Great week spent at Tregurrian. Rather windy at times, however you are near the North Cornish Coast line and some wind will be expected.
Wonderful walks from site to the coastal path, either to Watergate Bay and beyond or to Mawgan Porth and North. Beaches dog friendly, Jake loved watching the kite surfers!
Peaceful site which allowed me to complete some work (sounds of Skylarks and Buzzards in the back ground. lovely)
Paul and Angie are excellent site managers, always friendly and helpful and not intrusive, thank you.
We will be back.

Great week sent at Tregurrian, Paul and Angie most helpful and maintain the site to a high standard. You know they are around but they are not intrusive.
Enjoyed all the walks from the site along the coastal path to either Watergate Bay or Mawgan Porth, both dog friendly beaches. Jake loved watching the kite-surfers! I loved the cliff walks with the souond of the crashing sea, Buzzards and Sky Larks, great stuff.
As others have said the site is a little breezy at times, we did experience 2 nights of good gusts and the awning took a battering and lived to tell the tale. Well impressed with the Quest Berkley Porch Awning.
Thanks Paul & Angie, we will be back.

Angie and Paul were terrific hosts and the site was immaculate.
We usually tent camp but hired a Motorhome for this trip just to try it - the site has simple access and is very level.
Great access to the Coastal Path and some really lovely walks. Local beaches are dog friendly.

This is a great site for all ages, walkers, bikers and even us oldies. We took the bus to Padstow and had a great time. The journey is fun on the bus. If you get the double decker make sure you sit at the top and get the front seat. Helter skelter rides - worth every penny. Paul and Angie are fantastic managers on the site. Nothing too much trouble. Site is clean, tidy and very well run. We will return......

What a gem of a site! Perfectly situated at the top of the hill up from Watergate Bay and within driving distance of Padstow. The site facilities did not disappoint and the personal touches (pictures) in the toilets were a nice addition. The managers have worked hard to ensure that the site is perfect for campers following the harsh winter. We look forward to staying again later in the year. Well done to the managers as their hard work is much appreciated.

We loved it here. Very peaceful and quiet. Not too easy to get to the beach but coastal path and the views are a dream. Toilets were spotless, with lovely hot showers. Nearest beach is Watergate but also easy drive to Newquay and Padstow. We prefer quieter places however and these too are easy to find. Excellent base for the North Cornwall coast.

We selected this site partly due to the previous praise for the site managers and this was certainly the case throughout our stay. Paul and Angie are extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and they work tirelessly to make your stay enjoyable. Their local knowledge is excellent and we followed their advice on several occasions! Particularly impressive at this site is the short and easy walk to the South West Coast Path, with easy access to Watergate Bay. Lovely dog friendly beach at Watergate is also lovely. Sunday Carvary at Lanherne Pub(also dog friendly) in Newquay is highly recommended. Anyone interested in photgraphy and sunsets will be love this site. Washblocks extremely clean, endless supply of hot water. A site we will certainly return to again and again!!

Having just purchased our first motorhome & joined the club this was our first visit to a club site. We could not have been made more welcome. Angi & Paul are a lovely couple who just want you to have a good holiday. They were able to help & recommend places to eat & routes to walk. The site was very clean with good facilities & nice touches.(Loved reading the "thought for the day") The managers work very hard & are always available, checking the showers early etc .I hope they get some time off at some point ! It's about a 10min walk down the coastal path to Watergate Bay, which has 3 or 4 lovely places to eat & a stunning beach. Kids felt safe & able to cycle around the site & visit the shop. Although no play area or games room children were welcome. We would love to return & were very impressed. Thank you Paul & Angi for all your hard work.

We stayed in May when my wife was "heavy with child" with our two Irish Terriers. This was our second stay at this site. Without a doubt, Paul and Angie are the most wonderful site managers we have ever met. As another reviewer said: they make an ordinary site wonderful. Their contribution to the club should be recognised.
We look forward to returning this year with an addition!

One cannot speak highly enough of the site managers at this site. With a light touch, everything is well organised, thoroughly cleaned and every assistance is given if needed.

This site is so well cared for, the welcome and assistance is given so readily, the wardens are always busy and their results show but be in no doubt, you the visitor always come first.
The CCC need to replace the chipped shower trays and redo some hardstanding surfaces where the elements and us have taken their toll.
Wardens should be main contenders for the award (if there was one!) for 2012 !!!

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said - this particular pair of managers are very nice, friendly, and efficient. The site is sparkling clean and working well and it's now October and still no evidence that they've had a day off.
Tregurrian is in a brilliant position, just a short walk to the sea and you can hear the surf in the evenings from your 'van. Warning though, you get the full brunt of the Westerly Gales off the ocean. I was camped off season and during a particularly bad set of storms (50mph gusts and hurling rain) and the van was given such a good pummelling that I was having trouble sleeping - if I'd had an awning I would probably have lost it. So come mentally prepared if you intend to camp here in poor weather. But its worth being blown around to have access to that lovely beach/bay and those sunsets. Kudos Tregurrian site.

