Very helpfull wardens, super clean site, site is just a very short walk to the beach (3 mins) and the sand is at your feet, ideal for younger children, beach is clean and plenty rock pools for the children to explore, shop on site that sells milk, bread, etc, etc. 5 mins drive up into Seahouses were you can get your shopping from the various shops, very good Indian take aways chinese takeaway is also very good,....T.V. reception is very good on site but would advise if taking younger children take them something to keep them occupied x box, playstation, or D.S.

Just Had a very nice stay at this site, the wardens were very friendly and helpfull, It was very clean and well kept, The weather was the coldest on record for sixty years, which made getting a shower very off-putting, would like to see a little more heat in the toilet block otherwise every-thing was fine,It was our first stay at this site but we will come back soon.

Having driven past this site for over twenty years, we finally camped there last year and again over the Easter holiday 2013 and we are about to book again. It is a wonderfully peaceful place, with easy access to the beach and the seaside villages nearby and friendly, welcoming staff.

Great location in beautiful countryside, adjacent to the beach - an area of outstanding natural beauty, with many places of interest within reasonable distance of the site.
Very friendly staff take every care and consideration to make your stay enjoyable. Facilities are very clean.
We normally stay in our 1972 VW T2 camper on small CLs, so this was a major change for us, and we found it had everything we needed, so no complaints. Some may complain about the lack of waste water disposal points, but we just took all of our washing up to the facilities block, where there was loads of hot water and lots of sinks. There seemed to be lots of electric hook-up points, but we don't use electric, so I can't comment on how good or bad this facility was.
The only downside was the huge booms of the bird-scarers on adjacent farming land, which started before 8am, even on Good Friday and Easter Sunday and went on all day to dusk.
Best walking was south to Lower Newton and the Ship Inn! Long walk, but locally brewed and interesting beers made it worthwhile and the walk back seemed much quicker! Cragside is worth a visit (45 mins car journey), but too cold and choppy to go to Farne islands when we were there. Go back? Yes. In May/June when there is more wildlife on Farne and also the rhododendrons are in bloom in Cragside - oh, and the weather has warmed up. Freezing when we went, but very enjoyable.

Just Spent four fantastic nights at Beadnell Bay, Management so friendly and accommodating nothing was to much trouble, such a relaxed atmosphere fantastic shop,Chip Shop and Pub(dog friendly) all within 5-10 min walk superb for walking the dogs on the beach can not recommend this site highly enough!! one comment though considering the toilets have been refurbished to a very high standard I was disappointed in the fact that the windows were in a bit of a state and had they have been replaced I would have given this site 11 out of 10

We stayed here in August and found the staff very friendly. In May we stayed on the field at the back of the site for the annual Northumbrian DA and decided to return to the area after viewing the site then. This site has great potential, it's busy being re-vamped and extended to accommodate more caravans which is brilliant as in the past caravans were not permitted. It would be nice to see some trees/shrubs planted around the new part of the site. I'm looking forward to seeing it completed. The surrounding area is spectacular and suits every taste. This is an ideal spot to set up as a base when visiting Northumberland.

Had a very pleasant stay here with our new puppy. Very easy access to the beach. Village pub, shop and chip shop just over the road as well. A nice walk to Seahouses up the sands with pubs and attractions like trips to the Farne islands the only thing was that the bus that was on the timetable didn’t turn up to get us back to site but we got a cheap taxi no problem. The site offers the best of both worlds being surrounded by open countryside with good views plus being close to the sea. Good points; - Nice staff, Peaceful site, loads of fresh air, plenty of open space, dog loved it. Bad points; - Non really, apart from the shower floor not sloping enough so you stood in a puddle to get dry and the only real ale on at the local pub was Black sheep bitter. (Seahouses had a better choice) but if that’s all we have to complain about, that’s OK. Definitely will be back.

Friendly HSMs.
Lack of facilities for motorhomes to dump grey water is a negative. When we last visited we used a hose into a drain. This time only option offered was to use a bucket, and tip into Chemical disposal.
As the site is growing the facilities will soon be inadequate for needs in peak season.
Easy walking access along beach to Newton (3m) and Seahouses (2m). Local shop useful for essentials. Two pubs in Beadnell have meals at various times of day and week.

