I would just repeat what other reviews have said about how friendly & clean the site is and that the location is stunning, but this site has everything you could ask for including drying lockers which as walkers we would have used had we not had excellant weather. We got to choose or own pitch as it was quite quiet but it wouldn't have matterered where we pitched as the views from all angles were outstanding. I know we will return again & again as this now is our new favourite.

We stayed here for one night and just wish it could have been for longer.
When we arrived at the site the wardens were on there day off however clear instructions had been left if anyone wanted to pitch up.
At the time of our arrival there was not one other pitch being used so we certainly could not complain of lack of pitch choice. As it turned out we were joined later by a couple of campervans.
The scenery was beautiful with the site surrounded by snow capped mountains. Worth the site fee on its own.
There are some lovely easy walks in and around the site and even a tearoom on the site doorstep.
Facilities were spotless with plenty hot water for showers, dishwashing etc.
We did notice some road noise from where we had chosen to pitch so maybe when we return we will pick a pitch further from the road.
Lovely area, lovely site and we will be back.

A lovely site. Some road noise from the A82 if you have a pitch on the right hand side past reception, but away from there it's very peaceful. The Campsite Managers are very friendly, helpful and very welcoming. They managed to sort out a billing problem for me very quickly.
The site is well looked after and on the hard standing pitches, we liked the idea of marking the boundary between pitches with a big raised bed planted with flowers.
The site is very close to the NTS Glencoe visitor centre, which has a cafe and waymarked gentle walks. There is a good quality footpath to Glencoe village.
We had an excellent and relaxing holiday. One note of advice for those wanting TV, we had a small satellite aerial and didn't manage to get a usable signal. I think that a larger dish is required due to the high latitude and terrain around the campsite.

This is our second visit to this peacefull and beautifully situated site with lovely woodland walks and breathtaking mountain scenery Mike and Sue could'nt do enough for you were very welcoming and remembered us from our last visit. Well laid out pitches with flower boxes between each pitch. The toilet and shower facilities were warm and clean and maintained to a exceptional high standard. Will certainly be back again next year for a little longer.

We stayed here with our dogs primarily for walking and touring. At the end of September the site was quite empty and we had a nice spot right next to the gate to the dog walk that was perfect for us. It was pretty much as far away from the toilets and showers as you could get but that wasn't an issue for us. The showers were hot, clean and quiet although I imagine they can get quite busy at peak times.
Views of Glencoe were amazing and the area in general didn't disappoint. We were even quite lucky with the weather.
Slight downside was that the noise from the road can be intrusive so if that bothers you then you may wish to think about selecting a pitch furthest away from the road.
The wardens were friendly and helpful and in all a perfect week away.

The showers were the best out of 22 CCC sites we`ve visited so far! Plenty of hooks and cubicles big enough to avoid the eternal problem of clinging curtains and wet floors! Friendly and helpful staff. Facilities were a long way from many pitches which was particularly noticeable in very wet weather.

Second time at this lovely site and it won't be our last! We love this site! The wardens are super friendly and helpful (one even came to pay a visit one evening as they wanted to see inside our T@b caravan...we are used to giving tours!) facilities always clean and modern. The surrounding areas are stunning and you are spoilt for gorgeous walks...which don't have to be challenging. For lots of great walks get the Pathfinder books. Lots of great places to eat which are also dog friendly. Fav site! See you next year :)

This was our first time at this site. We arrived on a very, very wet Monday after a very rainy weekend to discover that the GWE pitches were flooded. We need not have worried. Within 15 minutes both Mick and Sue had put their heads together and found us a wonderful little pitch that is normally for small motor homes. We could pitch between the hard standings. Mick came back later with a plan to make sure we could keep a bit of privacy if any motor homes came in. Both went above and beyond to make sure we were ok with our pitch. The site itself showed its real potential the next day when the sun came out. We were encircled by the most stunning scenery. We also had a site visit from a young deer, which was quite happy munching the grass at the top of our field. The showers and toilet block were always spotless too. There is plenty to do around the area and there is a lovely walk along a track into the village of Glencoe, where the views over the loch are amazing. The only major advice I would give anyone going here is to take super strengrth midge repellent. West Coast / Highland midges are something else.

Stayed at this site last year however the overall impression this time was and for reasons I cannot determine not quite as friendly and helpful as last time.
Would want to suggest that consideration be given for the installation of an additional grey water emptying/clean water filling area, chemical disposal area and possibly automating the barrier.

The site was fantastic, facilities were clean well maintained and very enjoyable. As mentioned on a previous review it was necessary to park and carry my equipment to my camping area, This wasn't an issue and I can see the reason for it. There was a small shelter with benches in it next to my tent, and these were ideal for cooking in, giving protection from the rain and taking us out of the tent.
The only issue was the weather, which was horrendous rain and made us aware that the waterproofing on our tent was non - existent.
Overall a gorgeous site and if it hadn't been for the weather I would have stayed for several days.

