"Tregurrian is a great for watersports & people looking for a seaside holiday."
Our campsite at Tregurrian is on the north coast of Cornwall. It is a great place for watersport lovers, but there are also plenty of opportunities to relax on the sandy beaches or the many places of interest around both north and south Cornwall. Age Concession available all season, excluding the high season.

Great week spent at Tregurrian. Rather windy at times, however you are near the North Cornish Coast line and some wind will be expected.
Wonderful walks from site to the coastal path, either to Watergate Bay and beyond or to Mawgan Porth and North. Beaches dog friendly, Jake loved watching the kite surfers!
Peaceful site which allowed me to complete some work (sounds of Skylarks and Buzzards in the back ground. lovely)
Paul and Angie are excellent site managers, always friendly and helpful and not intrusive, thank you.
We will be back.

Great week sent at Tregurrian, Paul and Angie most helpful and maintain the site to a high standard. You know they are around but they are not intrusive.
Enjoyed all the walks from the site along the coastal path to either Watergate Bay or Mawgan Porth, both dog friendly beaches. Jake loved watching the kite-surfers! I loved the cliff walks with the souond of the crashing sea, Buzzards and Sky Larks, great stuff.
As others have said the site is a little breezy at times, we did experience 2 nights of good gusts and the awning took a battering and lived to tell the tale. Well impressed with the Quest Berkley Porch Awning.
Thanks Paul & Angie, we will be back.
Angie and Paul were terrific hosts and the site was immaculate.
We usually tent camp but hired a Motorhome for this trip just to try it - the site has simple access and is very level.
Great access to the Coastal Path and some really lovely walks. Local beaches are dog friendly.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break
This is a great site for all ages, walkers, bikers and even us oldies. We took the bus to Padstow and had a great time. The journey is fun on the bus. If you get the double decker make sure you sit at the top and get the front seat. Helter skelter rides - worth every penny. Paul and Angie are fantastic managers on the site. Nothing too much trouble. Site is clean, tidy and very well run. We will return......
What a gem of a site! Perfectly situated at the top of the hill up from Watergate Bay and within driving distance of Padstow. The site facilities did not disappoint and the personal touches (pictures) in the toilets were a nice addition. The managers have worked hard to ensure that the site is perfect for campers following the harsh winter. We look forward to staying again later in the year. Well done to the managers as their hard work is much appreciated.

We loved it here. Very peaceful and quiet. Not too easy to get to the beach but coastal path and the views are a dream. Toilets were spotless, with lovely hot showers. Nearest beach is Watergate but also easy drive to Newquay and Padstow. We prefer quieter places however and these too are easy to find. Excellent base for the North Cornwall coast.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples
We selected this site partly due to the previous praise for the site managers and this was certainly the case throughout our stay. Paul and Angie are extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and they work tirelessly to make your stay enjoyable. Their local knowledge is excellent and we followed their advice on several occasions! Particularly impressive at this site is the short and easy walk to the South West Coast Path, with easy access to Watergate Bay. Lovely dog friendly beach at Watergate is also lovely. Sunday Carvary at Lanherne Pub(also dog friendly) in Newquay is highly recommended. Anyone interested in photgraphy and sunsets will be love this site. Washblocks extremely clean, endless supply of hot water. A site we will certainly return to again and again!!
Having just purchased our first motorhome & joined the club this was our first visit to a club site. We could not have been made more welcome. Angi & Paul are a lovely couple who just want you to have a good holiday. They were able to help & recommend places to eat & routes to walk. The site was very clean with good facilities & nice touches.(Loved reading the "thought for the day") The managers work very hard & are always available, checking the showers early etc .I hope they get some time off at some point ! It's about a 10min walk down the coastal path to Watergate Bay, which has 3 or 4 lovely places to eat & a stunning beach. Kids felt safe & able to cycle around the site & visit the shop. Although no play area or games room children were welcome. We would love to return & were very impressed. Thank you Paul & Angi for all your hard work.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break
We stayed in May when my wife was "heavy with child" with our two Irish Terriers. This was our second stay at this site. Without a doubt, Paul and Angie are the most wonderful site managers we have ever met. As another reviewer said: they make an ordinary site wonderful. Their contribution to the club should be recognised.
We look forward to returning this year with an addition!

Just come home from a fabulous stay. Even though it was the end of the season and very quiet on the site all facilities were kept very clean and tidy. The wardens were very helpful and friendly will definately return to this site.

This is a great site with very friendly young managers. Their enthusiasm and energy has made this a most welcome site, facilities are clean and in good order, and the site looks lovely. It is in a great location, just 10 minutes walk along the coastal path to Watergate Bay, Jamie's 15 for breakfast is a must! Well done, keep up the good work.
One cannot speak highly enough of the site managers at this site. With a light touch, everything is well organised, thoroughly cleaned and every assistance is given if needed.
The walking direct from the site issuperb and the local bus service, which passes very close by, provides access to numerous places of interest and beauty.
Of course, we will return !
This site is so well cared for, the welcome and assistance is given so readily, the wardens are always busy and their results show but be in no doubt, you the visitor always come first.
The CCC need to replace the chipped shower trays and redo some hardstanding surfaces where the elements and us have taken their toll.
Wardens should be main contenders for the award (if there was one!) for 2012 !!!
Just to reiterate what everyone else has said - this particular pair of managers are very nice, friendly, and efficient. The site is sparkling clean and working well and it's now October and still no evidence that they've had a day off.
Tregurrian is in a brilliant position, just a short walk to the sea and you can hear the surf in the evenings from your 'van. Warning though, you get the full brunt of the Westerly Gales off the ocean. I was camped off season and during a particularly bad set of storms (50mph gusts and hurling rain) and the van was given such a good pummelling that I was having trouble sleeping - if I'd had an awning I would probably have lost it. So come mentally prepared if you intend to camp here in poor weather. But its worth being blown around to have access to that lovely beach/bay and those sunsets. Kudos Tregurrian site.
On arrival the campsite seemed to be very clean and tidy, but unfortunately I did not stay long enough to find out exactly what it was like as i found it was not very welcoming towards dogs and so I cancelled my booking and stayed at another campsite nearby which was a lot more dog friendly. I would suggest this campsite is for adults only !!!

This was our 1st stay at this site. The managers are a credit to C&CC as our welcome was superb. We arrived on the wrong day, a day early and it was not a problem to Angie who put us at ease with her lovely friendly manner. We have stayed at lots of club sites and this young couple are a mile ahead of any other managers we have encountered. They are constantly working and we cant see how they get a day off as there are just the two of them. C&CC should be giving people like this all the support they need. The showers/loos could do with updating re. cracked tiles/showers etc but they are all spotlessly clean. Our stay was lovely and mostly due to the personalities and hard work of the managers. Give them some help/support!!!
Really friendly welcome and an immaculately clean site with spotless facilities. Grounds well maintained and kept despite a pretty wet period just before we arrived. Ground drains pretty quick on the grass pitches. No problem though getting caravan in or out. 100 yards or so to coastal path and lots of places nearby to walk the dogs offsite. Definitely a great place out of season...... Not sure if it would be for us high season.... But then loads of coastal sites and local attractions in Cornwall would not be as great in the peak season as we enjoy off season more
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Peaceful break
An excellent site very well maintained. The managers and assistants were extremely friendly and helpful. A handy base for beach activities and within easy travelling distance to many of the attractions of cornwall. Will have no hesitation visiting this site again in the future.