This was our first time at Beadnell. The pictures on the internet do not do this site justice, it's lovely, just a few minutes walk from the beach, clean, flat with an excellent new shower and toilet block. Staff are friendly and helpfull and are a fountain of knowledge about the local area. We chose this site because we wanted the best of both worlds - the coast and as a base to explorer the surrounding area. We stayed for 6 days and went as far as Berwick upon Tweed and Cragside country estate. Although we had blistering sunshine with being on the coast it did get a little blustery at times. Therefore our advice is to choose your tent to withstand the winds and peg it well (check regularly). We want some tranquility and this was a lovely quiet site. Our only negative comment was that this site, like many others, are poor on recycling facilities - there aren't any. Would definitely go again and highly recommended.

Good site and spacious. A little barren, could do with a few trees to break the site up a little. Was a little upset with the toilets closing for over an hour at a time with no other facilities to use. Having two small children wanting a wee just when they close the block is annoying. Please leave the disabled toilet open. Very clean though. Beach is OK, a bit rocky but good for rock pools which the kids loved. Not sure if I would go back but not disappointed.

Lovely site well-maintained, adjacent to beach and 5 minutes walk from village, pub, chip shop and shop. The new "temporary" wardens couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - would certainly recommend they are kept on - an excellent advert for the club! Site perfect for dog walking as you can cross the road to the beach and walk for miles along the beach in either direction. Brilliant also for bird watchers - loads of activity at low tide right by site and 2 miles from Seahouses and the "Farnes". Will definitely return.

Just spent our first weekend of this season at Beadnell. Have been coming here for the past 3 years and am glad to see that the reception and shore/toilet blocks have had a re vamp. Fantastic difference a few mod cons have made. Staff there this season are great and nothing is too much trouble. Only half an hours walk from Seahouses and a great little chippy across the road. Site reception has a small stock of store cupboard and fresh produce, as well as sweets and ice creams.

I've been visiting Beadnell since I was 9 years old but never stayed at the camp site until a couple of years ago. Now it's my favorite place to stay. the recent update of the facilities has made it more comfortable but my favorite thing is laying in bed at night listening to the sea break onto the beach!! Blimey Charlie! After reading the negative comments on this website before we arrived, we thought we would just take this campsite as it comes and were prepared to put up with facilities that might be a bit passé.(I've suffered far worse, squeak!), but we were really pleasantly suprised with this campsite.
The staff were friendly. The facilities were spot-on, (clean and modern). We had no problems accessing the pitch, (it had been raining heavily in the previous week, but there were no ruts or potholes in the grass). A thoroughly enjoyable weekend was had by all.
So, my fellow campers, I would wholeheartedly recommend this campsite. Toodle pip.

having read most reviews, and visited the site on many occasions , i would point out that the site is going through a redevelopment phase, I am a member with a caravan but use this site to camp on my motorcycle, a friendly welcome awaits, and yes facilities are standard but are improving, never had no complaints from me , a caravan pitch area is in the pipeline and i cant wait to get there one of my favourite sites lovelt area, nice villages nearby , good pubs with live entertainment , and plenty of wide open space on the beaches .
development is due to strict rules in the area, so be patient folks it will improve over the next couple of years i,m sure , but on the whole, a good basic site for camping a few nites to a weeks stay , yes its windy.... come on its northumberland! not casta brava , enjoy your camping !!

First of all this is a fantastic location and the Club should improve this site as the location deserves better. This site could be a real diamond. The duty warden was very friendly and his local knowledge helped us get around. The facilities are very dated and the wardens must have a hard time trying to make them look clean. The site sits on a local road that does have some traffic but certainly not a busy road. Local bus stop is near the site entrance. The Northumberland Heritage Coast is on the doorstep with plenty to do and see, or just walking in either direction on the magnificent beach. The new field (Owned by a local rented by the club) that opened up this season is very rough, long grass and badly pitted road. The whole area would not be very pleasant if there was a lot of rain. We will return next season as this is area that needs a few visits to take in all that is available. We did have a fantastic time.

The staff were friendly and the site location close to the beach is good, but otherwise this site is very poor. The facilities are scruffy, not very well maintained and in need of modernisation. The pitches are poorly marked out and the roads around the campsite are poor. There is no motorhome service point. The location was very noisy, both from unregulated groups of campers and from the busy road that runs immediately adjacent to the site. I would urge the Camping and Caravanning Club either to modernise this site or abandon it - at present it is a blot on the Club's otherwise high standards.

