Went to this site for one night only to try everything out on our new van( we live locally). Very pleased with site, one and only downside was the road around the site was broken up and had potholes in places, due to the bad weather, full of muddy water( discovered this on way back to 'van in semi-darkness).However will definately be back for a last minute recharge of our batteries when we need it.

will be returning to this site, in an ideal location, beautiful scenery, lovely walks, villages, Bewdley was a lovely day out, plenty around the area to do for all ages. On arrival we were greeted by helpful and very friendly staff who showed us to our pitch. Gas refills available until 9pm even on easter sunday. Showers were brilliant, hot and forceful and spotlessly clean and proper tap, none of this pushing a button every few minutes, also hairdryer was a nice added touch.

We stayed at Wolverley over the Halloween weekend and Have to compliment the site managers on doing a great themed evening. Festivities started with a torchlight procession around the camp with the younger ones being encouraged to go trick or treat and I must say that the whole thing was conducted in a wonderfully happy and enjoyable way. Although not a fan of Halloween even I had to admit that some campers had gone to enormous lengths to decorate their units and to dress up in all manner of ghostly, ghoulish and terrifying outfits. The children were all supervised but still allowed to take part in the festivities freely and I came away with the impression that all that the Camping and Caravanning Club says about the friendliness of campers is absolutely true.
The Lock pub is just 2/3 minutes away and is worth a visit and the nearby canal provides some very pleasant easy walking.

I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

There is despite other views a definite slope to the site, and also traffic noise which could cause annoyance if pitched near the road, the facilities are dated yet kept very clean, despite this we enjoyed our stay of seven nights and liked the walking close by and the areas other amenities and attractions and will go again to this site

We had a most enjoyable stay on a secluded pretty site with good, very clean facilities. The shop had anything needed and books and videos to hire and within a 5 minute walk there was a good pub and a very good cafe overlooking the canal and lock and serving super bacon sarnies and cakes. I'd recommend this and hope we will return. Good fish and chip shop at Cookley.

After reading some of the reviews we were a little concerned for how level the pitches would be but upon arriving we struggled to understand what on earth the previous reviews were on about?! Great site in every way. Perfect for our family. We will be returning very soon. Children are very much welcome and the campsite encourages people without children to pitch further from those with children which is just common sense. We ended up staying on 5 extra days which was no problem to the staff what so ever and just goes to show how much we enjoyed this site. The shop sold odds and sods for the children at a very fair price and the staff had no problems with the children going into the shop by themselfs to choose sweets etc. My boys rate this as 1 of their fav sites too!! Dont hesitate with booking this site... you wont be disappointed.

I have stayed at this site twice before. Once when i was 14 and it really stuck in my mind as somewhere i wanted to go back to, a couple of years ago we took our tent and really enjoyed it and it was just as i remember, quiet with good sized pitches and plenty of things for the kids to do. I have now brought my first tourer and this is going to be the fist site i take it to! Can't wait.

Our first carvan break as recently moving from a trailer tent to a caravan. On arrival the staff were very helpful and showed us to available pitches, we aimed to pitch at the top of the site away from the road were the pitches are flat however we would have been happy to pitch anywhere on the site, the staff were very helpful throughout our stay and the facilities were kept very clean, the showers were just lush, so powerful and lovely and hot :)The dog walk is excellent and has a large field to enjoy all your family sport activities, the site has a recreaction room with pool(50p) and table tennis and a great selection of games etc with tables and chairs to enjoy some family board games. Drinks, ice-cream and all basics you may need are available from the shop in the reception area. The Town of Cookley is very near with a Tesco Express, cash point, Butchers for the BBQ, chippy and Indian which we recommend and deliver to the site (Yummy)The Lock Pub is recommended and the ice cream from the nearby tea gardens is very tasty, there is a putting green also within 5 mins walk. There are plenty of footpaths nearby to explore the area and you may walk to Kiddiminister(30-40mins) along the canal however you will need a car to access any local attractions etc. We have booked to return to Wolverley for the Halloween Weekend and very much looking forward to it and as a local site to our home we intend to spend future weekends in friends and family company :) Thanks to all at the site for a lovely stay :)