On arrival the campsite seemed to be very clean and tidy, but unfortunately I did not stay long enough to find out exactly what it was like as i found it was not very welcoming towards dogs and so I cancelled my booking and stayed at another campsite nearby which was a lot more dog friendly. I would suggest this campsite is for adults only !!!

This was our 1st stay at this site. The managers are a credit to C&CC as our welcome was superb. We arrived on the wrong day, a day early and it was not a problem to Angie who put us at ease with her lovely friendly manner. We have stayed at lots of club sites and this young couple are a mile ahead of any other managers we have encountered. They are constantly working and we cant see how they get a day off as there are just the two of them. C&CC should be giving people like this all the support they need. The showers/loos could do with updating re. cracked tiles/showers etc but they are all spotlessly clean. Our stay was lovely and mostly due to the personalities and hard work of the managers. Give them some help/support!!!

Really friendly welcome and an immaculately clean site with spotless facilities. Grounds well maintained and kept despite a pretty wet period just before we arrived. Ground drains pretty quick on the grass pitches. No problem though getting caravan in or out. 100 yards or so to coastal path and lots of places nearby to walk the dogs offsite. Definitely a great place out of season...... Not sure if it would be for us high season.... But then loads of coastal sites and local attractions in Cornwall would not be as great in the peak season as we enjoy off season more

We stayed at the site early September. The weather was amazing so we spent the majority of our stay out on the Coastal path which is easy access from the site. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Angie and Paul. We've stayed at the site many times before and can clearly see the many improvements that have been made to the facilities this year. All public areas were clean and spotless. The office is bright and welcoming. The site has certainly improved from previous years. We look forward to staying there again next year.

Staff very helpful - forgot to bring the sleeping compartments and they helped find a local camping shop for spares. Really peaceful and friendly site. Would definitely revisit.

The new site managers Paul and Angie are doing a great job and were very helpful. They managed to get us a spot next to our son and family which was very convenient for the whole family, especially the grandchildren!
The toliets and showers, although somewhat few in number for the number of campers, were kept very clean and tidy. Also given the rainy summer the site itself was kept mown and as tidy and mud free as was possible in the conditions
The local area has plenty to see and do with Watergate Bay surfing and boarding plus there are easy trips to Newquay, Padstow, the Eden project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, etc, etc.
One word of warning, some of the coastal parking, at places like Fistral Beach, as one example, is run by private companies who will try and charge huge amounts by posting you a bill afterwards, (e.g. £120) if you overstay what you have paid for.by a few minutes.

We really enjoyed our stay. We received a great welcome and everyone involved in running the site was friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers, despite being few in number, we're kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The site's position close to the coast path and Watergate Bay was a real bonus. Buses from the nearby stop gave good access to Padstow, Newquay and beyond. A big thank you to all concerned for a very enjoyable five days.

I somewhat reluctantly agreed to my family's wish to have a camping holiday- especially in the wettest summer on record- so am pleased to report that, thanks to the excellent experience of Tregurrian, I am now a happy converted camper! We had a great time- from the moment of booking to extending our stay; Paul & Angie run an excellent site. We enjoyed the walk down & up to Watergate Bay, and there was plenty of advice about local places to see, with extra tips of local knowledge freely given. We're already thinking of next summer's visit; the long drive is worth it.

Just back from a 2 week stay at Tregurrian and we would like to thank the Managers, Angie and Paul and their assistants Rosemary and Dave for the invaluable help we received from them when we had problems with our awning due to freak winds. They worked tirelessly throughout the day and evening trying to secure all the tents and awnings. Angie also managed to arrange for us to keep our pitch for an extra night after I made a mistake with the booking. They were always on hand for advice and were very friendly and approachable. The toilet blocks were always spotless, in fact the whole site was kept immaculate. The fish and chip van visits every Wednesday and Friday and although a bit pricey they are lovely fish and chips and very convenient! The site is close to the coastal path which leads down to Watergate bay. The scenery is lovely and the beach is dog friendly but so clean you wouldn't know it. We enjoyed a walk along the coastal path to Mawgan Porth followed by a cream tea at the Merrymoor Inn. We also had a couple of meals there which were good value but it does get busy. The site is 4 miles from Newquay and we found it a great base from which to visit all parts of Cornwall. We hope to return next year and are already looking forward to seeing the places we missed. Hopefully we will not be giving Angie and Paul too many problems next time!!