The Beadnell Bay site is in a stunning location only a couple of minutes away, across a not-too-busy road, from the sea-shore. The wardens were very friendly and helpful but doing their best in very difficult conditions. The access road around the field is a pot-holed dirt track which in the prevailing wet weather conditions was impassable in places without suitable footwear. We would certainly go back to this site if some improvements were made to the drainage and to the demarkation of the pitches - there were some marker posts but no gravel/metalled footpaths. The showers are new. The WCs are ancient but adequate. The dish washing area gets cramped at busy times. None of these spoiled our holiday but it could have been much more comfortable. We were led to believe that although identified as a Club Site the actual site is owned by a local person but, alas, it is not at all well maintained. There is a regular bus service to Berwick and Alnick from the entrance of the site.

Wash block "tired" - faint smell of drains. No individual wash basin cubicles. Plenty of hot water. Main drawback - campsite track rutted and potholed and after heavy rain, impassable on foot without wellington boots. Grass very long and uncut, therefore wet and not an alternative to track. This site could be the jewel in the clubs crown with it's coastal location but unfortunately is let down by antiquated and outdated facilities.
We booked the site early in the year then later on found that some modernisation had taken place. This has added a large field behind the original roadside field (with some hardstandings and EHU) and the facilities now are unable to cope with the size of site.
This was compounded by a lack of consideration from other campers, leaving the showers flooded and even stealing the pictures and pot pourri from the facilities. I felt very sorry for the HSM's who where fighting a losing battle to maintain standards.
This was a site we were so looking forward to visiting but will not be returning to.
I have to ask the same question as earlier reviews, is this the sort of site that the club wants to put it's name to?
All in all very disappointed!

I cannot thank the site managers enough for their hospitality on our visit last week.
We stayed at Beadnell Bay for one night as part of our 5 day hiking trip on the Northumberland Coast Trail. We booked on the day of arrival (the nature of hiking means you are never too sure how far you'll get). We arrived at the end of a very long and tiring day's walking. The site manager's recognised this and offered us the use of their empty frame tent to save us the effort of erecting our own small tent for the night. A very small gesture perhaps - but one that meant a great deal to us and, I suspect, says a great deal about our hosts.
The site itself is in a lovely location. Yes, there is a road between it and the beach, but it is not a road that is too busy to cross by any means and the lovely beach is less than a minute away. It was a real pleasure having our first coffee of the day sat on the beach enjoying the magnificent view.
Beadnell is very close by and has a couple of lovely pubs. We had dinner at the Crastor Arms.
There are better sites in terms of facilities etc. But the facilities are exactly what you need for camping. Reasonable Showers, washing up facilities and decent toilets. But the location and the friendliness of our reception means we will definitely recommend it to anyone we know heading in that direction.

Very disappointing. Showers old and not very clean. The back of the site looks like an old field. Not enough electric hookups. To acess the beach you will have to cross a busy road. Noisy and to cap it all because of the lack of hookups we had a motorhome next to us which was running its generator most of the time. Glad it was just a 2 day stay. Would not go back there again. I was surprised this was classed as a Camping and Caravan Club Site

Just returned from a wonderful, peaceful 7-day holiday at Beadnell Bay. The real attraction is the location-would thoroughly recommend it based on this. We could just pop over the road onto the vast long sandy beach and spent most days enjoying the rock pools, wildlife and relaxing on the beach. You could also walk along the beach from the campsite to the nearest town-Seahouses in about 20 mins to pick up food and souvenirs, plus take a boat trip to the Farne Islands! The campsite seemed calm and peaceful even when it got full at the weekend. We were shown to a huge, well marked pitch and as we backpacked with our 2-person tent we had a lovely big space around us unlike some sites where we end up squashed between cars and marquees! The washing and other facilities are basic and dated but sufficient. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they sold freshly caught fish and free range local eggs in the office! This is a simple, friendly, quiet site in a stunning location and we'd highly recommend it.

Spent last week at beadnell with another couple and our 5 children (combined), all under 6. Had an absolutly superb time. facilities are basic, but clean with stacks of hot water. Nearby beaches were great (wet-suits recommended for the kids), villages, pubs, activities all good also. probably my favourite site. Electric hook-ups available also.

This was the first of the caravan sites we have stayed at,if this is your standard,I don't think we will be staying members for next year,it was re-painted ,old, and not too well maintained, the shower cubicals were tired and too small, too open, once the wind got up,there was very little protection.the grass had not been cut in some time, the clover was getting a little too over grown, not sure if the feld is used for cows off season, but there were a lot of flies.the saving grace was the fact that it was just a small walk to the beach, and the staff were very nice.

