This is a great site, the TV and games room were a big help for the kids on our one day of rain. Great beach close by. It was a great base for exploring the area with lots of attractions not too far of a drive away. Lands End is well worth a visit as is St Mawes and Mevagissey. Facilities were exceptionally clean and could not be faulted the only way they could be improved is a slip mat in the laundry room. Whilst there are clear signs around the fishing lake about danger for children it would be much improved if kids couldn't access it, maybe a coded gate when you get a licence you get the code.

We wondered about this site, as some reviews talked about "tired facilities", but this is certainly not true now. All washrooms etc were spotless, and all that one could wish. We both appreciate private cubicles with basins, and there were a good number of these. We had two stays (being defeated by wind and rain in our attempts at walking the coastal path the first time!) and were welcomed back 10 days later with open arms. The staff were as helpful as we have ever come across.. They were seen checking the washrooms for cleanliness at various points during the day - desirable, but not often seen. Well done - and may their efforts be rewarded by a good summer!

Fantastic site! Staff welcoming and facilities excellent. Dog friendly! (we have three!). Weather dreadful (gales and rain) but still enjoyed the break. will definitely return, hopefully in better weather, Very pretty area with two pubs (excellent food at both) close by. A lovely beach close by at Carne too. Thanks for an enjoyable stay in such a pretty, well-kept site.

We have a large family and needed a site that suited our needs. The team were amazing and very sociable throughout our stay. You are 2 miles from some fantastic coastline. The site has good facilities that are kept very clean and in good working order. We have no hesitation in booking again and actually was reluctant to leave a good review as it means we have to share. All we can say is, enjoy a part of cornwall that is fantastic, supported by a fantastic site team.

My unit is a 37' long fifth wheel american trailer, with a large tow vehicle making my total length 55' - so a call to the site was made explaining this before we attended. Assured we would get on - we braved the Cornish roads and were met by Dave the manager who couldn't have been more helpfull. We got onto the site no problem, and although too large for a hardstanding pitch - were sited on the well drained grass with hookup.
Many sites have a questionable attitude to large american RV's and rigs - but not here - we were made very welcome and given all the assistance we needed siting the unit for our weeks stay - thank you!
The site itself is absolutely fine - no complaints - but the location is somewhat isolated and a car is needed to get about - preferably a small one to cope with Cornish roads!!!

Dave and Linda were very welcoming also the other staff, the week we stayed we met loads of lovely people who were also there we had only one complaint that it is a bit slopey , we needed to use our chocks which was a minor problem. we loved the site so much we are already deciding dates for 2013.Didn'e realise that there was additional showers for the womans block around the corner, quite a few of us thought there was only two, think they should have been signposted more.Other than that a lovely destination to view the super countryside and surrounding area's

Lovely site, Dave and Linda, the managers, were really friendly and helpful as were all the other staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of toilets and showers, always clean. All other facilities plentiful too, water and electricity stands etc. There is also a lovely fishing lake - with fish - you can see them! Chippy nights and curry nights etc. regularly held. Centrally placed to visit all of Cornwall relatively easily. We managed to extend our stay by a couple of nights as we didn't want to leave. Brilliant holiday, thank you all.

We stayed here for 3 nights in late August 2012. Having just come from another fantastic CCC site, we had great expectations, but this site didn't quite match them... We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our pitch (grass with EHU) which was on such a slope that our standard levelling chocks weren't enough to get us level, and the ground was so wet that we sunk into the pitch (damaging our van in the process) We asked to be moved to a hardstanding pitch, which was no problem, but the only one available was at the very back of the site amongst what seemed to be unoccupied caravans left there for storage. I can't put my finger on what disappointed us about the site, our pitch was level and spacious, the facilities were clean and plentiful, the play areas and TV room for the kids was ok... However, the people who were staying there didn't seem very friendly, it felt like a bit of a sad place. The options for excursions from the site are ok, but all require transport, the busses aren't great. So if you're going in a motorhome then you'll need to drive it to get anywhere. The local roads are VERY narrow so access to the nearest beaches and villages with a large motorhome is VERY difficult. The narrow roads and the speed of the cars also makes cycling with small children a no-go - so you are very limited if you don't want to drive. This is a site that we probably won't visit again, as it's not for us unfortunately.

Site is large, very clean and tidy but is starting to show signs of ageing. It would be a great pity not to invest in this site to keep it at a standard it deserves. We had an opportunity to view self catering lodge on site, providing impressive accomodation but again does require investment and some modernisation to bring up to a more respectable standard. Very peaceful and beautiful area. The well stocked pond could have done with quite a bit more de-weeding prior to the main holiday season to provide easier fishing for younger families. Games room and TV room are an excellent asset. Overall, a big thumbs up and worth a visit. Looking forward to returning again and hopefully seeing the full potential of this site realised. Well done to Dave and all of the friendly team for your hard work in keeping such a clean, tidy and happy site!