We stayed at the site early September. The weather was amazing so we spent the majority of our stay out on the Coastal path which is easy access from the site. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Angie and Paul. We've stayed at the site many times before and can clearly see the many improvements that have been made to the facilities this year. All public areas were clean and spotless. The office is bright and welcoming. The site has certainly improved from previous years. We look forward to staying there again next year.
A really modern and well equipped site. Very friendly welcome and lots of assistance and advice about setting up. Facilities are extremely clean and well kept. Everything works as well! The showers were spotless, powerful and always hot - something you really appreciate when camping. Washing up facilities spacious and again spotlessly clean. Staff very helpful - forgot to bring the sleeping compartments and they helped find a local camping shop for spares. Really peaceful and friendly site. Would definitely revisit.
DATE STAYED: August 2012
this site was excellent paul and angie and and the rest of the staff were very friendly and very helpful.Paul went out of his way to help and advice us when the strong winds blow our awning down. The cleanliness of the site is second to none.We would not hesitate to return to tregurrian when we stay in cornwall again.

The new site managers Paul and Angie are doing a great job and were very helpful. They managed to get us a spot next to our son and family which was very convenient for the whole family, especially the grandchildren!
The toliets and showers, although somewhat few in number for the number of campers, were kept very clean and tidy. Also given the rainy summer the site itself was kept mown and as tidy and mud free as was possible in the conditions
The local area has plenty to see and do with Watergate Bay surfing and boarding plus there are easy trips to Newquay, Padstow, the Eden project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, etc, etc.
One word of warning, some of the coastal parking, at places like Fistral Beach, as one example, is run by private companies who will try and charge huge amounts by posting you a bill afterwards, (e.g. £120) if you overstay what you have paid for.by a few minutes.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Active break
We really enjoyed our stay. We received a great welcome and everyone involved in running the site was friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers, despite being few in number, we're kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The site's position close to the coast path and Watergate Bay was a real bonus. Buses from the nearby stop gave good access to Padstow, Newquay and beyond. A big thank you to all concerned for a very enjoyable five days.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
I somewhat reluctantly agreed to my family's wish to have a camping holiday- especially in the wettest summer on record- so am pleased to report that, thanks to the excellent experience of Tregurrian, I am now a happy converted camper! We had a great time- from the moment of booking to extending our stay; Paul & Angie run an excellent site. We enjoyed the walk down & up to Watergate Bay, and there was plenty of advice about local places to see, with extra tips of local knowledge freely given. We're already thinking of next summer's visit; the long drive is worth it.
Just got back from our first experience of a Motorhome holiday so didn't really know what to expect.
Site Managers very helpful which made this a very pleasant and easy experience, Lovely clean and quite site.
You need to be fit to walk back from the beach but its worth it.
Fish and Chips on a Weds and Fri are very good.
Just back from a 2 week stay at Tregurrian and we would like to thank the Managers, Angie and Paul and their assistants Rosemary and Dave for the invaluable help we received from them when we had problems with our awning due to freak winds. They worked tirelessly throughout the day and evening trying to secure all the tents and awnings. Angie also managed to arrange for us to keep our pitch for an extra night after I made a mistake with the booking. They were always on hand for advice and were very friendly and approachable. The toilet blocks were always spotless, in fact the whole site was kept immaculate. The fish and chip van visits every Wednesday and Friday and although a bit pricey they are lovely fish and chips and very convenient! The site is close to the coastal path which leads down to Watergate bay. The scenery is lovely and the beach is dog friendly but so clean you wouldn't know it. We enjoyed a walk along the coastal path to Mawgan Porth followed by a cream tea at the Merrymoor Inn. We also had a couple of meals there which were good value but it does get busy. The site is 4 miles from Newquay and we found it a great base from which to visit all parts of Cornwall. We hope to return next year and are already looking forward to seeing the places we missed. Hopefully we will not be giving Angie and Paul too many problems next time!!
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Groups,Active break,Younger couples
We were booked on the site for 11 nights however we decided to stay an extra night which the lovely site manager angie arranged for us . The site is very well situated for costal walks to newquay and Morgan porth. The costal path to Newquay is very pleasent and easy walking conditions taking you through porth along the beach. The costal path to Morgan porth is not at all suitable for young children we took our 11 and 8 year old along there not realising it would be so unsuitable. We did however find there was a shuttle bus for a small return charge to and from Morgan porth . The site was lovely very peaceful and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly the managers angie an Paul made us feel so welcome as did rosemary and dave the other staff members they all worked so hard to maintain an excellent standard of the faclilties . We have been members of the c&c club for 7 years now and have enjoyed most of our stays but we have to say our stay at tregurrian was very special due to the friendly welcome of the truly lovely people who were running the site. Our girls extremely enjoyed their morning visit to the site shop to collect the newspaper where they were always greeted with a lovely smile and interesting conversation. many many thanks to angie Paul rosemary and dave . The Procter family.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Groups,Active break
We have been to this site many times over the last 20yrs + . Paul & Angie were by far the best managers we have had the pleasure to meet. Lots of advice was forthcoming re: directions for walks & best places to eat. Angie even called & booked for us. We were very concerned however that they had not had a day off at all since they took over & we left on 20th july! 5 months + & no down time together?? We nominate Paul & Angie for the best site &managers 2012. Paul & Sara liverpool
Visited for 10 nights, very well maintained site with spotless toilet and shower facilities. The site wardens never stopped working.
We stayed on a Jumbo Tent Pitch with electric which was excellent for our Vango Samara 600 (incl porch). Location very good for local beaches with short journey times to Newquay and Perranporth.
Site is within walking distance of Watergate Bay, either by a short road walk or via a slightly longer costal path route, however both routes were quite steep and the road a little narrow.
We had a couple of very windy nights during our stay and the site wardens had no problem with our vehicle being parked accross the front of our pitch to protect our tent. Club rules are up held with no kites or footballs in sight, and all dogs including our own were on leads.
This was our first visit to the site, and we would certainly return. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a campsite in this area.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
What a fantastic site! Angie and Paul could not have done more to help us, nothing was ever too much trouble.I understand they are new site managers, and they are certainly the best we have come across within the club yet. The site itself is peaceful and has very clean facilities, which have recently been decorated and refurbished. The area is beautiful - we used Watergate Bay a lot - a 3 minute drive from site (it's near, but down a narrow steep road, not ideal to walk with young children) The council car park can be costly, but if you are staying for a week and visiting a few places it is worth buying a weeks's car parking for £35.00, covering all long term council car parks in Cornawall. 'Fifteen' is a restaurant worth visiting in the Bay - not cheap but very lovely, with phenomenal views! We will definitely be back!
This is a very average camp site made in to an excellent one by the managers Paul and Angie Cartwright. They are what makes the camp site. We had the most awful weather with gales blowing for at least two days. Four people lost awnings including us and I it wasn't for Angie and Paul it would have been 50 times worse. So we thanked them at the time and we thank them again we managed to escape with only a little damage tour awning. The site itself is spotlessly clean nd well manicured, information is readily available as to what and where to go. The Club need to start and do some investment in the hard standing department because this certainly contributed to the damage that people suffered. It is like pegging in to Tarmac and don'be under any misapprehension they are not good enough for using with awnings. They'd don't absorb water. Come on CLUB support two of the best managers you have on your estate. Not only. D Paul and Angie derive better. So do we members who pay our membership and have expensive equipment. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short but would recommend the two hardest working managers I have seen. And no I am not related, but I can't praise them too highly.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Active break,Younger couples
A warm welcome, all the facilities spotless a fantastically managed site,we are regular visitors and there is no reason to change that.