We were booked on the site for 11 nights however we decided to stay an extra night which the lovely site manager angie arranged for us . The site is very well situated for costal walks to newquay and Morgan porth. The costal path to Newquay is very pleasent and easy walking conditions taking you through porth along the beach. The costal path to Morgan porth is not at all suitable for young children we took our 11 and 8 year old along there not realising it would be so unsuitable. We did however find there was a shuttle bus for a small return charge to and from Morgan porth . The site was lovely very peaceful and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly the managers angie an Paul made us feel so welcome as did rosemary and dave the other staff members they all worked so hard to maintain an excellent standard of the faclilties . We have been members of the c&c club for 7 years now and have enjoyed most of our stays but we have to say our stay at tregurrian was very special due to the friendly welcome of the truly lovely people who were running the site. Our girls extremely enjoyed their morning visit to the site shop to collect the newspaper where they were always greeted with a lovely smile and interesting conversation. many many thanks to angie Paul rosemary and dave . Visited for 10 nights, very well maintained site with spotless toilet and shower facilities. The site wardens never stopped working.
We stayed on a Jumbo Tent Pitch with electric which was excellent for our Vango Samara 600 (incl porch). Location very good for local beaches with short journey times to Newquay and Perranporth.
Site is within walking distance of Watergate Bay, either by a short road walk or via a slightly longer costal path route, however both routes were quite steep and the road a little narrow.
We had a couple of very windy nights during our stay and the site wardens had no problem with our vehicle being parked accross the front of our pitch to protect our tent. Club rules are up held with no kites or footballs in sight, and all dogs including our own were on leads.
This was our first visit to the site, and we would certainly return. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a campsite in this area.

What a fantastic site! Angie and Paul could not have done more to help us, nothing was ever too much trouble.I understand they are new site managers, and they are certainly the best we have come across within the club yet. The site itself is peaceful and has very clean facilities, which have recently been decorated and refurbished. The area is beautiful - we used Watergate Bay a lot - a 3 minute drive from site (it's near, but down a narrow steep road, not ideal to walk with young children) The council car park can be costly, but if you are staying for a week and visiting a few places it is worth buying a weeks's car parking for £35.00, covering all long term council car parks in Cornawall. 'Fifteen' is a restaurant worth visiting in the Bay - not cheap but very lovely, with phenomenal views! We will definitely be back!

This is a very average camp site made in to an excellent one by the managers Paul and Angie Cartwright. They are what makes the camp site. We had the most awful weather with gales blowing for at least two days. Four people lost awnings including us and I it wasn't for Angie and Paul it would have been 50 times worse. So we thanked them at the time and we thank them again we managed to escape with only a little damage tour awning. The site itself is spotlessly clean nd well manicured, information is readily available as to what and where to go. The Club need to start and do some investment in the hard standing department because this certainly contributed to the damage that people suffered. It is like pegging in to Tarmac and don'be under any misapprehension they are not good enough for using with awnings. They'd don't absorb water. Come on CLUB support two of the best managers you have on your estate. Not only. D Paul and Angie derive better. So do we members who pay our membership and have expensive equipment. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short but would recommend the two hardest working managers I have seen. And no I am not related, but I can't praise them too highly.

Well what a difference new site managers can make! We have been visiting the Tregurrian site at Watergate Bay for the past 20 years and have just returned from a 12 night holiday at the site. Unfortunately over the previous three years we have seen the site decline in it's management, cleanliness and overall standards. To our delight this year we arrived to find Paul and Angie as the new site managers. We received friendly and warm welcome right from the word go (something we and other fellow campers had not experiened over the past three years). A fresh, clean reception / office clearly well organised and functional. Very well maintained and rejuvinated site which was spotlessly clean and maintained on a regular daily basis (several times a day). We've been coming to Tregurrian twice a year for the past nine years. We were impressed with the development of the site from our last visit in September 2011. The new Managers, Angie and Paul have made many improvements on the site from the bright airy office/shop, to the well kept grass/flowers, to the spotlessly clean showers and toilet block. The site is certainly a credit to them and to the club. If there were a Manager/Site of the year surely Tregurrain should gain the 'Gold Medal'! It is obvious from other reviews that this site has improved and we highly recommend a stay with Angie and Paul. The site is ideally positioned for Coastal walks and the picturesque harbour town of Padstow is a short drive away. Thanks for a wonderful 16 nights stay and see you again in September.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at this site and what a site it is. First and foremost are the managers Paul & Angie, their tireless commitment to keeping the site spotless has to be commended. Nothing was ever too big or too small for them. They always had a smile and their personal approach was excellent. They have clearly worked hard to get the site to the condition it is in now and it really shows. If there was an award for C&CC managers then Paul & Angie would certainly get our vote. Of all the sites we have stayed at they were by far the nicest, friendliest, hardworking managers we have come across.
Now for the site itself – what a superb location, only ½ mile away from Watergate Bay. Some reviews state that the site if on a cliff top, that’s a bit misleading. It’s actually set quite away back from the cliff (which is actually better). For what is a relatively small site (90 pitches) it never seemed cramped. The site is spilt into two locations, divided by a country lane. A camping field with jumbo pitches and no hook-up and a main field where most of the caravans and a few tents go. Each had its own shower/toilet blocks. We opted for the main field (Pitch 40). The shower/toilet facilities were as is expected, spotless.
Some reviews state that the site isn’t child friendly, we have to disagree. There is no playground, but who needs that when the glorious sandy beach is only 10 minutes away (by walking). There was plenty of room for our 3 year old to ride her bike and have a run around in safety. Paul & Angie certainly came across as child friendly, always ready to stop and chat to our daughter.
We were fortunate that the 10 days we had were fantastic, very sunny and hot, but beware this site is quite exposed and when the wind did pick up (only twice) we got battered.
In short, an excellent location with great facilities, run by outstanding staff. We would definitely recommend this site and will return again, without a doubt.

