Everything about this campsite was a delight. Incredible location right on the loch shore. What a refreshing change that the site managers were encouraging wildlife and a true natural setting. Talking to the manager, we found that he took the trouble to get advisors in from RSPB to encourage bird nesting. Site was a lovely mix of woodland setting with bluebells, and sites woven into it. Such a nice change from the over-manicured lawns and gardens of some other sites. Here there were lovely grassy areas throughout with rabbits. Good sized pitches.

2 night stay at the end of a tour, our pitch was prebooked. Very efficient at booking in, we were on the pitch within 10 minutes of arrival, following the warden down on his bike. Beautiful view of the Loch with access to a small beach just in front of us. Trees dissipated the road noise and the wind chased the midges, which did bite! Excellent power showers and very clean facilities. The site is very peaceful, great for activities on the water and a great location for a stopover on the way north or south.

Stayed at this site for just over a week in May and we were well impressed. The site is right next to Loch Lomond and the scenery is breathtaking. It's a short walk to Luss which is a lovely place.
The site is well maintained and kept immaculately clean. Kath & Dave, who run the site, are very friendly and always ready to offer advice as to where we could visit. They helped make our stay there a very enjoyable one. Cannot recommend this site highly enough. Thanks Kath & Dave. We will definitely be back

The views from this site were second to none, across Loch Lomond with the waves gently lapping against the shore. The wind can come from many directions but the trees on site help dispense them. Being near the water, there is a danger of midges in season, but any wind displaces them. The courting ducks were a source of amusement. I would not recomend the site to anyone wanting a lively nightlife in the village though. Nice and quiet and an interesting circular walk around Luss.

This is a lovely site next to Loch Lomond and it is very easy to get there. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding a suitable pitch. When we arrived the site was very wet after many days of rain and with their help we were able to find a pitch that suited our needs. We had a super week touring the area and thankfully the site had dried out by the time we left. The only downside is that it is next to a main road which meant that there was road noise during the day, although this reduced at night.

Great site with wonderful situation next to Loch Lomond and the conservation village of Luss with cafes, restaurants, pub and gift shop. Me and two of my friends came here during the summer last year! We had a great time, the staff were very polite and catered for all of our needs. The day we were leaving they gave us cups of tea to heat us up as it was a chilly day while we took down our tent. Overall a very good campsite. Going again this summer.

I enjoyed my stay at the site, I was with my grandsons and they loved exploring, especially playing on the pebble beach. The downside was that I was unable to empty the grey waste tank as the trees overhanging the disposal point were scraping on the top of the motor home. I have a hose but still couldn't get close enough so I had to leave with waste water tank full and find another means of disposal. I discussed this with the warden as I left who advised they were not allowed to cut back the trees. If that is the case another solution must be found.

Site in a nice location but I think photos are slightly misleading as it looks a bit more unkempt in real life! However as a stop-off on our way further north it did the job fine. The warden who guided us to our pitch was nice and helpful, but the first impression was spoiled by a rather unhelpful and unwelcoming lady. The traffic was quite noisy which didn't bother us but may put some people off. The facilities were dated but clean and more than adequate.

Easy access to the site, which is hidden along the road past the hotels - but clear directions are given.
Fantastic location but unfortunately this can contribute to the ground getting a bit soft in wet weather.
I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities and even more so by the fact that both blocks were left fully open despite the relatively few units on site. (Other site managers could take a lead from this).
There can at times be quite a bit of noise from the main road - A82 - which runs parallel and very close to the site in places. This might pose problems for tent campers.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.

great choice as we have been there before. Very friendly team with Kathy and Dave in charge (sorry to hear about Brian). Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, no matter how busy they are they always make you feel welcome and that they have all the time in the world for you.
Great scenery, with open views of the loch and great shrubbery for the wildlife of which there is plenty to live in and to complement the country feel to the place. Power showers are brill.

