We are just back from a lovely 3 night Bank Holiday break. From the mmoment we arrived on site we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. Nothing was too much bother for them. The site looked immaculate, not a thing out of place, and the flowers blooming. The new barriers worked a treat and so much easier than in previous years. The hardstands are a great job. It was lovely to step out into the awning without worrying about mud seeping through the groundsheet.
The amenity block was very clean, warm and regularly inspected. Removal of the keypad entry system was welcome, as I could never remember the code. Another change this year was that the side gate into the park was locked. At first I thought it would be a nuiscance, but really made little difference to us as well as making the site more secure. There were the usual amenities for kids in the Country Park itself. Although my kids are getting older they still enjoy the adventure playground. There was Bank Holiday entertainment in the Park. Sometimes there are boat trips down Strangford Lough that leave from the shores of Delamont Country Park, but they do not run regularly every week.
We had a really lovely time, enjoyed the friendship from the team and will definitely be coming back.

We are just home from spending the weekend at delamont and can honestly say will definitly be back. Staff so friendly and helpful which made us feel comfortable. Site was immaculate and facilities spotless. We have 2 young kids and they had so much fun out playing and enjoying big walks and playing in park nearby the site. Would recommend this site to anybody.

We stayed here after being let down by another site. The wardens went out of their way to accomodate us and make us welcome. The site is immaculately kept, the toilet/shower block is warm and spotless. When the wardens heard we were going to the local cricket club for lunch on Sunday they kindly offered us a later check out which was very much appreciated. As this site is very local to us, we hope to visit a lot more this coming summer!

The Friendly Club have finally installed a Friendly Couple! so there has been a refreshing change of the guard for 2013. Get this the couple are friendly and relaxed!
We have stayed here on good number of occasions over the years. - Some of the other improvements are that the park has installed a number of hard gravel pitches, especially those that have been previously bad in our wet weather. They have also got rid of the 'where is the key lark' for the toilet block which was always a pain when there is a number staying in the same caravan, and they have closed up the side gate which stops the unwelcome BANG all day and deters those non residents. Although the Wifi only covers half the park and then it is still 'hit and miss. I hope that the extra help that they get over the busy times are as relaxed! -- So keep up the good work !!

This is a first class site. The new staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful.
The facilities are always clean.
The hard standing pithches are a good job - I expect they will make a big difference during wet weather.
Killyleagh is only 1 mile away - handy for groceries or if going for a meal ( Dufferin Arms provide excellent value).
We will be back again and again.

Having spent both the St. Patrick's Weekend and six nights at Easter at Delamont I was delighted to see that a number of improvements are ongoing at this time. Pitches are currently being converted from plastic matting and grass into fine stone / hard standing, something that everyone should welcome. An improved drainage channel along the back of the site should also prevent access rain water coming off the ajoining field unto the site. Further improvements included the updating of the Wi Fi link, but this needs to be reviewed as it only covered a precentage of the pitches. Finally it was nice to meet our new wardens, Betty and Hugh, and even nicer to know that we have a Northern Ireland connection which I feel will put everyone (wardens and campers alike) in a more relaxed atmosphere. The previous wardens did a great job, but as some members have already stated they did go a wee bit over the top at times when it came to rules and regulations. Looking forward to our next visit.

The state of this site when it rains is why I left the C&CC. I loved it when it first opened and was there on a regular basis and reccommended it to all my caravanning friends. After a few years, as the ground compacted down, I spent a few wet breaks there. The fun had gone out of it, always having to deal with water logged pitches and mud in the awning. I thought it wasn't worth the effort as there as other sites in NI. As the reason for my membership was this site, I decided to leave the club. I wish they would fix the pitches as I'm really wanting to go back, but not while its in the state it is. I keep a close eye on the site, to see if they have plans to improve it, but so far I have been disappointed. Please fix it!

My wife and i have been members for approx 12 years, Delamont is our local site. My gripe with this site is the water logged sites, when are they going to do something about this why not make them all hard stands? We recently went to Scotland to a site in Lauder, staff where so friendly, Keith and Carol . As we arrived he was out like a shot to open gate and welcome us, you wouldn't get that at Delamont. At this site you had a choice of hard stand or grass, hard stands hold caravan, awning and car and still have room, please do this with Killyleagh. The present site managers at Delamont could be doing with some training in friendliness and treat adults like adults, even after 2 years in N.I. they insist on handing out instuctions for site and told to read them. Notice board is covered in notices about what you can and can't do at site, use to be you could read informaton about local attractions. As they are now moving on hopefully we will get somebody with a bit of come and go. The site itself is very handy to local attractions, mini train rides and lovely walks around countryside and coastal areas, outdoor gym and local boat ride round Strangford Lough.