Just arrived home from the Veryan site and all in all had a pleasant stay. Our son who is 7 had a fab time, made friends within about 5 minutes of arriving and for us him being happy was the most important thing. We felt quite happy to let him go off and play as the site was very secluded and there did not seem much passing traffic - one thing though, the play area was right by the main entrance to the site.... The only other gripes were that there was only one shower /toilet block which served the whole of the site - one chemical toilet disposal point, and one rubbish point - depending on where you were on the site it was a bit of a trek to do your bits! The facilities were clean and staff on the whole were helpful - we arrived early and within an hour tops were setting up. The site was nice and peaceful and quiet at night. All in all a pleasant experience. Not sure I would go again though.

Just back from wonderful break at Veryan. The site is lovely, a little sloping in some places. The staff were great - Berni is a star, always cheerful!!! We also met another family that we had bumped into at the Hertford Club site - we get about , us CCC members!!! Fantastic place to let the children roam free, a TV room where we all congregated to watch the Olympics, a family of feral cats that we fed leftover breakfast to, plenty to do in the surrounding area, but also peaceful enough to stay on site and just relax. Thank you everyone.

The site staff at Veryan could not have done more to make our stay an enjoyable one. the site is well maintained and kept tidy, and complete novices receive every assistance in setting up and using their units. Near to many local attractions, and also secluded walks and beaches, the site position means that most places of interest are within an hours journey in the car. Although kept to a high standard, the site would benefit from some investment from the club to modernise the facilities. We would recommend this site without hesitation.

What a lovely welcome from Bernie and the team . Great site although some facilities could do with a lick of paint and a little attention to detail . But easily one of the best club sites we have stayed at , a truly beautiful unspoilt area of cornwall .We were having such a great time we stayed an extra night finished of with the best fish and chips cooked on site . Very nice friendly staff and very helpful when our mobile phone batteries went flat many thanks . Our 2 year old son loved the park and the vast open grass areas . We were taking a short weekend break and wanted to be near the coast to do some sea fishing. We stayed at a C and C site last year near Newquay that certainly did not live up to the friendly reputation. However, the staff at this site were brilliant, the friendliest bunch of staff we have ever come across at a site. There is a small park area for kids and a games room with a pool table and table tennis and a tv room, handy when it has been raining so much. There is also a lovely lake where there was steady activity and lots of fish about. There are great walks nearby. My only small gripe is that the shower floors need replacing soon and the games huts need updating outside, they are getting a bit old and tired. All in all an excellent experience though, thank you guys and gals of Veryan :)

A fantastic reception with a choice of pitch and explanation of facilities etc. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Bernie was a real asset to the team. A lovely site in the countryside, you will need the car to get to most local facilities although it is possible to walk to Portloe if you are fit. New Inn Veryan was very nice but small so book a table. Lots of places to visit and beaches within 30 mins to 1 hour drive. Can recommend the fish and chips from the van, queue early if you are hungry! A lovely site, well looked after by the team who were always busy while we were there. Would definitely visit again. We've just returned home after 10 nights at the Veryan club site. The facilities, welcome and site were as we expected - perfect.
The fishing lake, as advertised on this web site, is in need of attention, the swims were badly overgrown with weed and needed cleaning up.
The sea shore within walking distance at Portloe is beautiful, though we failed to find a good local pub until our last day. Instead we tried the Lugger hotel - very classy.
Beaches at Carne and Porthcurnick are well worth a visit also there is easy access to the South West coastal path - simply a joy.

I visited the site over the Easter bank holiday with my wife and dogs. The staff are very friendly and helpful, toilet and shower facilities kept clean and tidy. Dog field is perfect for the quick morning and evening walks. We walked into Portloe from the site, just over 1.5 miles, visited the Ship Inn, was busy so if your visiting during a popular period I'd book! Good pub grub and a lovely pint. Staff where friendly and accommodating. Fish & Chips from the van that visits the site (Mondays) or Veryan (Saturdays) are perfect.
Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Veryan is recommended, again really good food, nice atmosphere and friendly landlord and locals.
Beaches and coast line around the site is stunning, walks and beaches are worth visiting.
Couple of things about the site, the play area was limited and two of the three activities where out of order, games room has a pool and table tennis table. Shop is very limited in its opening hours and stock.

