Sandringham CCP site is one of the best I have been on so far. The staff are always friendly & helpful- 2011 staff were exceptional- Facilities are well maintained every day.We dont live far away, but the break away from the normal routine is superb at Sandringham- always something new to see or do. People we meet too are always pleased to share a tip & friendly chat. This year's Diamond Jubilee celebrations will be a bonus arround the area

The staff were extremely helpful and the site was clean. We have been to this site approximately 12 times and have never had any problems. The access road could do with levelling out but that will not stop us from coming again. Plently of walks and cycle paths nearby, visitor centre for a nice coffee and cake. The town of King's Lyyn is close as is the coast at Hunstanton. There is plenty to do in West Norfolk and would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay there.

I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

Had a wonderful holiday on a wonderful site. We had met the wardens at a previous site and they were as warm and friendly now as they were then! The site is in a lovely setting and there are great walks up to Sandringham. Would love to go back but not at this time of year, because of the SCI dog problems. Our dog has been diagnosed with cancer and will probably be our last holiday with her so would not have taken her there if I had known about the illness risks. The dogs in the adjacent caravans all got ill, I think we were lucky as I made sure that they weren't allowed off the lead in the woods and I washed their feet everytime we got back. Also, did a lot of the dog walking on the coast, which by the way, is stunning! Loved the higgledy piggledy parking rather than in a row like the caravan club site, but this turned out to be a disadvantage when a double axle caravan with a landrover was parked in front of us! Still had an amazing time and would go back, tomorrow!

A tranquil wooded site set in beautiful countryside where one is surrounded by birdsong. Wonderful walks through the Sandringham Estate are easily accessible direct from the site and we were lucky enough to spot deer. Sandringham House was definitely worth a visit. Arriving at the campsite we received a very warm and most helpful welcome, particularly from Barry (our warden of the year)! Nothing was too much trouble for him. We shall be returning next year.

The only hitch was the tv reception but we have now got ourselves a satellite system so no more problems.

Very pretty well kept site in the middle of the Sandringham estate. Good sized pitches. Friendly helpful staff. However if you are a dog owner do not visit from the end of August to the backend of the year unless you can manage not to take your dog in the surrounding woods. The Sandringham Estate appears to be one of the areas where dogs can contract a serious illness and ours did and has been hospitalised at the vets for the last 4 days and is getting worse not better and is not expected to recover. There are warnings on the gates to the woods but there is no designated dog walking area within the campsite. At the time of our visit within the space of a dozen caravans there were three sick dogs. There is no warning at this moment on the website about the danger to dogs at this time of the year yet when you arrive it seems to be commom knowledge and this problem has been around I think since 2009. If you do not have a dog an absolute gem of a campsite.

We picked Sandringham (a dog friendly site)because we have 3 Border Collies and 600 acres of woodland and lovely sandy beaches sounded perfect. We camped with friends, also dog lovers with 2 Border Collies, a Poodle and a Cockerpoo. So we have seven dogs between us. The site and facilities are 5 star and faultless, with lots of dog walking adjoining. Now for the bad news. We set up on Monday, having booked in until the following Sunday. On Thursday morning, the Cockerpoo was ill and taken to the local vet. Seasonal Canine Infection(SCI)was immediately diagnosed. We decided to leave on Thursday morning for home in Sussex as the Poodle was also showing symptoms. Today, Friday, our three Collies were ill, and taken to our vets. Two have been kept in on drips and will be monitored. Our friends two Collies have also been taken ill and the two little ones kept in on drips. That is all seven dogs taken ill. These are all very fit dogs which compete at a high level at dog agility shows.
I have since Googled SCI and found that it is common at Sandringham and other parts of Norfolk. Six dogs have died!
I cannot stress highly enough how important it is that dog owners should be made more aware of the risks of camping at Sandringham and that it should be published with the site information.