This is a lovely, if somewhat windy site and the welcome was friendly.
However, maybe it's because the electric hook-up is new, but the pitch lay-out for this was non-existant and very much a hit and miss affair.
I'm sure an hour with a white lime liner as used on sports fields would cure this.

We have been to this site now 3 years in a row. Its currently being redeveloped. So it was hard to work out the pitch area when we first arrived. The facility block has been extended but there is only 4 dish washing sinks, for 150 pitch site. The shower block and toilets are basic a little aged. Location is great next to the beach, Seahouses less than 2 miles away Bamburgh a little futher up the road.

The site is on the edge of a very busy road along the coast, the traffic never seemed to stop. You cannot see the sea from the site because of the dunes. The beach is extremely rocky save for a thin strip of sand. The site has not got marked out pitches so it is extremely difficult to ensure someone doesn't pitch in your area (which is no bother but it is when cars are hemmed in and when your view is just other peoples cars). Facilities are fine but very basic. People are friendly. Shame that half the tent area is being resurfaced at the moment so we were next to a huge field of mud - which was just yuk. Would not come again for a family stay. Sorry.

Very nice, welcoming friendly staff. We are a family with small children. Ideal for the beach and a short distance to seahouses and surrounding attractions. Facilities dated but nice and clean. A little park would make it ideal for families.

I booked this site before reading the reviews and almost cancelled. I'm so glad I didn't as we have had a fantastic 3 night stay at Beadnell.
The site has been updated and has electric hook up, clean warm large bathroom facitilites, wash up kitchen and laundry facilities. There is nothing more you could ask for, all are maintained by the very friendly staff and are as clean as the people who use them!... We stayed in the back field and although the occassional car could be heard dashing past it was drowned out by the sound of the waves, the combination of the fresh sea air & the relaxing sound of the tide knocked us out!! The winds were not a problem for us, at times a little brisk (remembering this is 50 yards from the ocean) but if you check the weather before you stay then gale force winds and a tent shouldn't be a problem either..
The location - the beach is literally across the road, Seahouses is 5 minutes up the road in the car or the village of Beadnell is 2 minute walk from the site offering a general store, a mighty fine chip shop and a lovely pub called The Crastor Arms which does an amazing sunday dinners! Half an hourish from Holy Island and 10 minutes from Bamburgh Castle, visiting both is a must!!
My only quarm is that we have had to come home!!
I would recommend this site & plan to stay again very soon!!

Staff friendly, welcoming. We'd read reviews so knew the facilities were not great but adequate; that suits us fine. The first night was hellish. I felt like I was on the verge of the M25 (a lot of traffic on the road), trying to sleep in the middle of a stag party. We were kept up til 2 or 3am - not by the younger surfers who got the rap for it, but by a tent full of middle aged men with a Land Rover, who left the car engine running for hours whilst playing the radio and, at around midnight, using the power to inflate an air bed. In the morning we heard there had been complaints but the site managers thought it was the younger men who were leaving that day. It wasn't. When we got back from our day out, the partygoers were still there. They were quieter the next night (only half an hour's music after they had been asked to shut up). Apparently there is a bell you can ring at any time in the night to summon help but we hadn't been told about it on arrival. They went quieter around midnight, although made a point of starting up the car and playing the radio after they had been visited by the site manager. Still a bad night's sleep as we were lying there rigid, waiting for them to start up again. A great site for surfers and maybe cyclists etc, but not a recommend for young families, I'm afraid. Shame as the site is in such a great location.

The site wardens were extremely friendly & welcoming, first off i must say the winds here can be overwhelming, if you camp here in a tent be warned!!! We had to abandon our tent in the middle of the night due to gale force winds, it was an epic battle to pack everything away in a storm! I would recommend this site for camper vans only, i would not camp here in a tent again. We did however thoroughly enjoy our stay before the winds came, a great base to explore beautiful Northumberland, 2 minutes walk to the beach. A small shop on camp, a chip shop and convenience store a few minutes walk away. Site facilities are dated but perfectly fine. I believe the site is due for an overhaul in the near future.

This site is located right next to the beach, making it ideal for families. It is also a good base for exploring the Northumberland countryside, castles and other places of interest.

Despite the grim picture on Google Street we booked confident that a club site would be acceptable at least.
On arrival the place looked much better in the sunshine with a full camp. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We needed three pitches together and this was all organised for arrival.
The toilets and showers are getting on a bit but are fantastically clean and well maintained and the site open and spacious. It is a great family site, lots of kids and dogs and a beach across the road and a chip shop next door.
I would heartily recommend the site.