We had a lovely 18 nights on this site, luckily with good weather, the site was a little windy at times but think this was more down to the weather rather than the location of the site. There was a slight problem with the water in the dishwashing area but this was soon sorted out by the site-managers, and having spoken to other guests who had used the site previous years this was a long-standing problem that the new site managers had inherited. My only concern is the location of the site, although it says 0.75 of a mile from Watergate Bay, the walk down the roadway is a little hazzardous with children and we only attempted it once, we tended to take the car drop everything off and the kids and my husband would take the car back to the site and walk down, and walk back to collect it after the visit to the beach. My husband did do the coastal walk to the beach but felt this was not suitable for younger children, ours are 3 and 7. I would recommend the location of the site for touring around the area, as you are only a couple of miles from Newquay and a few miles the other side to Padstow which is stunning. The beaches at Porth and Morwan Porth are well worth a visit and are great with kids, as the sea is very shallow and there is lots of sand. The rock pools are worth a visit at Watergate Bay, as is Jamie Olivers Fifteen Restaurant which has fantastic views over the bay. This site is definately recommended by us.....enjoy it folks. X

Brilliant site, shower block very clean and there was never a long queue. The site managers were very helpful and even help me put my tent up. I cannot fault this site. You are only a short walk to the coastal path which takes about 10mins to walk to Watergate Beach, but coming back its can be a bit steep espically if you are carrying things. There is a fish and chip van that comes twice a week, its some of the best I have tried but bad news if you are on a diet. The only downside to the site, is there is not a decent pub within walking distance if you fancy a night off from cooking ect.. But Jamie Oliver 15 is right on the beach and the breakfasts are to die for. I cannot wait to return to this site next year with my partner.

Just come back from a 2 week stay at Treggurian. (2 adults 27 one 9 month old & 1 dog)Very clean and tidy site very well looked after by Paul and Angie. The site is in a great location close to beaches & a great base if you want to explore Cornwall. Paul and Angie were always there to help if u needed any advice, wanted to know places to go or eat or just wanted a chat. very friendly & dedicated managers. The family room was handy as we have a 9month little boy who loves the bath, the only downside about it is there is no shower in there for the parent, if there was it would be a perfect room. There is only 1 problem with the site which is the slow tap for filling water container up. We will defiantly be back next year. Hopefully with the same great weather. Thanks for a great stay Ricky, Amy, Joshua & Dennis

The site is immaculate due to the dedication of the new site managers, Paul and Angie who worked tirelessly and the results are fantastic, even helping us to pitch the tent on a wet and windy day. This is our third visit to Treguarrian, we had returned last year due to being close to the surf and local towns rather than the site. This visit has changed our view and we enjoyed lots of relaxing time on the campsite. We will look forward to returning next year to an immaculate, peaceful, happy campsite thanks to Paul and Angie.

Well, what a week that was! Thoroughly enjoyed our return to Tregurrian this year. Site was in perfect condition, all facilites very clean and in tip top condition. Lovely welcome from Paul and Angi, who really ensured we had everything we needed during our stay (Thankyou!). Our weather was glorious which made for some stunning evening sunsets over the Atlanic horizon. Watergate Bay beach, along with facilities is only 10-15min walk away. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing break. Highly recommended!!

Tregurrian is a joy to stay at, hardworking Paul & Angie always have a smile on their faces & it appears boundless energy giving a friendly welcome to all. Views from both fields are brilliant, Newquay Bay from 1 field & Atlantic coast from 2nd field. We were a group of single campers from Phoenix Camping Club & had a great time. Walk down to Watergate Bay is easy (quite steep on return but there is an hourly bus if you don't fancy the climb) Padstow or Newquay within easy reach by bus. & you won't be disappointed by the organic strawberries delivered to site twice weeekly!!!