Firstly we have to mentioned Kenny (the Manager) who gave us the most wonderful, friendly and amusing welcome. We sadly could only stay one night as we were heading home. But it is the most beautifully positioned site, next to the Loch, with the gorgeous village of Luss close by. Lovely even in the rain! Facilities were good, with the lovely touch of fresh flowers in the ladies showers. Hope we go back one day.

The site was not at all how I imagined it to be from the pictures on the Web. Views of loch obscured by undergrowth which also made pitch a little dark and depressing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and pointed out all the facilities on arrival. Toilets and showers clean but inadequate for number of pitches on site. Easy walking distance into lovely village of Luss. My first experience of CCC site after being a member for a couple of years, and if this is supposed to be one of the jewels in their crown I am seriously thinking about cancelling my membership.

Just back from Luss after spending 9 days at this great site. Wardens went beyond the call of duty to help when I had problems with my battery. We were given a great spot by the loch on hard standing with lots of room for full awning and great views we felt we had our own private beach to sit with a glass of wine and dangle our tired feet in the loch after a great hike up the Cobbler. Toilets were spotless and handy with added bonus of fresh cut flowers. The whole site was kept well considering the amount of rain that has been falling. Once again I want to thank all the wardens for being cheery friendly and helpful and look forward to returning next year.

Most people love to complain in private, or whinge as our Commonwealth brothers say. But from arriving in pouring rain, to put up 2 tents for 4 following BMX cyclists, they advised us the ground, metres from the "Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond", was soggy to say the least. 1 out of 6 of us had damp sleeping bag in the morning, but after a 12 hour/70 mile ride in the rain, and 45 mile through Glasgow, the next day. Not one moan about the site, everything else, Yes. Thanks guys & girls.

Our first visit to a Camping and Caravan Club Site and our three week stay was a very enjoyable experience. The site is in a beautiful and peaceful location with superb views over Loch Lomond. A very friendly welcome on arrival and help to find an excellent hard standing pitch overlooking the loch. Facilities were fine and kept very clean and tidy. The site as a whole was very well kept. Only criticism is that there is only one chemical toilet emptying point which is a bit of a trek if you are at the far end of the sites as we were. Special thanks to Brian, Marion, Dave, Kath & Kenny for your friendliness and helpfulness, which made our stay such a pleasure.

Just returned from 3 lovely days at this site. Very friendly staff gave us free biscuits for our dogs on arrival and the best pitch on the site - in a secluded spot next to the Loch. We booked on for 3 nights and stayed only 1 night. The campsite is scruffy. The grass pitches aren't marked out . The gentleman that showed us a few places where we could put the caravan was the Area Manager . A couple of the pitches he pointed out were that muddy we wouldn't have been able to get the caravan on. In the end we pitched on a corner with the site road only inches from the back of the caravan. We know it's rained quite alot but is that an excuse not to keep the grass trimmed. It would be an idea to change the photographs of the site on the website as the site looks nothing like them.To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

June & Gordon L (Club member) reviewed Luss Club Campsite...
We stayed 2 nights at Luss in early June. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lochside pitch and had nice views across the loch; the whole site seemed to be quite level and well kept. Our pitch looked as if it had been used quite a lot, there was a patch in the middle with very sparse grass, where tents etc have been sited. We were not troubled by any traffic noise, although we were probably about 70 to 100 yards from the roadside edge of the site. Our EHU cable is about 15m long and was not long enough to reach the service pillar - the staff offered us the loan of an extension cable, which solved the problem. Site was almost full when we stayed (half term holiday and we were there over the diamond jubilee weekend) and there seemed to be a higher proportion of tents on the site compared to other club sites we have stayed on - tent campers rely on "the facilities" mote than people in wheeled units; we felt that there were not enough toilets/showers to cope with the numbers. I would expect that at other times the faculties ate more than adequate.
Luss is very close and well worth a visit. We took a very nice boat trip to the village of Balmaha, where there are some nice walks and a nice (and very busy) pub. The scenery is fantastic. There were a lot of biting midges around, and despite using DEET and Avon's skin so soft we got quite a lot of bites.
The site is in a great spot and the friendliness and cleanliness are both really good. So in spite of the midges we will be sure to be returning to Luss in the future

