Spent a short break at this site, where the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The site is within easy / short walking distance of the town which has a selection of eating establishments. From the site there are also some pleasant walks and a nice park.
Site is a short distance from the motorway and makes for a pleasant stopping point on your journey.

We have been to this site four or five times. It is a really friendly site with staff who go out of their way to be helpful.
They are very efficient and yet very friendly in reception and are pleased to help site a caravan.
The facilities are spotless and we have never had to queue for a shower.
It is close to the town but not so close that it seems overlooked. The town of Moffat has a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

We arrived on the busy Good Friday lunch time and the campsite was a sight to behold, nestled in a valley with glorious mountain views. The site wardens showed us to our pitch, took the caravan off the back of our Land Rover and put it onto our pitch. HASSLE FREE, MARVELOUS!! The site is beautifully clean and very well maintained. Its a 2 minute walk to the town with all the major places close at hand. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the very friendly wardens, always there to help, give out valuable information and generally making your feel welcome. Looking forward to staying again next year. THANK YOU.

We were made very welcome, staff were very helpful and friendly. Site and facilities were spotless. We were only there for 2 days and wished we had booked longer, so much to do and see, lots of walks, pony rides and we didn't even get into Moffat town but it looked great. We will be making this site our favorite so far. Thanks to all the staff, you were great!!

We were on our way to the club site at Luss on Loch Lomond when we drove into heavy snow fall on the A74 M near to Moffat, Unfortunately a car ran into the back of our caravan damaging the rear of the van and the tow bracket on our car. We were able to get to a car park on the edge of Moffat and I walked into the Club site in the town. We got immediate help from Tracy and Gary who were on duty at the time. Gary helped us bring our van into the site Tracy offered a comforting cuppa (the snow was still falling), We stopped at the site for three nights to sort the tow bracket and insurance etc. The help given by everyone at the site was first class and very much appreciated under what was quite stressful conditions, We felt lucky because the accident happened near to the site where help was so willingly given.

This site is just a joy, Friendly Staff, Friendly Members and Friendly Town. I noticed the site was looking nice, grass tidy and green well done !! Especially with the weather Moffat's had to face over the winter, I also noticed big improvements made to a lot of the roads and pitches. Once again a gem of a site...Well-done. See you all again soon.

I have used this site to break a journey from Bristol to Inverness.I really appreciate having this site open all year. The welcome is always first class and the facilities are excellent. Arriving after dark on a freezing winter evening, I would have been entirely sympathetic if the site manager had simply pointed me in the direction of my pitch. Instead, he buttoned up his coat, led me to the pitch and would not leave until he was completely satisfied that I was fully set up. Excellent. Why can't we get him to run the NHS?

We used this site as a stop over site
on our way home from a winter sun break in Spain. It was our first visit to
this site and we were very pleased with our welcome and the layout
of the site .
The toilet block, although old in style was well decorated and spotlessly
clean a credit to manager and staff. We extended our visit to
three nights. Keep up the good work.

In spite of the heavy snow we couldn't have had a warmer, nicer welcome. Very conveniently situated in town -ideal for provisions when snowed in!! The showers are hot, unlimited time and the facilities are kept spotlessly clean in spite of being a little outmoded. Not an adverse comment but recognising the extra effort needed to keep them to this high standard.

We have been using this site for about 20 years and have always found the wardens to be extremely pleasant and helpful. Nothing is ever too much for them. The site itself is in a great position, having wonderful views yet only 2 minutes from the town with all its shops, pubs and eateries. There are several walks from the site of varying lengths. What this site needs, however, is a complete refurbishment of the toilet block and internal access roads; 2 new radiators and a coat of paint in the case of the former and some part tarmacing in the case of the latter just isn't enough, unfortunately, and lets down an otherwise beautiful site.

I spent 4 relaxing nights at the end of November and was very impressed with the site. The staff were very welcoming and friendly on arrival and throughout the visit, and went out of their way to help everybody on site. Although other reviewers have commented on the age of the toilets, I found them to be warm, exceptionally clean and fresh, and well situated. Overall a brilliant wee level location for any time of the year and any holiday.