Lovely Site BUT (Club member) reviewed Delamont Country Park Club Campsite...
This site could be sooo much better if they had the drainage sorted out. It had been quite wet up to and during our stay and there didn't seem to be any drainage as it was literally a swamp and the whole weekend turned into a muck fest.I asked my brother to join the club and him and I were both so let down, in fact he said he wouldn't return. The facilities are very good at this site but something seriously needs to be done about the drainage.

Have stayed here twice this year both times it had rained, the first just before we arrived the second while we were there. This made the ground very wet lots of standing water, this site would really need hard stands as quick as possible, and better drainage. The pitches are being churned up by large motorhomes being manoeuvred on and off the pitches as there is no other place to put them,so proper hard stands would really bring this site up to scratch. The wardens I found were friendly and helpful but toilets closed for cleaning at 11.00 to 12.30 I find is a bit inconvenient. This has the potential to be a great site.

Great time as usual. Only niggle is the site staff. They obviously have a chip on thier shoulder. Pompas and ignorant. Waiting to use large machinery to trim hedges and cut grass at 9.30am. Could they really not use thier heads and do this mid week when the site is empty..
Apart from staff this is a good site.

We loved this site. It was so clean and tidy and the wardens made every effort to keep it that way. Being adjacent to the Country Park it was ideal for walking our cocker spaniel. A lady warden recently arrived from Keswick was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about local restaurants and places for coffee. I would like to express our thanks to her. Whilst there we needed to have our exhaust repaired - a potential problem in getting us safely back to Scotland. My husband had noticed a small roadside garage about 1 mile from the campsite -
Campbells Auto Repairs, 42 Downpatrick Rd Killyleagh. The service he got from there was outstanding - including a lift back to the caravan site whilst the car was repaired - all complete the day after he approached them.
My husband was surprised that there was no advertising card at the campsite. The garage owner said he never got business from the campsite. We would recommend this garage very strongly - saved us from a lot of worry. It is nice to have the security of a small garage in a rural area. We certainly look forward to a return visit to this campsite

Delamont has something for everyone. For four years now we have used this site throughout our season March to September. Considering the price of fuel I would suggest that those who live in the county down area should consider this loacation before you spend a fortune in fuel towing a van all the way to the north antrim coast. What you save in fuel can be spent on a meal out or a trip down to Newcastle (20 minutes.)

Very nice site in a country park with penty of safe walking and other outdoor activities to pursue. Also close to Killyleagh and Downpatrick. A very convient site clode to home (I can be there in 35 minutes from home). Site very clean and wardens very friendly and helpful as are other caravanners.
My (and many others who I have spoken to) my main criticism is of the site itself. Where the 'hardstands' are plastic membranes under the grass are fine in dry weather (as we had for our week's stay in July) but when there has been a lot of wet weather as we have had Surely for the only club site in Ireland Delamont should be prioritised for a similar urgent upgrade. This woud for me result in more frequent stays on the site, rather than having to constatly watch the weather forecast for a dry spe..

Just got back from a 6 night stay at Delamont and would recommend it to anyone. The site is run very efficiently and to the high standards you would expect on a club site. The easy access to the next door country park really make this a great site. With its adventure playground, minature railway and fantastic walks down to the Loch there is something for everyone. The site is also a good location from which to visit Belfast, the coast and the mountains. There is certainly no shortage of things to keep you occupied during your stay!

2 Grandparents, 2 parents and 2 under fives had a lovely holiday at this site. The site manager was really helpful especially when we arrived and he was very patient as we dithered over which would be the best pitches for our two units. The children loved playing with the other children there. The Adventure Playground which was part of the surrounding country part was very well equipped - superb for de-bouncing two very lively little boys. They also loved the miniature railway. I very much appreciated the beautiful country walks directly from the site round the Park and being able to get right down to the Lough.
It was our first experience of an electric hook up - my one criticism of the site would be that there are so few standard pitches, but the individual water tap and drain and the hook up made this very luxurious and did mean that my laptop could provide DVD entertainment for the boys and the cool box fan could function!
We thought the area very beautiful, the facilities modern, attractive and extremely well maintained and liked the spacious pitches and the dividing hedges. I'm sure we will be back!

Good site and well maintained with spacious pitches. All the bins seem to be located at reception; which is a bit of a hike if you are at the back of the site. Pitches towards the front seem to be a bit quieter at night and in the morning. Delamont country park is adjacent to the site and is very well resourced for children and adults; the views across Strangford Lough are lovely. There are lots of spots to picnic in the country park and play areas for the children, which is good as ball games are no allowed in the site.

A very pleasant site at the entrance to a large coastal park. Great for walking and cycling. There is also a childrens playpark and in the summer months other activities such as a miniture railway. The site is level and the washblock modern and clean. There is a basic shop on site with the nearest town a couple of miles away. Although there are leaflets in the office to arrange deliveries to the site if required.