Site: it is between Loch Lomond and the A82. I was there just after a torrential rain storm which had taken out their WIFI and it was very wet and muddy. There is a mixture of hardstandings and grass pitches. There are a lot of trees and most of the pitches are in/close to trees. All the views of the loch are through trees. The ground was extremely muddy and wasn't helped by people driving over the grass along the edges of the roads. Even some of the hardstands had several inches of water on them. None of the pitches are very far from the road and the road is noisy. However if you do manage to get a pitch by the loch the views are stunning. It is only a short walk into Luss, which is a charming village, with shops, cafe's and boat trips.
Wardens: were outstanding, couldn't have been more helpful if they had tried. The site has a manual barrier and being on my own, if they saw me they would always nip out and open it. Always pleasant, and despite the mud kept everything very clean.
Washrooms: 2 blocks, cleaned at different times. I was a bit dubious, as I was closest to the furthest one from reception, and it looked a bit tired from the outside, inside immaculate, even flowers in each of the wash cubicles. 3 toilets, 3 cubicles and 2 showers. Showers adequate size, fixed head, but swivels, push button operation, but they are power showers, excellent, might be a bit powerful for little ones.
Please could there be a hand washing sink outside of the cubicles.
Dog Walk:Good dog walk on site, over a little bridge and through trees, also along the lochside and a nice walk into Luss. There is also a leaflet detailing walks around Luss, which are excellent for 4 paws.

We were met by friendly polite warden who showed us two pitches to chose from both surrounded by trees. Showers, toilets, laundry were always very clean and the site was fairly busy. We were disappointed that views of the Loch were obscured by trees and even if we'd been on a Lochside pitch the water could only be glimpsed through the branches. We were quite close to the road which was quite busy and heavy traffic passes regularly. Traffic noise doesn't bother us much but in no sense could this part of the site be termed 'peaceful'. Back to those trees - it was a wet few days but even when it wasn't raining the trees dripped and we were soaked just unloading the car and we needed the lights on all day. I understand tere are many people who prefer a tree shaded site but we like to see what's around us and because of that it is unlikely we would visit again.

Fantastic site!!! Staff brilliant in all weathers. We had plenty rain and some sunshine, but the staff were always fun and very friendly. It was so good to be with them. The "Little Critturs" were biting well but we just had so much fun. The facilities were brilliant and so clean. Just do not know how they did it with so much mud about. Never saw a grumpy face all week. A fantastic site brilliant staff ans a great area to stay. We will definitely go back. Thanks

Have just returned from this site and it is an absolute gem of a site. Warm welcome tho did not get a site leaflet on arrival and the pitch we were shown to was pretty waterlogged but with no problem we were moved to another. Facilities all close by and toilets and showers were spotless, tho do need a bit of updating, however we have visited a few Camping and Caravaning sites and they are mostly all the same. The weather was a bit mixed but we were looking onto Loch Lomond and were able to walk along the shingle beside the loch and it was just beautiful. A brilliant site for any age the nothing for the children but we will certainly be returning again and again.