Second visit and will not be the last, we foresee many more trips to Wolverley. the staff were fantastic, especially as we arrived quite late in the evening. We were still met by a staff member and shown to a pitch. The showers and toilets are always immaculately clean, dustbins are regularly emptied. Excellent dog walking area, and a small play park if you happen to have children. The local pub, The Lock Inn is a must for a frozen Cider whilst watching the canal boats come through the lock. Excellent canal walks. Unruly children unfortunately are not down to the site staff, they are the responsibility of parents who have no respect for other club members!!
We were pitched by a well behaved family with 2 dogs, the children were a credit to their parents, well behaved and polite.

we stayed at this camp site for four nights its lovely, also very clean, the lock public house was 2 mins away, its great to sit outside to watch the narrow boats and people operating the lock. There is a lovely tea room next to the lock pub.The down side to The site- its on a hill next to a busy road, the sound of the lorries excelerating up the hill from 5am in the morning until about 11pm at night is very annoying. When booking please ask to be pitched away from THAT BUSY road.

Arrived at the weekend, the site was really busy after May bank holiday. The Warden said they had quite a few naughty children & we saw a few misbehaving. However on the Sunday evening it was quiet. This is a pleasant site although site is sloping we were lucky enough to be offered a pitch which was pretty much level. Although there is some road noise(don't think the club can afford to build byepass) we never found it disturbing. Although older the facilities were excellent "proper grown up showers" non of that constant button pressing for 30 seconds of water at a temperature decided by the club! Always clean miner gripe parents need to supervise the kids more! Added bonus is The Lock local pub had some great Take away fish and chips and the odd beverage or two. All in all a site I would be happy to visit again.

This was our first visit to the site and unfortunatly it will be our last. My family consisting of 2 adults, 2 Children and 2 dogs went for a weekend away close to home to try out our new tent before heading further a field. The site was very clean with a large field nearby which was great for the dogs to walk. The park is on a slop with all of the non electric at the bottom of the hill the furthest away from the only 1 block of toilets and showers situated at the top of the hill. Not great if like me you have a small bladder and suffer from Asthma. After a lovely welcome from staff I found that is where it stopped, on the 2nd day of our visit my 4 year old needed the toilet to be told that both male and female blocks were closed for claening and that we had to wait for the disabled. After 10 minutes of waiting my son was about to have an accident so I enquired with the staff in the ladies if he could use the toilet. The comment from staff was he will have to wait! They did knock on the disabled toilet to find a disabled lady using the facilities to wash and change. I think that instead of closing both at the same time a more suitable arrangement should be made. The other negative point about the site was the road noise, and the loud music that was head from the local pub on both nights finishing at midnight. On the whole not a good start to our membership with this club but we did meet some lovely members that have recommended other parks to us.

Good clean site for exploring the local area. Ironbridge gorge and the numerous museums there provided excellent days out about 30mins away. Passport tickets cam be bought at a discount on the Heart of England tourist board site, which makes it better value, otherwise a family passport ticket will set you back £60. Canal and pub beside the site make for relaxing walks followed by a rewarding pint. As for the campsite - on the whole clean and friendly, with two items of note. Firstly road noise, see other comments on this site, and pick your pitch with that in mind. Secondly, and also mentioned by others, whilst the toilet and showers are clean, the building is old and needs bringing up to date.

Within just a few hours of arriving I knew that we would be returning for more visits.
The facilities are excellent, toilets/showers always clean, power showers, plenty of hot water.
All staff were very friendly, newspapers available to order from the office/shop where a few essentials are also on sale.
Just a very short walk from any unit on site is "The Lock" public house, next to the canal, where dogs are welcome in the bar, bar snacks, meals available down stairs or sit in the restuarant upstairs. There are also tables with benches situated outside where you can sit and watch barges navigate the lock.
Loads of places to visit, Award winning Bodenham Arboretum, where you can pay an admission price to walk round on grass or hard paths, to view the many trees/plants, a number of different length walks can be taken.
Or you can just visit the award winning restuarant (no admission charge) and enjoy the splendid meals/snacks.
Hartlebury Museum is also worth a visit where you can also use the catering facilities without paying any admission.
For the more energetic, take a walk along the canal to Kidderminster (1Hr aprox), and then hop onto the steamtrain to Bridgnorth or any of the other stations on route for another great day out. The less energetic can drive to any of the stations (I would recommend Bridgnorth, 10 mile drive and £2:50p to park all day).
I could go on and on, but don`t want to be too enthusiastic or I won`t be able to get on the site again myself!
All in all lovely peaceful site, full of bird song, with great facilities!
What more could you want?

