"Camp at our secluded site in Kent, the Garden of England."
Opposite the Iron Age fort of the same name, our Club Site at Oldbury Hill lies just outside the M25 - London's orbital motorway - but you would never know since you are more likely to hear birdsong than traffic.

Just spent a lovely 4 days at this site, Pete & Denise have only been wardens of this site for 5 weeks but were extremely helpful, the site being on slope, chocks were supplied and pete gave help in positioning caravan over them. Very quiet site even with people having dogs. Looking forward to staying there again.

Last 1/2 mile of access (from A25) is narrow with passing baysbut absolutely no problem. The welcome was warm and friendly, tailor made chocks were brought over for the pitch we had chosen close to the top of the site so climb to toilet block was less and we also thought bottom of hill might be a bit soft to drive on as no roadway. We had glorious dry weather but still mud trod inside. Lower pitches have the benefit of evening sun. Let down by basic toilet facilities; when there's ice on the windows some heat wouldn't go amiss or failing that an external door that was self closing and internal doors that fitted. The shower curtain flapped around me when someone left the external door open. I would return. A good site for National Trust members and bird lovers. There's a brick built BBQ and wooden picnic table.

Have stayed at this site several times and keep coming back since 1999. Year before last was lovley as Tracy made it so what a lovely girl, hoping to go back at Easter this year 2013 and are hoping she is there again. My old dog loves the walks as do I and George when he gets into gear. Sevenoaks is lovely and holds many memories as was born in the area. Just update the toilet areas thats all we ask as otherwise no problems When Alan and Rose Pembrook were there is was a hoot as Rose always had something for the children to do. We have had rude site members there and very good ones but we still came back and again we are back this year.

Just got back from 5 days on this site, lovely open field but no intimate corners, just a field and sloping but chocks provided by helpfull staff, wnen wet which it was it is VERY muddy which carries into the toilet block, hence dirty feet in the shower and no where to dry them as all the floor is wet, this is not helped by the blocks being under a thick conopy of trees which pour water after rain. the managers do their best to keep it clean by mopping reguarly but this also means that the floor is NEVER dry. Probably a good site at the height of summer ( if there is any ) but not recommended when cold and wet.