A lovely site in a stunning location, surrounded by mountains. The site managers and site assistants are friendly and helpful and the facilities are spotless. The large grounds are well kept with pretty flowering baskets and tubs around along with natural areas where wild flowers and grasses flourish.
A very peaceful location which has a variety of activities and attractions to suit all ages and abilities within easy reach of the site, from an easy stroll around the lochs, or the gentle gondala ride up at the Nevis Range to Mountain Biking or Ice wall climbing.
I've enjoyed my solitary and very peaceful 2 weeks here and will be back next summer with my family for a not so restful holiday but just as enjoyable in a different way.

The site is set in the most beautiful surroundings and the facilities are very clean, but unfortunately, in the sites book and also on the club web site, there is no mention that cars cannot park next to their tents on the grass. After an 8 hour drive, we were told this on arrival and the only pitch left for us was away from the road, about 100 metres away, now that may not sound far, but we have a fairly large tent and having to carry the tent and all our equipment for that distance wasn't fun!! Thankfully it wasn't raining, otherwise everything would have been soaked!! Also, there was no hot water in the washing up room.

beautifull setting very friendly staff and excelent facilities.
managed to climb Ben Nevis it was hard work but the view from the top was amazing we even had our picnic in the snow!
There is a footpath from the site to the loch in glencoe where we visited the glencoe hotel -freindly staff and good food but a bit pricey.
The clachaig Inn is well worth a visit they have over 160 whiskies to choose from and a large range of cask beer's which we were able to try befor you buy it is about 2 miles in the other direction unfortunatle no path for about a mile so had to walk along a busy road.

Site: All hardstandings set in several blocks with no divisions between pitches. One facilities block at end near entrance. Most pitches flat, but some have slight front/back slope. Open site with trees around the edge and wonderful views. Manual lift up barrier at entrance, which I was a bit wary of being on my own, but it was ok. Very easy to find off main road and follow signs to Glencoe visitor centre, which is next door and well worth a visit. I was a bit concerned as most reviews say how good it is for walkers, well I am only a stroller, and it was fantastic, so much to see and do, I should have stayed longer. WIFI available from the tourist info/Cafe in Ballachulish, free if you have a coffee or £1.50 for 30mins if you use their computer, nice food, friendly. There is a mobile fish and chip van that is in the carpark here a couple of nights a week, I cannot reccommend it, called the Frying Scotsman...he comes from Milton Keynes, not sure where the fish comes from...say no more. However if you cross the Ballachulish bridge and then turn right at the sign which I think says Fresh Fish and Restaurant, and drive about 5 miles along the far side of the Loch you come to the most amazing place, fantastic food where you can sit out and look over the water. They also have a shop.
Wardens: helpful and friendly.
Washroom: Plenty of showers etc. Showers were a good size with a drop down seat, fixed head which swiveled and push button operation. Always spotless, coded entry.
Dog Walk: Excellent, just off site through a gate at the far end of the site, straight into the forest, way marked paths around to visitor centre, or about 2 miles into the village. Passes the remains of a house in which a part of the massacre took place. Lovely tumbling stream surrounded with primroses in Spring and no midges.

Arrived at the site for a weekend break after driving through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The hard standing pitches were level and the one I picked had a view that is fun to wake up to. Wardens were very welcoming and ran a useful scheme where you could leave a note if you were out hill walking (for safety). Toilets were clean and the showers hot. Lots to see in the area with plenty of walking available or you could just sit back and relax and soak in the scenery. Will be back someday and thoroughly recommended.

Really lovely site, with spectacular views and great clean facilities.
We stopped to camp at this site on spec for 1 night, we were intending to go further North, but the spectacular Glencoe scenery convinced us to stop. We got a very friendly welcome, Sue even opened up a field for us to be nearer the facilities as we have 3 young children. The facilities are large and clean (only one block, but modern and in very good condition) and the showers are spacious, enough room to take a child in, put your stuff down on the seat and many hooks without the usual juggling, with plenty of hot water.
We took a nice walk into the village along the forest path in the evening and found the local hotel very welcoming too, for children and dog, and had very nice fish and chips in the bar. There are nice easy forest walks right on your doorstep, great for the younger ones, and you get entry into the national trust centre next door free of charge with the site receipt.

As it was the beginning of the season the site was quiet with only a few other campers. The wardens made us welcome and invited us to pitch anywhere we liked - which is always a much appreciated bonus for us!
Lovely views, even though the weather was not ideal and the cloud-base was low. We found a spot to park that suited us perfectly. I believe all motorhomes and caravans are allocated hardstanding, which was ideal.
It snowed hard on the hills overnight, but didn't settle at the campsite. Nonetheless, next morning looking all around was an impressive sight.
We enjoyed going to the National Trust for Scotland visitor centre next door, and because we are members of the NT (England & Wales) received free reciprocal admission to the exhibition.
We'd have no hesitation recommending the site to family and friends.