Thanks to all for another great holiday.
Well what a difference new site managers can make! We have been visiting the Tregurrian site at Watergate Bay for the past 20 years and have just returned from a 12 night holiday at the site. Unfortunately over the previous three years we have seen the site decline in it's management, cleanliness and overall standards. To our delight this year we arrived to find Paul and Angie as the new site managers. We received friendly and warm welcome right from the word go (something we and other fellow campers had not experiened over the past three years). A fresh, clean reception / office clearly well organised and functional. Very well maintained and rejuvinated site which was spotlessly clean and maintained on a regular daily basis (several times a day). Paul, Angie and their team have certainly put the heart back into the Tregurrian site. Thankyou for making our holiday an enjoyable one. We will be back next year.
We've been coming to Tregurrian twice a year for the past nine years. We were impressed with the development of the site from our last visit in September 2011. The new Managers, Angie and Paul have made many improvements on the site from the bright airy office/shop, to the well kept grass/flowers, to the spotlessly clean showers and toilet block. The site is certainly a credit to them and to the club. If there were a Manager/Site of the year surely Tregurrain should gain the 'Gold Medal'! It is obvious from other reviews that this site has improved and we highly recommend a stay with Angie and Paul. The site is ideally positioned for Coastal walks and the picturesque harbour town of Padstow is a short drive away. Thanks for a wonderful 16 nights stay and see you again in September.
Just returned from a 10 night stay at this site and what a site it is. First and foremost are the managers Paul & Angie, their tireless commitment to keeping the site spotless has to be commended. Nothing was ever too big or too small for them. They always had a smile and their personal approach was excellent. They have clearly worked hard to get the site to the condition it is in now and it really shows. If there was an award for C&CC managers then Paul & Angie would certainly get our vote. Of all the sites we have stayed at they were by far the nicest, friendliest, hardworking managers we have come across.
Now for the site itself – what a superb location, only ½ mile away from Watergate Bay. Some reviews state that the site if on a cliff top, that’s a bit misleading. It’s actually set quite away back from the cliff (which is actually better). For what is a relatively small site (90 pitches) it never seemed cramped. The site is spilt into two locations, divided by a country lane. A camping field with jumbo pitches and no hook-up and a main field where most of the caravans and a few tents go. Each had its own shower/toilet blocks. We opted for the main field (Pitch 40). The shower/toilet facilities were as is expected, spotless.
Some reviews state that the site isn’t child friendly, we have to disagree. There is no playground, but who needs that when the glorious sandy beach is only 10 minutes away (by walking). There was plenty of room for our 3 year old to ride her bike and have a run around in safety. Paul & Angie certainly came across as child friendly, always ready to stop and chat to our daughter.
We were fortunate that the 10 days we had were fantastic, very sunny and hot, but beware this site is quite exposed and when the wind did pick up (only twice) we got battered.
In short, an excellent location with great facilities, run by outstanding staff. We would definitely recommend this site and will return again, without a doubt.
Exremely helpful on site. We had made an incorrect booking but they managed to reorganise and fit us in for the full 8 day break.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We had a lovely 18 nights on this site, luckily with good weather, the site was a little windy at times but think this was more down to the weather rather than the location of the site. There was a slight problem with the water in the dishwashing area but this was soon sorted out by the site-managers, and having spoken to other guests who had used the site previous years this was a long-standing problem that the new site managers had inherited. My only concern is the location of the site, although it says 0.75 of a mile from Watergate Bay, the walk down the roadway is a little hazzardous with children and we only attempted it once, we tended to take the car drop everything off and the kids and my husband would take the car back to the site and walk down, and walk back to collect it after the visit to the beach. My husband did do the coastal walk to the beach but felt this was not suitable for younger children, ours are 3 and 7. I would recommend the location of the site for touring around the area, as you are only a couple of miles from Newquay and a few miles the other side to Padstow which is stunning. The beaches at Porth and Morwan Porth are well worth a visit and are great with kids, as the sea is very shallow and there is lots of sand. The rock pools are worth a visit at Watergate Bay, as is Jamie Olivers Fifteen Restaurant which has fantastic views over the bay. This site is definately recommended by us.....enjoy it folks. X
Having visited this site last year we were pleased with the changes. The site managers could not be friendlier or more helpful, the site is very clean and tidy. The views of the sea are beautiful. Chip van and strawberry man very good. Well stocked shop, clean showers and toilets. No water problems unlike last year when we had no showers or appologies for 6 days. Well done to Angi and Paul for the changes they have made to make this super site even better.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this friendly and well looked after camp site. Easy access to the beach on foot.
Brilliant site, shower block very clean and there was never a long queue. The site managers were very helpful and even help me put my tent up. I cannot fault this site. You are only a short walk to the coastal path which takes about 10mins to walk to Watergate Beach, but coming back its can be a bit steep espically if you are carrying things. There is a fish and chip van that comes twice a week, its some of the best I have tried but bad news if you are on a diet. The only downside to the site, is there is not a decent pub within walking distance if you fancy a night off from cooking ect.. But Jamie Oliver 15 is right on the beach and the breakfasts are to die for. I cannot wait to return to this site next year with my partner.
Paul and Angie have really made this site like their own; lots of care and attention throughout.
They are the friendliest and most helpful site managers that I have ever met.
Looking forward to stopping with them again next Easter.
Just come back from a 2 week stay at Treggurian. (2 adults 27 one 9 month old & 1 dog)Very clean and tidy site very well looked after by Paul and Angie. The site is in a great location close to beaches & a great base if you want to explore Cornwall. Paul and Angie were always there to help if u needed any advice, wanted to know places to go or eat or just wanted a chat. very friendly & dedicated managers. The family room was handy as we have a 9month little boy who loves the bath, the only downside about it is there is no shower in there for the parent, if there was it would be a perfect room. There is only 1 problem with the site which is the slow tap for filling water container up. We will defiantly be back next year. Hopefully with the same great weather. Thanks for a great stay Ricky, Amy, Joshua & Dennis
The site is immaculate due to the dedication of the new site managers, Paul and Angie who worked tirelessly and the results are fantastic, even helping us to pitch the tent on a wet and windy day. This is our third visit to Treguarrian, we had returned last year due to being close to the surf and local towns rather than the site. This visit has changed our view and we enjoyed lots of relaxing time on the campsite. We will look forward to returning next year to an immaculate, peaceful, happy campsite thanks to Paul and Angie.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Peaceful break
Well, what a week that was! Thoroughly enjoyed our return to Tregurrian this year. Site was in perfect condition, all facilites very clean and in tip top condition. Lovely welcome from Paul and Angi, who really ensured we had everything we needed during our stay (Thankyou!). Our weather was glorious which made for some stunning evening sunsets over the Atlanic horizon. Watergate Bay beach, along with facilities is only 10-15min walk away. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing break. Highly recommended!!
