Just returned from this little gem of a site. The welcome we received from Frank & Roma was the BEST we have ever received from site wardens. They had excellent knowledge of the surrounding areas and nothing was too much trouble for them. Well done to both of you. As motorhome owners this site was perfect as there are bus stops just outside the site so need to decamp. You can travel to Chichester, Bognor, Littlehampton and Brighton in one direction or Portsmouth and Southsea in the opposite direction on the 700 Coastal bus which runs every half hour. There is so much to do in Portsmouth itself that we visited twice and still didn't succeed in seeing all on offer so we have a good excuse to return. There is a pub next door and a small co-op and farm shop within 500 yds, so the choice as to whether to bbq outside your unit or eat in the pub will probably be the hardest decision you will have to make. Thanks very much again Frank & Roma for all your hard work keeping this site so spotless and we will look forward to seeing you both again very soon

Sat Nav took us all over the place but with a phone call we managed to put in an address on main road.
Nice reception and very friendly from Frank . Unfortunately the weather was against us and the site soon became flooded and it was a pity to see the traffic churned up grass as it looked very nice when we arrived. Bus service to Portsmouth about an hour but takes you right to dockyards, saves parking.

Wonderful location, spotlessly clean facilities and Frank and his partner were so friendly and helpful, a wealth of local knowledge. The adjacent bus stop gave us easy access to the whole of the coastal attractions. Frank's clear directions got us easily into Chichester on our bikes and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing that could have been improved was the weather!

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time exploring the area. Walked to nearest town and took buses to other areas eg Boshum which was beautiful.
The farm shop across the road was very good.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Anything we asked they were most willing to assist. We will come back as it was a very restful campsite but with plenty to do in the area.

Me, my wife and two kids under 10 spent a couple of nights in early April. The welcome was very pleasant and Geoff the warden showed us to our pitch and suggested we take a hardstanding pitch, as opposed to the grass pitch we had asked for, due to the soft ground (no extra charge). The site is well positioned with Portsmouth just to the West and Chichester to the East. The weather was cold and windy so we didn't take advantage of the level cycleways around the site. The local pub The Traveller's Joy did a very good meal for all of us and we can recommend it. There is a fabulous farm shop a couple of hundred yards from the site entrance (towards Portsmouth) which has a stock of all you might need grocery wise for a couple of days and the owners were very friendly. As stated in previous reviews, this site is quiet, extremely clean and would appeal to the older couple without kids. That said, we would certainly return if we were to be in the area again.

We have just come back from an Easter Break at Chichester and there were 2 adults and 2 young children. We have had a super break. The kids have had fun on their bikes and playing hide and seek and the camp site was spotless, it is very well looked after from the lawns being cut to the cleanliness of the toilet block.
The staff were really friendly and we will return.

As members we use this site as a stop off spot to and from the ferry terminal in Portsmouth, 25 mins away. A nice quiet site with main bus route outside gate. Good food at Traveller's Joy 300 yards down road. There is a public path over the road which leads to Chichester shore line about (20min walk) away , from there you can walk along to Emsworth village or along the coast either way. Site facilities are good with toilets cleaned and disinfected at night leaving a health smell for the morning. A well stocked caravan spares and accessories dealership is also nearby. Farm shop over the road. Coop and train station 15mins walk away. All in all a good well managed/ kept site who . If we had stayed longer (min 4 nights) the staff would have received our appreciative bottle of wine for a good value/service site. Maybe next time.

We loved this site, it is immaculately clean and the wardens extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for visiting so many places in the area and also a very convenient location for buses and trains. There is an excellent farm shop a few minutes walk away, with a local Co-op and Boots also within easy walking distance. The camping shop just up the road was also very well equipped and very useful to have on the doorstep. There are lovely walks from the site around Chichester Harbour. We joined the Caravan and Camping Club "on the spot" as we were so impressed with the standard of this site and will definitely be coming back for more visits. A real gem!

A friendly helpful welcome on arrival set it off well. The site is small and well laid out. Showers push button but water plenty hot enough. Toilets in a separate room, the flush a bit lacking, all very clean and warm. Shame there is no recycling on site.
Station 10 minute walk with frequent trains to Portsmouth, 20 minute journey £5.70 return, or Southampton 50 minutes £12.50 return. It was to wet and muddy around to explore the area around the site but will do next time, assuming we get some dry weather.