After 4 hours of travelling what a delight it was to be greeted by an enthusiastic couple Paul and Angie
The site was immaculately presented it was a credit to them and to the club
The whole 10 days of our visit they did not stop, 6 in the morning til 23-30 at night. With no assistance at all
While in the area we called in to Sennon Cove site, again immaculately turned out a credit to the team.
The 2 site assistants Keith and Simon also had the same great enthusiasm. but mentioned the training given by Pauline and Dave was invaluable which enabled them to do there job in a more relaxed manner and stand them in good stead for the future
This is proof correct training and assistance must be a priority to ensure the sites and the Clubs future.
Thankyou again Paul and Angie, your efforts were noticed and appreciated not only by us.It felt like you cared, and not just another caravan coming in to be dealt with. And all without assistance. Please make sure that next year Paul and Angie stay where they are to enable them to build on the fantastic effort and success put in this year.

A fantastic site which is very close to the coast is also sufficiently inland to be rural as well. The site also has easy access by car to Newquay if you need a towns facilities eg supermarkets. Despite the persistent rain during our stay there was no chance of flooding as the site is on the hill above Watergate Bay. Staff were very helpful and even assisted with pitching our tent as it was very windy. Site is also a very good base for water/beach activities, walkers, cyclists and runners. We would recommend visits to Carnewas and the Bedruthan Steps, St Eval Candle Shop, St Micheals Mount and St Mawgan village with its Falcon Inn. We are in no doubt we would return to Tregurrian having first visited three years ago.

We have just had16 nights at our favourite site, this was our 17th visit. The changes were apparent from the moment we entered the office, the nice bright and clean appearance was a definite improvement. But the biggest asset this site has acquired are the new site managers Angie and Paul. What an advert for the 'friendly club' they are, nothing was too much trouble, they were available all day long every day, always cheerful and approachable, despite not having had a day off since March! The site was a credit to Paul's hard work, the grass was immaculate and the pitches well marked out despite the recent awful weather. We hope they stay for a long time as we will definitely be returning!

Fabulous site, just a few minutes walk from the stunningly beautiful SW Coastal path - about 15 minutes to Watergate Bay or an hour the other way to Mawgan Porth. A friendly, well-run site that is kept immaculate by hard-working Paul and Angie. Friendly sites seem to encourage friendly campers - and just about everyone here had a smile or exchanged a few words. It helped that the sun was shining, but we'd be happy here even in the wet. Dog-friendly, too: our pup loved the cliff walks and running and rolling on the wide and extensive Watergate Bay beach at low tide. A local farmer came around with some gorgeous just-picked strawberries on Saturday morning, and there is a fish & chips van on Wed and Fri. Enjoyed a nice pint of St Austell at the Phoenix in Watergate after a surf. All in all, a great stop: we'll definitely return.

This is our 5th year at Tregurrian and there is a vast improvement since our visit last year. Everything looks more open and the grass is well kept. The office is bright, light and welcoming. Angie and Paul could not do enough for you, they never stop! I spotted Paul checking the loos very late at night and Angie checking them very early in the morning (before 6am!!!). Talk about dedication. Yes at times the weather was appalling but this never dampened the enthusiasm of these two hardworking managers. The bus stop at Tregurrian triangle is handy for us as we can use our bus passes to avoid the long walk up the hill from the beach. We look forward to our next visit but would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay this year. Thank you.

Tregurrian is our favourite site - we first camped here nearly 30 years ago as a couple, later with our children and now as an older couple. We were most impressed this year with the friendliness and helpfulness of the site managers, Angie and Paul and totally agree with what has been said in other reviews. They take great pride in the site and do their utmost to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay, whatever the weather. Even though we now know the area well, we were very impressed to see all the local information they have collected and presented on the notice boards. Well done for making our favourite site even better.

We recently stayed for 6 nights. We found the whole stay to be relaxing, and rejuvenating. The facilities are excellent-the toilet block was immaculate, with constant hot water and powerful showers. We love Watergate Bay being so close and we were able to take our kayaks down to The Bay to enjoy the surf! Having a shower on site also enabled us to wash our wet suits off each day. The local pubs and restaurants are superb and very good value for money. The information board is extremely informative, and nicely presented. The site wardens, especially Angie and Paul were brilliant, very welcoming, knowledgable, and helpful especially as we were initially having difficulty with setting our TV aerial up ready to watch the Wimbledon Final!!We love it so much we have booked another stay in August!