The potential of this site is enormous: on the banks of Loch Lomond just by a heritage village and, weather permitting, an ideal spot for a break before going further North/West or just 'Chilling'. It is a terrible shame that it is let down by the outdated and very limited facilities and, more importantly by the attitude of the Wardens.
On arrival, one member of staff took the balance of the fee, checked the membership cards and said,"He'll show you the pitch." I said that we needed water (although it was raining!) and he said, "I'll take you to the pitch and show you the water supply". He guided us to the pitch on his bike and stated, "This is the pitch, the water tap is over there but don't be tempted to back up on the grass as we will never get you out". He pointed and then left. We drove to the nearest point to the tap to discover that our 25 meter hose was way too short. Fortunately, a kindly fellow camper braved the rain and lent his hose and connectors. Once sited, we took our usual familiarisation stroll back towards reception to find 2 more water points, far more accessible, but obviously this would have meant stopping on route to the pitch and he wasn't keen. At reception no-one was around the empty office so we helped ourselves to the Site Leaflet that had not been offered on arrival.
In mitigation, the weather was terrible and they had had to close all the grass pitches. This gave them problems but customer service is crucial to the organisation and I know this is unusual but it needs sorting.

This was our first experience of a Camping and Caravanning Club site. I have to say that we were quite impressed overall by the site. We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. We were left to it, but were also aware that the wardens were there if we had any issues.
The ablutions bloc is quite small, but neither of us had to queue and I seldom saw anybody else in there.
There isn’t a shop but there is a store in the local village which more than compensates.
The views were stunning and there was plenty to do with both local walks and a ferry to other parts of the area.
We would definitely revisit.

This was stop 4 of our 7 site road trip. It was also my wife's birthday. She wanted to stay here as we had visited the village of Luss before and loved it.
On the Clubs website and in the 2011 site book stated that this is one of the most beautiful sites in the network. I am sorry to say but this was the worst out of all 7 and ruined my wife’s birthday. We almost left before hooking up. The site felt tired and in desperate need of a makeover. The male shower block was also dated and dirty with only one shower working properly. You rarely see the site staff and they are saving the site environmental footprint, By putting people at one end of the site and the bins at the other, this may save their feet but people just drove to the bins. Only 1 Chemical waste which again near to main gate.
So the site being one of the most beautiful is a bit out dated. I think they mean the view!

We were greeted at Luss with a to the point explanation of the facilities, shown our pitch and left to it. The location for this site is spot on, pitched at the side of Loch Lomond with fantastic views it is a good base for walks and touring alike, yes there is road noise but anyone with a map can see the main road adjacent to the site. The two blocks consisted of one urinal, three basins, two toilets and two showers three washing up stations one chemical emptying area and a parent and toddler room, Everything was clean unless the previous user failed to clean up after themselves, which seemed quite regular here the week we stayed. The grounds could do with some serious drainage upgrade some of the tents were in water for most of their stay. it's wonderful to have the rabbits, ducks and swans wandering around the site, however the swans could be a pain at times as they meandered around menacing for food?
Luss is a charming little village and within easy walking distance from the site where a host of supplies and places to eat are available.

Beautiful location with easy access to the Loch. Site can get waterlogged after heavy or prolonged rain. We have camped here for years and this year the site is looking very tidy -a real credit to the Managers and staff. Pity welcome was less friendly as certain site staff seemed rather dry/dour. (a smile costs nothing) Road noise can be heard from main road but compensated for by views to die for from almost every pitch on the site. Site now following Clubs green philosophy where, rather than site staff emptying bins from designated areas in a small economical tractor, we noted a steady procession of large vehicles with campers ferrying their own rubbish to bins at site entrance during the rather wet days of our stay! Such is progress! Final note - powered craft, even a small inflatable with a small outboard motor are forbidden to launch from this site to apparently comply with terms of site lease so leave any engine at home or launch from another part of loch shore .

Views from site, over Loch Lomond, are beautiful. Good basis for visits to e.g. Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow. Site is however very basic (e.g. no shop or wifi). Midges require ampel amounts of repellant to fend off. Toilet/shower facilities are basic with limited no. of units not able to cope with morning rush-hour. With cleaning time at 10.30, units are always somewhat grubby in early morning and evening. Traffic noise from busy A82 is very disturbing and an outright put-off. Grounds have hard time coping with heavy rain, resulting in occasional water-soaked and muddy pitches. Staff seem focussed on accomodating arrivals (after 12.00 only), with little attention for those leaving. In all, good for a short stay only, will not return.

