My first visit to a Club Site and I was very pleased. The staff were welcoming and friendly and helpful when I had a problem with my car.
The facilities were very clean and up to date.
The site is very handy to walk the 3-4 miles to both Sherringham or Cromer.
The visiting fish & chip van is good but there can be a long wait in the queue.
Very handy for the north norfolk coast and i would certainly recommend it.

Had a very enjoyable week at West Runton with grandchildren. Thank you.
Were put on a service pitch backing up to the boundary which suited us fine. Access road nowhere as bad as made out. Childrens play area basic but well used. Nice welcome from staff, even though site was fairly full and they were busy. Very handy location for nearby villages and Cromer, can recommend the family shows on the pier and lifeboat museum. Shire Horse Centre worth a visit and within walking distance. Pick a day when they are giving demonstrations and talks. Pitched not too far from a facilities block, both of which are extremely well maintained. Very good drier in laundry room, well used due to heavy rain at times! Only issue during the whole week was a missing sink plug in the wash up area and a faulty light bulb, both replaced same day as reported to reception so can't complain about that! No recycling facility on site, apparently because site is within a mile of local council amenity,so no great problem really. We will definitely return to West Runton.

we thouroughly enjoyed our stay.the surrounding area of the site is a beautiful place to explore and visit.some reviews comment on getting to the site as being a bit rough narrow and steep. it is steepish and narrow but if it is taken slowly it not as bad as it seems , plenty of passing places and when you get to the entrance the descent seems trivial.will be going again next year definately.

Usual standards for facilities, unfortunately there were no hand driers in Ladies toilets. Also the approach road still leaves a lot to be desired even after improvments(I hate to think how bad it was before.)We understand that the problem lies with the National Trust but it has to be said some of the pot holes near the top will cause problems if left unattended this winter.

Site very busy due to school hols. Showers cold unless you were in very early, grubby by tea time because only cleaned once per day and this is not enough when the site is so full. Access road is a joke, very narrow and badly potholed. When we arrived the shower screen in my new Swift caraan was broken away from its hinges and laid in the bottom of the shower tray, looking at a large bill to repair, caused by the shocking road surface.
We pay a premium to stay on club sites during the school hols and we are not getting premium service.
In recent years we have noticed that standards are slipping, this needs to be adressed .

Second time we have stayed this year and must admit we were disappointed compared to the May break we had. Site was very busy, as we expected, but it was pretty crammed in and everyone on top of each other. Showers were cold unless you showered very early or very late, just seemd boiler couldn't cope with the numbers. Kids stayed up making alot of noise well after 10 at night.

This was our first camping adventure with our 4 year old daughter and Dog in tow. The site came highly recommended by close family friends. We were made very welcome on our arrival and staff made sure that we were catered for. The fish and chips on wednesday evening were excellent, although you do need patients as they cook fish to order.
Daughter and dog thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Will look to book again for a longer stay as the local area has a lot to offer.

Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities excellent and cleaned daily. Showers were warm and plenty of space to get dressed in. There were seperate cubicles with washing basins so nice and private too. We were put near the childrens playing area which wasn't ideal as we don't have children and it got quite noisy but as it was the school holidays this was to be expected. It was either this pitch or one which sloped so we took the flatter and noisier option! Very easy to get to the beach from the site (gate by the dog walk at the back of the park) and you can walk to either East or West Runton. Would recommend and would visit again.

Excellent site with friendly staff and very clean and tidy facilities.
The children really enjoyed theirselves.
Good easy access to Cromer and the surrounding area. As with the other reviews, access road was very narrow, it was like driving through a dense forest, but that made it all the more fun. Would definately recommend and will look forward to returning again!!

If your sat nav is like mine you will have to ignore it when you get within a mile as it takes you round in big circle probably because the site is accessed by a narrow dirt track of about 800 metres through woodland - not great if you meet vehicles exiting. Once there - great site. As usual very friendly helpful staff. Very pretty site with good walks to West Runton ( 1 good pub and couple of shops. Beach has rocky pools) and East Runton (2 ordinary pubs - no food and one shop but with great sandy beach). Also site next to common where you can take dogs for quick walk to admire great views over the two villages and sea beyond - great on sunny evening. Facilities spot on - some of the best we have found. Worth the scarry drive in and would return

Access Road is difficult when towing. We encountered a Motorhome with a car trailer coming off site when we arrived at approx 1.30pm. Passing place was very tight for car and caravan. The potholes have been repaired and some of the coat hooks in showers have been replaced. The shower block is very spacious, one of the best in the club. Some good walks via footpaths from the site. The site is well worth a visit despite the access problem. We would definitely return!

Me and my elderly dog spent 3 nights here, it was my first time at this site and found the drive through the woods on the bumpy track a bit of an experience (sporty corsa so hard suspension)but once i arrived at the entrance to the site it was well worth it. It opened out to a very tidy well kept site. The reception i received was fantastic, i was given directions to walk to East & West Runton from the site(east is a sandy dog friendly beach)and a low down on the amenities. Through one of the two gates located in the site a short walk gives fantastic sea views, though maybe a bit hilly, nothing big but if you are only used to flat like me seems like a mountain! The showers, toilets and vanity cubicles were immaculate, hair dryer was really good and at 20p for approx 5 mins did what it should, but no mirror in front of dryer to see what you are doing you could end up looking like Worzel Gummidge!(mirror to side but cord not long enough!). Fish and chips on a wednesday and saturday night is not to be missed ......yummy! Seems like there is plenty to do around the area, but due to dog being elderly only went to Sheringham Park and East Runton beach.
Will definately be going back.