We had only a feww days here and found everything excellent except the weather. It wasn't that bad as it didn't stop us doing all we wanted but we had to leave the coastal path for another visit because we were advised it could be slippery. There is an excellent bus service from by the site and plenty to visit and do. Angie and Paul could not have been more helpful, kind, and welcoming. The weather was not in our favour; the rain and winds did not cease. After four days of continual battering, one gush took the tent down but the amazing Paul and Angie came to our rescue. Paul trying to straighten the tent poles while Angie rang round trying to find us alternative accommodation! Despite being hardy campers the Cornish weather got the better of us and we gave in, but Paul and Angie were SO VERY helpful in every respect. Sorry we didn't stay long, but we will return. We had and absolutely awful time travelling to the campsite, torrential rain for the two day trip and the suspension breaking on the car, what we needed was a nice relaxing family holiday and that is exactly what we got.
As most other reviewers have said the owners are the friendliest and approachable I have ever met and couldn’t do enough for you. Despite the very heavy rain that had been falling the ground was not waterlogged and well drained. The weather was better than expected so we were able to look around the nearby area.
Watergate bay is (for me) the best beach in the UK and is only a couple of minutes drive away. The walk to the beach wouldn’t be advised if carrying buckets and spades/surfing kit but we were well aware of this as I always look on Google street view at anywhere I am planning on going.
The site was clean, friendly and accommodating. My kids loved the fact that there were ‘bunny wabbits’ around the edge of the field and puddles to stamp through. The shop has everything you need and if there are any other problems the staff are there to help. My father in-laws break away cable snapped when moving the caravan and within 30 mins the manager had rung a local supplier and reserved one for him. When it arrived he helped fit it.
The only improvement I would make is for there to be more than two toilet stalls in the gents on the main site.
Overall a VERY nice place to stay.

Fantastic welcome, really felt at home from the start. When we needed help from the managers it was always there with a smile - despite the poor weather we had on the day. Lovely beaches all around us, particularly at Perranporth and Carnewas. Best cream tea in the area was at Carnewas too. Visited Healeys Cider Farm - very good and the Eden Project was easily accessible [about 15 miles from site]. Plenty to do in the area, site is ideally located. Angie's telephone manner is excellent. We were afraid of arriving late (we were in desperate need a "jump" at the Lost Garden and fortunately got one) so called to explain our dilemma, and Angie made it clear our tardiness was no problem. That took the edge off our worries, to say the least. We were going to stay for one night but made it two, needing a break from the road in a friendly, beautiful location. We had to leave two nights early because the stormy weather was proving too testing for our little camper van and awning. Paul and Angie were so helpful from the start- advising us on how to position the awning, which was a new addition for us. Whilst we were out (in Newquay getting drenched!) they pinned down the awning, and when at 10pm we decided to take the awning down to save it flying away in the night, they were there to help and stored it in their garage overnight. Having just come back from our shortened holiday due to high winds, rain and a very broken tent.I would like to thank the site management, they were brilliant, very kind and helpful. This site is a great place to camp.Plenty to do in the area.Padstow isnt far away great for crabing and the pasties. We didnt hire bikes,as the weather was against us.The camel trail is on the flat,so good for all.If you like surfing, the beaches were great,RNLI are on hand if you get in a bit of trouble.Same about the weather, but we would go back to this site again.

We have just enjoyed a Jubilee break at Tregurrian. We thoroughly enjoyed our break here. We asked if possible to be pitched next to friends and Angie was able to accomodate us. We received a very friendly reception, much appreciated after a 10 hour journey. The facilities are spotless and the site well kept. The Jubilee crown hunt for the children was a lovely idea. The site is exposed to the elements(it's right on the coast),we had to cut short our trip due to the very high winds on Thursday damaging our tent, however we will definately return. I have stayed on many club sites over the years and can honestly say the welcome and service we received was one of the best!

A very warm welcome and equally a warm goodbye. We stayed only 2 nights of our 8 due to the terrible winds. The wardens patrolled the site during the night to ensure their visitors hadn't been blown away, and to warn them should they be about to!We lost the battle with the wind during the night and left at 7 with smiles from the wardens and promised to return as soon as we could. We were refunded even before we got home and had chance to ask, so many thanks for that. A terrific site, with flat pitches, immaculate facilities, flowering shrub hedges, great views and spitting distance from Watergate Bay where you can surf, and its dog-friendly too, home also to Jamie Olivers 'Fifteen'(we couldn't go as no Dogs, but the Phoenix across the coastal road is very dog friendly and has great views across the bay too)There is so much we wanted to do - we cannot wait to go back

The whole site was kept very neat and tidy and the toilets, showers etc were spotless.
The facilities were simple (basics plus small shop)but included everything necessary.
Angi and Paul were a first-class team. They gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and remained friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The cliff path is very close and it is easy to walk down to Watergate Bay (superb sand and good eating) and is within easy reach of Padstow and not too far from the Eden Project.

Just spent the Jubilee weekend at what can only be described as a 'diamond' of a site. Angie and Paul worked non-stop to ensure that the site looked perfect for the world record attempt. Look forward to seeing the pics in the local paper. The site is looking amazing and this is all down to the hard work of Angie and Paul. We are travelling around the south coast and look forward to staying there again on our travels.