Tregurrian is a joy to stay at, hardworking Paul & Angie always have a smile on their faces & it appears boundless energy giving a friendly welcome to all. Views from both fields are brilliant, Newquay Bay from 1 field & Atlantic coast from 2nd field. We were a group of single campers from Phoenix Camping Club & had a great time. Walk down to Watergate Bay is easy (quite steep on return but there is an hourly bus if you don't fancy the climb) Padstow or Newquay within easy reach by bus. & you won't be disappointed by the organic strawberries delivered to site twice weeekly!!!
We stayed at this site for 4 nights and as a novice caravaner had a wonderful time. Paul and Angie could not have been more helpful with the couple of problems we had at the beginning. This site was keep clean and tidy and the cleanliness of the facilities were surperb. Would recommend this site to anyone who wants a relaxing and frienly holiday!!! Thanks once again Paul and Angie.
SUITABLE FOR: Peaceful break
After 4 hours of travelling what a delight it was to be greeted by an enthusiastic couple Paul and Angie
The site was immaculately presented it was a credit to them and to the club
The whole 10 days of our visit they did not stop, 6 in the morning til 23-30 at night. With no assistance at all
While in the area we called in to Sennon Cove site, again immaculately turned out a credit to the team.
The 2 site assistants Keith and Simon also had the same great enthusiasm. but mentioned the training given by Pauline and Dave was invaluable which enabled them to do there job in a more relaxed manner and stand them in good stead for the future
This is proof correct training and assistance must be a priority to ensure the sites and the Clubs future.
Thankyou again Paul and Angie, your efforts were noticed and appreciated not only by us.It felt like you cared, and not just another caravan coming in to be dealt with. And all without assistance. Please make sure that next year Paul and Angie stay where they are to enable them to build on the fantastic effort and success put in this year.
A fantastic site which is very close to the coast is also sufficiently inland to be rural as well. The site also has easy access by car to Newquay if you need a towns facilities eg supermarkets. Despite the persistent rain during our stay there was no chance of flooding as the site is on the hill above Watergate Bay. Staff were very helpful and even assisted with pitching our tent as it was very windy. Site is also a very good base for water/beach activities, walkers, cyclists and runners. We would recommend visits to Carnewas and the Bedruthan Steps, St Eval Candle Shop, St Micheals Mount and St Mawgan village with its Falcon Inn. We are in no doubt we would return to Tregurrian having first visited three years ago.
We have just had16 nights at our favourite site, this was our 17th visit. The changes were apparent from the moment we entered the office, the nice bright and clean appearance was a definite improvement. But the biggest asset this site has acquired are the new site managers Angie and Paul. What an advert for the 'friendly club' they are, nothing was too much trouble, they were available all day long every day, always cheerful and approachable, despite not having had a day off since March! The site was a credit to Paul's hard work, the grass was immaculate and the pitches well marked out despite the recent awful weather. We hope they stay for a long time as we will definitely be returning!
will return just needs a little more dog control to be perfect
SUITABLE FOR: Active break
Fabulous site, just a few minutes walk from the stunningly beautiful SW Coastal path - about 15 minutes to Watergate Bay or an hour the other way to Mawgan Porth. A friendly, well-run site that is kept immaculate by hard-working Paul and Angie. Friendly sites seem to encourage friendly campers - and just about everyone here had a smile or exchanged a few words. It helped that the sun was shining, but we'd be happy here even in the wet. Dog-friendly, too: our pup loved the cliff walks and running and rolling on the wide and extensive Watergate Bay beach at low tide. A local farmer came around with some gorgeous just-picked strawberries on Saturday morning, and there is a fish & chips van on Wed and Fri. Enjoyed a nice pint of St Austell at the Phoenix in Watergate after a surf. All in all, a great stop: we'll definitely return.
This is our 5th year at Tregurrian and there is a vast improvement since our visit last year. Everything looks more open and the grass is well kept. The office is bright, light and welcoming. Angie and Paul could not do enough for you, they never stop! I spotted Paul checking the loos very late at night and Angie checking them very early in the morning (before 6am!!!). Talk about dedication. Yes at times the weather was appalling but this never dampened the enthusiasm of these two hardworking managers. The bus stop at Tregurrian triangle is handy for us as we can use our bus passes to avoid the long walk up the hill from the beach. We look forward to our next visit but would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay this year. Thank you.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Younger couples
Had a wonderful stay! Had a warm welcome on arrival and throughout. The facilities were immaculate at anytime of the day you went in, as they looked like they had just been cleaned. The site is well located with so much to do on your doorstep. What would make it even better is the introduction of a dog walk on site. A perfect stay and can't wait to plan our next visit.
HAVING JUST SPENT 10 DAYS AT THIS SITE.WE FOUND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR US.LOVELY AREA,PLENTY TO DO AND SEE.AND WILL CERTANTLY RETURN AT A LATER DATE.ALL AMENITIES WERE SPOTLESS
Tregurrian is our favourite site - we first camped here nearly 30 years ago as a couple, later with our children and now as an older couple. We were most impressed this year with the friendliness and helpfulness of the site managers, Angie and Paul and totally agree with what has been said in other reviews. They take great pride in the site and do their utmost to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay, whatever the weather. Even though we now know the area well, we were very impressed to see all the local information they have collected and presented on the notice boards. Well done for making our favourite site even better.
We recently stayed for 6 nights. We found the whole stay to be relaxing, and rejuvenating. The facilities are excellent-the toilet block was immaculate, with constant hot water and powerful showers. We love Watergate Bay being so close and we were able to take our kayaks down to The Bay to enjoy the surf! Having a shower on site also enabled us to wash our wet suits off each day. The local pubs and restaurants are superb and very good value for money. The information board is extremely informative, and nicely presented. The site wardens, especially Angie and Paul were brilliant, very welcoming, knowledgable, and helpful especially as we were initially having difficulty with setting our TV aerial up ready to watch the Wimbledon Final!!We love it so much we have booked another stay in August!
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
We had only a feww days here and found everything excellent except the weather. It wasn't that bad as it didn't stop us doing all we wanted but we had to leave the coastal path for another visit because we were advised it could be slippery. There is an excellent bus service from by the site and plenty to visit and do. Angie and Paul could not have been more helpful, kind, and welcoming. It was quiet, clean, and friendly site, just what we were looking for. We do not go back to many sites but we will certainly be revisiting terrific Tregurrian.
DATE STAYED: June 2012
I have been to Tregurrian many times, firstly in a tent and for the last 6/7 years in my caravan. Angie and Paul run the site to an amazing standard whilst being helpful, friendly and very professional-a credit to the club.
Nothing is too much trouble and one night, in atrocious weather, they even did a site tour during the night to see if anyone was in trouble.
Excellent holiday site managers.
Fantastic campsite run by hardworking and very thoughtful people. Angie & Paul have done a tremendous job and made you feel so welcome. Nothing asked was too much trouble. We had a brilliant time. It is a great location if you want to surf, walk, and (or) go touring. There are places to eat a mile away (within easy walking distance). We will definitely go back.
The weather was not in our favour; the rain and winds did not cease. After four days of continual battering, one gush took the tent down but the amazing Paul and Angie came to our rescue. Paul trying to straighten the tent poles while Angie rang round trying to find us alternative accommodation! Despite being hardy campers the Cornish weather got the better of us and we gave in, but Paul and Angie were SO VERY helpful in every respect. Sorry we didn't stay long, but we will return. THANK YOU for everything. We can't speak highly enough of them. Now home and dry!