The most difficult part was believing my satnav was right when I was instructed to turn up this quite narrow road going uphill. This was my first time out with my motorhome, so was a little bit nervous! Was very lucky that a very large motorhome towing a car on a trailer turned just in front of me so I followed it - no problem. Once up to the top of the hill its then down through the trees, which kind of added to the sense of adventure. Met a landrover coming up towing a trailer tent, but using the passing places was easy, as they are quite large. Then coming out of the trees onto the site was lovely with all the beautiful flowers. The site wardens are so friendly and helpful. Everything is so clean and fresh. I will definitely come back here, as it is really a great site.

The access is absolutely fine, we had no problems considering we have only owned our motorhome 2 weeks and this was our second outing! Lovely welcome, very attentive staff, even checked we were ok once we had settled in. We had an ideal pitch which was great for our dogs, one dog was on his first outing so we were worried. Excellent walks, infact we walked to East Runton beach in the evening which is any easy walk from site so the dogs could let off steam. Everyone seemed very friendly and happy there this I am sure is due to the fact the site is so well organised and clean, couldnt fault anything at all, we went out for the day managed to shop at Morrisons nearby and return with no problem ( re access road) We were even able to move over a pitch so we could get TV reception as we were under a tree ! We are returning only a week later for 3 nights, we were so impressed and felt relaxed and happy there, dogs loved it too ! Thank you and well done for being such a lovely site !

Just had a three night stay. What a wonderful site. Spotlessly clean, very friendly, very quiet provided you stay away from the the childrens play area which is small. Will be back in September when we have sorted our dates out. Its a great area of the country with pleasant villages and places to stop for tea. If travelling with a dog there are excellent walks around the site without the need to use a car.

We were a little apprehensive about this site after reading about the tricky access road. It was nowhere near as bad as we'd feared. A lot of work had been done filling in potholes and a slow drive gave us no problems even without the benefit of a 4x4, just a medium sized estate towing. There are plenty of passing places and as long as caravans leave before midday and arrive after midday there should be no problem. The week after we stayed there, the track was due to be closed for two days for major surgery so it should be even better now. The wardens were all friendly and helpful and the walks right off the site superb, especially for a dog owner. Only minor criticism is that the shower cubicles and washbasin cubicles had cheap plastic hooks and a number of these had snapped. Hardly the crime of the century. Fish n chip van Wed and Sat. All in all a well run site in a good location and we'll be back.

Lovley dog walks. The access road is not good but is always worth it. We are so looking forward to visiting again this coming weekend can not wait. Just need the sun to shine.

As previously mentioned, access is down a longish gravel lane, but by no means as bad as I was expecting, slightly pot-holed but plenty of passing places.
Very clean facilities, never had to queue for a shower despite being there during a bank holiday.
Site was busy but did not feel overly-cramped.
Site is generally very secluded and quiet, despite some noise in the evenings over the bank holiday weekend, the 11pm curfew kicked in efficiently and was very peaceful after that.
Loads to do in the area - something for everyone.
Found some good restaurants in Cromer - The Old Rock Shop Bistro and Garden Street Grill. Near to site was Roman Camp pub/restaurant - good food but dreadfully slow service.
On the whole West Runton is highly recommended and we would have no hesitation in revisiting.

our first outing in our trailer tent. Very friendly reception, although a little OCD on the 6 metre spacing of units. great site which filled quickly on the friday but toilet blocks remained clean. Our pitch was fairly flat but rest of the site on a little slope. Entrance to the site was tricky, unmade bumpy single file road but very managable. Glad I hadn't got a caravan though with standard car. Very enjoyable stay great dog walks which give fansastic views across golf course and sea.

We have just returned from a 4 night break at this beautiful site. Really couldn't fault the site or facilities. We love walking and had some fantastic treks from the campsite with our husky, with no need for the car at all.
The only upsetting incident was a comment by one of the staff that a tent the size of ours, was 'the bane of our lives'. This was our first outing with our new tent which we bought especially to be within the 5m x 9m C&CC size specifications.

Good pub 'Village Inn' at West Runton. Also train from here going both ways along the coast. 5mins walk to headland with lovely views. Mix of caravans/campervans and tents. Good pitches. This was our second year running we visited the site as we love the tranquility that it gives us. But the biggest moan has to be the access road which was worse that in 2009. Talks with an area manager did not give any confidence to us that it would even be patched to make it better when towing a caravan.
All that aside the managers Lyn & Terry were hard working as most of their assistants, there was a good repore among them, they were always polite and friendly. The site is well cared for and the facilities clean and tidy and were checked several time a day. The hanging baskets, pots and ardens well cared for and gave a lovely entrance after the dreadful access.

The access to the site is 1/2 mile from the road to the barrier - this is very steep, narrow with passing places, with numerous deep potholes and ruts - an absolute nightmare to negotiate when towing a 25 ft long caravan, even when driving incredibly slowly; when it rained the depth of the pothoples could not be seen - just felt!! The state of this track was not mentioned anywhere in the description of the site - forewarned is forearmed!

If only sites were as quiet as this all year round. Very friendly and welcoming staff. All facilities very clean.
Access to site via quite a long "rough" track which may pose some problems for anyone towing a caravan. Site just a few minutes away from the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Too many attractions to list.