Good Points
Lovely setting - Sandringham is an easy walk through the woods. A large site with huge variety of pitches - we were allowed to choose our preferred one when we arrived - excellent washing/cleaning facilities which are kept very clean. A number of child play areas are also available. The site shop (which is shared with the Caravan Club site) is well stocked and didn't seem overly expensive.
The dog walk is superb and goes all the way round the edge of the site and can be joined at various places.
Fish and chip van was very welcome and was excellent quality.
Bad points
....errrr......nope can't think of any !!!!
In summary a superb site in wonderful surroundings which sets the standards for all the rest.

A lovely site despite the poor weather! and poor customer care from the start. The 'welcome' on arrival was not brilliant the lady had a very brusque manner and some insistance of seeing our membership cards, despite having booked though the site with our membership number on the paperwork! We are new to the CCC which she said she could tell!!!!! Can I suggest that the CCC make it clearer that Membership cards must be shown at all sites! Other than that shown to a choice of pitch which was lovely but again on enquiring if we could extend our departure to later on our departure day was told in no uncertain terms NO! This didn't leave me with a feeling of a Friendly Club, but don't be put off, the site is great and we will go back again and we'll be prepared for the check-in!!

We stayed at this site in tents for one night on our cycling holiday as it was just off the route one cycle path.
This is an otherwise reasonable site that is spoilt by the large numbers of pigeons living in the trees above and surrounding area where where we camped.
As a result the ground was covered in pigeon poo and by the morning our tents also had some poo on them. We even had pigeons coming near where we cooked, trying to beg food from us!
In my opinion this is a potential health hazard when cooking outside and is also not ideal for children to play outside.
This problem could easily be resolved by employing a pest control company.

Just arrived back home from a weeks camping, and i loved it. Went by myself for some peace and quiet, and i certainly got it. Staff were helpful (not that i needed to talk to them much as i had no problems), toilet blocks were always clean and perfectly working, the site was spotless with wardens regularly litter picking and the pitches were laid out superbly.
The beaches surrounding the area are brilliant, especially Brancaster beach which is well worth the drive. Dersingham (2 miles, if that) has a well stocked Budgens supermarket. I'll most definitely be back next year with the dog in tow!

We have just returned from our first visit to this site. Wonderful pitch, in wooded area, although we had plenty of choice if we had wanted to move elsewhere. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Shop was nearby for necessities, and it was a half hour walk to Sandringham House which is well worth a visit! Very easy to get to the coast and all those little beautiful beaches. Our favourite place turned out to be Hunstanton; a town about 15 mins north of Sandringham which was free from litter and not brash and'in your face' as some seaside towns now seem to be. The traffic on the A149 was very busy, but to be expected at this time of year. We did experience some noise from a few unruly children and footballs were being kicked around,(as experienced by other reviewers) but luckily not that close to our van. We are sure we will return for another visit, although we will take a slightly different route into the site, as the road we entered from was really bumpy!!! Regards, Al & Nova, North Wales

I visited this site for a couple of days as a backpacker.
The site is large, the facilities were excellent and were regularly cleaned.
For anyone using public transport to get to the site it is worth knowing that it is a 20-25 minute walk to the bus stop on the main road which is on the Coast-hopper route.
As to staff attitude I would have to say this was variable.
On arrival at the site I asked if there was anywhere I could charge my mobile phone later that evening. I was told that the reception was closed at 6pm but that there was someone on duty until 11pm and if I rang the bell someone would come and plug the phone in the office and I could collect an hour or so later. This I did on the first night of my stay and found the member of staff very helpful and friendly.
I followed the same procedure on day 2 to be met with indignant scorn by a different member of staff who appeared incensed that anyone should think being on duty implied that they could be expected to leave their unit for such a unimportant matter.
For this reason I would have to score the site lower for friendliness, and suggest that at least one member of staff should be reminded that the club markets itself as 'the friendly club'.

We have just spent 4 days of the school holidays on this site. We expected the site to be busy and noisy, but were pleasantly surprised. We had a wonderful break here and would recomend it to anyone.
The wardens were very friendly and suggested a couple of pitches we could use for our large tent. The second pitch was perfect, under some trees and only overlooked by the tents opposite.
The site was very quiet by 10pm and no screaming children in the morning. Our own children slept in...bliss!
We all loved the location in the forest and the fact that it was only a short drive to the sea.

