This site is easy to find & easy to access, from the moment we arrived until we left our stay was perfect the staff were most helpful & friendly, the washrooms are spacious & spotlessly clean, there is a public house almost on site that serves well priced food, a bus stop directly opposite the site entrance. I will be most certainly be making a return visit & thoroughly recommend this site to anyone.

Another great costal site, lovely sea views from our pitch, one of the best toilet/shower blocks we've used in C&CC. There is a bus stop just outside the entrance on the A379, we walked along the coast path into Dartmouth (Approx 2hrs) and then after a stroll around Dartmouth got the bus (No:93) back to the site, they run every hour. Would also highly recommend a walk down into Stoke Fleming village for a meal in the Green Dragon pub, great old 13th century coaching inn, also onto Blackpool Sands, well worth the short walk albeit dogs are not allowed on this EU blue flag beach for most of the year

A warm welcome when arrived, thankyou to the wardens for being patient with my pre-paid booking, I forgot the 0ver 50's discount included Very friendly and helpful A nice site just outside Stoke Fleming, the beaches of Blackpool Sands within easy walking distance along road and not far from Slapton Sands (bus or car). Darmouth about 2 miles by back road, can walk or catch a bus. Facilities on site very clean and tidy. Many hardstanding gravel pitches and grass pitches slightly sloping in 2 mains field areas. Can hear some road noise when busy but the views of the sea make it all worthwhile. Pub on site have some great offers and a garage adjacent the site entrance. Great for touring the area with lovely coastal walks. Would recommend and return again.

Lovely site with views of the sea.
Facilities were spotless and lovely and warm.
Great pub on site with excellent food at good prices, Carvery on Sundays also, steak night, tex-mex night, plus the basic usuals.
Great location for visiting the area and using as a base.
Roads are narrow though in the local area, even though we used the safe directions, the roads have high hedges along them which made us worry about clipping our van, so there was a lot of stopping and giving way to traffic just to be sure we got through intact!
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Lovely, well maintained site. Slightly sloping in areas, but not too much of a problem. We had a grass pitch with electric, which was well drained and very dry, no mud. Good location for Dartmouth, which is a short drive.
Toilet / shower block beautifully clean and modern with proper showers (not push button)...bizarre spray array pattern though, like pressurised drizzle! Not really great for showering a small child and not great for washing conditioner out! But they were lovely and hot, with ample changing room. Plenty of sinks and toilets.
Children's play area was secure and our daughter (6) enjoyed being able to play there without us constantly watching her...the whole site felt safe and secure and she would happily take herself off to the toilet block by herself.
Not a great deal in the locality for younger children, beach at Blackpool Sands looked nice, but there was a car parking charge of £3 per day...not a lot, I know, but mounts up over a week.
We had a lovely week, despite the cold and wind (very, very windy) and may well return.

Warm welcome and shown to pitch. Site tidy, ablutions spotlessly clean.
Views to coast on one side, countryside the other.
Bus stop at gate with routes to Dartmouth and Plymouth. Good walking routes.
On site pub recommended for its welcoming staff. Serves decent pub grub at reasonable prices.
We will definitely stay here again, hopefully with temperatures above the 5'C we had.

this was our third venture into camping and caravaning, and luckily for us this site was one of the easier to find ! the location is lovely, we found getting about by taxi to be very good as we were only there for two nights. The pub on site is fine for a quick meal, there is also a wide assortment of restaurants in Dartmouth. We could not fault the site which was very clean throughout and so peaceful with a lovely sea view. We would recommend this for anyone as it is such a lovely area surrounding Dartmouth itself.

We are new to caravanning and this was the third site we stayed at so we do not have as many under our belt as others ! The one thing I felt was very very disappointing was although they was about 12 toilets in a block there were every only 3 open all the other toilets were locked off. Also there were about 6 showers in each block but only ever 3 open.
I could understand if the site was nearly empty but I counted 46 pitches occupied. As novices is this normal for the club ??
Apart from this we enjoyed our stay as we enjoyed the area.

First visit to this site. The welcome was warm. The facilities were very clean and to a high standard. There is easy access to Dartmouth by foot (prepare for steep inclines on return). Bus stop opposite the entrance. Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands within easy travelling distance.
The pub at the entrance to the site we would recommend for good eating.