Flat site, about 4 miles off the local motorway, pub, excellent farm shop and local Co-op within 5 mins. walk. Coastliner bus (every 30 mins) runs past the site, Portsmouth to Brighton. 10 mins. walk to one of the inlets of Chichester harbour. An old orchard but wardens collect fallen apples each morning/afternoon.
Our 5th. September visit to this site and just right for the Goodwood Revival Festival - no need to visit the festival - just view the vintage cars and aircraft as they motor or fly by the site!!
This really is a friendly site, well managed and a special mention must be made of Frank and Roma DAVIES the assistant wardens. Excellent walking around the various inlets of the harbour and an afternoon spent by the inlet at Prinsted village is memorable. Undoubtably this site must be one of the 'gems' in the C & CC stable.

This is our fourth stay at this site and our first review. The site is small but very well kept. The site and the facilities are spotless and a real credit to the wardens. There was a warm welcome and we were placed on our pitch by one of the wardens who was very helpful and pleasant. This site is within half an hour of Portsmouth an there are a number of seaside places within easy reach. We were pleased to see that the Travellers Joy pub had been fully refurbished, a nice pleasant pub, reasonable food but when we ate there the service was slow. We realy like this site because there is so much to see and do very near to the site. We will be bringing our grandchildren here next year.

Roma and Frank were the perfect hosts and caretakers. Always informative and cheery.
Roma and Frank were very accommodating as my husband towed the caravan to the site before myself and my best friend arrived. They directed my husband onto the pitch so that the caravan could be all linked up for us.
The idyllic site does not have a play area for children, but parents either amused their children onsite or took them out to the many surrounding sites e.g. Roman Palace excavation , Chichester harbour, Chichester town centre or West Wittering to mention but a few.
We spent 3 nights on the site and had a most memorable stay.
We would visit again and whole heartedly recommend others to create a treasured memory.
Frank and Roma maintain the site to perfection.

Not quite the usual friendly welcome we usually get but it was high season and the site was obvioulsy very busy but..... we felt we were a bit pushed in as the pitches seemed a little 'tihgt' - am sure the 6 metre rule applied left to right but not sure it took into account the rule from either side of the road. feel that facilties would be very pushed if less people used their own - but they were very clean

A bit expensive for the type of site, didnt feel really made welcome by the warden - compared to other sites but he was 'business like' - not too sure if they adhere to the 6metre rule here - yes side to side but we wereonly a drive away from the other units. facilites would be very very stretched if many of the units needed to use them? In defence, first time we have stayed in 'season' but wouldbe nice to have abitmore room??

We had two days at this exceptionally clean and very well run site. It is a great location for walking , the houses tucked behind stone walls with tumbling roses are sweet and the harbour transforms itself with each tide and sky. My husband is disabled and the for him facilities were good, I might have felt less anxious if this shower room had a seat for putting on ones socks, trousers and shoes post shower. Like the previous club site we were on there is a good international feel about the site, this time we met a really interesting dutch couple...although we had to keep a very close eye on Petroc our dog as he eyed their wooden clogs with great interest. A great site, we will go back.

An excellent location for quiet coastal walks, historic dockyard at Portsmouth and lovely Chichester Cathedral.
The site can be noisy being next to a main road.
The showers and toilets, while super-clean, get a little crowded at peak times.
There are not enough WC cubicles (for men)at busy times.
For a club, the site fees are steep. I have stayed on 5 star sites for less money. (I mean REAL 5 star sites)
Overall I found it quite acceptable and will visit again.

When you first drive up to this site, the first thing you notice is the small, tranquil way it is laid out. Facilities wise, there are no motorhome service facilities, the fresh water is in a position where you could get access to it with a longer hose. Waste is more of an issue.
The site is very clean, and they have the unusual arrangement whereby the showers are in a different building location to the toilet facilities. This works really well, as you don't get any nasty niffs whilst having a shower! There are sinks in both locations but no privacy cubicles.
Dogs are not very well catered for on the site, there is no dog walk and the nearest place is over the other side of the road via a style which is a bit inconvenient in the dark. Some of the pitches are close to the road so can be a bit noisy.
From this site its easy to get almost anywhere, there are some nice walks from the site, around the bay which is stunning. It is only a 20 minute drive to the ferry terminals in Portsmouth,

The site was well maintained by a very efficient crew. The cleanliness of the facilities was obviously high on their list of priorities as they allocate three hours a day to do so !! much appreciated. with two kids on my own the disabled facilities were offered to us to use while we were there but fee that the site would benefit from proper 'family' shower room.
I was placed on pitch 1 and I really struggled to pitch the tent as there seemed to be a layer of gravel only a couple of inces below the surface, for drainage ?? bending about 10 tent pegs in the process, not a great start.
loads to do and see around the area and I am sure we will be back, thanks.