Fantastic!! We were a group of 10 adults, 10 children and 5 dogs. We were all catered for over the May bank holiday. We were a mixture of 1 caravan and 5 tents all of which were catered for within the same locality. We read the previous reviews and we were expecting the worse. We were near the noisy!!! road, 2nd row away, it was not too bad. even in a tent. The access road has now been tarmac, it was smooth and had adequate passing points. The toilet block was old style, but clean and tidy even on a busy bank holiday weekend. The showers were reported by one of our party to "be the best showers" she had ever had, this was from a seasoned camper. The showers, were clean, powerful and you could regulate. There were only 4 showers, but all of our party reported that they were only ever in a queue of 1-2 people, this was at different times of the day. Overall all of us enjoyed our stay, this included the 5 dogs, there was plenty of dog walks on site and nearby. We would all return again.

Site is well located near to pubs and has a canal running near by which is ok for fishing, and plenty of nearby attractions.
My only gripe with the site is the road noise. If pitched near to the road it is very loud and noticable from about 530am to 11pm with cars travelling at speed up and down. It might not be too bad if youre in a caravan but in a tent its a real pain.
Why arnt negative aspects of the sites put into the members big site book, at least members would be aware of such problems before they booked or arrived. ( suppose should have read the reviews)
Also be aware of the crows if pitched near the road. They nest just across and tend to wake up aound 5-15. The joys of the countryside !!! ( Not complaining about them though, just the damn road noise!!!

There was a very definite time scale for arriving at the site and we all had to queue at the entrance with our units until noon. This did cause a little problem with leaving vehicles as the drive is quite narrow. The site does experience constant road noise but the benefit of being able to walk along the canal to both Kinver and Kidderminster outweighed this annoyance. It is a family site so expect lots of children who tended to kick the ball around close to the other units and we did have a problem with a barking dog nearby. We liked the informal pitches and the wardens are helpful and informative. We also liked the seperate positioning and convenient motorhome water, waste point etc.

Negative points. This site is on a hill with two main pitching areas, high ground and low ground. It is also adjacent to a busy urban road, pitches close to the road experience intrusive traffic noise. Most pitches require levelling blocks for caravans. The Site drains well (we stayed for a week in heavy rain). The access roads within the site are bad, many deep pot holes. The grey water dispsal points have a significant risk for back injury in that access to the waste disposal is surrounded by a 4 inch wide kerb requiring the wastemaster to be lifted over the kerb. 4.5 ltrs of water = approx 10lbs weight so a 50 ltr waste master is difficult to lift over the kerb. Site security is poor, no coded barrier, just a simple pole that anyone can move. There is no night lighting in the upper camping area, you will certainly need a torch; but the lower area service bollards have intergral safety lights.
Positive points: Fresh water supply and chemical dispoal points were good. The showers and toilets looked clean (though we did not use them as we have on board shower etc.) The dish washing area was excellent with plenty of space and hot water. Useful shop maintained by the site managers on site. There is a useful pub with restaurant adjacent to the site. Varied menu from less than £10 to over £20 per course. From the Site is about 45 minute drive north to Ironbridge and 45 minute drive west to ancient town of Ludlow. Plenty of shopping in nearby Kidderminster.
I would use this site again only if the sites roads were fixed and hard standings installed.

Stayed here August bank holiday as a group of 2 families. On first impressions we were worried about the sloping ground but found the flatest part of our pitch and got on with it. Unfortunately we were pitched right on the bottom corner and the road noise was terrible, quite suprised a fence has never been erected to try and quiet this.
Children had a good time as site was safe enough for them to wander off and play on play area and playing field.