Pitches nicely spaced and perfectly level for drive-on-and-off for motorhomes although we did not need to drive out often as so easy to walk into nearby town amenities. Great for dog as convenient dog run as walk into or out of site and then into town. Dogs allowed in at least three hotels where one can have coffees or meals and relax, all very welcoming.Countryside around is exquisite especially with beautiful autumn colours and hills surrounding the town and site always in view.
A good overnight stop or for longer stay.
Very welcoming and cannot wait to go back.

We live about 50 miles from this site and have used tents, camper vans, caravan and now a small motor home on this site. Every time we visit we come home relaxed having enjoyed out stay. The staff on site are hardworking, helpful, friendly and always there for you without being in your face. We stay at this site every time we can, our family laugh at us for going so often. Surly staff, filthy loos, a place where nothing is (far) too much trouble, and the manager positions himself somewhere between Hitler and Stalin in the pantheon of great leaders – we’ve all met some of the above, but at Moffat, even Mrs Bucket, sorry, it’s Bouquet, could run her finger under every loo seat without a qualm.
We went down there from Glen Haggis, to find, well, almost the demi-paradise promised by Shakespeare. Very convenient for travellers to and from Scotland, just over a mile from the A 74, and set in between a charming lake and a background of hills calling out to be walked, it’s a great location. In detail the site is easy enough to get to, very convenient to get around, and the only drawback is that, with the exception of a fairly small Co-op, the local shopkeepers seem to cater only for the coach/tourist trade. (If you want fish and chips, find your way to the local Indian – round the corner and down the steps.)
The main thing, though, is the friendliness and enthusiasm, even towards the end of a long season, of the manager and all his staff – without exception.
Thanks, guys – you deserve this rave!

Our second visit to this lovely site, we were once again welcomed by friendly and enthusiastic staff who quickly had us booked in and then escorted us to our pitch, the wardens unhitched and pushed our van quickly onto the pitch (without being asked), pointed out the service points and then enquired if we needed any help with anything else (we are not an elderly couple!) and we greatly appreciated this level of service. They did this for many other arriving visitors. The site is peaceful, clean and tidy and with only a short walk into the town it's in a great location. We'll be frequent visitors here! :)

Just spent a lovely 3 nights in this picturesque town. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful choosing a suitable pitch for my husband and I and our 4 year old twins. Our girls loved the fact we were shown to our pitch by "a man on a bicycle that had a bell"!
The toilets and showers were clean and adequate and an alternative toilet was available when main block was being cleaned. No play area for the children but plenty of grass to run around and parks within walking distance. There is a child friendly cafe/ garden shop with outdoor play area called the Green Frog next to campsite and they do a fantastic full english breakfast! There are lots of nice places for evening meals (some of which you receive discount vouchers for from the campsite) in Moffat, again all within walking distance.
Despite torrential rain during our stay, which did cause some pitches to become water logged for a short while, we had a fab wee break.

Staff very friendly, efficient and welcoming. They obviously work hard as a team to keep the site going throughout the year BUT the toilets are showing signs of their age and perhaps it is time the club put some investment into updating them: floor coverings are lifting and they generally look rather tired. For the number of visitors the site gets 52 weeks of the year it is inevitable that there will be a lot of wear and tear. It isn't really fair to expect the site manager and his team to be able to keep this ageing block in pristine condition!

Excellent Site. Very easy to get to, straight off the motorway, into Moffat and follow the signs. We arrived, with a caravan, at Reception, and greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. We noticed they were very keen to listen and take on board any problems or concerns visitors may have. They just want you have a good stay. Looking around reception, it was all clean and tidy with plenty of tourist leaflets and maps etc. We had no problems with our booking/paying, and we were escorted to our plot. We were close to the washrooms/toilets/dishwasing facilities, very handy for a quick dash when it's raining. All facilities kept very clean. Moffat town is just a few minutes walk away and has some reasonably priced meals on offer at the various hotels. There's also a good range of Pubs/Hotel Bars in town if you feel like some beer. If it's good old fashioned Fish 'n' Chips you're looking for then 'The Moffat Chippy' in Church Street (just off the the High Street) maybe what you re looking for. It's managed by an amazing lady called Toosh, who has been cooking chips for almost 80 years, so I guess they have got to be the best! The best I've had. There is a co op grocers shop nearby (out of the site entrance and across the coach park) for most of your daily needs. If you want to support the smaller retailers then there is a very good Butchers in Moffat's High Street (Wallace Bros.) So how about the site? The bottom line is, we just could not fault it and would definately return.