this was our first experience of a caravan and camping club site. We are experienced caravanners and we know the area well and were really looking forward to what should have been a first class site. We were however quite disappointed. The grassy pitch was water logged with ruts on the grassy approach making driving slightly difficult. The toilet facilities are sparse with only 2 showers per block - only 2 blocks that we could see on the entire site. In the ladies toilets, there are no separate sinks to wash hands after going to the toilet only those in the vanity units which, if occupied, means there are effectively no handwashing facilities paired with toilets. We received no map on arrival so we took sometime to discover where bins, water and chemical facilities were located. The rubbish bins are actually outwith the campsite grounds at the main gate and therefore quite a trek for those furthest away. We noticed that many of the campers just left their rubbish at the toilet block...presumably couldn't be bothered to trek to the other end of the site!!!The water facilities were sparse with only two points for the entire campsite. The reception area was unmanned at times one would expect service to be available. Several vans were queued up on the morning of our departure whilst the staff appeared to be fully engaged elsewhere, cleaning etc. Some campers in the tent field were up til 4am partying which could be heard all over the camp and there appeared to be no discipline enforced. This is a fantastic location and for visitors to Scotland this is a major tourist attraction. The campsite lets itself down. It has every potential to be a first class site with stunning views. In our opinion, some work is needed to improve the standard of this site.

The site had heaps of potential to be a GREAT site however, we had our tent pitched at the far end of the site where it narrows between the lake and road. It felt as if we were pitched right on the roadside of a highway with traffic whizzing past till about 2am. Bring earplugs! The owners were not the friendliest either. I felt this site was extremely expensive for what it offered - £25 for 2 adults and a tent. I would only recommend this site (at these prices) if a pitch at the Luss end of the site could be secured.

Thye views of this park are what makes it worth while. Pitching a tent on the banks of Loch Lomond and waking up to that site in the morning is just breath taking. the site doesnt have much for children, the swing park has a chute and 2 swings and that is all. The only other place we found to play was the beach. Even after these comments it was well worth the cost. Some staff members where quite dry when communing but others made up for that by being very helpfull and polite. Hope to visit many more times.xx

My 2nd trip to Luss this year having been in here the past 2 years. Beautiful site you cannot fault the scenery however I have noticed big changes to the site. There has been a change of wardens this season and to be honest not as welcoming or as friendly as they previous folks. No bins at the water points now, so if you are in the tent field at the far end of the site you are having to bring up your bags of rubbish to dump outside of the main gates, saw people just leaving bags outside to which the seagulls and ducks were helping themselves. Only saw the 1 warden cycling up and down showing people to their pitches - where were the others? Asked for some help to get van on pitch but was as if it was an inconvenience. Lovely site as I say but will not be back, just not what it used to be.

We'll get the minor 'bad' points out the way 1st. Site could do with maybe another shower block or at least a few more considering how many can stay there. Also maybe a shop. The second thing is, if coming during peak season bring LOTS of midgie repellent or check the Scottish midge forecast at least. Now those are the only 'bad' points (and to be honest you can't control nature). The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the greeting put a smile straight on your face. The campsite and setting is just gorgeous, the loch and the scenery are breathtaking, and it's only a 5 minute walk (if that) from the lovely village of Luss. It is quiet (I never noticed the traffic noise from the the main road) and the location is central to quite a few places of interest. We stayed here for the weekend and we would certainly go back again.

The site is glorious, with wonderful views across the Loch, and the welcome from the staff very friendly.
Come prepared for midges though!! The site is an easy 5 minute walk from Luss village. Only downside to the site - not enough facilities for women - only two showers in each of the two toilet blocks.
The campsite shop could do with a wider range of stock, especially for those arriving late in the day. Play area is designed only for young children. What would enhance the site would be a small coffee shop/snack shop for those who don't always want to be tied to cooking!! Also maybe a games room/area for older kids.
