Having thrown over £100 at the CCC for a 3 night stay over the bank hols I must say that I saw very little of the "Friendly" but lots of the "Club". Non-Members in tents are the lowest in the food chain. Perhaps the "Club" could act on some of the reviews and brighten this site (and staff) up.

We were met by friendly polite warden who showed us two pitches to chose from both surrounded by trees. Showers, toilets, laundry were always very clean and the site was fairly busy. We were disappointed that views of the Loch were obscured by trees and even if we'd been on a Lochside pitch the water could only be glimpsed through the branches. We were quite close to the road which was quite busy and heavy traffic passes regularly. Traffic noise doesn't bother us much but in no sense could this part of the site be termed 'peaceful'. Back to those trees - it was a wet few days but even when it wasn't raining the trees dripped and we were soaked just unloading the car and we needed the lights on all day. I understand tere are many people who prefer a tree shaded site but we like to see what's around us and because of that it is unlikely we would visit again.

Fantastic site!!! Staff brilliant in all weathers. We had plenty rain and some sunshine, but the staff were always fun and very friendly. It was so good to be with them. The "Little Critturs" were biting well but we just had so much fun. The facilities were brilliant and so clean. Just do not know how they did it with so much mud about. Never saw a grumpy face all week. A fantastic site brilliant staff ans a great area to stay. We will definitely go back. Thanks

Have just returned from this site and it is an absolute gem of a site. Warm welcome tho did not get a site leaflet on arrival and the pitch we were shown to was pretty waterlogged but with no problem we were moved to another. Facilities all close by and toilets and showers were spotless, tho do need a bit of updating, however we have visited a few Camping and Caravaning sites and they are mostly all the same. The weather was a bit mixed but we were looking onto Loch Lomond and were able to walk along the shingle beside the loch and it was just beautiful. A brilliant site for any age the nothing for the children but we will certainly be returning again and again.

The potential of this site is enormous: on the banks of Loch Lomond just by a heritage village and, weather permitting, an ideal spot for a break before going further North/West or just 'Chilling'. It is a terrible shame that it is let down by the outdated and very limited facilities and, more importantly by the attitude of the Wardens.
On arrival, one member of staff took the balance of the fee, checked the membership cards and said,"He'll show you the pitch." I said that we needed water (although it was raining!) and he said, "I'll take you to the pitch and show you the water supply". He guided us to the pitch on his bike and stated, "This is the pitch, the water tap is over there but don't be tempted to back up on the grass as we will never get you out". He pointed and then left. We drove to the nearest point to the tap to discover that our 25 meter hose was way too short. Fortunately, a kindly fellow camper braved the rain and lent his hose and connectors. Once sited, we took our usual familiarisation stroll back towards reception to find 2 more water points, far more accessible, but obviously this would have meant stopping on route to the pitch and he wasn't keen. At reception no-one was around the empty office so we helped ourselves to the Site Leaflet that had not been offered on arrival.
In mitigation, the weather was terrible and they had had to close all the grass pitches. This gave them problems but customer service is crucial to the organisation and I know this is unusual but it needs sorting.

This was our first experience of a Camping and Caravanning Club site. I have to say that we were quite impressed overall by the site. We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. We were left to it, but were also aware that the wardens were there if we had any issues.
The ablutions bloc is quite small, but neither of us had to queue and I seldom saw anybody else in there.
There isn’t a shop but there is a store in the local village which more than compensates.
The views were stunning and there was plenty to do with both local walks and a ferry to other parts of the area.
We would definitely revisit.

This was stop 4 of our 7 site road trip. It was also my wife's birthday. She wanted to stay here as we had visited the village of Luss before and loved it.
On the Clubs website and in the 2011 site book stated that this is one of the most beautiful sites in the network. I am sorry to say but this was the worst out of all 7 and ruined my wife’s birthday. We almost left before hooking up. The site felt tired and in desperate need of a makeover. The male shower block was also dated and dirty with only one shower working properly. You rarely see the site staff and they are saving the site environmental footprint, By putting people at one end of the site and the bins at the other, this may save their feet but people just drove to the bins. Only 1 Chemical waste which again near to main gate.
So the site being one of the most beautiful is a bit out dated. I think they mean the view!

We were greeted at Luss with a to the point explanation of the facilities, shown our pitch and left to it. The location for this site is spot on, pitched at the side of Loch Lomond with fantastic views it is a good base for walks and touring alike, yes there is road noise but anyone with a map can see the main road adjacent to the site. The two blocks consisted of one urinal, three basins, two toilets and two showers three washing up stations one chemical emptying area and a parent and toddler room, Everything was clean unless the previous user failed to clean up after themselves, which seemed quite regular here the week we stayed. The grounds could do with some serious drainage upgrade some of the tents were in water for most of their stay. it's wonderful to have the rabbits, ducks and swans wandering around the site, however the swans could be a pain at times as they meandered around menacing for food?
Luss is a charming little village and within easy walking distance from the site where a host of supplies and places to eat are available.