I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

Just returned a couple of weeks ago from our main 2 week summer holiday at the Veryan site feeling thoroughly relaxed. On arrival we had a warm welcome and an explanation of the site as this was our first time there. We were then shown several pitches that were available for us,with no pressure to choose quickly. Our pitch was extremely spacious with well over the 6 metre gap between us and the next tent. The facilities were kept especially clean and even though they were closed between 10.45-12,this did not bother us as we had usually gone out for the day by this time. Our two boys made lots of friends, mostly playing on the small play area or hide n seek as the sun went down!We just sat by the warm bbq and watched the stars with a glass of wine(of course). The site was very peaceful despite there being children around (including my own)and there was never any noise between the hours of 11-7 so we all had a fab nights sleep. The Fish n chip wagon on a Monday evening was a nice touch and the tasted delicious, as was the strawberry man that came round once a week. They were the sweetest strawberries Iv'e ever tasted! They breakfast van every morning was perfect if you didnt fancy cooking bacon n sausages and all the messy pots for a change and it was curry night on a Saturday, although we didn't try it did smell nice.We particularly liked the sites location for ease of getting to our favourite beach- Porthluney, which was near Caerhays Castle. However its in easy reach of St Mawes, Mevagissy, Charlsetown and St Austell. To sum up, over the years we have stayed in caravans, cottages, hotels and travelled abroad but my boys said it was one of the best holidays they've ever had and i'm inclined to agree.

We had a ten day camping break at this site and stayed with our three young children (under 11) Although this is a beautiful site there were a number of things that left us disappointed. At least half of the toilets/washrooms were permenantly locked (less to clean?) the ball field was in the middle of the dog walking field which contained dog poo and the site shop was only open for a few hours a day which prevented that mid afternoon ice cream. This site is more suitable for older families, with quiet children that wake up after 8.00am in the morning. We were also unfortunate to be pitched next to a family with teenagers who did not appreciate early risers!

one lesson learned very quickly there is do no use Satnav with caravan to get you there when you turn off the A390 as it can take you down one nasty road.(the first on the left)but carry on on main road.
Site was very crowded but managed OK to get showers etc but like most of the CCC sites now the rubbish bins are at the site entrance when the weather is bad is a bit of a bind.
Lovely beach at Porth NT car park nearby.

We've returned yet again and yet again an excellent stay.I am somewhat disabled and so the Disabled facilities were tested to the full and passed 100%.
Washing up, laundry and Chemical Disposal was a trek so I used the car!
Pity about some of the facilities in the main block as they were out of action - and when there is a full site things were stretched!
On our pitch our 25m hook up lead was too short and so we were lent an extension from the site.
We'll be back!!
Big bonus was the full English breakfast service every morning and the curry night once a week - all on site. There was Fish & Chip van, but it was a bit too early for us!

Excellent site: great location and the facilities on site were very good. Shower block was great with big enough cubicles to handle the daily effort of getting small children clean pretty easily! The shop, while small was stocked with essentials. Monday night Fish and Chips were fab! Local walks along the coast were breath-taking. Everyone was friendly and the Boys had a great time and made loads of new friends while cruicially not bothering the adults too much! Also - and this really is niff naff and trivia, but it was the first campsite in 4 years of family camping at which we didn't bend a single tent peg - good news all round!

Having stayed at this site for the past 5 years shame that the usual standard of facilities let it down, maybe this had something to do with the change in staff! but we have never experienced any showers being locked, apparently due to out of order, plus half of the toilets and wash cubicles locked for most part of our stay which was 2 weeks during the school summer holidays. Some of the pitching seemed to be under the usual 6 metre rule. Sadly we might have to give this usually lovely site a miss next season.

Welcome was very friendly, when taken to pitch and there was a problem with electric hook-up we were relocated very quickly and without a fuss. All pitches were spacious and well spaced out and we did not feel overlooked throughout the week we were there. The site was always very clean and tidy and the occasions when the toilets were dirty, was because of the users rather than poor standards of cleaning by the site team. The site was quite busy, but the shower/toilet facilities were more than adequate. The washing up facilities coped well with the number of users; yes they were a trek from our pitch, but isn't that all part of the camping experience.I have camped regularly with my daughter on our own since she was about 6 years old,she is now 15. Our favourite type of camping holiday is rest and relaxation with short drives to places to visit. Veryan provided just what we needed.

Great welcome and helpful staff. Childrens play area was great. However... expect queues for toilets and showers. At least half are permanently locked (never seen this before)! And at certain hours every shower and toilet is locked. Shop opens erratic hours also. You do feel that campers are expected to fit in with staff hours. A campsite to avoid if more than half full. Disappointing. Family room lacks a child bath or shower - a baby room, not a toddler room.