We had and absolutely awful time travelling to the campsite, torrential rain for the two day trip and the suspension breaking on the car, what we needed was a nice relaxing family holiday and that is exactly what we got.
As most other reviewers have said the owners are the friendliest and approachable I have ever met and couldn’t do enough for you. Despite the very heavy rain that had been falling the ground was not waterlogged and well drained. The weather was better than expected so we were able to look around the nearby area.
Watergate bay is (for me) the best beach in the UK and is only a couple of minutes drive away. The walk to the beach wouldn’t be advised if carrying buckets and spades/surfing kit but we were well aware of this as I always look on Google street view at anywhere I am planning on going.
The site was clean, friendly and accommodating. My kids loved the fact that there were ‘bunny wabbits’ around the edge of the field and puddles to stamp through. The shop has everything you need and if there are any other problems the staff are there to help. My father in-laws break away cable snapped when moving the caravan and within 30 mins the manager had rung a local supplier and reserved one for him. When it arrived he helped fit it.
The only improvement I would make is for there to be more than two toilet stalls in the gents on the main site.
Overall a VERY nice place to stay.
Fantastic welcome, really felt at home from the start. When we needed help from the managers it was always there with a smile - despite the poor weather we had on the day. Lovely beaches all around us, particularly at Perranporth and Carnewas. Best cream tea in the area was at Carnewas too. Visited Healeys Cider Farm - very good and the Eden Project was easily accessible [about 15 miles from site]. Plenty to do in the area, site is ideally located. We would not hesitate to return to the site thanks in the main to the fantastic staff.
Just returned from a 12 day break, had a great time,Angie & Paul could not have been more helpful, the site and amenities were excellent in every way.Great site for walking, surfing or just relaxing.
We visited this site around 3 years ago and the transformation was instantly noticeable. Cleaner, tidier and well manicured pitches in spite of the recent weather. We cannot speak highly enough about Paul and Angie and their respective dedication to the cause, whether it's in the form of site presentation and servicing, physical help, assistance or guidance for campers, or just being good company when you stop for a chat. We've never felt more welcome at a campsite!
Our friends and us stayed for 6 nights, both of us in Motorhomes. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, particularly Angi, as I had left my dressing gown in the showers on my last day before travelling on to Dartmouth. I telephoned and Angi sent my dressing gown onto me which was received the very next day. Thanks. The site was also very, very clean with good facilities. The fish and chip van is well worth using. Buses are only 10 mins walk away and the coastal walks are supurb. Would recommend the site to all.
This is the best site we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed at many!! The site attendants were extreemly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were immaculately kept, shower block always warm and the little shop is well stocked too. It was the perfect base four our holiday. Sooo much to do in the area that we just had to book up again for August, can't wait to get back!!! Thanks
I have been staying on this site for the past 23 years and can honestly say that Angie & Paul are the best site managers here yet. They are very approachable, nothing is too much trouble for them and they certainly give the well being of all the campers top priority. During some horrendous weather they were available at all times to help those in distress, always with a sympathetic and cheery smile. The condition of the site and facilities is certainly a credit to them.
Lovely friendly managers and staff, facilities were spotless, only 1 small point - could do with a few more hard standing pitches, grass is lovely but when it's been raining as much as this year a 2 ton motor home sinks a bit! Location is great for walking to the coast or days out, lots to do in the area. Will be back and would recommend to others.
Angie's telephone manner is excellent. We were afraid of arriving late (we were in desperate need a "jump" at the Lost Garden and fortunately got one) so called to explain our dilemma, and Angie made it clear our tardiness was no problem. That took the edge off our worries, to say the least. We were going to stay for one night but made it two, needing a break from the road in a friendly, beautiful location. We've enjoyed many CCC campsites and found all managers to be helpful and friendly. However, Angie and Paul are "top drawer."
If this is the friendly club - this must be the friendly site. Can confirm other reviews. Without over repeating what has already been said the staff are brilliant, always friendly and totally professional couldn't praise them enough. We were there the second week of gales (were told not as bad as the first week)in a new tent and they gave me the confidence to sit it out. Was so glad we did as we were rewarded with a couple of good days. Watergate Bay is magic and our two dogs loved it. Will look forward to re-visiting next time we visit Cornwall but preferably without the gales!
A lovely peaceful site in a great location. You can walk to the beach (Watergate bay)in around 10 minutes and there is a nice beach cafe as well as good food at the watergate Bay Hotel and at Jamie Olivers restaurant 15. You can also walk into Newquay along the coastal path.
Nice site, stayed for 7 days. Friendly and helpful wardens, easy to get to the coastal path with great walks both ways. Facilities would only have been four stars if they had not upgraded the WIFI signal strength whilst we were there.
The Wardens Paul and Angie couldnt have been more friendly and helpful and the site is a credit to them and their team-Fantastic location near to Watergate beach which is a mecca for surfers and boarders alike- the site also provides great views of the cornish coastline.
We had to leave two nights early because the stormy weather was proving too testing for our little camper van and awning. Paul and Angie were so helpful from the start- advising us on how to position the awning, which was a new addition for us. Whilst we were out (in Newquay getting drenched!) they pinned down the awning, and when at 10pm we decided to take the awning down to save it flying away in the night, they were there to help and stored it in their garage overnight. A truly immaculate site with great site managers. Stay there- hope you get better weather!
Only stayed for 2 nights but very much enjoyed. All staff very friendly and helpful with a warm welcome. Site very well kept, we were much taken with the animal lawn mowers (baby bunnies!) highly recommended and hope to return at some time.
Just had a great 2 weeks stay here. Site location peacefull and great views.
Staff exerlent , Im a little disabled and was offered lots of help which was grea tbut I manage myself. Went fishing from Newquay and caught Ling and mackeral and a Tope (shark) over 20lb.
Nearby St Mawgan loverly village with a great pub ,Falcon, good food and beer and really great Cornish Pasties from the shop. In all a great location , even broke a world recored , most people wearing Crowns across the whole club network. Well orth a visit thanks Paul.
On our recent visit to Tregurrian, “wow†what a surprise the entrance was so neat and tidy, wonderful flowers and a friendly smile, what a change! After seeing the campsite deteriorate year on year to seeing everywhere looking so clean, neat and tidy and the polite and helpful attitude of Angi and Paul nothing too much trouble for them, brilliant! All we can say as regular visitors to Tregurrian is what an asset Angi and Paul are to the campsite, absolutely fantastic 5*.
Our 9th (ish) stay at this lovely site. Close to the beach (a big hill to climb though). We can recommend late afternoon / early evening visits to the beach as its quieter and the sunsets are beautiful. Paul, Angi & Marrion are extremely hard working whilst at the same time remaining very approachable & friendly, with a great sense of humour (even during the worst storm we have ever experienced!)
They have already made their mark on the site, the facilities are very clean, even when the site is full. Definitely our best stay to date, despite a few days of windy weather. We'll definitely be back next year and hope to see the team again.
We enjoyed our stay. Lovely location close to coast path and beaches. A warm welcome and facilities good / clean etc. Our stay coincided with the Jubilee bank holiday, our children enjoyed helping set the crown wearing record! The weather turned very wet and windy (gales) causing damange to some tents; we much appreciated warden support to help secure my sister's tent which otherwise would have likely blown away! - Thanks for a lovely week. Would definately consider return visit.