The only down side to the stay was the standard of the fish and chips we bought from a visiting van, frozen chips and poor quality fish which we did not eat it cost us £29.50 for the family this was bought on recomendation . It is impossible to over state the customer care that the wardens at Sandringham, particularly Barry and Wendy showed when we stayed on the site in early June. I had a heart attack in the middle of the night and as we were staying on a pitch quite a way from the office we had to pack me and the dog into the car and drive to the entrance to meet the ambulance, this was at about 2 in the morning.
We had to leave the car in front of the gate but Barry and Wendy got out of bed to make sure that we were alright. They looked after our car and the dog so that Louise could come to hospital with me in the ambulance. This speeded up our journey to hospital and no doubt saved me from more serious problems.
The next day Barry drove from Sandringham to the hospital in Norwich, a round trip of over 100 miles to pick Louise up.
I was in hospital for 5 days and over this time Barry and Wendy took great pains to make sure Louise was alright.
When I came out of hospital we stayed on the site for another few days then on the last day Steve and Barry, two assistant wardens took the awning down and packed it away for us.
Louise and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Sandringham for their care and would recommend this site to all members. We look forward to visiting Sandringham again soon, but with a little less drama next time.
Thank you Barry and Wendy and your assistant wardens.

A very worrying time for my wife and two kids, whom had not been camping before in thier lives. Well it rained! I felt that all my hard work of convincing the motly crew was shattered within one weekend. The rain stopped long enougth for me to get the tent down and everything packed up in the car. "What a lovely place" wifey and daughter said. "Very pretty suroundings, very friendly staff, toilets and facilities kept wonderfully clean, shame it rained, can we come back again." I think if it wasn't for the above remarks my days of camping would have come to an abrupt end, so to the staff of sandringham, Thanks, (supersize). See you again for Sure.

A fantastic four nights at a lovely site. We had a great pitch in the trees near all the facilities. For a site with 250 pitches it really didn't feel big at all. The staff were helpful and very friendly, the toilet/ shower blocks were always clean and never seemed busy.
Our dogs loved the woods around the site that were designated for dog walking and our two year old was impressed with the children's play area and more importantly the onsite digger and tractor :0). All we needed extra was somewhere to officially play with the ever present rugby ball because we did break the no ball games rule (you can get away with it when you are a cheeky 2 year old)
We will definitely be back because we only scratched the surface of what there is to do in this area too. The Sandringham estate and north Norfolk coast are beautiful for walks. The coast hopper bus made long coastal walks easy too.
For a dog free day we used the day boarder service at Dogotel near Little Massingham and it made so many things we can't do with dogs in tow possible.

The site is very wellmaintained, easy to tow and pitch with a long caravan. We had no problems with 3 dogs and lots of lovely easy to get to dogs walks all round the site. Toilet and shower blocks were excellent and there were three big blocks, so never queued. Staff were helpful and offered different pitches. The admin staff in the office wouldn't give me my card back until I had been to the car to get my husband's card as well, building up a que of people to pay behind me. I aksed if we could stay after 12 and pay till 4pm but was told I would have to pay for both of us for the whole night - over £20 for 4 hours. Needless to say I didn't bother and came home. Accessing the location of the site is not straightforward if you are travelling North on the A149 from Kings Lynn as we were. Don’t turn off right onto the B1439 for West Newton as the ‘brown’ sign is for the Caravan Club site. Instead, stay on the A149 towards Hunstanton and then take the next available right hand turn (early warning ‘brown’ sign for Sandringham). This is a more direct route and also the road has been resurfaced. At the junction before the two Lodges, turn right and then first left at the very small Camping and Caravanning Club fingerpost.
If you are travelling South from Hunstanton, there is the correct ‘brown’ sign for Tents and Caravans. I don’t understand why the same signage doesn’t appear when travelling North on the A149.
As for the site itself, welcome on arrival was first rate. We were allowed to choose where to pitch. We had two units, a motorhome and a tent and we had pitches with electric hook-up facing each other.
The site is big. Each of the three areas has its own toilet/shower block. However, not all have the same facilities. They all have toilets/showers/wash area but not all have chemical disposal or outside rotary clothes lines.
Facilities in our area, at the end of the site, were well-looked after and clean. However, of the seven washbasin cubicles, three were permanently locked. There appeared to be no reason for them being locked and I didn’t see any notices explaining why they were locked. This was irritating as it meant having to queue for the remaining four.
If your unit is a tent, make sure you completely clear your pitch of fir cones as the grass areas are littered with them. Also, if you don’t like wood pigeons, which are in abundance, and they do commence a collective dawn chorus as soon as daylight appears, best not pitch near the fenced-off woodland.
Overall, a good site.