What a fab site this is! The welcome was brilliant, we were advised about the shower blocks, water tap, to ask at Reception if we wanted to walk (which we did and were given a route plan) or know anything about the local area. The Shower Block and Toilets were immaculate - you could eat your dinner off the floors! The only critisism I have is that when I wanted a 'lie-in or camping leisurely start to the day' the shower block closed for cleaning at 10.30am, it would have been less hurried if it was 30 mins to an hour later.

Peaceful walks nearby. Would cetainly visit again.

I went there as I was going on a local walk. I found the staff really friendly and the hedgehogs quite noisey in the night. I also saw the biggest shooting star ever!

Hi, Wardens very very helpful, and a really lovely site with great shower block feels like home, great position for visiting Portsmouth and surrounding area by Bus or car, bus stop directly outside the site. Only slight downside is some road noise at the front of the site, but the site makes up for that, will certainly call again

Right off a main road, with all the amenities that that offers, and yet very quiet and peaceful secure site. Very helpful staff, and very well maintained facilities. Plenty of places to visit within easy reach. Was particularly impressed by Brighton, with it's wonderful street musicians and laid back ambience. Had a really nice, relaxing week. Give it a try.

A very friendly welcome. A well positioned site particularly as a major caravan retailer is within easy walking distance. We collected our new caravan from them and spent a very comfortable and peaceful night at this site.

Stayed at the site for a few days in Feb. 1/ term. Bit boggy under foot as they'd had so much rain, but all in all a nice site. Situated along a main road, although was very quiet, on a main bus route which was great as we caught the bus into Chichester, & also it had great cycle paths in the area, all the way to Chichester & surrounding area. Friendly enough, very clean showers & toilets,if a little old. Well stocked farm shop just opposite site & a coop around the corner.Station a stones throw away.A lovely pub serving home-cooked food at reasonable prices just outside the site entrance! A little dark on the site at night so would recommend taking torches to the loo's!! All in all would definatly recommend the site, we would go back.

We started off on a bad point when we asked to move pitches, we were told that the pitch we wanted was earmarked for a larger unit but saw smaller units using the pitch , when asked about this the warden made some excuse which we couldnt challenge.
when we asked to stay longer we were told that the site was full but the wesbsite told otherwise, just because I was "awkward" I guess??
the site is near a bus stop and gets you to portsmouth one way and brighton the other way,a chinese reastaurant was very close about 5 minute walk and we do recommend the food there, lovely but the pub which was next door isnt very friendly but the food also there was very nice, we went there two nights hoping for improvement but they were still the same, the shower heads were dirty when we got there with green mould and was still there when we left, a cause of leigionaires I believe.
One cold water tap for the whole site to use which isnt very good, lots of sites now have water on every pitch and they have the cheek to charge you "super pitch " money at £3 odd a night extra when you just get a pitch with some square mesh pieces set into the ground to stop the van sinking.
This review might get us banned from the site but it has to be told.

l have stayed many times over the years - it is ideally situated for access to Chichester, Portsmouth, Car Ferries and nearby harbour. Excellent local facilities including pub, farm shop, post office, convenience store, bus stops outside entrance, and railway station about 15 mins walk. BUT, the Site facilities are tired and need upgrading, there are occasional power failures and in 2010 not all the shower cubicles were operational. The Managers did an excellent job under sometimes trying circumstances, and were always cheerful and helpful. For these reasons l consider it to be expensive compared to other Club Sites with better facilities.

We chose this site as we wanted to explore the Portsmouth area ,after many a time travelling into Portsmouth to catch the ferries and never seeing enough of it , the site is in a great location for exploring the area we even travelled as far east as Brighton which I was very impressed with.
Portsmouth was everything and more than I thought it would be , and the towns and villages nearby including Chichester were all wonderful.
Back to the site , this site felt very much like a adult only site ,as there was nothing for Children to do on site also it was quite small 50+ pitches , every thing was immaculate to C&CC standards , there was some slight road noise from the road out side the site but nothing to worry about , a short walk 3 to 5 minutes from site was a well stocked spar shop and post office , also a farm shop , the other way a similar distance was a caravan dealer and accessory dept , and a Chinese restaurant.

We loved this site so much that we deccided to book again within 2 hours and are going on bank holiday at end August.
There was pride and care in the site and the owners were helpful and even gave a parking bay to my mother who has just had a knee operation.
You have to cross the road to let the dog off the lead but it is such a lovely walk all the way to the coast if you want it does not matter. Its near where we store the van so we want to make this a regular site for us to visit.