We've just returned from our 4th visit to this site. After a warm welcome from site managers Geoff and Andi we were given a choice of pitches and decided to take advantage of the flat ground at the bottom of the site. Facilities were spotless and the entire site was clean and tidy. The woods across the road are perfect for people holidaying with their dogs. Looking forward to our next trip to this very pleasant site.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
We stayed on bankholiday weekend. The site is situated in the middle of a forest. Haveing dog's this is excellent for takeing them for there walk. The side have a bit of a slope and we where standing at the bottem of the slope, which get the after noon son. If you do your researcher on this side, you will find out it is a small, quiet and nature loveing side. All in all we had a good time. The pub ( the crown point) down the road is must, the food and beer is good and during our stay thay had something on every night.
DATE STAYED: August 2012
We were welcomed by the staff and shown where to pitch our van and given chocks for the site. The site was friendly and reasonably quiet even with lots of children on the site. We would certainly go again and recommend the site
SUITABLE FOR: Peaceful break
we took two 13yr old boys with speciall needs to this site only to be told that they could not play any ball games, and even when carrying a football pass the site shop a member of staff shouted at them and told them to return the ball back to the car,. to many rules and not a camp site for famlies. very dissopointed with they way they handled special needs children.
Fantastic site. Have enjoyed going to oldbury for the last 3 years but Geoff, Andie and Tracy make it even more enjoyable. The kids adore them, especially playing pooh sticks with Tracy!!
Always smiling, friendly, and happy to chat anytime.
Hoping they stay.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Fantastic staff - very welcoming, very friendly, excellent sense of humour and superb banter. They obviously work very hard indeed to maintain the site in excellent condiition (despite the somewhat dated toilet block) and possess a wealth of information on the local area. Nothing appears too much trouble - they even coped well with the utterly hopeless and inadequate C&CC IT system!
The area is great for walking with stunning views and beautiful houses, although some of the roads are very narrow indeed - literally not enough room for a pedestrian and a car to pass at the same time.
Plenty to do and see in the local area. Kemsing station is a challenge though. It is unmanned and the permit to travel machine does not work. The help system goes straight through to India and is useless, but the onboard train staff seem to understand the issues and did not fine us for not having a ticket. Worth noting if you do take the train to London.
Delightful staff were very welcoming and friendly. Very helpful when pitching on the slope.Despite the rain in the evenings we had a lovely break. There is so much to do in the area. We will certainly return.
DATE STAYED: July 2012
Lovely site in a great location. Warm welcome from the wardens who were only too willing to offer help which was greatfully accepted as I was attempting to put up an awning singlehandedly in windy conditions. Great dog walks with laods of places of interest locally. Definately worth a visit - we will be returning!
DATE STAYED: June 2012
This was our first visit to the site and we will definitely be returning. The wardens were very welcoming and friendly, and because the site is on a slope one of them escorted us to our pitch and levelled the caravan up for us (they even supplied the chocks).
The shower/ toilet block is a little old but is kept very clean, and the showers are nice and hot. There are only 3 showers but that was not a problem.
The site is next to woods which are great for walking (our dog loved it). You can purchase maps from reception as well as basic foodstuff, ice cream and gas etc.
This is a lovely site in a good location and well worth a visit.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Active break,Peaceful break
First time visiting this site, will certainly be returning. The wardens are very friendly and go out of their way to help. Although the site is on a slope on arrival the wardens follow you to your pitch with blocks and level your unit for you, never had that type of service before this made the process of setting up much quicker. The surronding area is woodland great walking especially for us with a dog.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Made very welcome, and friendly staff. there was a hill but didn't cause us any bother. Nice grass pitches well looked after. Will visit again. Thanks.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break
I agree with all the previous positive reviews, and can add we had a very nice stay here. The staff are particularly welcoming, friendly and have a very good sense of humour! An offer of help, should we need it, was great but in the end we coped ok!
The site is a good size sloping field but is flatter towards the bottom, it seemed to be very well draining considering the amount of rain that had fallen in the week before we arrived and the grass was well mown and kept.
The toilets and showers were very clean and it all worked well; although there are only 2 showers for males (1 in the toilet block, and 1 electric shower in the shower room) we never had to wait or queue, and the water was always hot.
It has been many years since I went camping, and this was to shakedown a new tent and kit so this site was ideal for us.
Thank you again to the staff
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