We have just spent a very happy few days here. Cannot fault the site at all, just a shame the weather wasn't kinder. Angie & Paul are the most welcoming & helpful managers we have met. The site is spotlessly clean and incredibly well maintained thanks to their hard work. Shower/toilet block was always very clean. Lovely hot, powerful showers(alternative shower available on request as showers quite hot for small children).Great selection of produce in the small shop, as well as camping basics like additional tent pegs. Great location near the beautiful Cornwall coast with its stunning beaches.Easily accessed, no tricky Cornish lanes. Angie & Paul, thanks again for a great stay and looking after us so well. well where do one start, I have never seen two people graft so must on a camp site. When we where out of our caravan and they past us there was a good morning or afternoon. A problem with the water suppy and they went around tell us all that the water was not on. Then when the water came back on, they when around us all again. I am happy to recommend this site with your team up there this year. Can not wait till November to book to go back next year (2013). We did have bad weather the 14 days while we where there but we still had a good time. These two help us have a better time, and if the weather was good we would have a great time. Thank you for two weeks holiday.

We had a great time at Tregurrian which is a lovely campsite. The site managers Paul & Angie made us feel welcome and are very knowledgable about the local area. The facilities are very clean and tidy with a small shop selling a good range of items. Watergate Bay is only 3/4 of a mile down the road and is a very nice beach. We will definately return to this site in the future.
Just a note to say that if you are camping, as the site is coastal then it can be quite windy at times. Tent users ask for a sheltered spot.

This was our third year of staying at this site.
This year new managers had taken over and were doing an excellent job. They had freshened up the facilities (up late painting) and had added little touches (flowers in reception, tubs planted outside, thought for the day on a board) as well as being approachable and friendly.
The site is excellent for coastal walks and a bus service is easily accessed, just a short walk from the camp.
It is also easy to travel by car to both north and south areas of this part of Cornwall.
Thank you for making this a great holiday.

Angie & Paul are brilliant folk. I foolishly tried to take my VW campervan under a 2.4m carpark barrier one wet and windy Sunday in April, taking off my dome and TV aerial. I dispiritedly went back to the campsite at 1.30pm with all the broken bits & pieces. Within short order, these two wonderful people had gaffer-taped and waterproofed everything, found me a caravan spares outlet which had the right spare parts and a caravan engineer who arrived at 9am on the Monday. By 10.30 I was up and running again.
Angie & Paul truly represent what "The Friendly Club" is all about. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

Hello,
We have just come back from a most enjoyable few days at Tregurrian,we go there nearly every year and this was probably the best we have seen the camp, due to the hard work and dedication of the managers Angie and Paul. They were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.Angie and Paul were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. On the monday night we were there it was very rough and the next morning Paul told us he looked out in the early hours to make sure our awning was ok,being elderly this meant a lot to us.We hope to go back later in the year as we had such a good time

Although the access isn't the greatest, we found the site to be pleasant with wonderful views and sunsets...that is until we had two horrible storms with very high winds. Unfortunately our awning was blown down, and we had to pack it up at 2am in the storm. Paul and Angi were wonderful, not only did they patrol the site in the storms at 3am, they gave us every help possible. They are so friendly and work tirelessly to maintain the site. We first met them at Barnard Castle (Barney as they called it)and they really made our holiday there too.
I'm not sure if there is an award for the friendliest site managers, but Paul and Angi are up there at the top.

what a wonderful couple Paul and Angie are! My stay at Tregurrian was during a particularly bad spell of weather with hail storms and high winds. I arrived back in camp after a wet walk absolutely drenched and not looking forward to crawling into my tent and lighting the not very reliable stove. I was greeted with "Would you like a cuppa?" Yes please! That night the wind reached over 50 mph, enough to blow my tent away, but Paul checked during the night to see if I was still there. And the next day he kindly helped me to strike camp which I could not have done on my own due to the howling gale. Thank you very much Paul and Angie for looking after me so well. I am extremely grateful for all your help.

We were booked onto this site for 6 nights at the beginning of May as part of a 3 week honeymoon. We were due to stay in St. Ives before we went to Newquay but when we got to St.Ives we didn't like the site. We rang Tregurrian and asked if we could come to the site earlier and they were very accommodating. In total we stayed for 10 nights, longer than originally planned but we liked the site a lot. It is very well placed for travelling to Newquay, Padstow, Crantock bay etc. and we had a lovely time on our honeymoon. Paul and Angie are a lovely couple, we had a nice time talking to them about the site and overall the atmosphere on the site was peaceful and relaxed. Having arrived at the site after a long journey down from the midlands, Paul and Angie greeted us with a smile and were very helpful in getting us booked in and sited on the pitch. We unfortunatly had several problems with our awning due to the high winds, this was a particularly bad weekend all over the UK. Paul & Angie were on hand to assist us, even at 06.30am one morning. They are a very helpfull and friendly couple, It was early season and they were the only wardens on site as their assistants hadn’t yet arrived.
All this on top of their normal daytime duties, what a couple! Paul & Angi are a really great team and a real credit to the club. Hospitality above and beyond their duties!
Our heartfelt thanks to them both and we wish them a very successful season.