Splended site, spotless shower block and friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay there although got a bit soggy with the torrential rain we had for a couple of days.Cheered up when the sun came out mid-week and went to Dartmouth Regatta, a great day out and best fish chips I've ever tasted at the Rockfish restaurant. I can also recommend the pub on site for good value.
Would certainly visit again

If you are unlucky enough to be pitched in the grass field with hook up then be worned the drainage on this site is terrible and there are no tarmac paths in the field area. The mud was horendous and became worse as the weekend went on, ok it was raining for two days but i have stopped at other grass sites when we have had none stop rain but still did not experience this. it would have been better if they had phoned us and told us not to come. What do we pay our membership for????

We have just returned from our weeks holiday. We decided to come here as our main holiday this year as we are trying to save money. We couldnt have wished for a better week (with the exception of the rain the day we arrived and the day we left) we had glorious hot weather and have come back with a lovely sun tan. The staff at this site are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and always strike up conversation if they pass you on the pathway. The onsite shop stocks all of the essentials, and the shower/toilet block are a 5star rating. We would have no hesitation in returning to this site and would highly recommend it to families, young and older couples. The pub onsite serves excellent food and has a great selection of beverages. Blackpool Sands beech is just a short walk away and gives you an award winning and immaculate beach to bathe and soak up the sun. What more can I say about this site but go and experience it for yourselves. I defy anyone to disagree with the positive excelence that I have reviewed for this site.
Thanks for a great holiday Gerry, Dave and other park wardens. :)

We so enjoyed our stay, only 3 nights wish we could have stayed longer.
Staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and informed us where all the faciliets were when showing us to our pitch giving us an information leaflet with telephone numbers for Doctor, taxis, churches etc, a bus time table was also available with bus stop located just out side of site handy for Dartmouth.
The site was kept very clean and tidy as were the toilets and shower blocks.
This site is a credit to the staff there. We will most certainly go back

Good site with friendly staff. Office with basic shop open two and a half hours a day. Plenty of rock pegs for sale. The site is slightly sloping and high up so can be windy. Fuel station very close. Good carvery at the Deer Park Inn.
We set up our trailer tent in the main field which has hard standing pitches. In spite of atrocious weather with local flood warnings, this drained quite well. The second field (grass) was mostly tents and looked pretty muddy.
The facilities were always clean but by the end of the week, in the ladies, 8 out of the 12 toilet cubicles and 2 of the 6 showers were locked shut. Individual washing cubicles would improve the facilities enormously. We visited in term time so not peak season, but the site was completely quiet by 11.00pm.
The hourly bus service to Dartmouth, was excellent- no worries about parking in Dartmouth. Great views, over the high hedges from the top of the double decker bus. The Round Robin trip of steam train, bus and river cruise is well worth doing. Kingsbridge is good for a rainy day and has a large car park.

This is a really lovely park. Located perfectly for a trip into Dartmouth or many of the surrounding areas. We did catch the bus one day but on the Sunday, there are no buses so had to rely on getting taxis to and from Dartmouth as we were there for the music festival. The cost for the taxi was £6 although we agreed this fare over the telephone and were told its usually much more.
There is a little shop on site selling a few basics but the best bit by far is the newly opened Deer park Inn, great for a drink, a snack or a full meal. We had the Carvery and it was lovely.

The grass was in superb condition for our tent with only a gentle slope on our pitch.Pegs held well and were easily hammered in. The site is quite exposed which gives great views but meant our windbreak made a big improvement to comfort and for cooking.

This was our return to camping after 25 years. This site exceeded all our expectations and we were able to enjoy ourselves despite the very varied Easter weather. Everything had a beginning of season brightness and was spotlessly clean.
There is plenty to do in the area, we would especially recommend a visit to Agatha Chriisties house Greenlands. Take a boat from Dartmouth. Coastal views and walks are excellent too.
Finally the pub next door has reopened and while not being gourmet standard gave excellent value for money- sunday lunch for 4 including drinks for less that £40

A smashing site, in a great location. As peaceful or as energetic as you like to make it. Drivers need to be aware that the approach road is a tad narrow, but as long as you are careful, no problems. Although imacculately clean the shower blocks are not the most modern, but more than adequate. Papers and pies can be ordered daily. Pity the Deer Park restaurant situated outside the entrance is closed as the walk to the Green Dragon in Stoke Fleming is OK, the walk back (uphill all the way) is a bit of a trial. Especially after a few drinks. The bus stop right outside the main entrance and a short bus ride to Dartmouth is a great experience through narrowlanes and even narrower streets. Regular at 10 to the hour through most of the day with the last bus back at 18.15. Ferries good value with buses to Brixham, Paignton and torquay. Last but not least, the staff at the site are very friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely use this site again.