Friendly and efficient staff. Toilet block getting on a bit but clean and basically OK. Excellent for dogs, great walks all around. Good pubs and eateries in the local area. Secluded and close to nature, but not far from civilisation either.
The site slopes a bit more than the online pictures tend to show, but despite this it gets very muddy when it rains (as it did when we were there!) It could really do with more roadways and some hard standings.

A very friendly welcome from the new managers , we chose a reasonably level pitch at the bottom end of the site. It was an uphill walk to the shower block but we were fine with it.The facilities were fine, clean and the water was hot, shame about the outside air temperature ! A lovely site for walking and our dogs really enjoyed the walks in the woods a minute across the lane ~ excellent. We live 20 mins from this site but had never been to the area, but once pitched up we could have been anywhere it was so peaceful and relaxing. Slight noise from Brands hatch race track in the distance but it wasnt enough to bother us. Will be going back again for another long weekend soon we hope.
DATE STAYED: April 2012
We arrived at the site and were greeted by friendly staff who, after checking us in,escorted us to our pitch. We had booked a jumbo grass pitch with hookup. Unlucky for us,the jumbo pitches are at the bottom of the site and the site is on a steep slope. It's a lovely quite area but the steepness of the site made it tough going for me as I am getting over a stay in hospital. Being at the lowest part of the site it meant that we had an uphill trek for the water tap and bins toilets and showers reception/shop.
It would have been nice if the shop had been open longer instead of an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Active break
Have visited a few club sites this year and for location this was very good. attractive secluded site. However most of it is on quite a slope, all grass pitches and it's a shame that a third of the site was unusable due to the severity of the slope. The insertion of a road across the slope forming a loop with the existing road would enable 7 or 8 hardstanding pitches which would be an improvement. That would also mean less churning of the grass areas when wet. Facilities were a bit of a hike from the bottom of the hill to the top which wasn't all that convenient for my wife who has an arthritic knee. The facilities, although kept clean, had a semi open roof which meant that all manner of insects including mosquitoes and moths and other assorted flies adorned the walls in the shower and toilet blocks. The "transparent" roof isn't transparent any more due to debris falling from the trees over the years so proper enclosed roofs would improve matters. A new block with additional showers wouldn't go amiss at the lower end of the site. Overall though a lovely location and pleasant hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed stay at the site, which extended to almost 6 weeks.
Jimmy and Brenda (and Tracey) were the best site managers you could wish for. Welcoming, helpful, friendly, willing to assist in any way we needed. We felt thoroughly at home. We wish Jimmy and Brenda every sucess next year at Gullivers, Milton Keynes.Sure it will be a great place to visit with the 2 of them in charge. they are a credit to the Club.
Although we live just a few miles from the site we chose the site to enable our daughter and family to try out caravanning for the first time. We all would like to say thank you to the marvellous stewards for being so friendly and helpful. Hope to see tham on another site next year.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
This site has currently got the best managers we have come across, Jim & Brenda, Very friendly, hardworking and willing to help at all times,(especially great for novices like us who managed to skid!!)the site was well kept and clean, the dog walk/woods were brilliant, loads to see and do in the area, give it a go.
would happily recommend this site to others.
Very friendly welcome by Jim and Brenda - who go above and beyond the call of duty - although we only stayed one night we were made to feel at home. Jim even brought a levelling block and spirit level to see that we had a comfortable night's sleep. Thankyou.
Thankyou Jim Brenda and Tracy for another lovely break. The site was kept clean and tidy just like our last visit. Jim was an expert at chocking up lol level in one lol. This was the second time we had visitd this site and yet again the staff were welcoming and friendly, they dont intrude on your privacy but are approachable if you need them. I would recomend the site and staff to anyone just a shame the site closes before my next break. Thankyou again.
DATE STAYED: August 2011
We stayed at the site for four nights and had heavy rain and showers. However we still enjoyed our time and found it to be an excellent base for touring and visiting the the many National Trust properties in the area, we would recommend a visitng to Battle to view the Battle of Hatings site (English Heritage). The site staff were excellent being very helpful and friendly. Our only request would be to update the shower blocks with more showers being required.
SUITABLE FOR: Families
Nice and helpful staff, they even helped me with a wifi conection, and details of local golf courses, lots of national trust properties near
This is my second visit to this site and as before I would highly recommend the site and its facilities. Due to its location the train journey into London is very fast. This provided very good for access to Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. It also proved useful in visiting a great many of the National Trust properties in the area. The staff are very friendly/helpful and the site is very well kept.