Friendly welcome. Some of the showers and toilets in the men's block were permanently locked/out of order. Biggest problem with this site is there's only one toilet block so it's a long walk/wet feet if you're at the other side of the site and it's raining. You also have to do more washing up in the caravan which means more fetching and carrying of water. The facilities are ok but not as good as Caravan Club sites. It's too far to walk comfortably to the beach or the local pubs so you need to get the car out. It is well placed for the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Truro, St Mawes etc.

We were greeted with a very warm and enthusiastic welcome from all of the members of staff that were around when we arrived and were shown to our pitch. We had a lovely position in the corner down by the lake which meant that it was very quiet.
One of the things that I really did like about the site was that it was not littered by light poles, but during our stay it didn't really get dark enough for it to be necessary to use a torch. Be prepared to need a very long electricity hook-up cable - ours only just stretched far enough.
There is a TV room on site, but I never saw anyone go near it, the same applies to the games room and table tennis table.
The only slight downside to the site is that the bathroom facilities could do with updating. Most of the ladies toilets were permanently locked, whether out of order or out of bounds I don't know, but this didn't really matter as no queues were seen. Also some of the lights above the sinks didn't work. Out of the 6 female showers only 3 were operable, which did cause a queue on Saturday morning.
Finally, there is an on-site hot food stall which was doing curry night on Saturdays - Unless you like raisins in your rice and your curry, or were a fan of the old vesta curries, then I would recommend steering well clear of this. It was possibly the worst curry that I think I've ever had!! I definitely regretted being lazy and not cooking myself. I can't comment on the other food that this stall sells because we only tried the curry.
Overall a pleasant stay at a nice little site.

Fabulous 10 day break, site was very good and ideal for area visited with easy access to coast and local attractions. St Maws is a lovely place to visit and Lost gardens of Heligan is a must. Port Issac was a favorite for us, such a pretty place. Only one thing about site and that was no glass recycling which I think is required. Staff friendly and helpfull. Site very clean and well maintained.

We had 2 weeks here in August 2010. The shower facilities were great, very clean and well looked after. I really liked that there were alot of showers, 7 in total i think (ladies) and also in the toilets there were wash cubicles. Great laundry room and washing up area. Loved the BBQ every week (Pork roll was very tasty)
The site was well looked after and very neat. Fishing was great in the onsite lake was great. The play area, playing field and dob walk was very good and the TV and Tabletennis room were very welcome for the kids as weather was not always great.
Excellent beaches not to far away, although the roads are very narrow, which is a bit worrying. Very impressed with our whole holiday.

We loved this site. We camped during half-term (May/1st week of June) with our two young children - aged 3 and 7. They had a fabulous time. The facilities are good and very well-maintained, although the shop is maybe a little basic. Friendly, helpful team running the site, lots of lovely spots to visit along that coast of Cornwall and still a few secluded beaches. The pitches are a good isze and even when busy it doesn't feel crammed. It was peaceful without feeling that the children needed to be quiet and SO relaxing. We'd thoroughly recommend it.

Fantastic site which is truly in the middle of nowhere! Lovely pub and tea gardens in veryan village. We spent the week walking our dogs. Not many walks directly from site but lots of unspoilt beaches nearby (majority are dogs on leads during daytime - but several are fully dog friendly) and lots of coastal walks. Pendower beach is probably the nearest - ideal for an evening bbq. Truro is not too far away - but drive round because the ferry is eye-wateringly expensive! Also had a lovely meal at the Kings Arms in Tregoney. Our favourite beach was probably Porthluney at Caerhays. Take plenty of money for parking though as many beaches are privately owned.

We took in this site as part of a two week three centre holiday and it was by far the best of the three, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and offer help at all times, facilities are both adequate and clean, weather wasn't great but the site is well situated for exploring the south cornwall coast and surrounds, for any fishermen the small secluded lake is well maintained and stocked and offers good sport, will definitely be returning.

Not long returned from our third visit to this site. Weather a lot better this time. Easy access by car to several very nice beaches and lots of coves if you fancy walking to them. Surf generally quite flat so good for canoeing and swimming, if you dont mind the cold. Beaches are not lifeguard patrolled which I personally prefer.
When you arrive on the site you are given the choice of available pitches with a fair choice every time so far. Site facilities are fine with the showers being just about warm enough for my taste but not adjustable.
I suppose my only complaint would be noise form other campers and people driving too fast round the site. Was never any consequences that I noticed and no reminder when you arrive to be quiet. I know its the thing I notice most after the toilets but some, hopefully non members really dont know how to behave.
Will I be back, certainly, although I believe it will be under new management next year.