The staff here were really helpful starting with a phone call to them the week before arrival. Having had trouble getting pitched near freinds before Paul, Angi and Marrion were only to happy to help. All questions we had were answered with real knowledge. During really bad weather, gale force winds it was great to see the site staff out at all hours of the day and night helping families to take down tents. The site is in a great location for visiting lots of wonderful beaches and easy to access routes to all attactions. I would not nessitate to return to this site in a flash and I will be telling all friends to visit them in the future. Thank you for a wonderful week.
Thanks Angi & Paul for a great week. Such a friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. They constantly have the best interests of their guests at heart, with Paul asking us to park our Luton Van next to a trailer tent to protect it from the storm. Everything was spotlessly clean, no matter what time of day. We would definately stay again. We were exhibiting at the Royal Cornwall Show, and the site was within easy reach of the showground at Wadebridge. Thanks guys
Just had a fantastic time; during the Jubilee celebrations, but sadly due to the wind had to cut short our stay. Such a helpful, dedicated couple, Angi and Paul, during our hour of need; taking down our trusty frame tent in such adverse conditions. They couldn't do enough to ensure a happy stay, but alas they couldn't help with the weather! A super location for great beaches (Watergate Bay and our favourite Lusty Glaze). A personal thankyou to Angi and Paul.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
Having just come back from our shortened holiday due to high winds, rain and a very broken tent.I would like to thank the site management, they were brilliant, very kind and helpful. This site is a great place to camp.Plenty to do in the area.Padstow isnt far away great for crabing and the pasties. We didnt hire bikes,as the weather was against us.The camel trail is on the flat,so good for all.If you like surfing, the beaches were great,RNLI are on hand if you get in a bit of trouble.Same about the weather, but we would go back to this site again.
We have just enjoyed a Jubilee break at Tregurrian. We thoroughly enjoyed our break here. We asked if possible to be pitched next to friends and Angie was able to accomodate us. We received a very friendly reception, much appreciated after a 10 hour journey. The facilities are spotless and the site well kept. The Jubilee crown hunt for the children was a lovely idea. The site is exposed to the elements(it's right on the coast),we had to cut short our trip due to the very high winds on Thursday damaging our tent, however we will definately return. I have stayed on many club sites over the years and can honestly say the welcome and service we received was one of the best!
A very warm welcome and equally a warm goodbye. We stayed only 2 nights of our 8 due to the terrible winds. The wardens patrolled the site during the night to ensure their visitors hadn't been blown away, and to warn them should they be about to!We lost the battle with the wind during the night and left at 7 with smiles from the wardens and promised to return as soon as we could. We were refunded even before we got home and had chance to ask, so many thanks for that. A terrific site, with flat pitches, immaculate facilities, flowering shrub hedges, great views and spitting distance from Watergate Bay where you can surf, and its dog-friendly too, home also to Jamie Olivers 'Fifteen'(we couldn't go as no Dogs, but the Phoenix across the coastal road is very dog friendly and has great views across the bay too)There is so much we wanted to do - we cannot wait to go back
The whole site was kept very neat and tidy and the toilets, showers etc were spotless.
The facilities were simple (basics plus small shop)but included everything necessary.
Angi and Paul were a first-class team. They gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and remained friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The cliff path is very close and it is easy to walk down to Watergate Bay (superb sand and good eating) and is within easy reach of Padstow and not too far from the Eden Project.
Just spent the Jubilee weekend at what can only be described as a 'diamond' of a site. Angie and Paul worked non-stop to ensure that the site looked perfect for the world record attempt. Look forward to seeing the pics in the local paper. The site is looking amazing and this is all down to the hard work of Angie and Paul. We are travelling around the south coast and look forward to staying there again on our travels.
Just spent a fantastic Jubilee Weekend here. This is not our first visit to this site and it didn't disappoint. I would recommend a stay to anyone wishing receive a friendly welcome and stay on a clean well positioned site.
Going back later in the Summer.
Site run by a very enthusiatic and helpful couple.
Toilet blocks immaculate
Very close indeed to the SW coastal path and easy to walk to Watergate Bay. Porth and Newquay etc.
An hourly bus service to Padstow and Newquay leave from the site entrance which is a huge bonus for motorhome users.
We have just spent a very happy few days here. Cannot fault the site at all, just a shame the weather wasn't kinder. Angie & Paul are the most welcoming & helpful managers we have met. The site is spotlessly clean and incredibly well maintained thanks to their hard work. Shower/toilet block was always very clean. Lovely hot, powerful showers(alternative shower available on request as showers quite hot for small children).Great selection of produce in the small shop, as well as camping basics like additional tent pegs. Great location near the beautiful Cornwall coast with its stunning beaches.Easily accessed, no tricky Cornish lanes. Angie & Paul, thanks again for a great stay and looking after us so well. See you again!
well where do one start, I have never seen two people graft so must on a camp site. When we where out of our caravan and they past us there was a good morning or afternoon. A problem with the water suppy and they went around tell us all that the water was not on. Then when the water came back on, they when around us all again. I am happy to recommend this site with your team up there this year. Can not wait till November to book to go back next year (2013). We did have bad weather the 14 days while we where there but we still had a good time. These two help us have a better time, and if the weather was good we would have a great time. Thank you for two weeks holiday.
We had a great time at Tregurrian which is a lovely campsite. The site managers Paul & Angie made us feel welcome and are very knowledgable about the local area. The facilities are very clean and tidy with a small shop selling a good range of items. Watergate Bay is only 3/4 of a mile down the road and is a very nice beach. We will definately return to this site in the future.
Just a note to say that if you are camping, as the site is coastal then it can be quite windy at times. Tent users ask for a sheltered spot.
This was our third year of staying at this site.
This year new managers had taken over and were doing an excellent job. They had freshened up the facilities (up late painting) and had added little touches (flowers in reception, tubs planted outside, thought for the day on a board) as well as being approachable and friendly.
The site is excellent for coastal walks and a bus service is easily accessed, just a short walk from the camp.
It is also easy to travel by car to both north and south areas of this part of Cornwall.
Thank you for making this a great holiday.
Very welcoming, spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water, sea views from some pitches, short stroll to coastal path, hourly bus to Newquay or Padstow. I could continue loading the praise on for this lovely site, but why not just go & see for yourself. You'll enjoy your stay.
Angie & Paul are brilliant folk. I foolishly tried to take my VW campervan under a 2.4m carpark barrier one wet and windy Sunday in April, taking off my dome and TV aerial. I dispiritedly went back to the campsite at 1.30pm with all the broken bits & pieces. Within short order, these two wonderful people had gaffer-taped and waterproofed everything, found me a caravan spares outlet which had the right spare parts and a caravan engineer who arrived at 9am on the Monday. By 10.30 I was up and running again.
Angie & Paul truly represent what "The Friendly Club" is all about. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart.
Sue & Mikki
DATE STAYED: April 2012
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Active break
We have just come back from a most enjoyable few days at Tregurrian,we go there nearly every year and this was probably the best we have seen the camp, due to the hard work and dedication of the managers Angie and Paul. They were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.Angie and Paul were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. On the monday night we were there it was very rough and the next morning Paul told us he looked out in the early hours to make sure our awning was ok,being elderly this meant a lot to us.We hope to go back later in the year as we had such a good time
Although the access isn't the greatest, we found the site to be pleasant with wonderful views and sunsets...that is until we had two horrible storms with very high winds. Unfortunately our awning was blown down, and we had to pack it up at 2am in the storm. Paul and Angi were wonderful, not only did they patrol the site in the storms at 3am, they gave us every help possible. They are so friendly and work tirelessly to maintain the site. We first met them at Barnard Castle (Barney as they called it)and they really made our holiday there too.
