Have visited in the past and enjoyed the stay but when went to book again, proces seem to have gone up considerably. One camper stated ' value for money' but this must have een a while ago or in low season. £6.75 for one child is far too steep and we wont be returning as it's cheaper to stay in a nice hotel!

This is the first club site we have stayed on and would highly recommend it. The site is clean with great amenities and friendly, helpful staff. The pitches are generous and it is a big site with lots of room. There are lots of good walks, with or without dogs, and it is a short walk to the coastal path. The site is about a 10 minute drive from town which suited us very well. There is some fantastic countryside around the site and we will be back next year.

the site is nicely situated for exploring the coast town or country.Walking into Scarborough is easily possible.
The site staff are friendly and welcoming.the site facilities are adequate, pitches are large and views are pleasant.
Pitches near the main road can be noisy during the day.
First class site.

Great site, with friendly helpful staff and very clean. Cheap carvery next door, fish and chips and breakfasts available on site. The only suggestion I would make to improve the site would be more electric hook ups.

Friendly and helpful staff on arrival - we had booked a jumbo pitch but were told that the nearest toilet block was closed but he offerred an alternative grass pitch and told us to set up as we wish and they would work round us. The toilet blocks were spotless as was the rest of the site. Great fish and chips and very easy walking distance to 3 pubs one which takes dogs (The Old Scalby Mills). Although we had a gale force 8 storm we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Perfect, only our third venture with our motorhome and really delightted with the venue. We walked into Scarborough along beautiful cliff tops and back via the road and a pub almost attached to the site which did roast nosh ups for the sum of £3.89 each. Bril. Both site carers and folk there were happy friendly and well happy to show us the ropes. clean, caring and will come back, soon. Thank you.

Although having caravaned for 15 years we have only recently joined the Club so this was our first visit to a Club site. The welcome we got was overwhelming and for our whole stay the friendliness of the staff never faltered. The facilities were spotless. Handy site for so many places to visit. Across the road, walk to cliffs about 15 mins. There's one place you can slither down to the beach if you're brave enough. Once down you have the beach virtually to yourself. Have to watch out for tide. Pub next door excellent for carvery and guiness. If this is an example of all Club sites then we are converted.

This is a big and well used site but the pitches are generously spaced so there is no feeling of being overcrowded. It is kept clean and well maintained, and the staff were cheerful and provided their help with finding the most suitable pitch and offered more when strong winds threatened to rip down the awning. There are sufficient toilets and showers in a number of blocks, although the more popular times of day might need a short wait for facilities. That said, they were kept very clean and well stocked, and had the hottest water ever encountered on a campsite!
The location is perfect for the coast, the North Yorkshire moors, site seeing or walking. The bus stop is immediately outside the main entrance. The pub at the back of the site has good breakfast or carvery food at nonsense prices, and the cafe on site competes well with fish, chips and local goodies. All in all a fantastic place to stay.

This was the first club site we used since joining camping and caravanning 18 months ago. We have stayed at a number of other club sites, but rate this as the best and always re visit whenever possible. The site is large, but well set out. It's location is perfect, just out of town to have the peace, but within a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to be back in it. Other coastal towns like Filey and Whitby are so easy to reach from here. We have a couple of lively dogs and there is a great walk over the road, taking you along the cliff tops down to the beach. If you want food quick, there's an onsite chippy, but we prefer the pub next door for the £3.59 carvery. Get there quick mind, it gets busy after 5pm. Toilets and showers are spot on and you can see the site is well maintained generally. We will continue to come here and recommend to most people.

We are very new to camping and wasnt sure what to expect. The staff where very very helpful nothing was to much trouble, the site was very clean and with it being high season I must say I thought with the amount of people there might be times of the day it wouldnt be as clean, but it was clean and tidy, all the times we were on site. Some parts of the site seemed busy but other parts where smaller and quieter so something for whatever type of area you prefer. I would recommend this site to anybody.