Really nice busy site with a friendly welcome and book-borrowing service (my favourite part)! Just a 5 minute walk onto Moffat high street where there are plenty of tourist and gift shops, pubs/restaurants and the famous Moffat Toffee Shop. Some of the pubs have deals with the club wehre get 10% off your meal when you show your C&CC receipt, which we took advantage of. We would definitely stay here again, the only downside was we went for showers at 11.10am to find they were closed for cleaning from 11am-12noon. 12noon was the time we had to vacate the site for, so we had to go without using the facilities. I was on my way up to the Scottish Highlands and this was a perfect place to stop. It takes no time to leave the motorway and find the site.
I received a very friendly welcome and everything was done to find me a suitable pitch, considering how saturated the ground was.
Being a keen walker, the site managers very helpfully lent me a map and advised me on a lovely, local, river walk.

arrived june 2012 as we arrived we had a shock we noticed water coming out of the fresh water tank having a look underneath the entire pipe work was missing
as ive got asbestosis it would be difficult for me to repair or run back up the road to try and locate the missing pipe
like gallant knights coming to our rescue we soon had an abundance of site wardens helping, of went one with grey stubble and cowboy type hat returned minutes later with missing pipe intact wow .then mr fix-it a small happy scotsman, under my van(remember the rain we have had , he didnt blink straight under motorhome )he was under awhile sizing the job up
wife and i think, great start to our holiday, and we waited nervously.
he climbed out knowing what he needed back soon back underneath and suddenly job was done this good samaritan rescued and saved our holiday thank you
the site was a first time visit and it happened to be the moffat classic car rally
site was busy but quiet , i liked the fact i could take a slow walk into moffat town and brouse the shops. a great site for touring the area we will certainly visit again

Had a lovely stay at Moffat on the way back from the north of Scotland. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble, even though it was very busy as it was the start of the Jubilee weekend. Moffat is a nice little town with plenty of shops, pubs etc. We found the area great for our lab pup, as there was a good dog walk on site and plenty of gentle, safe walks within the area. Also dog friendly pubs which is always a bonus. We will definitely return for a longer stay.

Outstanding site, helpful staff - we will definitely be returning.
Very impressed with high standard of service from the staff team who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Perfect balance of having a presence around the site without being intrusive. Staff remembered and accommodated our personal request regarding pitch location, and not only escorted us to our pitch but the wardens very kindly unhitched the caravan and had it positioned perfectly in no time at all.
Liked the information sheet you are given which includes information about where you are entitled to discount and various contact numbers should you require them. We had to call a vet, it turned out just for advice, but it was helpful having the contact number there.
The site is flat and spacious with plenty of room between caravans. Hardstanding pitches and plenty of grass around the site.
Toilet blocks kept very clean, plenty of hot water, good sized shower cubicles and several toilets. Didn’t feel busy, even though the site was full.
A couple of minutes walk and you are in Moffat which has places to eat, drink and a variety of shops. Personal favourites - 2 charity shops, the Moffat Shop where you can buy their famous toffee and a massive selection of “old style sweetie jars filled with all sorts†and a butcher (where we bought food for our BBQ). We had a drink in the Black Bull and saw food being served which looked lovely.
Station Park is a lovely little Park nearby with swan pedalos on a lake, a children’s carousel, ducks to feed etc.

Lovely site situated within walking distance of the lovely town of Moffat. Site wardens could not have been more friendly and helpful, we were made to feel very welcome. The site consists of spacious flat pitches and offers warm, clean facilities. The showers are lovely and warm with the added benefit of not having to keep pressing a button to keep the water flowing like some showers we have used!
Moffat offers lots of local, friendly pubs and cafes, and some great small shops to wander around. Whiskey tasting in Moffat Mill is a must. We also found a lovely park and boating lake at the back of Moffat Mill which would be great during warmer weather!
Many thanks for a pleasant weekend.