We have used this site many times and it is always a great site with very caring, helpful staff. There was a pub on site which was no great shakes, but for reasonable ‘pub grub’ it was OK. Importantly the pub was available for the meal on the first night after travelling all day – but when we arrived last time it had ceased trading. Perhaps a note on the website would help so others (and there were many families trying the door) would know before arriving. As it happens we walked into the village and found a busy pub serving reasonable food. Very few tables, and overstretched staff, forced many people away.
Great site but be prepared to not have an easy meal at the pub!

Lovely site, well up to the usual standards for cleanliness in toilet/shower blocks, good pot washing area (with a sea view) - pity the Deer Park Inn at the entrance has closed down but hopefully this will be rectified soon.
Only gripe would be the noise levels from the park area (which the wardens did their best to control) and access to that play park....right through the middle of our pitch, jumping over guy ropes and bashing into our van in the process. This was not the fault of the site or the wardens but I wouldn't return unless I could pitch well away from this next time.
Nice part of the country, lovely sea views from the site, which was peaceful and quiet after 11 p.m. Shop sold fresh bread which could be ordered and had lots of info on local attractions etc. (We used the Sportsmans Arms - about 10 mins. away - good carvery and steaks, quite reasonable prices for food but expensive for drinks).
Round Robin trip from Dartmouth is a must (£62 for a family ticket)

This was our second visit to this site and we had a good time; as other reviews mention the site is well located, clean etc etc. However we have a couple of negative comments from this stay - unfortunately the wardens were using the grass cutters/lawn mowers to guide new arrivals to their pitches which really did spoil the peace and quiet and given that it was a busy bank holiday we got to hear the machine many times! Also we experienced cars being driven back to pitches as late as 1 and 2 in the morning and being driven away as early as 6am - not at all appreciated!!

We have returned from 11 fab nights at the site (the only downside for us was we couldn't stay longer). We feel this is the best site we have visited, facilities are spotless all the time. The site is well kept. The pitch we had was excellent, not too far from the park, or from the toilets. The beach isnt too far to walk too - the parking at the beach is a little pricey. Dartmouth is a nice town and good for crabbing. The Sportsman is good for a meal. Nice outdoor pool just down the road. We have had a great holiday and look forward to visiting again. We have just returned from 12 nights at this site with my twin boys aged 3. We booked a jumbo pitch and we weren't disappointed with the space allocated to us in terms of size you really couldn't wish for more. The pitches are very well kept indeed. The facilities are the cleanest I have ever seen, in fact they put my gym to shame!! The showers are hot and quite powerful and there is a family shower room which was essential for us. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the recycling scheme on site is well done. There were a few negatives. The first of these was not the fault of the site, the pub on site has closed down which was a real blow as we partly bookd cos of this. The shop doesn't have a huge variety and we were in the bottom field whcih meant a very long walk with the kids to the facilities. There was a portaloo nearish to the tent but the boys weren't keen on it so we had a really long trek. The play area was too old for our children as well which was a shame. The area is wonderful I would recommend the local pub the Green Dragon and for food there are fab places in Dartmouth The Floating Bridge is great with kiddies. Cockington craft centre in Torquay is also well worth a look. The local beach is Blackpool Sands, and is best reached on foot (takes about 30 mins with kids the site have a really handy walking guide on howto get there) or by bus (which stops outside the campsite and is very handy!) as the car park costs a bit it is very stoney too so make use of the sandpits. Bantham beach further along the coast is a great sandy beach. If you get a chance go to the Church House Inn in Churchtown it really is wonderful. All in all the site is well run and friendly. I feel it was a bit expensive at over £400 for 12 nights but we had a great time. The best sea views and proximity to facilities are on the hardstanding pitches so perhaps this is one for caravaners.

Very friendly welcome. We were in a group of three families and we were all close together.
Park and ride is close to the site and we made good use of it. The children enjoyed the park on site.
We all enjoyed a walk down to Blackpool sands (which is a bit too stony and water gets very deep very quick). My children aged nine and six managed the walk although it is a bit steep but manageable.