The Wardens, Paul and Angi were new to the site, and spent a lot of time enthusiastically gardening and improving the site. I was made to feel very welcome. Have just returned from 23 nights at Tegurrian (Sept/Oct 2011). The wardens as ever were very welcoming and greeted us with a nice smile. We was pitched at the bottom of the field looking out to the sea, which is ideal as having 3 dogs between two units meant we didn't disturb anyone. The site is close to the cliff path and the walk to Watergate bay is easy, but a bit of a pull back up, but an ice cream from the shop is welcoming. This was out very first site visit as new members of the CACC. We have camped for years both on large sites, farm sites, at music festivals and wild camping. We were made extremely welcome, like part of the family. We couldn't believe the size of the pitch and were pleased with not having to pay additional for every piece of kit outside the tent (windbreak, gazebo) like with most sites these days. We only spent 3 nights as we were at the Boardmasters festival for most of the time but every minute on the site was great. Lovely people, safe, secure, clean....and the best showers ever. Friendly cleaning staff and the nicest 'it's 12 pm now' we could have received for being 30 minutes late leaving our pitch on the Sunday, with mild hangovers! This was my first CCC site as a member (came over from the other side) and as expected the facilities were excellent, and essential purchases were all available.
My only moan would be quite a number of the pitches were a bit snug if you had a caravan / awning / car; this left very little space left to sit out without being on top of next door's car. This in turn did impact on some campers (2 small tents) who found next door seated out in their parking space on return one day - They could not park the other side either due to proximity to neighbours !
We booked 3 nights stnd but were able to have 2 nights electric on arrival with no fuss - wardens very helpful. On changing to our std pitch for the third night we were allocated a nice spot only to find when we returned from the beach at the end of the day it had been allocated again to another motorhome !
It wasn't a problem we simply parked on the one next door which was empty, but if busy could have been a tad embarrassing if none left - whoops.
One suggestion would be that the motorhome service point be a drive over with the grey water drain in the middle with the surrounding concrete sloping inwards on all sides. This saves a lot hassle trying to line your waste pipe up over the drain which then stopped you opening the lid.

The only slight criticism is that there were not enough toilets to go round. But this should not deter you from staying here. Highly recommended

Watergate Bay, Bedruan Steps just a magic walk away along coastal path - and the climb down cliff paths to idyllic beaches and surf worth every puff! Newquay 5 minutes away but could be 500 miles; Padstow and its food 20 minutes. We will be back.

The site location was fantastic and easy to access. A short walk to Watergate bay and to join the south east costal path. But this is where the positives have to stop. The welcome was realtive warm and a good info pack on the local area handed over (very family orientated). But really the club is missing a trick the shop supplies limited, no fresh bread, pasties or clotted cream a real missed opportunity. No induction water, waste laundry location completely missed. The real disappointed was that all the units where crammed into one area of the site. It has been dry and the two fields which have electric hook up where unused, but we had to all endure a touch of the sardines. In the high of season you expect this. But at Easter it would not have damage the site due to the dry weather to allow everyone a little space. Its the difference between shall we go again or not. We where not the only one's to think this a little strange. The reply when asked why was well in two days site will be empty. I wonder why ! A tad lacking on the customer satisfaction front. As I said a fantastic site but so may missed opportunities to get a major thumbs up...

The site was lovely and clean. The staff are very helpful. Our stay was great, plenty of room on your pitch with fantastic views and coastal walks. only 4 miles from Newquay it is an ideal site to just relax yet close to beach and Newquay only 4 miles away. Would recommend to anyone.

We chose this site because it is described as 3/4 mile from the Watergate Bay surfing beach and our 15 year old son enjoys surfing. We thought the distance would not be too far for him to walk carrying his surf board. In fact the route is down narrow steep, winding, country lanes busy with vehicular traffic and we considered it to be too dangerous for him to walk down with all his kit. The safer coastal footpath (a longer route) is impractical for carrying surfing gear as it narrows considerably. I feel that simply describing the beach as 3/4 mile away without any reference to the difficulties and dangers of the route could be viewed as disingenuous.
My other gripe is the toilet block which had four hand basins, three showers, two urinals and only two toilet stalls. I can wait and queue for a shower and for a wash basin but there are times when I really don’t want to queue for the toilet. There is another toilet block across the road serving the second site but that's hardly the point and it’s not exactly nearby.
