking distance to the town of Crowborough which was important to me as I had no transport. That said, as the site is on the edge of the town there are fantastic views to be enjoyed and no noise from the road as the site is set a good way back and is well screened.
The shower block, dish-washing and toilets were very good and the showers have a proper tap, none of this push button timer nonsense. They were immaculately clean at all times.
One improvement I could suggest would be that the mirrors above the sinks in the upper block be raised - I'm average height but found that unless I planned on shaving my chest the mirrors were a good 10" too low.
I enjoyed my stay a lot and in fact I extended...and extended...and extended my stay until it came to pass that I had been there for nearly a month!
I have recommended the site to some friend of mine who are hoping to visit it in August.
After reading the other reviews I was concerned about one reviewer who said there was a music festival nearby that caused some noise disturbance - my friends would not like that but I have checked with the site and they have told me that the 'music festival' is no longer being held nearby so there should be nothing to spoil the tranquillity.
I can recommend this site and look forward to staying there again myself in the future.

As with most club sites a very friendly welcome and ultra clean.
I stay here a couple of times each year because it is so convenient for coast and country but I do not understand why other reviewers rate these on-site facilities as 5-star. When this site is busy the male toilets/showers are just not adequate.Although there is a second block I have never seen this open.
Picture this; 3 men shaving, 2 in shower,2 waiting for shower and constant traffic in and out of toilets. All this in quite a small space. Not what I would expect from a "CLUB" with so many years experience.
The site team though are very nice.

Our first time on a c & c club site for many years as only recently returned to caravaning. Our first year of membership was 1972 if I remember correctly. The sits was beatifully kept, warm welcome from stewards, taken to site was thought best for our long unit as being fairly flat. All in all a very pleasant weekend which we only decided to book friday noon. We weren't disappointed. recommend to anyone. Forgot to mention toilets/showers etc. brilliant, plenty of hot water and very clean.

Decided at the last moment to go camping, having had the tent for over a year and only used it once, and had found everywhere booked up! Didnt realise we would have this problem, so joined the camping club and as we didnt want to go too far from home as it was only for three nights we went to this site, when approaching it via the local leisure centre car park, thought oh dear what have we booked, its in a town, but once on the site realised what a gem it was, there are endless walks from the back of the site, and as we have two small dogs this is a must. Also being so close to town was actually a bonus, as we could walk into town for bits and peices, but then return to our litte peice of heaven.
Would recommed this site to anybody with dogs as it has so many walks from the site.
The only down side was that it also backs onto a recreation ground, which was a bit noisy one evening with music, but it was all over by about 11pm, so didnt actually spoil our peace and quiet, but might be worth checking out before booking just in case there is more music festivals going on, that could spoil your stay.

This site is very clean and well kept. We stayed here as it was 'close' to the Winnie the Pooh bridge that we wanted to visit. It's actually six miles away with no obvious way of getting there. No public transport links and no-one at the site actually knew how to get there which we found disappointing. If you are visiting these sites, you will need your own transport. There was a music festival in the next field which was not advertised when we booked and the music was excessively loud, the van was throbbing with the bass. I know several of the other visitors were complaining. Overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the clean amenities but the music festival just put a dampener on things. We would go back but would check ahead beforehand.

Hi, Great site and great wardens, looks a bit untidy due to the improvements to the pitches and the dry weather as the grass hasn't grown, this will be sorted by next year, but none the less a great little site and really good showers etc. would recommend to everyone, walk to Morrisons and Lidl's Bus into Brighton right outside the site or into Tunbridge Wells

We've visited this site near the end of the season for 3 years running. It's peaceful at this time. With a bus stop at the end of the drive, a sports centre by the site and the shops and supermarkets in the town of Crowborough within a short walking distance, it has all we could ask for. Trains to London go from Jarvis Brook, just under 2 miles away giving yet another holiday option. With friendly staff to welcome us, we love coming here.

We have visited the Crowborough site many times over the last three years, and have mixed feelings about it. The amenities are decent but not exactly extravagent, with two showers for each sex (the second toilet block is only open in peak periods.) There is nothing on site for children. It is in the middle of Crowborough and there is road noise, a nearby football pitch and gym which can be noisy. On the other hand, it is well located to access many places of interest in Kent and Sussex, as well as being on the way to the ferries and on a bus route. This year it has been ripped to pieces and rebuilt with new pitches, which seem to be very small, although it now has level hard-standings which hopefully are better drained than before. It remains to be seen, when we visit at Easter, whether it is an improvement or not.