Just returned from 3 night stay over May Bank Holiday Weekend. Now been about 5 years in a row either Easter or May. Was allocated our favourite grassy pitch that we prefer over hardstanding for our caravan. Friendly welcome and liked being accompanied to pitch with a bit of help/advise for reversing in in new car to towing. Love the easy walking access into town from this site and load of eateries to enjoy and nice shops. Also like that this part of country is considerably more dog friendly with Buccleugh Hotel & Green Frog happy to let our pooch in whilst we ate. Both great for food and also like Claudios for evening meal. Only problem is the size of potholes in shared access road. Getting deeper & wider every year!!! Keep u good work on site & we'll def be back.

What a differance a Year makes!!! Well 2 years in fact - we last stayed here 2 yaers ago and it was in the process of being upgraded it was an absolute mud bath at the time with grass not cut and hard standing going in heavy plant machines etc. well what a wonderful surprise when we returned in May 2012 - we had only booked for an overnight stay as we were on our way home from our trip - the wardens are very friendly and helpful and offered information on the area and even gave vouchers for discounted meals at places in Moffat they helped us choose a suitable suuny pitch and even accommpanied us to the pitch and saw that we got pitched up ok -the site is now obviously well cared for and has a pleasent and relaxed feel to it - the shower/toilet facilites are not as modern as they could be but none the less they are clean warm and there is bags of hot water whenever you need it - we cannot wait to return - thanks guys for a lovely experience -

Just back from a two night weekend break with the kids. Very friendly welcome by the staff, shown to a nice pitch that they selected for us due to having the kids (away from the access road). Great facilities, I agree that the toilet block is dated, however it is still up there with the best, very clean and hot water that you don't need to press a button for. Easy walk to the coop and Moffat Toffee Shop!
The only downside was the signage to access the site, which in our opinion was very poor. Once off the main road we didn't know which fork on the road to take! Make sure you go left and then right keeping the childrens nursery on your right hand side! Other than that, a fab site and we'll be back!

Very convenient for overnighting, being close to the M74. We received a warm welcome from the team, who helpfully made two additional reservations for us at other Club sites in Scotland (it was a Sunday and the Central Reservations office was unavailable). They also made sure we were allocated a pitch that suited us at Moffat.
The site is large and close to town. Our only tiny frustration was the need to use a security code to access the toilets and showers. No doubt there is a valid reason, but being somewhat mature in years and also requiring reading glasses, it was slightly fiddly and inconvenient, especially after dark.
Otherwise, the location provided a welcome stopover. Thanks to all concerned for providing us with a pleasant visit.

Great site with easy access off the motorway, but don't just use as a stop over! Moffat was a lovely area with loads of walking and cycling direct from the site. I didn't get chance to try the forest mountain bike trails so will be back. The facilities were dated but spotless so don't be put off. The showers were piping hot and the design of the cubicles was better than many modern ones with loads of room and a good dry changing area. After many years with the Caravan Club this was our first time using a Caravan and Camping site. We could not have been welcomed more warmly by the wardens. This really did feel like the friendly club. Looking forward to finding more places like this!

We stayed at this site after a week at another club site. Arrived just after 12 with another family on a very busy Easter bank holiday wknd, great welcome by wardens who were rushed off their feet but booked in and shown to our pitch very quickly next to each other. There is a lovely garden centre 5mins walking distance from site we took all 5 children (ages 5-14) fishing there and they all managed to get a fish in 2hrs well worth a look. The down side to this site is it only has 4 showers and on a bank holiday wknd is not enough as you had to wait in the morning to get in and feel rushed to get out when you are trying to get yourself and 2 children all done together. There is plenty of hot water and loads of sinks and toilets so that was not a problem. This site is in the town and is handy to pop to the shops but didn’t like the fact that anyone could walk in to the site.(all the club sites we have been on have been out of the town a bit so not used to this)a bit noisy on site but nothing that would keep you up.