We would definatly recommend this site if you like to walk & have a dog. We were welcomed by Tracy who was very helpfull and a pleasure to deal with (a very funny lady !!!)The site was spotless & well maintained & there were ample blocks to level your unit & the staff were on hand to help you pitch. Tracy even took the trouble to ring us after we got home with a phone no of a company we enquired about.

We had originally booked this site for 7 days to visit family, prior to moving to another site nearer them. However after such a warm welcome and experiencing the cleanliness of the facilities and the friendliness of Jim, Brenda and Tracey, we decided to cancel our booking elsewhere and chose to extend our stay there for 28 days. We have enjoyed it so much that we have actually booked to return in 7 days after our stay in Normans Bay over the next week. This is probably one of the best sites we have stayed on and is due to the staff. The surrounding area has too many interesting places to list so don't miss a visit to this site.
Our only comment would be another shower for males and females would be advantageous.

Beautiful site close to London (train Sevenoaks. Well maintained, friendly and service oriented staff. Another shower would help in crowded periods.
Because of narrow road access use crossing of Styants Bottom Seal and A25 in SATNAV, there site is signed out.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples
Very friendly welcome with helpful staff. Excellent location for dog owners as located amidst acres of woodland. The site was clean and quiet. 45 minutes drive from Hastings and the beach. Would definately visit Oldbury Hill again
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
We booked on here at the last minute, heading back to London to see family, on the way back to Scotland. The staff were very friendly and helpful but not in an intrusive way. The facilities were excellent and very clean. Although near the M25, it was peaceful and surrounded by woodland. We would have stayed longer if time had permitted. There were obviously plenty of very interesting places to visit. We have noted it as a convenient 'resting' place when visiting London family! Just one word of caution - much of the site is sloping, but there are some level pitches.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Younger couples
I am writing this review whilst still here at Oldbury Hill. We have been looking for a "bolt hole" for a while, somewhere within a 30-60 min drive from home and I think we have found it!
The site is idyllic,a (sloping) field surrounded by forest. Very quiet. The play area is adequate for our 2yr old...2 swings (1 baby/1 child) and a climbing frame leading upto a slide.from the top of the site you can see the whole site and your children!
The toilet block is cold but clean and the showers are hot. At first I thought that the facilities would be too busy, but on our stay there was rarely anybody else using the facilities at the same time as myself.
The wardens are fantastic, helpful and friendly. I made a (major) mistake when booking and didn't book for electric hook up...the website then showed that the electric pitches were taken. PANIC...but a quick call to the site, and a pitch was found for us.
After a previous experience I had all but given up on the CACC but this site has restored my faith and therefore I will renew my membership!!!
A beautiful site set amongst a forest and very peaceful despite the M25 not being too far away. We were greeted with a very friendly welcome on arrival. Once directed to our pitch, we were left alone to enjoy our stay although we knew the Club staff were available to help, should we need it. The site is quite sloping which makes for an interesting night's sleep on an inflatable mattress! The facilities were spotless. Our only very small negative comment would be that the showers and toilets were rather cold as they are not completely sealed or heated. That said, the showers themselves were very warm and the facilities were spotless. The proximity of the nearby forest is lovely for a walk. All in all, I site we would highly recommend.
Great welcome , very friendly crew , went out of their way to find the spot that I would like .(Had a choice of areas ) Even placed themselves out to make sure that we were comfortable with the pitch . As only had a tent , they placed me , and the wife, very close to the facilities block .Highly reccomended . Would even bring my grand children here ,great site.
We are a family of 5 with 3 children under 7 years old. We were given a pitch at the top of the campsite near the swings and toilet/shower block which was perfect.
The toilets/washing area/showers were very clean with plenty of piping hot water at all times of the day.
The site is a perfect size for families as you can see across the whole campsite. Our 3 kids wandered around the site all day long with groups of other children. It was an enclosed clearing in the middle of a wood and was very safe.
The site was very quiet, by 10pm most people were tucked up in bed. We sat watching bats in the evening! The only noise to wake you is the very loud dawn chorus of birdsong!
A very relaxing and calm week long holiday.
We have just returned home from a 3 night visit to this lovely site.
It is incredibly peaceful (except for the amazing dawn chorus) and surrounded by beautiful ancient woodland (National Trust owned) which our two dogs made the most of, they really were in their element. It has a basic but adequate children's play area which suited our two girls (aged 3 and 11).
The site itself is wonderfully well kept and we have never been so well looked after by site staff. They came out to help level our van armed with chocks and a spirit level and had us level on what is a fairly sloping site within 5 minutes.
The site itself is great but the wardens made our stay fantastic (despite our dogs barking at theirs) even arriving with an emergency bottle of wine and beer after our late and somewhat stressed arrival. (Thank you Tracey).
The facilities are spotlessly clean and more than adequate with two showers for the ladies and one for the gents. Although ensure you are early for your morning shower as the hot water runs out really quickly.
There is a good pub (Crown Point) a leisurely 15 minute walk away and they do a good, reasonably priced Sunday carvery. It is child friendly and dogs are allowed in the lounge area.
We look forward to our next visit.
This was a good holiday.
It should have more showers and more swings for children.
Weve stayed here for the last 4 years and the staff are always very welcoming and accommodating. Ideal if you wanted to visit igtham mote or Knowle park, both amazingly beautiful national trust sites. Highly recommended.
Managers very frendly and helpful. Pitches not level but manager assisted in every way possible.
Will certainly call again

Jim and Brenda (the new managers) made us most welcome. The site is lovely and the facilities kept immaculately clean. We were so impressed that we immediately booked for the Spring break in May. Highly recommend this site, beautiful countryside and lovely walks with or without dogs. My children (15 & 18) really enjoyed the stay. Jim and Brenda could not have done more for us, so helpful...10/10!
the lady and man in charge were friendly and kind. They gave us a lovely pitch near the park. I am 7 and this was my first time camping. I liked exploring the woods. I liked the ice creams in the little shop and I can't wait to go back again. I think everyone would like this site.
Very clean site
Wardens very cheerfull and helpfull and quite obviously enjoy their job
Site although old was very well kept
We only spent a couple of nights here as a quick break from hectic London. We really loved this site and will definitely return. The owners gave us a very warm welcome (even though we are a couple on two motorcycles!) The site is surrounded by trees and is uncluttered and spacious and the most memorable thing was the peace and quiet and the birdsong in the mornings which was quite magical (although very close to the M26 there was NO sound of traffic whatsoever!) The washrooms were clean and tidy and more than adequate (and tucked away from campers so no noisy washer-uppers for other campers as is the case on many other sites!) The on-site shop provided anything you wanted in a hurry. We give this site 5 out of 5.
DATE STAYED: May 2010
Site is on a steep slope with flat areas at the bottom. Caravans and Motorhomes are leveled up by blocks but if you are camping you need to make sure you are on a flat section or you will fall out of bed.