Great base for exploring north norfolk.
the beach at old Hunstanton is massive and allows dogs on.
Excellent site if you have dogs as there are loads of forrest walks straight from your pitch.
Very welcoming staff who were helpful
Nice half hour walk to the local village Dersingham where there are a couple of pubs that do good food and the locals are really friendly and made us welcome. one of the pub landlords offered us a lift back to the site!!!! declined him though as having 2 border terriers they are better when tired.

I had very high expectations of this site given its glowing reports historically. It's in a lovely, very peaceful location. It is a large and uneven site. Understandably it gets very busy.
The staff are very "process" driven (again, understably) and I do have concerns that male & female staff clean the ablutions block with minimal annoucement. When I was there, unsurprisingly teenage girls were using the Ladies at 10pm, walking around in very little and it was always the male that cleaned the Ladies and the lady that cleaned the Gents !
Disappointingly, the shop has ordinary hours. Missing a business opportunity ?
Lovely walk to the royal house and plenty of opportunity for exploring the countryside.
I rate the site as "OK".

Despite the downpour when we arrived (which was no fault of the site obviously!) we had a super stay. The site was clean and well maintained and our pitch (with electric) was perfect for our needs. Great spot for some peace and quiet but only a short drive to the coast for some seaside action. Lovely safe site for small children - our 7-year-old loved the freedom he had for riding his bike and playing 'dens' in the woods with his friend.
The only negative for us was that the site didn't have any fridges/freezers for campers to use. Reception hired out freezer blocks for 50p a go, but we could only get these during opening times which for us wasn't enough.
Highly recommended and we will go back when we want a North Norfolk holiday :)

Stayed over the May Bank holiday. Loved the site will be going again. It is particularly suitable for dog owners as there is a ciruclar walk around the campsite with lots of walks off of it. The staff were friendly and the toilet block very clean. We do not usually choose sites as large as this one but felt that the trees around the site stopped it from feeling too big. We recommend going to Sandringham even if you do not want to go in the house & gardens, as you can park there free and have a choice of walks, as well as a scenic drive through the grounds. There are loos, cafe and shop there.

This is a really pretty site but when it is windy, which was every day we were visiting, the dust is dreadful. It took us 3 hours to clean our awning after we got home and still some of the dust has stained the material. This is a large site and there are no indicators as to pitch numbers and no lighting after dark. This makes it very difficult to find your van if you have been out for the evening.

We visited this site in April and had a lovely break with our dogs, with good walks around the site and a lovely walk to sandringham house not far away. Coastal walks within a short drive away. The site facilities were kept clean and tidy regularly. we recommend this site. Also we must thank the staff as my husband left his watch in the shower block, when we returned home after realizing his watch had been lost my husband contacted the office and was told a watch had been handed in, once the staff member had confirmed the watch was my husbands it was posted back to us within a few days. Thank you sandringham staff for a lovely holiday location and the return of the watch.

Great site with friendly staff and very clean showers and toilets! Felt a bit crammed in but to be fair it was a bank holiday! However the site is so dusty my 3 and 1 yr old girls were perminantly filthy! I dont mind a bit of dirt but if you want your kids to stay remotely clean dont bother! Could do with having some pitches put doen to 10mm gravel to keep dust down.Other than this a very pleasant stay!

