Stayed over new year , one of the best sites I have stayed on . Wardens extremely helpful and friendly .Ideally situated to enjoy a number of walks and Cotswolds villagesand the races on New Years Day at Cheltenham was fab.The last night was extremely rough weather but there are !some relatively sheltered pitches which the wardens are happy to let you choose. Some pitches around a small lake which was lovely rather than being a totally open site.Would be great to haveThankyou an extra hoook in the showers for hanging clothes on - seems like a small thing but would make showering easier!Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will certainly return.Thankyou to the wardens

We stayed over New Year 2011/12 with some friends. Plenty of walking and great off road cycling straight from the site. Site was everything we have come to expect from the club. Best ever was the Gardners Arms in Alderton, where we went for NYE. Food was excellent and Wendy the owner, even drove us all back to the site after midnight. A perfect pub in a great location - make it a visit!

Just returned from a lovely overnight break away at this wonderful site and really cannot fault anything about it! It is without a doubt the nicest Camping and Caravan Club site we have stayed at to date and the site managers Sue and Ian and their staff ensure that the reputation of being ‘The Friendly Club’ is upheld to the absolute maximum. We felt extremely welcome throughout our short stay. The site is immaculate and looks inviting even in the middle of winter. The site staff work very hard to keep it looking this way and full credit to them for this. We found the surroundings both stunning and relaxing with the lake being the central focal point. There is some wonderful wildlife and we had ducks coming right up to the motorhome much to our dog’s delight! The site provides a lovely little dog walk and adjacent to the site there are fields where we were able to let the dog off lead for a good old run. The toilet block and washing up area were immaculate. Flowers in the ladies were a nice touch. We didn’t venture out as we were only away for one night but there is a lot to do in the area with plenty of pubs and restaurants and day’s out nearby. The information room and shop were both extremely well stocked. This is truly a 10 out of 10 site and we will definitely return in the future.

I wanted a site that wasnt too far for my first attempt at hitching, towing and setting up a caravan, after reading the reviews I decided on this site & was pleased I did. Being a single, disabled mum with a dog! I called first & they were so reassuring & accomodating before I had even set off (& when got lost on way)They set it all up for me, told me about takeway that delivered & checked we were all ok. TV reception was not very good, if your child has to have TV take DVDs or good aerial, but there's lots to do in the area. Wasn't there long enough to check out all the facilities, but what saw seem good, disabled toilet/shower area was clean. Main thing everybody else agrees with too is the site staff are amazingly helpful & friendly, if like me you are worried as not been caravanning before then this is the place to go. If I can cope with my fear of towing(got better on way back & plan on getting stabilizer bar) I will be back & thanks for pointing out front lights not working & showing me how to do jockey wheel & water heating properly. Attractive convenient site for Cotswolds. Recently visited with motorhome which was new to us having always had a caravan. We had only taken delivery of it the day before and were not given a handbook. We had problems with the electric fire and water heater and the warden who had a similar model could not have been more helpful. Not only did he spend some time trying to locate the right switches for us but he also photocopied his manual for us and during this another warden turned up with a fan heater. Many thanks for help.

I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

I stayed at Winchcombe in June and found myself returning again and again. The campsite is beautifully kept, the grounds beautiful and the staff simply wonderful. The situation is charming with fishing on site, walking in the hills and six pubs a short drive away, one is an easy walk across beautiful fields if you want to leave the car behind. This site is perfect for a family holiday base for an active holiday or a quiet weekend. I cannot praise this site highly enough.

A superb site, very peaceful, clean and tidy and the staff were most pleasant and helpful The only thing that let the site down was the lack of wi-fi. I booked this site because the book said it had wi-fi. It does not cover all the site and I was told it was available in the recreation room but that was closed by 9pm and I really wanted to use my computer in the comfort of our caravan.

They really helped us and taught us a lot of things too. Thanks. The staff here this year were brilliant. The sit is beautiful and in a great location to discover the Cotswolds. Close to the Motorway exit as well. It is very quiet. Facilities are excellent in every way. Home from Home!!!! We will be using it again next year. Thanks so much. You are a great team.

This is one of the best sites we have been to. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception sold a small variety of groceries such as bread and rolls and the information room had a lot of leaflets and info about local pubs and attractions. We had a lovely day visiting the steam railway which is about a 10 minute drive away. We also visited Broadway for lunch which is well worth a visit. The washing facilities were ok, I found them to be a little cold but were clean. They also have a fish and chip van that visits twice a week. We had a lovely pitch by the lake and were asked if we wanted to be by the childrens play area or not which was appreciated. All in all would definitely go back and would recommend.

