Was pleasantly surprised by this campsite very easy going and clean. very well maintained and friendly. very close to train station and after a time the trains dont seem to affect your stay. pub close to the site entrance served lunch and evening meals that are moderately priced, which you can either book a table or may have to wait if is quite booked up but the pub is very friendly and comfortable a warm family atmosphere. back to the campsite and the shower and toilet blocks are very clean and very well kept and maintained. will defiantly go back and stay at this campsite and would recommend it for a lovely quiet relaxing holiday

A lovely site with mostly level pitches, and the staff were very accommodating when the wife wanted an alternative pitch to the one allocated.
Ideal for getting around the area to see various local attractions.
The bonus is the chippy van on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

Positives - Staff were very friendly, mostly helpful and site facilities were very clean. Well located for access to the trains for Poole, Weymouth etc. Pub next to the site served good food although the price of a pint was pretty steep. Brilliant fish & chips from the visiting chippy van.
Negativies - toilets and showers need upgrading - not enough showers and toilets flushes inefficient - shower head holes seemed clogged or water pressure inefficient, lack of hooks for clothes and no sink cubicles. During a conversation with staff we were asked why pay all that money for a motorhome then not use your own facilities, but if taps and drains aren't provided (and they're not) on individual pitches how can we use our own facilities efficiently? Also we motorhomes pay more per pitch than a tent! We were told to park so that the door faced a particular direction, but our european van door was on the opposite side so our awning when pitched meant that our children were sleeping right next to the road instead of on the safe grass side - no flexibity offered when we queried this with staff on arrival. This direction also meant that the door faced the prevailing wind. Enclosed dog walk very small and there was a sign asking that dogs be kept on a lead - why?
OS maps showed a public path going from close by the site to Moreton Ford, but staff advised us that the resident living in the house on the path would make us unwelcome and has been known to threaten using her rifle on campsite visitors! Avoiding confrontation meant that we either walked on the busy and fast B road (without pavement), or drive there. Our original plans when deciding to book this and take our dog were restricted by this. However once in Moreton there are lovely walks. Does Ordnance and Survey know that this marked path is no longer public? Garden centre in Moreton now no longer open.
Despite the above niggles we had a lovely 2 weeks and the weather was kind to us.

This site is a real gem. We stayed here for 6 nights and had a really enjoyable time. It is ideally suited for family days out to Monkey World, Weymouth etc. As a family with three young children (9yrs, 5yrs and 2yrs) the play park was superb. It had swings, slides, climbing frames and a big sand pit which my 2year old and 5 year old absolutely loved playing in. The toilets and showers were always clean no matter what time of day we used them. They had a family room which was excellent to use with our 2 year old. They have a fish and chip van that comes twice a week. The food was delicious and a welcome break from cooking. The staff on the site were friendly and welcoming and made our stay brilliant. We would highly recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the future.

This is a really nice site with good facilities that were always clean. The staff were all very welcoming. We found the site easy to get to. Moreton train station is just next to the site so there is quite a lot of train noise, not that this bothered us at all. Very handy if you dont want to drive every where. This site is great for touring Dorset with plenty of beaches within a short drive. The Bovington Tank Museum is well worth a visit. Pool, Waymouth and Dorchester are also a short drive away(or train journey). There is a good fish and chip van that visits twice weekly, but the ques were quite long so i would recomend that you wait about half an hour after it arrives then go up. We would also recomend the pub at the entrance to the site, it does lovely meals and there's a pool table and darts board (a bonus if you've got teanages). We had a fab 9 days stay here and would def recomend a visit.

The wardens are a credit to the camp, they are friendly and if you need anything they will try and help.
The camp is kept lovely and the facilities are clean.
The park our daughter loved.
We will be coming back again next year.

Today I returned from Moreton. It was my third trip this summer and my most successful attempt at camping. Time to erect tent down from five hours to forty minutes. The site is perfectly situated for the coast, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Poole etc. Not forgetting Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast. There are numerous inland places of interest too, Corfe Castle and the tank museum are within spitting distance, and the Moreton Tearooms serve a great cream tea!
On a club site it goes without saying that you get a friendly welcome and the showers and loos are impeccably clean. The camp shop sells the basics that one would expect but it would be useful if the shop was open for a little longer. I also met some very nice people who were happy to share tips and experiences - very helpful for a newbie.
A fish and chip van calls twice a week and the quality is excellent. I'm told that the vendors are expanding their range of products in the next couple of weeks or so. There is also a pub just outside the site entrance. It doesn't open until six thirty, which can be a bit of a bind after a long drive and a wrestling match with a tent when a refreshing pint would be very welcome. The pub does serve food which is perfectly adequate but the service, in my experience, is slow to the point of stagnation.
I hope you find this review balanced, I've tried to be fair and accurate. Probably the easiest way to sum up is to say that I had such a good time that I have booked to return for two weeks in September. Keep up the good work!