My wife and I have visited here many times now, it has gradually become more of an attraction to us as it is central for exploring the border area by car, bus or walking, as mood takes us. our most recent visit was intended to facilitate a hillwalking break for us unfortunately my wife suffered a nasty fall resulting in some fractures to her elbow and ribs (on a stroll along the river) our second day. The assistance we received from the local surgery and the site supervisors was excellent sympathetic and helpful. The friendly Site operators Mike, Christine and their colleagues helped to make up our minds to stay on (the good weather did help) Thanks to the friendly club once again. As regular pilgrims to the Moffat site, we enthusiastically endorse all the praise and highlights recommended by other visitors, especially with regard to staff charm, efficiency, and tireless care of both site and campers. The perfect geographical situation of the complex with its pleasant rural views, tranquillity, convenience shopping and dining, good TV, remarkable freedom from traffic noise, together with the wonderful variety of exploratory excursions available on the quiet roads of the surrounding beautiful countryside make Moffat our No. 1 campsite. We've compiled a sheet of suggested outings for campers who want to make Moffat more than a mere stop-over on the way north. There's enough to entertain stately home and culture lovers, garden explorers, walkers of all abilities, shoppers, serenity seekers, and even sedentary sightseers of the unusual and spectacular. We are just home from another wonderful visit to Moffat. The moment you arrive, the staff make you most welcome. The site is in the town with plenty of eating and drinking places. There are many great walks around the Moffat with varying distances for all ages and abilities. A most relaxing place.

This is a lovely site in a beautiful area, the town of Moffat is a gem. We ate at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel and the food was delicious and the s taff very friendly.
This area is well worth exploring, so don't use the site as just a stop off to the Highlands, stay a while and enjoy.

Always loved the town of Moffat and now use this site as stop over from visiting the Highlands. This time stayed a couple of nights and was delighted to find some lovely marked walks that are good for the dogs as the exercise area at the camp site is small but with lovely walks only 5 minutes away this no longer matters. Moffat is a nice little town with everything you need at hand. The site is one of the bigger ones but despite this is quiet. Although over 55 now I am sad that this large site can't find the space for a little toddlers play area as the one in the park is quite a way away for little feet. But for us it is ideal, not only as a stop over but to spend a few days exploring the very pretty area and an ideal site for those who want to visit Scotland but can't face the long journey to the Highlands as it has everything the Highlands have but just slightly smaller mountains - but the tallest waterfall in Britain - the Grey Mare's Tail.

Really liked this site. Have been before and both times have found the staff very helpful, with some great recommendations for eating in the town. Moffat is a lovely little town and the site is only a short walk from the centre. As others have mentioned, the shower block is in need of some updating, but is spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water.
A great stop off, right at the side of the motorway, when travelling to and from the Highlands. Would also highly recommend Claudios Italian Restaurant who offer a great two course deal between 5.30 and 6.30pm a few minutes walk from the site.

The Moffat site is perfect for that overnight stop en route to the Highlands, but whereas Moffat and the surrounding area is pretty, the club site gets more and more surrounded by buildings each time we visit. The dog walk is enclosed but very short and next to a fast flowing beck.

This site was chosen as we have 2 dogs. the dog walks although small were more than adequate as the countryside was on the doorstep. The staff were friendly and very helpful with suggestions of where to visit.
The camp site is very central to the shops although maintains a countryside feel to it.
The shower block was more than adequate with lots of hot water.
This is definately a site we will visit in the future.

This is our favourite site, we have visited several times and we just love it. the staff are brilliant, really friendly, and helpful. The toilets and showers are fine, clean and adequate. And the site is 2 minutes walk from the co-op and the town centre. great food and friendly pubs. There are loads of good walks around the village. My only negative is nothing to do with the site. Why do some dog owners think that the whole world wants to hear their yappy Dogs. One Lady had three Dogs who yapped all day. She might think they are cute but i dont. A dog bounded up to my daughter one day on the site and the owner shouted, its OK it wont hurt you.. Thats not the point GET IT ON A LEAD.
I actually like Dogs but some people give dog owners a Bad name.
Otherwise, Brilliant holiday

First time at this site and we had a very warm welcome. The staff were so hard working, very friendly, helpful and informative, just what you need. Very good location for less mobile people as only short walk into the town with plenty of shops etc. A very busy site with 7 members of staff working flat out all day and not a frown in sight.
Facilities were dated but very clean and not a problem for us. Nice to have separate area in shower for getting dressed, hate all those little white stools and no dry changing area. Nothing to do with this site but
please why do you have to pay 20p on C& C sites for hairdryer when all other electric included. Not only that but it timed out before my 'short' hair was dry. Would definitely go here again if travelling North. We know there will be a warm welcome.