We have been going to the site since it was council run and seen the improvement that the Caravan & Camping Club has brought.
I can only reiterate what everyone else says about the site, it is one of our favourites.
My only gripe is the toilet/shower blocks, They've had little done to them over the years and are in serious need of attention.
It was good to see a new warden this year, much more helpful & friendly.

just back from this lovely site, cannot fault the cleanliness of the site, ate in pub next door, was good value for money we got a bargain only cost us £10 for 2 roast beef dinners and a bottle of house wine ( think they made a mistake ).Only thing a will say about the site is the showers, cubicles to small, no devideing wall between actual shower apart from a curtain, meaning all the water runs out onto the drying and dressing area, and could be doing with having the mirrors in the same cubilce and not in a seperate one thus brushing teeth etc you have to go into another one.Our pitch was electric and it was near the dishwashing area, and the toilets ,we will go back to this site at some point. So please go its lovely.

Considering the size of this site it was kept to an extremely high standard of cleanliness throughout. I could see how hard the staff worked and yet they always managed a smile in passing. I was right next to the entrance/exit yet still it was quiet. The pitch fortunately for me was level. The only negative for this site is that some parts where unlevel - THE ONLY MINOR POINT! I visited with my teenage daughter and we said we'd be visiting again next year as I felt safe and secure.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at this site wardens very friendly.Excellent site for walking, the beautiful cliff tops "Cleveland way" just across the road.
Excellent for families.Peasholm park just down the road and a short drive into Scarborough for town and beach.Plenty of dog friendly beaches around this area.
Lovely little cafe on site serving fish and chips and doing breakfasts.
Only one criticism. our toilet block had only 3 showers so it did get a bit crowded with queues and i only knew of 1 chemical disposal point for emptying the toilet which was quite a walk away and observed others wandering trying to find it had to tell them where it was.
All in all a great site and would highly recommend going.

On arrival the staff were very friendly personally showing you to a pitch and ensuring it was suitable for your needs. The site was clean and quiet however only two showers and three toilets in a block at times did cause waiting hence the score of 4. The cafe on site was ideal, the staff were very friendly and helpful It served a lovely cooked breakfast and nice food in the evening such as fish and chips, pie and lasagna. The shop on site was very small only stocking basic essentials. I would recommend this site to friends.

Thank you for a wonderful three-night-stay at this beautiful site which is expertly maintained by very friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed the facilities both on and off-site - (from the high standards of cleanliness to a tasty snack at the camp`s fish and chip shop, a lovely cliff-top walk, peace and quiet, a good, but inexpensive meal at the Carvery closeby, to the lovely sights and experiences of Scarborough and the environs). Just returned from a 9 night stay, and would definately recommend. The site is varied with regard to sloping, we were lucky enough to get a fairly flat pitch, but some looked quite steep. The showers were always clean and we didnt have to queue for them once. There are parent and children rooms, which we found great during the week, made life a lot easier with 2 little ones, however on a weekend when it was busy, we did have to wait and when we did finally get in the shower was freezing, so ended up taking the boys in the main showers, which seem to be too hot for little ones. Still a site we will definately go back to!

Well what can we say that others have not already commented on . . . friendly, clean and very, very welcoming. Shop well stocked, fab meal at the pub next door Scalby Manor, well worth a visit, great walks for the dog, over the road and field straight onto a very steep drop to the beach for the more athletic of course. Tesco essentials 10 mins by car, 20 min walk to Sea Life Centre either by cliff top walk (mind the steep rickety steps on the way down)or follow the sign around the road side. Very accessible to Whitby, Filey and Scarborough Town and Sea Front. Simply can't wait till next year when we will defo book again. We originally booked for 3 nights but stayed for 5 as we felt right at home.

the large site is provided with "satellite"toilet/shower units. However the unit near our unit had only 2 shower cubicles,1 urinal,3 wc`s.This was totally inadequate for the number of people on site at the time. The shower was poor design allowing waste water to enter the next cubicle through the gap at floor level, the drain levels seemed incorrect, also there appeared no temp. control for the often "hot" shower.outside the w.c. disposal site was positioned next to the washing up area, drinking water/waste water and rubbish bins, the only seperation between washing up and wc disposal was latted open wood with thick plastic screen. The smell around the area was not very pleasant!