Really enjoyed our holiday. All the site staff are very friendly and helpful. there is a shop at reception with everything you'll ever need plus! amazing icecream!! only down is that its only open between 9-10.30am and 4-5.30pm. No trouble getting to the site. very handy having a train station with a minutes walk off the campsite although we didnt use it as spent every day on the beach at ludworth cove- next to durdle door. if you walk around the beach and climb over the rocks then we found a virtually private beach. we arrived at 10am and the beach was completely ours until about 12midday!! it was amazing, and although the weather was lovely anyway it was scorching on the beach as the white cliff reflects the sun, we could have been anywhere! about 15/20 minutes from the camp site there is a big tesco straight off of the mini roundabout. very handy for a slight detour for tea on the way home. otherwise the camp site sells a bbq package for £5 or fish and chip van visits on a wed and sat night. the only thing that was a bit disappointing in the entire trip was the wait for the ladies showers if you went about 9-11. my fiance said there was never a cue for the mens. unfortunatly the showers were also a bit hot (especially as we had bad sun burns!) and could not be adjusted. i think a bit of modernisation is all that is needed. the bathroom at night is nice and warm and the doors are always shut when its gets dark. very homely :)
ooh and very nice and friendly pub which is also next door to the campsite. pool table, child friendly, dog friendly, music machine, games machine.
overall we had a very lovely trip and we would like to say a very big thankyou to all the staff that made our visit so special.

This was only our second trip with our caravan and we don't go too far from home! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Some of the pitches needed chocks but they lent some to some people who didn't have any. We were picthed near the dog walk and play area, which suited us as we have kids and a dog. Our son made friends and happily played in the play area and we could just watch him from our caravan.
We walked to the train station and got the train into Weymouth which was great you would have to me mad to drive in due to the Olympics there are lots of road works in the town and it just looked a nightmare. Weymouth has lots of nice cafe's and shops and the dog is allowed on the beach at the far end.
There is a pub next door to the site but we didn't go there.
Very nice site.

Overall a nice site, very quiet and quite secluded. The facilities are basic but functional and spotlessly clean. We have 2 young children and the family shower room was a great asset. Staff friendly and helpful.
This site was a bit remote for us as you can't even walk anywhere.
There were only a couple of issues during our stay (other than the weather which could have been kinder).
We have a large tent and so booked the jumbo pitch (there is only one). If you need the jumbo pitch do not book this site. It is big enough but it's on quite a steep slope and the orientation of the plot would have meant us pitching side on to the slope and we would have all rolled to one side of the tent! As it was the site was quiet and the staff found us a more suitable spot which effectively meant we used two small plots.
Don't bother with the 'fish & chip' van. It's a lovely idea but the advertised time is when it arrives and you'll find yourself queuing for well over an hour. You'd be better to jump in the car, head down the road to Warmwell holiday village (5 minutes drive) which has an excellent fish & chip shop. You'll be there and back and eating your tea before the van serves the first person in the queue.

Nice campsite, we had a choice of pitches, despite arriving late in the day on Bank Holiday Monday. All the campsite staff were very friendly and helpful and were working hard to keep the site looking clean and tidy. My only criticism would be that the showers had only a small trickle of water from them. Loads to see and do within a few miles, would definitely go again.

A very, very nice site. This was our first stay on a club site and we were made very welcome as soon as we arrived. We had asked for a pitch near the play area and the pitch we were given could not have been better - able to relax and keep an eye on the kids at the same time. The site was quite busy but never felt crowded or noisy. The toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean all week. There is a pub next to the site which does food - perfectly nice. The fish and chip van that came on Wed eve was good value and delicious.
A very good location for exploring the Dorset coast - there are various beaches within a 20 min drive and lots to do nearby. We had a great time, watching bats and shooting stars from our awning and listening to the hooting of owls in the woods - a lovely place and perfect for kids, ours aged 6 and 2 1/2 had the time of their lives! Would very much recommend.

Very nice site, very busy when we were there so there was lots and lots of children so great for families. Am very grateful that the Wardens had put most of the units without children in one area so we had a bit of peace. Small dog walk & pub just outside the site, all in all a very nice stay.

All staff were very friendly and helpful, both on arrival and during the stay. On request we were given a peaceful location which was excellent, but to be fair the entire site was thoroughly tranquil. The trains hoot as they approach the nearby level crossing, however this was not intrusive. It's an ideal good spot for easy access to the south coast. The week we spent here was wonderful - we would definitely revisit.