The site wardens were all extremely friendly making us feel welcome. If we met them when out and about on site they took time to speak to us.
Site facilities were very clean with all the amenities we required.
Site greatly upgraded since we were last there at the end of 2009.
The town is only a few minutes walk from the site with everything we required.
We have recommended this site to friends since our visit, we intend to go back for a long weekend before winter sets in.

On arrival on a very busy weekend we were shown to our pitch and unhitched the caravan. We quickly realised we had been given a potentially very noisy pitch, as a large group of campers with lots of children were directly behind us. As one of our children has special needs (and finds it hard to get to sleep at the best of times), I returned to reception to ask if a quieter pitch was available. I explained the situation and one of the wardens (tall, slim, friendly - sorry, didn't catch his name!) went out of his way to help. Not only did he find us a perfectly quiet pitch, but he even went and got his little tractor and actually moved our caravan himself! Five star service indeed and very much appreciated.

A clean and well maintained site with helpful, friendly staff. The pitches are well spaced with easy access. Lots of pebbled hard-standing surrounded by manicured grass. The loo block was spotlessly clean but could do with 2 more showers and fewer wash basins to help ease the morning rush. Nice views of a field of sheep, trees and hills, but right beside town for shops/food/drink. The wardens gave us lots of helpful info on what to see and do and we had lovely weather which made for a great break. Thanks for your help.

We are just back from another great stay at Moffat. This is a wonderful place with staff to match; they are friendly, helpful and make you feel really welcome. The site is part of the small town of Moffat with all the facilities anyone needs. Great marked walks from the site from a few miles to a good walk. There is only one small BUT, the toilet facilities are all out of proportion to peoples requirements. Seven toilets, ten sink units and only four showers, six of each would be more appropriate.

I have stayed at Moffat many times and love the site, we usually try to make it our first trip of the season. This is the first time we have stayed with our large tent and requested EHU in addition. Unfortunately the site don't do jumbo pithes with EHU but we were given the option of paying for 2 pitches, which we gladly agreed to do. We arrived after 24 hours of heavy rain and were shown to our pitch. It was just off one of the roads through the site and therefore visibly sitting in one of the very few dips on the site. I did ask the gentleman guiding us if we could pitch immediately opposite but this was dismissed without discussion (shame as no-one else pitched there for the duration of our stay). We were told very specifically and rather patronisingly where to pitch - having a corner marked for us. We began to pitch and realised that there was a 2 foot pool of water in the middle of the pitch. We just moved our tent over slightly to avoid this. Unfortuantely we then had a good deal of rain for the rest of the day and night. This found us surrounded by water and our tent in a muddy bog. Now I am very aware no site is responsible for the weather but I have never expereiced mud like this at any site before and certainly not at this flat well drained site. The pitch I had expressed a preference for remained dry the whole time. Aside of this dissapoitment, most of the team there are extremely friendly, Christine is particularly helpful. The facilities are immaculate and it is very handy for the delightful small town. The Buccleuch Hotel offer superb food. The surrounding area was beautiful as ever. Will visit again but will avoid pitch 100 like the plague.

We have stayed at this site several times and have always found it to be a very friendly, clean site. The managers are very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the access road to the site which is full of extremely large and deep potholes. Because the road is narrow and has a few sharp bends it is extremely difficult to avoid these holes, especially with a large caravan outfit. These holes are present from previous years and now require urgent attention.