The site was fantastic especially for the children with lots and lots of families there and lots of other children to play with. The site was quite slopping and you defenatly need chocks, but the site was enjoyable so it didn't matter. A 15 to 20 min walk took you to the beach over fields and cliffs a very enjoyable walk. The on site facilities were extreamly clean and tidy, and an extra bonus a fish and chip shop where the food was very reasonably priced.

It is the third year of visiting this site and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only complaint is that the WiFi is extremely limited.
'The quote from the brochure states:
100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora or fauna. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available'
However, you will never get 100% coverage whilst you have only one transmitter which is sited at the reception, it has nothing to do with the changing flora and fauna. The toilet and shower facilities provide excellent places to site the transmitters. I saw many people using mobile dongles which suggests to me that there is a greater demand for internet access than the site can provide for. Also if you had more transmitters more people are likely to use the facility which would enable you to reduce the high prices you charge for internet access.

Our stay was peaceful and we enjoyed a trip in to Scarborough which was only a five minute drive away. The site is also very close to the sea, we didn't realise just how close until the wind traveled across the field and hit our tent. The site is really dog friendly with an on-site dog walk, and a coastal walk within about 50 meters of the main reception. The beach is about 2 miles away but easily reached on foot or by car. The cliffs are quite high and probably best avoided by those who are scared of heights. Will definately return here. Well done for keeping such a nice site.

They did everything imaginable to help me and my husband and even allowed to stay an extra day while i was recovering which was amazing. I would definately recommend this site to everyone has it's probably the best site i ever stayed at. Once again thanks to all the staff for being so helpful.

A very peaceful camp site with ample facilities for a relaxing break. The on site staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a very nice, friendly and relaxing place to stay with plenty to do on the doorstep.

We have just spent four nights here. Everything just right, including the weather.
Staff very helpful we had a most enjoyable stay, very close to miles of walking along the Cleveland Way, which is tough walking to Ravenscar/Robin Hoods Bay, not for the unfit. Great part of the world.

Nice large site with plenty of room. We had a nice pitch up the hill from the playground as we had two kids with us. The playground is pretty basic for such a large site so there’s my negative and I do think they could consider improving that.
The highlight is the sites location with a lovely hill top walk (about 15 mins) to the beach and centre of Scarborough where we spent the day when we had reasonable weather. We also visited the Sealife Centre on the way back to the site which the kids loved.
There were plenty of toilet facilities and we were lucky with the pitch we were on that we were pretty close but far enough away to the wash up sinks etc although the site has plenty. Always clean and looks well kept.
We only stayed for a short visit so didn’t take in too much to be fair so cannot give many positives or negatives but we do plan to return. Wasn’t keen on the lady who checked us in, a bit snappy but I think she was under pressure, maybe we would get a better reception next time. We did enjoy our stay and will definitely return.

Beautiful site, staff very friendly and helpful, the facilities were always clean and tidy. The only problem was that we were pitched on one of the more sloping pitches but as we were camping in a tent we quickly got used to it. Would recommend site.

We have toured for many years in both caravans and motorhomes, and we return to Scarborough regularly, two or three time a year. It is by far, the best site in Britain on the best coastline - as far as we are concerned - the only problem is, it doesnt open all year!! Lots to do in the area for everyone. A quiet, busy but very well run site ideal for older bods like us, but great for families and dogs too!

Lovely site, ideal for pub next door and walking into scarborough. However we didn't like the 'grassed hardstanding' -it became muddy very easily and that's not what we wanted from a hardstanding pitch.

This was our second visit to this site. We arrived at a very busy time, but the staff were very efficient, and our wait was kept to a minimum. The cafe/chip shop staff were also very friendly.
Good walks from the site to the cliff top walks, and the dog walking field is one of the best we have experienced. I think you should publicise the presence of the excellent pub next door, one of the Crown Carvery chain.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the facilities were very clean, there were baby/toddler and parent rooms at each of the toilet/shower blocks which I thought was excellent with having a 19 month old little boy.
Great to have a chip shop on site (really friendly staff in there too. Definitely will be coming back but for a longer stay.