Winchcombe site was fantastic,Really great for wheelchair users and the Staff really went out of their way to make sure everything was easy for us. The site is set in a secluded tree-filled area with fishing lake on site.
The staff were brill freindly without interfering and everyone of them helped when I needed advice and info. The site is very clean and that is important to me.
Sue (site manager) really went out of her way to locate online a particular store location. All part of the service I guess altho I didn't expect service that good.
TOURING: The Cotswolds are amazing, alovely green calm land with lots of brilliant country towns to explore. I had my fill of charity shops with posh frocks, country clothing stores where I accquired my BARBOUR jacket in the sale and FOOD, Coffee on tap at cosy nooks or established hotels with discerning clients.
THE BEST FISH MEAL (TOP 3RD) in my life and I used to own a little bistro was
THE BUGATTI INN 10 min's drive form the site. The couple are up from Cornwall and Sean and Carol (Wife is Chef) served us up a FRESH FISH meal that we will never forget. It's also very friendly Bar and if I hadn't been worried about reconecting our drive away awning in the dark I would have been persuaded to stay for the quiz, THE PRIZE another FISH MEAL. They do other dishes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I will def be using Winchcombe again as so much more to see around the Cotswolds.
Happy camping

We were very warmly welcomed at reception and, although we only stayed 2 nights, the warmth & friendliness of staff was fabulous (even when being followed by our children!!!). The facilties were very clean (showers & dishwashing area). The only aspect we worried about, slightly, was the access to the lake; once the children had discovered how close it was to the tents they wanted to keep going near it & we had to keep going with them for fear of one of them falling in!!! We had a lovely time & would recomend the site to anyone that asked. Thank you x

We loved this site from the moment we arrived! The welcome was friendly, relaxed and not without a touch of humour - a natural warmth, just the way a welcome should be. The friendliness of the staff was matched by the beauty of the site which included a large lake with fishing platforms. Immaculate toilets and showers, large pitches, a games room and even a visiting fish & chip van. All that as well as the beauty of the Cotswolds on your doorstep. Brilliant!

Had a great welcome on arrival. All information that was needed was given. A really nice site that lends itself to visiting the Cotswolds, Stratford, Warwick Gloucester and Cheltenham. Easy access to South Wales. Fish and Chip van visits twice a week. We originally booked for three nights and ended up staying six. The staff are really great and helpful. It is a pity that some campers leave the toilets in such a disgusting state. My sympathies to the staff who have to clean up after them. We will be back! Thanks.

A lovely clean site with great staff who were most helpful. Decent sized pitches, most on hardstanding.
In a very pituresque spot with hills in the distance and a small lake onsite for any fishermen amongst you.
The Winchcombe Way, a 42 mile public footpath is adjacent to the site and the village of Alderton is a 15 minute walk away.
Just cross the road from the campsite and walk down the road to the public footpath which takes you across the fields to the village and the Gardeners Arms with a warm welcome, good food and great beer.
Get a 25% off food voucher from the information area at the campsite before you go.
Also a good central location to explore the Cotswolds.
The only tiny criticism I would have is that 4 mens and 4 womens showers isn't really enough when the site is full like it was when we were there.
Other than that excellent.

Just got back from this site after taking part in The Hell of The North Cotswolds mountain bike ride
The site is very secure and well looked after and has very good clean facilities with excellent helpful staff who are always keen to help
The site is well laid out with water and waste water facilities all close by
There is a small play area with a couple of swings and a climbing frame and a small goal for kids to play football
The dog walk area is next to the play area but there are plenty of dog waste bins around the site
The only improvement i would make would be for an additional chemical disposal point down the other end of the site as its a fair walk if your down the bottom end, that is not a critisism of the site but it would improve it
Whilst we were there we visited The Gardeners Arms in Alderton which is only 5 minutes away in the car, the pub is lovely and the food was excellent and to make it even better we got a 25% discount voucher from the campsite reception so it was good value as well !!
We will definitely go back

Winchcombe is a good well set out site which offers good clean modern facilaties. There are foot paths off the site also short walk around the lake. this site is set in lovely country side but not far from Winchcombe town which offers paper shops, co-op,also tea rooms dress shops and other shops of veriety. Winchcobe caravan & Camping club site is good for a long or short stay near Cheltenham,Gloucester & many small villages. This site has very helpful kind and friendly wardens we will go to this site again.

Fab site beautifully tended. Lovely pond for fishing, wonderful views and loads of wildlife such as woodpeckers, owls, moorhen and plenty of ducks. Site staff couldn't be more helpful they ferried us to and from local garage when our car broke down. Stunning walks and pretty villages right on the doorstep. We will definitely go back!

We have visited this site for the last four years using it as a staging post for transit north to south. Each year the facilities have improved and this year was no exception. There are more hard standings, toilet block refurbished to the highest standards and a new automatic barrier system which is much easier than the old gate. I would recommend this site to anyone who is happy with a site away from the coast. History buffs are surrounded by examples of different periods of our past.
The staff are helpful competent with a pleasant disposition. The only minor criticism is the very limited hours of shop opening.

Despite the rain we enjoyed the facilities and location and could not fault the site. However we felt that the rules were enforced to the point of being a bit over the top.

A lovely welcoming site with fab security (you even need a passcode to access the shower block & toilets). All facilities were spotless and this encouraged campers to clean up after themselves. Helpful and friendly staff. A strict manager with regards to site regulations (but thats not a negative comment). We had a great 5 nights stay here and would certainly return.