We have been to moffat on a couple of occasions and have enjoyed each visit. The road into the site is a bit narrow so be aware of oncoming traffic round the tight bends. The site itself is flat, clean and tidy and the staff take you to your pitch. Toilet block is nice and central and also very clean and tidy. Never an issue with hot water. We have a baby too and use of the baby change facilities as a private room was fantastic. Our only complaint was the passing of comment by a female member of staff regarding our membership being part of the Fife DA. As this is the area (and a large one at that) this is where we belong to. She then promptly asked if we had ever been out with them before and to ensure that we tidy up after ourselves since in the past there have been issues with Fife DA members!!! A bit rude to tar everyone with the same brush. Otherwise a nice wee site minus the comments.

We can give nothing but praise for this site and the wonderful staff that run it. Mike and Andy have gone out of their way during the recent storms that have hit Moffat, They visited our caravan over 8 times within the last 3 days to make sure that our awning was secure and our elderly parents who we using the caravan at the time were ok, above and beyond their call of duty.
The site is lovely and clean and well looked after. The town of Moffat is less that 2 minutes walk away with various eating houses and sweet shop that made our sons eyes pop out.
This is our third visit within the last 12 months and we will definately be back. In fact if it wasn't a 5 hour round time from our home I would visit this site every weekend.

Friendly site and very convenient for the town of Moffat, only 2 mins walking to shops and hotels. However the access road is poor with large potholes and very narrow in places - impossible to pass if another unit or lorry approaching. Site is well maintained but the facilities extremely poor. Old,cold and totally inadequate shower facilities. Only 4 showers in the ladies - and only 3 operational for the 8 days we stayed. When I queried this was told "waiting on a plumber" - for 8 days? And why is the toilet block only heated at the weekends, Friday pm to Sunday?? It was raining and cold for the whole of our stay - not just the weekend.

Having booked early for November 2010 and looked forward to our visit, it was a major dissappointment. This was our first outing ever!!! We had booked with friends and they received a call to say some work was being cariied out on site, we however had no notification whatsoever - What an understatement. The site groundworks are being fully refurbished. We had a Tarmac machine outside our caravans on one of the mornings at 8.30am (not ideal, this I add was squeezed past my friends car. No of the staff notified us of this and one customer was held up for over an hour trying to exit the site. Going for showers semed pointless as you ended up covered in mud by the time you got back to your caravan feeling as if you needed a further shower. The dog walks weren't ideal, the end of one of them looked like a building site, my 2 dogs had to stay on their leads. This was frustrating as we had mentioned we had large dogs who need exercise daily. I only wish we had known the extent of work being done, we could have booked alternate dates. I am sure we will visit again at a later date, but never again to a site that is having any work done. The lack of information gven before our visit was appalling. However on a good note I am sure the site will be lovely when finished. Yes, I will visit again, staff very friendly.

I rejoined the club after several years break and now both retired so able to take advantage of age concessions
We would not have booked on line as we were unaware until arrival that building work was in progress, Monday to Friday, increasing hard standing capacity, revamping power and services points.
However, other than the wake up call at 8 each morning, the noise of digger, dump truck, and reversing beepers at times, there was no undue impact.
We both enjoyed our stay and will probably visit again excellent amenities, warm and clean
friendly, helpful staff but DO use the site entrance map from the main road.

The site book is accurate. It is only a few miles from the motorway.
The town of Moffat is nice and has plenty of facilities.
The lane to the site is very narrow and badly in need of repair.
As this lane is used by those other than camp site users I guess there might be some difficulty about who pays for road repairs.
Only a five minute walk into town. Definitely worth a visit.

We used this site to use as a stopover on our way north and stopped here for a couple of nights , it is very convenient for Moffat town centre a five minute walk from site , which is a nice little town with all the shops you would require and more , next to the site is the Hammerlands centre which is a small garden centre and fishing lakes ,it also has a café that does decent meals , just out of the entrance is the Edinburgh Woollen mill site , with its usual range of merchandise .the site its self is a lovely flat site which is larger with 180 pitches than its appearance makes it look , and the facilities are up to normal C&CC club standards , this site would be ok for short stays but I didn’t find enough in the area to make me want to come back for a longer stay ,, there was a decent dog walking field at the entrance , but there was plenty of walks from the site anyway although you would need to keep dog on lead