I'm not sure if there is an award for the friendliest site managers, but Paul and Angi are up there at the top.
Hi we arrived after a long journey to be met by a welcoming smile, we could choose the pitch that we would like, we have stayed at the site on many occasions but have never seen it so well kept it was spotless. Paul and Angi never stopped working hard to keep the site at tip top standard and always had a smile. Also met us when we were leaving to wish us a safe journey home. Thank you Paul & Angi.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
what a wonderful couple Paul and Angie are! My stay at Tregurrian was during a particularly bad spell of weather with hail storms and high winds. I arrived back in camp after a wet walk absolutely drenched and not looking forward to crawling into my tent and lighting the not very reliable stove. I was greeted with "Would you like a cuppa?" Yes please! That night the wind reached over 50 mph, enough to blow my tent away, but Paul checked during the night to see if I was still there. And the next day he kindly helped me to strike camp which I could not have done on my own due to the howling gale. Thank you very much Paul and Angie for looking after me so well. I am extremely grateful for all your help.
My husband and I have visited this site many times now and the new owners Paul and Angi, could not have been more helpful and friendly. Definitely an improvement on our past visits, although we have always loved the site. I was there celebrating my 60th birthday with friends and apart from the weather it was perfect. Thank you Paul and Angi. We will be back at the end of May.
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Active break
We were booked onto this site for 6 nights at the beginning of May as part of a 3 week honeymoon. We were due to stay in St. Ives before we went to Newquay but when we got to St.Ives we didn't like the site. We rang Tregurrian and asked if we could come to the site earlier and they were very accommodating. In total we stayed for 10 nights, longer than originally planned but we liked the site a lot. It is very well placed for travelling to Newquay, Padstow, Crantock bay etc. and we had a lovely time on our honeymoon. Paul and Angie are a lovely couple, we had a nice time talking to them about the site and overall the atmosphere on the site was peaceful and relaxed. The facilities are very clean and the showers are amazing. We will definitely go there in the future and recommend to our friends. Thank you for both for an enjoyable stay xx
Just returned from a 3 night break here and had a really lovely time. A peaceful setting with lovely pitches, high standard shower and toilet facilities. Angi and Paul are wonderful hosts and obviously love what they do. They are welcoming and very helpful. We will definitely be returning. Thankyou !
We spent nearly 3 weeks here and the weather was, for the most part, awful but we had a great time walking the coast path, visiting the local coves, villages and towns. We were made welcome and the site managers kept an eye on things when we were out and the gales blew! An ideal spot for exploring the delights of all of Cornwall. Nowhere is too far for a day out.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break,Younger couples
What an amazing time! We came here for a few nights to relax following our wedding in st Agnes. Every moment was perfect. The site is perfect, spotless clean, peaceful, relaxing, amazing setting, easy walks into watergate bay (we had a wonderful few nights out in watergate bay particularly at fifteen). Office selling all we needed on the provision front, information re buses and surrounding area all easy sought. All this is down to the wardens angie and Paul who clearly have total commitment, professionalism and a genuine desire to do an excellent job. Thanks so much to both of you for going out of your way to ensure our honeymoon was perfect. Clive & Jus
Having arrived at the site after a long journey down from the midlands, Paul and Angie greeted us with a smile and were very helpful in getting us booked in and sited on the pitch. We unfortunatly had several problems with our awning due to the high winds, this was a particularly bad weekend all over the UK. Paul & Angie were on hand to assist us, even at 06.30am one morning. They are a very helpfull and friendly couple, It was early season and they were the only wardens on site as their assistants hadn’t yet arrived.
All this on top of their normal daytime duties, what a couple! Paul & Angi are a really great team and a real credit to the club. Hospitality above and beyond their duties!
Our heartfelt thanks to them both and we wish them a very successful season.
Tony & Tracey Bradley.
What a lovely couple Angie & Paul Cartwright(the HSMs)are; always cheerful and helpful and very hard working. The facilities are spotless and the site neat and well tended. Thank you for a relaxing stay - we don't hold the weather against you!!
staff very friendly and helpful. Site and facilities clean. will stay there again and would reccommend to all.
we would like to thank paul/angi for thier total consideration while we stayed on their site we will go again as we know that like every body else will always be made very welcome thank you mr and mrs bonning
An excellent site. Stunning views and easily accessible for the coastal path with lovely walks down to Watergate Bay. The site managers, Paul and Angie, are really friendly and helpful. The facilities are spotlessly clean and an on site shop is really useful. A great site for families. Our children loved the beach. Bus stop nearby with routes to Newquay and Padstow which was great as we didn't have to drive anywhere during our four night stay.
From the moment we arrived the wardens could not have been anymore helpful, they helped with bus timetables even to the point of calling the bus station to confirm buses run on easter sunday. Overall a pleasant site with very helpful wardens and the surroundings were beautiful, coastal walk were out of this world.
I stayed over the Easter period, and found the site to be surprisingly quiet.
The Wardens, Paul and Angi were new to the site, and spent a lot of time enthusiastically gardening and improving the site. I was made to feel very welcome. The site is a short relatively flat walk to the coastal path. A walk to Bedruthan steps along the coastal path took me an enjoyable 90 minutes, and the same to return. An enjoyable holiday.
A big thank you to the wardens Paul and Angie for rescuing my stay at the site after my Khyam Tent flipped in the wind when I was pitching it and locked itself inside out.
After a lot of head scratching it was decided to dismantle and reassemble the tent. It took an enormous amount of patience but we dismantled it and reassembled which enabled a very enjoyable stay.
This was all done with humour from Paul and Angie.
In sight of the sea, bright April sunshine excellent facilities, this is what camping and caravanning is all about.
This site is excellent, it is level and the facilities are kept immaculate.
The site is surrounded by numerous beautiful places to visit within a very short distance but best of all are the people Paul and Angi go out of their way to make you welcolme with local restaurant recommendations and much more local imformation. This site realy should be experiened. We will definetley be going back.
It is level with some shelter from the prevailing winds. The toilet block is spotless and unlike some C & C blocks heated. Powerful showers. The Wardens ( Mr & Mrs Cartwright) have a welcoming attitude and on our stay chose where to put people to allow space rather than allow the herd instinct to happen ie. Where you have 100 pitches, you camp on one and the next member pitches next to you.......Baaa.
Perfectly placed for Newquay, Port Isaacc and Padstow.
TRY IT........Have fun and remember " RUSH SLOWLY "
My wife and I have been visiting the site now for a number of years - and following our latest visit over the Easter Bank Holiday I can safely say it is back to its best. The site has new managers and their welcome was both friendly and helpful. The sites ease of access to Watergate Bay, the Cornwall coastal path and all the coves and beaches from Padstow southwards is second to none.
All our needs were met with a smile and great access to local buses and the coastal path. Could improve wi-fi signal to cover more of the site.
What a welcome. We arrived after 8pm with no prior booking but this wasn't an issue to the lady manager who came out to see us when we pulled up. We only stayed the night as were passing through but hopefully will stay a little longer next time. This is a delightful little gem of a site. It was handy the shop was fully stocked for our late arrival too. Our thanks to the couple who managed this site. We were impressed.