JUST RETURNED FROM A LONG WEEKEND HERE, WHAT A WONDERFUL SITE. SECLUDED AND VERY PEACEFUL EVEN THOUGH THE SITE WAS FULL. NOT TOO FAR FROM BEACHES IF YOU WANT TO GO, BUT FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF EVERYDAY LIFE. THE TOILET BLOCKS WERE VERY CLEAN AND SHOWERS NICE AND HOT, STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY. WE WERE LUCKY AND HAD A VERY SUNNY WEEKEND, OUR DAUGHTER LOVED THE RABBITS THAT CAME OUT AROUND THE CAMPSITE AND THINK WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF PHOTOS OF BABY RABBITS TO SIFT THROUGH.
ONLY A LITTLE MOAN BUT THE GROUND WAS VERY DRY AND DUSTY AND IT GETS TROD EVERYWHERE, JUST FINISHES SHAMPOOING THE CARPET IN THE CAMPER, BUT THAT CAN'T BE HELPED WILL KNOW FOR NEXT TIME.
WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING AGAIN. AND SOON

Our first time camping which was fantastic due to the location of the site and the facilities available. The showers and toilets were always clean, warm and close by. The shop on site had a huge range of goods for both eating and camping supplies. The walks and history of the area were fascinating and provided many days out in the country. Our dog thouroughly enjoyes the site with good walks surrounding the site. The staff were also very friendly and helpfull. Altogether a wonderful stay - we shall definitely be returning soon!

Sandringham is one of our favourite Club sites to visit.
Always a warm and very professional welcome. The staff are very helpful at all times and the site is set out well.
very dog friendly with a good dog excercise area away from the main camping site.
Plenty of room between the caravans and nice and quiet in the evenings.TV reception a bit poor but OK with a sat dish.
Highly recommended.

This was the 2nd time we visited the site, and we enjoyed it EVEN MORE! It was a wonderful get away for the family, and dog, (who was worn out by the end of the week!) The areas we were given BOTH times were great, they were away from cars, so that our dog could be put on a long lead and look around! It was a great holiday, along with some good weather, (the rain didn't stop us having fun) It was very peaceful, and we will most definitely be returning next year!

One of our favourite sites - being tucked amongst the woodland it hides its size, retaining a friendly feel.
Loads of space for the kids to run around, units are mixed together nicely and the useful shop neighbours the site boundary.

Lovely well maintained yet still natural site located in a beautiful wooded area of the Sandringham Estate.
We particularly enjoyed the local wildlife and the privacy provided by the trees. The toilet blocks are very clean and the staff are very helpful. Lots of woodland walks and Sandringham is just down the road.
A highlight of our visit outside of Sandringham itself was the Lavender Centre in nearby Heacham with its great shops and cafe.

This is a lovely site set in the royal estate at Sandringham , it has mainly level pitches ,a lot are set in woodland among the trees, for a large site it never felt crowded and we were their in August ,and the facility were plentiful and spotless , it was about a 2 mile walk to the Sandringham visitors centre , and there was numerous woodland walks from the site.
There is a small shop at the site entrance selling provisions, you can walk from this site to the adjacent Caravan club site, where you will notice a difference in sites, the caravan club site is more regimented and all hard standing, which in my opinion spoils the woodland feel that you get with the C&CC site.
Masses of space for children to run about and play in woods, teenagers would maybe be bored if not into walking , this site is a dog owners paradise with all the woodland walks, its not to far from the sea side resorts of Cromer and Sheringham.

Camped here with my wife, 2 kids and dog.Had a more than adequate jumbo tent pitch. All toilet blocks close to camping areas.
There was a well stocked shop nearby selling all essentials. Staff were great, friendly and helpful.
Loads of wooded walks and beach was an easy drive away. This is one of the best sites I have camped on and will definitely be going back next summer.

Following a nice greeting and choice of pitch and being told a strict 6 metre rule applies, we were suprised after a day out 3 tents 2 cars immediately in front of our tourer and couldnt get our car any where near.
Also no recycle bins whatsoever, facilities old and need updating although clean. Over all top prices for medium grade site.
Good position for visiting Sandringham and on bus route.