This is a very picturesque and relaxing site within Glencoe mountains. If you don't want to relax there is an approx 20+mile cycle ride around loch Leven. There is a high road (mountainous) for 7 miles to Kinlochleven and then a low road back to Glencoe by the loch path. Good roads. There are also plenty of walks from the site. In spite of the rain and mist which prevented us from seeing what we guess were great views, we had a lovely stay at this site. The facilities were the highest standard of any campsite we had visited in our 2 week tour. As everyone has stated, the views were amazing in this site. It was brilliant to wake up to those mountains every day, I would definitely go back again. The facilities were excellent on site, and the paths were extremely wheelchair friendly ( our son is in a wheelchair). It was also really quiet at night, despite being near a main road. You do hear the odd lorry, but not that many to be honest. Staff were great, the shop was well stocked. Honestly, we couldn't recommend it enough. Good points (for us).
On site team are fabulous. Very seldom do you get such willingness to help and offer advice. Happy to accept the late arrival, when adequate notice is given.
Site is clean, tidy, well presented and laid out.
Bad Points (for us).
The main road sits just below the site, similar set up to our Ardgartan site, so expect passing road noise from all types of road traffic.
Evening noise of chainsaws. Not good for anyone who watches 'horror movies'.
Site entrance isnt well marked. We travelled without the big site book, and saldy ended up passing the entrance. Asking the local cooperative store assistant where the site is? She replied, where the national trust campsite is. True to her word this is the entrance. So like we say, a camping and caravaning club site badge on the sign would have been helpfull. ( i understand from talking to the onsite team they arent allowed to do this for us, which really is a poor show on the national trust part)

When the sun shines, you are surrounded by spectacularly beautiful scenery and when it rains it is spectacularly dramatic. The proximity of the National Trust Visitor Centre is an added bonus and the village is only a short walk away. Keep up the good work.

Lovely peaceful site, site managers very very helpful and assisted without request placing of caravan, great to see. Nice and peaceful site and kept very tidy and clean. Handy for the National Trust Visitor Centre if you want a morning coffee, good for walking or cycling from site - we did both. We will be back again, have stayed previously both in caravan and tent and good to see standard still good.

Arrived late-ish on a very wet evening. The camping field was saturated and totally unsuitable for camping. The wardens were exceptionally helpful and allowed us to camp on the 'mound'. Full marks to them but we only had a small 2 person tent.
As this area is noted for high rainfall beware if taking a tent to this site. (Works have apparently already taken place to rectify the poor drainage.)

This was the first time that we had camped at Glencoe and it is a brilliant location especially if you are looking to do a bit of walking. The weather was also sensational with 10 days of sun. Who says it rains all the time in Glencoe! Also good for going onto Mull, Iona and the Islands. It is also down to the new managers and Mick and Su have done a great job in getting the site up to scratch and nothing is impossible for these guys. Very fiendly and helpful people who try to make your stay memorable. Also the facilities are first class with the showers exceptional. We will definately be back. There was a bit of noise from the lorries that were part of logging, but it was only early in the day. Might be good to check, however, to see if that is still going on.

We have just returned after easter weekend at this site.We did not have any problems with the site. The only complaint we have is due to timber harvesting of the ajoining ground. Heavy plant and vehicles were being moved thoughout the weekend and Giant timber trucks started around 5.30 am easter monday. It sounded like a train passing over the caravan.I think it would be reasonable to advise members of this situation before booking. This was our first site since joining the club and we would not have booked had we known the situation.I understand
this may be outwith the control of the club but reasonable steps could have been taken to avoid reviews such as this. Not a Happy Camper!

We are just about to head back and are sad that the previous caretakers have retired, they were so nice. It was our first outing in a caravan and it has not been beaten since. The place is a dream, peaceful, quiet and tranquil. The walks available straight from the site are a dog walkers dream. Take good walking shows and a camera.

We have stayed at Glencoe every year for 33 years, with Managers Bob & Sue, followed by Bill. We started in a 6 berth frame tent, with our 3 daughters, followed by a Combi-Camp trailer tent and finished up with our caravan. It's like our 2nd home. There is so much to see and do and the views are breathtaking. Give it a go.....you'll be amazed at the beauty of the surroundings and for good measure, have a steady climb up to the top of the 'Pap'.

This is a genuinely friendly and helpful site and I am sad to read the previous caretakers haveretired. The other staff have big boots to fill. It is a quiet site and you cannot access TV without satellite which adds to the amazing atmosphere of the mountain surrounding the site and all the wildlife we saw.We had a teenage daughter with us who even though it was misty fell in love with the place and with the village people. We had a fantastic day out with the Nationl Trust ranger who took us into the mountain and showed us deer, stags and plantlife, so much more interesting when it is explained to you by an expert. I would book in advance we were lucky to get cancellations. It was booked for weeks ahead.