We stayed at the site a few times in 2011 and found the site very good , the facilities were excellent and clean. Access to Watergate Beach is down a steep hill with no pavement.
DATE STAYED: August 2011
Have just returned from 23 nights at Tegurrian (Sept/Oct 2011). The wardens as ever were very welcoming and greeted us with a nice smile. We was pitched at the bottom of the field looking out to the sea, which is ideal as having 3 dogs between two units meant we didn't disturb anyone. The site is close to the cliff path and the walk to Watergate bay is easy, but a bit of a pull back up, but an ice cream from the shop is welcoming. The facilities on the site are very clean, nice and warm and the shop is stocked with essential provisions. Highly recommend the Fish n Chips at Friar Tucks at St Merryn. Definitely be back again next year, as it feels like going home.
DATE STAYED: October 2011
SUITABLE FOR: Families,Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
It was our first camping trip to Cornwall, and the first as CCC members. The site was very peaceful, a little exposed but had sheltered pitches available.
The facilities block was heated, clean and above standard.
The location was away from the hustle and bustle of Newquay town centre (which is what we wanted) and was ideal for nipping up and down the coast to take in the sites and coastal walks.
The atmosphere during our 2 night stay with the managers and other members was very relaxed and friendly
We highly recommend this campsite for it's peaceful location, relaxed atmosphere and sea views.
What a great site, easy walking distance to fantastic beach, with great cafe/restaurant, or the coastal footpath for those wanting some exercise.
Very clean with super showers, ok they were the dreaded push to spray type but only a minor inconvenience.
Great reception, very helpful and knowledgable.
All in all highly recommended but I would think it could all get very crowded in the high season especially with another commercial site next door but the beach is massive.
DATE STAYED: September 2011
We really enjoyed the friendliness of this site, and the warm welcome.Site was kept very clean & tidy.Great base for walking & only a five minute walk to the beach for some really good surfing. We had two 16yr olds with us who didn,t get bored at all.Just a short walk to the local bus stop where you can catch a bus to Newquay (they also allow dogs on)or if you are quite active you could walk along the coastal path.Fish n Chip van calls on Wednesday,s which is good, also some of the take aways in Newquay will deliver to the site.Had a really good week here and would definately use again.
This was out very first site visit as new members of the CACC. We have camped for years both on large sites, farm sites, at music festivals and wild camping. We were made extremely welcome, like part of the family. We couldn't believe the size of the pitch and were pleased with not having to pay additional for every piece of kit outside the tent (windbreak, gazebo) like with most sites these days. We only spent 3 nights as we were at the Boardmasters festival for most of the time but every minute on the site was great. Lovely people, safe, secure, clean....and the best showers ever. Friendly cleaning staff and the nicest 'it's 12 pm now' we could have received for being 30 minutes late leaving our pitch on the Sunday, with mild hangovers! Will use this site again and recommend to others. Thanks Tregurrian, you have a great site.
This was my first CCC site as a member (came over from the other side) and as expected the facilities were excellent, and essential purchases were all available.
My only moan would be quite a number of the pitches were a bit snug if you had a caravan / awning / car; this left very little space left to sit out without being on top of next door's car. This in turn did impact on some campers (2 small tents) who found next door seated out in their parking space on return one day - They could not park the other side either due to proximity to neighbours !
We booked 3 nights stnd but were able to have 2 nights electric on arrival with no fuss - wardens very helpful. On changing to our std pitch for the third night we were allocated a nice spot only to find when we returned from the beach at the end of the day it had been allocated again to another motorhome !
It wasn't a problem we simply parked on the one next door which was empty, but if busy could have been a tad embarrassing if none left - whoops.
One suggestion would be that the motorhome service point be a drive over with the grey water drain in the middle with the surrounding concrete sloping inwards on all sides. This saves a lot hassle trying to line your waste pipe up over the drain which then stopped you opening the lid.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, also they were very knowledgeable regarding the activities and amenities in the area. As for the shop, this was well stocked with bread, milk, delicious ice-creams and all the usual necessities needed for a camping holiday. Must mention the Fish & Chip van on a Wednesday night (a most welcome addition) and the local strawberries (when in season). A very quiet site situated away from the hustle and bustle of Newquay town and within easy reach of several of Cornwall's attractions. We will certainly visit again.

This was our first visit to Cornwall and what a wonderful first impression it was. The welcome was very friendly and information pack on local activities was very comprehensive. The site and its amenities were very clean. Watergate Bay was just a few minutes walk down the costal path. It is a windy site but this is to be expected at any costal location. The only slight criticism is that there were not enough toilets to go round. But this should not deter you from staying here. Highly recommended

we found the bus service just down the road from the site very useful. the site was clean and well tended. the downside was the wind, it never stopped blowing for the whole thirteen days we were there, it just abaited or got worse and i do mean worse. also in the list of facilities wfi was listed so we took our laptop, only to be told the reception wasnt very good and all i would be able to access was my email. not a lot of use. if reception is that poor it should not be advertised as a facility. if you dont mind the wind blowing all the time then i would recommend this site.
Really helpful & friendly welcome, and information on arrival and during our stay comprehensive. Facilities were spotless, but yes at high season probably a bit cramped.
Watergate Bay, Bedruan Steps just a magic walk away along coastal path - and the climb down cliff paths to idyllic beaches and surf worth every puff! Newquay 5 minutes away but could be 500 miles; Padstow and its food 20 minutes. We will be back.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Groups,Active break,Peaceful break
The site location was fantastic and easy to access. A short walk to Watergate bay and to join the south east costal path. But this is where the positives have to stop. The welcome was realtive warm and a good info pack on the local area handed over (very family orientated). But really the club is missing a trick the shop supplies limited, no fresh bread, pasties or clotted cream a real missed opportunity. No induction water, waste laundry location completely missed. The real disappointed was that all the units where crammed into one area of the site. It has been dry and the two fields which have electric hook up where unused, but we had to all endure a touch of the sardines. In the high of season you expect this. But at Easter it would not have damage the site due to the dry weather to allow everyone a little space. Its the difference between shall we go again or not. We where not the only one's to think this a little strange. The reply when asked why was well in two days site will be empty. I wonder why ! A tad lacking on the customer satisfaction front. As I said a fantastic site but so may missed opportunities to get a major thumbs up...

The site was lovely and clean. The staff are very helpful. Our stay was great, plenty of room on your pitch with fantastic views and coastal walks. only 4 miles from Newquay it is an ideal site to just relax yet close to beach and Newquay only 4 miles away. Would recommend to anyone.

We chose this site because it is described as 3/4 mile from the Watergate Bay surfing beach and our 15 year old son enjoys surfing. We thought the distance would not be too far for him to walk carrying his surf board. In fact the route is down narrow steep, winding, country lanes busy with vehicular traffic and we considered it to be too dangerous for him to walk down with all his kit. The safer coastal footpath (a longer route) is impractical for carrying surfing gear as it narrows considerably. I feel that simply describing the beach as 3/4 mile away without any reference to the difficulties and dangers of the route could be viewed as disingenuous.
My other gripe is the toilet block which had four hand basins, three showers, two urinals and only two toilet stalls. I can wait and queue for a shower and for a wash basin but there are times when I really don’t want to queue for the toilet. There is another toilet block across the road serving the second site but that's hardly the point and it’s not exactly nearby.
