nice clean and tidy site with spotless facilities and a friendly welcome. Close to lake, supermarket, bus station and plenty of pubs (although you wouldn't know it as this site is so peaceful). local Rugby Club has a great menu including breakfast and is child friendly. Keswick also has a lovely little cinema.

A lovely clean and friendly site. We visited for the Jubilee weekend and the site was quite busy but well organised.
We prefer this to the Keswick site as it is quieter and it doesnt bother us that there isnt electric, only wish there was an outside washing up area for campers. A definate must if you want to be near the town centre or a good starting point for walking etc. but lovely to come back to knowing you can relax without lots of noise.

Tiolet/ Showers very clean as was the whole Campsite. .Very helpful owners.Only one moan really but not major, it could do with a hose pipe nr each pitch.Saying that the owners lent us theres. So we will be going back here again. Big thankyou to the Campsite owners.

Wardens did not seem very happy or helpful. This is a lovely site and always has been shame about the staff.

A brilliant site, much quieter than the neighbouring club site. Perfect for a quiet few days away in Keswick.

Used the site whilst backpacking the Cumbria Way.
The owners are extremely friendly & helpful.
The site is very clean and although only 2 minutes from the town you could be in the middle of the country with wild Ducks, Rabbits & Pheasant on the site.
No dishwashing facilities on the Oval campsite is the only fault this fabulous campsite has.
Luckily this didn't cause a problem as there is a great Indian Restaurant 5 minutes walk away.
Would definitely return if in the area.

What a lovely, peaceful site. Beautifully maintained and really clean.
Whilst it's only a small site compared to some and facilites are a bit limited we found it perfect, had a nice relaxing time. Was a little worried about toilet block being in a portacabin but was very pleasantly surprised at how clean and modern they were. Will definitely stay here again.

we regularly stayed on Walker Park 10 year ago with our trailer tent and we loved it then, two years later we sold the trailer tent and went back to a tent. In those days you could not pitch a tent on Walker Park but to our amazement we were camping at another site in Keswick this year and we went for a walk round the camping and caravan club sites and thats when we found out you could pitch tents on walker park. We booked to stay the week after and it is still a lovely little site with friendly , helpful wardens and lovely clean amenities. Its within easy reach of the town and we can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!

Welcome was not as good as previous sites - almost felt we were interupting!
Pitch was flat but facilities on site basic (portacabin) although they were clean.
Would only recommend to anyone wanting a basic site within easy access of Keswick.
Also note - club 'big sites book' advertises different prices for oval\the walker but we were charged for oval and sited on walker.

We spent our best Christmas ever at this site. It is in a very peaceful location, yet within easy walking access of the town and many walks so the break can be as active or as peaceful as you like.
The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful and the mulled wine on Christmas Eve was a lovely treat!
Yes, the showers/toilets are in a portababin, but extremely clean and the warmest we've experienced.
So good was the break that we've booked for Christmas and New Year 2012/13!

I have been coming to Walker Park for a number of years, sometimes with a female friend but always with my 2 dogs. The site is ideal if you want a quiet basic pitch, the toilets and shower block is clean, and Keswick is a short walk away.
As dogs are allowed on site it is inevitable that at some time they will take the opportunity to escape and have a sniff around, slip the lead, or leap out as soon as the door is opened. My only gripe is that when, on the occasions this has happened I know that within a few minute I will be approached by Staff Member telling me to keep the dogs on the lead. I know they are to be on leads but please be more compassionate and accept this will happen and allow for this. It is not done intentionally.
A Staff Member at another C&C club site commented that they accept this does happen and would only intervene if the dog/dogs were CAUSING PROBLEMS ON A REGULAR BASIS.
I am sure others have been in the same situation.

This is a lovely little site. The toilets are in a portacabin - but they are some of the cleaniest Ive come across - well done. The site is well placed to explore Keswick and the surrounding Lakeland area. The staff were lovely and the warden is an absolute expert at giving reversing instructions to drivers to help them get parked. We will definately visit again later in the year.

this site is an ideal location for keswick only a two minute walk to the town centre. Portaloos only for the toilet facilities but they are warm and scrupulously clean. no awnings allowed due to the ground on which the site is built and it would not do to puncture the surface(old waste disposal works or something).one of our favourite sites for all times of year.