Beautiful location with easy access to the Loch. Site can get waterlogged after heavy or prolonged rain. We have camped here for years and this year the site is looking very tidy -a real credit to the Managers and staff. Pity welcome was less friendly as certain site staff seemed rather dry/dour. (a smile costs nothing) Road noise can be heard from main road but compensated for by views to die for from almost every pitch on the site. Site now following Clubs green philosophy where, rather than site staff emptying bins from designated areas in a small economical tractor, we noted a steady procession of large vehicles with campers ferrying their own rubbish to bins at site entrance during the rather wet days of our stay! Such is progress! Final note - powered craft, even a small inflatable with a small outboard motor are forbidden to launch from this site to apparently comply with terms of site lease so leave any engine at home or launch from another part of loch shore .

Views from site, over Loch Lomond, are beautiful. Good basis for visits to e.g. Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow. Site is however very basic (e.g. no shop or wifi). Midges require ampel amounts of repellant to fend off. Toilet/shower facilities are basic with limited no. of units not able to cope with morning rush-hour. With cleaning time at 10.30, units are always somewhat grubby in early morning and evening. Traffic noise from busy A82 is very disturbing and an outright put-off. Grounds have hard time coping with heavy rain, resulting in occasional water-soaked and muddy pitches. Staff seem focussed on accomodating arrivals (after 12.00 only), with little attention for those leaving. In all, good for a short stay only, will not return.

this was our first experience of a caravan and camping club site. We are experienced caravanners and we know the area well and were really looking forward to what should have been a first class site. We were however quite disappointed. The grassy pitch was water logged with ruts on the grassy approach making driving slightly difficult. The toilet facilities are sparse with only 2 showers per block - only 2 blocks that we could see on the entire site. In the ladies toilets, there are no separate sinks to wash hands after going to the toilet only those in the vanity units which, if occupied, means there are effectively no handwashing facilities paired with toilets. We received no map on arrival so we took sometime to discover where bins, water and chemical facilities were located. The rubbish bins are actually outwith the campsite grounds at the main gate and therefore quite a trek for those furthest away. We noticed that many of the campers just left their rubbish at the toilet block...presumably couldn't be bothered to trek to the other end of the site!!!The water facilities were sparse with only two points for the entire campsite. The reception area was unmanned at times one would expect service to be available. Several vans were queued up on the morning of our departure whilst the staff appeared to be fully engaged elsewhere, cleaning etc. Some campers in the tent field were up til 4am partying which could be heard all over the camp and there appeared to be no discipline enforced. This is a fantastic location and for visitors to Scotland this is a major tourist attraction. The campsite lets itself down. It has every potential to be a first class site with stunning views. In our opinion, some work is needed to improve the standard of this site.

The site had heaps of potential to be a GREAT site however, we had our tent pitched at the far end of the site where it narrows between the lake and road. It felt as if we were pitched right on the roadside of a highway with traffic whizzing past till about 2am. Bring earplugs! The owners were not the friendliest either. I felt this site was extremely expensive for what it offered - £25 for 2 adults and a tent. I would only recommend this site (at these prices) if a pitch at the Luss end of the site could be secured.

Thye views of this park are what makes it worth while. Pitching a tent on the banks of Loch Lomond and waking up to that site in the morning is just breath taking. the site doesnt have much for children, the swing park has a chute and 2 swings and that is all. The only other place we found to play was the beach. Even after these comments it was well worth the cost. Some staff members where quite dry when communing but others made up for that by being very helpfull and polite. Hope to visit many more times.xx

My 2nd trip to Luss this year having been in here the past 2 years. Beautiful site you cannot fault the scenery however I have noticed big changes to the site. There has been a change of wardens this season and to be honest not as welcoming or as friendly as they previous folks. No bins at the water points now, so if you are in the tent field at the far end of the site you are having to bring up your bags of rubbish to dump outside of the main gates, saw people just leaving bags outside to which the seagulls and ducks were helping themselves. Only saw the 1 warden cycling up and down showing people to their pitches - where were the others? Asked for some help to get van on pitch but was as if it was an inconvenience. Lovely site as I say but will not be back, just not what it used to be.

A lovely site by a stunning location with views to die for.
A lot of midges so take plenty of repellant. There is road noise from the main A82 running across back of site. Only issue we had was a groupf of youths camping and making a lot of noise with loud music etc but they were only there 1 night.

We'll get the minor 'bad' points out the way 1st. Site could do with maybe another shower block or at least a few more considering how many can stay there. Also maybe a shop. The second thing is, if coming during peak season bring LOTS of midgie repellent or check the Scottish midge forecast at least. Now those are the only 'bad' points (and to be honest you can't control nature). The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the greeting put a smile straight on your face. The campsite and setting is just gorgeous, the loch and the scenery are breathtaking, and it's only a 5 minute walk (if that) from the lovely village of Luss. It is quiet (I never noticed the traffic noise from the the main road) and the location is central to quite a few places of interest. We stayed here for the weekend and we would certainly go back again.

The site is glorious, with wonderful views across the Loch, and the welcome from the staff very friendly.
Come prepared for midges though!! The site is an easy 5 minute walk from Luss village. Only downside to the site - not enough facilities for women - only two showers in each of the two toilet blocks.
The campsite shop could do with a wider range of stock, especially for those arriving late in the day. Play area is designed only for young children. What would enhance the site would be a small coffee shop/snack shop for those who don't always want to be tied to cooking!! Also maybe a games room/area for older kids.