Our second time of use - and again a very positive experience.
One drawback was the fact that the next door pub had closed, so we had to out to the Sportsman - on our way in - and had a very agreeable meal with good local beer.
One question - I have often heard of and met a camp site dog,but did I see a camp site rabbit at his site??
Disabled facilities were very good and I was able to use my RADAR key. Any chance of getting this facility on other sites instead opf having to loan out Yale keys!

We've also had a great half term week at Dartmouth. Very friendly welcome from staff and very helpful throughout the week. Site well maintained and facilities spotless. The play area is enclosed with plenty of room to run around in and has a nice climbing frame / climbing wall / bars / slide set-up.
We enjoyed strolling through Dartmouth town and our children enjoyed crabbing for the first time, and we even got to see a seal in the water! A good base to visit the castle, go on a boat trip or a steam train ride. Also other towns are not too far away if you want to go exploring.
The beach at Blackpool Sands has a nice cafe and shop, and the best beach toilets we’ve come across! Parking costs £4 per day but you park right next to the beach. It is a shingle beach but there are two giant sand pits on the beach so the children can still build their sand castles!
We found a small outdoor swimming pool open to the public at the nearby Dartmouth Academy School. Unfortunately we discovered it on our last day at 5pm, when it was closing for the day, but if looked like a nice place for a swim.
Thoroughly enjoyed our week at this site!

Just had a great half term week at Dartmouth, lovely clean site, very friendly staff on hand who always look to help you where they can. If it had another toilet/shower block on the opposite side of the site it would be an absolute cracker! Close to Dartmouth and the beach at Blackpool Sands (good cafe/shop/toilets and can park right next to beach). Excellent play area for the kids. Dont be put off by the look of the pub next to the site, friendly staff and good food! Would certainly recommend the site.

Having visited the site prior to and over the Easter period, i thought i would post this review.
staff were very helpfull and friendly, the site facilities were very clean and in excellant repair
We asked for and got an area with WI-Fi connection and the signal strength remained constant.
Dartmouth and the fantastic scenery around Blackpool beach was only few minutes drive away
the only negative for me was the charge of £10 per person for our Son and g/f who stayed within our trailer tent for one night (expensive shower that !)
overall highly recommended and will definatly use the site again.

When we arrived the reception was closed, we had to ring a number to let them know we arrived. We did not wait long.
The hard standing pitch was well placed, not too far away from the loos & showers. They were very clean and warm at all times, the facilities were up to a very high standard.
The pitch was near to the lovely childrens park area, my toddler enjoyed discovering the park!
we would return, stay longer than the one nite which we did at the start of our holiday.
once again, the showers and loos very high standard.

We visited the site in August 2009 and returned in August 2010 which speaks for itself. Obviously this is peak season so the facilities can't be spotlessly clean all the time but I've no doubt at quieter times they would score 5 points for cleanliness. The staff are very welcoming, courteous and helpful. Site location is superb with many pitches having a limited sea view. The downside of that being that it's pretty exposed in bad weather. A lovely walk down into Dartmouth (you may want to take the bus back though) and the glorious Blackpool Sands nearby too. Excellent site with something for everyone. Highly recommended.

We have just enjoyed a most delightful stay at the Dartmouth site. The facilities are kept in superb condition and the grounds are also kept tidy and well mown on grass areas. The access roads are a little challenging, but locals are considerate drivers on the whole. All the staff are friendly and most helpful. We would recommend the site unreservedly.

Although this site was very good we were dissapionted with the Family room. It was a well equiped wet room and therefore only had shower facilities. This making it the same as the male and female areas washing areas. We were camping with a baby and a one year old who still required bathing so it was unsuitable for our purpose.

Great site. level pitches, all electric. Can be a good walk to the toilet block which may be a consideration for some people, and although Anna could not have been more helpful in helping me to sort a suitable pitch for us you will need to discuss this when booking during high season.
Some of the local siteseeing can involve very narrow roads and lots of reversing to let the locals pass, but again Anna is a mine of local information so always worth discussing plans with her. Where possible go on foot and don't forget swimsuit for the great local beaches. National Trust house 'Overbecks' was a nightmare to drive to.........not recommended!!! but the Dartmouth 'round robin' on the steam train, open top bus (take a head scarf!) and river boat (take binoculars) was fantastic and well worth the price.

Faultless! The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Easy walk to the perfect beach (you have to try the cafe, all local, fresh and organic), beautiful village with shops and restaurant with local food.
Possibly the cleanest facilities we've ever seen. We'll be back.
