Staff who run this site are friendly and most welcoming, site is tidy and well laid out ,what lets it down are the out of date shower block and general amenities, although shower blocks were old they were clean ,outside door didn't shut as it was missing a latch water at washbasins were hot but the shower was tepid with no temp control ,the push button system on shower only allowed water to flow for a max of 5 seconds which made the experience of having a shower annoying ,previous campers had used a number of methods ie tie raps elastic bands and string which were still attached to the pipes to improve the water flow ,this shower block is well below the standard of any camping and caravan club site I have visited , the lack of investment let's this site down .

Just arrived back from 3 nights at Mablethorpe, excellent in very way, the showers are adequate, I managed quite well to shower myself and my 2 year old easily, and the toilets are of a suitable size, I am a "larger" lady and used the facilities with a 2 year old in tow no problems. Toilets, dishwashing facilities etc all immaculate, the play area was great, gave both my kids somewhere to play. The Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I think comments made from other people about the size of the facilities are probably from people who forget they are "CAMPING" and think they are on a deluxe holiday!! Fantastic time had by all will definitely go again, and take the caravan - trial run for the tent this time round. Thank you very much to the staff

First time out in the motorhome and was not sure what to expect. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Site was clean and the shower facilities adequate. As we enjoy walking we found the location ideal for what we wanted and would revisit this site. We found other campers very friendly and keen to give advice to novices like ourselves. Would recommend

We just love this site, and use it as a bolthole for short breaks.
A 20 minute walk to the sea front then a wonderful walk along the front to Sutton on Sea,no matter what the weather is doing.
Take the bicycles and ride up to the Donkey sanctuary or the seal sanctuary.

We stayed at the site with our two young grandchildren and had a wonderful time, the children really enjoyed the play area and made lots of new friends.
The staff were polite and helpful, the facilities were clean and the site was well kept. Having a motor home we walked to town and the beach each day which was a pleasant level stroll, of about 25 minutes and even the four year old walked all the way quite easily, and had lots of fun on the fantastic beach.
I cannot understand the complaints about this site, it is,after all, a camp site, and not an hotel, if you want hotel facilities then go stay in an hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay there and will be returning again soon.

My 6 yr old son & I have just spent 11 nts on this site & we had a fab time, staff were very friendly & helpful. As for the shower block & toilets they were a bit grubby but more than useable, staff kept them very clean even at 10.30pm when Pam was giving them an extra going over. They are having new block being done in Oct. The walk to the beach and town was only 15 mins away, the Seal Sanctuary is a must to go to. We will be back next year and hopefully we wont get lost on the way there next time

We visited this site last week,we chose it because of the location, being near to the beach.
I was a little worried After reading the other reviews abt the toilet blocks, but thought we old see for ourselves.
The park wardens were were friendly on arrival,we were shown to a few pitches for us to choose from, and pitched very easily.
Children went off to play on the equipment which was great.
The only downside was the toilet block,it was very dated, and although the toilets wre were ok,the showers werent that nice,it was a shame as it didn't look like it would take that much to sort them out,a real shame,we did use them but compared to some of the other sites we have visited they were a bit of a disappointment .
Having said this it wouldn't put us off visiting again as it was a perfect location

I went for a week in the tent with two young children. I was aprehensive about the site after reading the reviews on here about the showers and toilets. Upon opening the door to the toilet block I was pleaantly surprised. They were FINE. Plenty of toilets and four showers. The shower curtains were changed while I was there and the only fault with them is the one soap dispenser. The shower hose came off the wall so ideal for showering kids. The wardens regulary checked the block, even at 10.45pm. They are clean and functional. You are at a campsite, if you wanted perfection, stay at a 5 star hotel. After having various chats with the wardens they are having the block refurbished at the end of October (all being well after a visit from the estate department). The site is great for cycling and walking into town and the beach. Great drainage and good little playground for over 3's. Would go again.

just returned from 3 nights camping on this site, could be a little goldmine if attention to detail was provided, the site itself was clean, short mown grass, tidy, friendly staff ect... however the shower/toilet block needs a desperate revamp, seemed liked a glorified portacabin, no room to swing a cat, very unsightly showers, mouldy shower seal, also couldn't understand why its closed for cleaning between 10.30 am til 12pm!! didn't look any different when re-opened.overall its a real shame a little money can't be spent to upgrade it, did have higher expectations from c & c club .

This was our first time out with a caravan and after reading reviews we were a little worried, however we had a good time and found the site good, we had trouble with our gas through lack of experience and the staff were soon out to help us without making us feel stupid, we will certainly be returning. From leaving there we went to a 5star site in North Wales, we had booked a double hard standing and on arriving were told we were on grass, there were no apologies, the showers were cold, and it was £15 a night more expensive, the beach was danderous and we were unable to get on it, there brochures were very misleading, wewont be returning there.

I really don't understand why everyone is complaining about this site. It's straightforward to get to, the grass is short and well kept and the facilities are clean and provide everything you should need, including a free hot shower and unmetered electric (which can be a rarity in some parts). As one person said 'It's not meant to be the Ritz...'. I imagine plumbing problems would tick me off if I was in a tent, and a family group would struggle to keep the kids amused at this particular site, but otherwise its an excellent (cheap!) base for the Mablethorpe/Skegness region and I'd come again. If you're still nervous, try a short stay here first to allay your fears....or on second thoughts, don't, and then there will be more space for me :)

Would benefit from some new shower sealant which was a bit discoloured but hardly needs a total refurbishment as suggested by others! There was a problem with the drains during our stay which could have been a big problem with those in tents, caravan facilities became very useful over two days!!! All in all a very well situated site for walking into town and very friendly staff at the site.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Mablethorpe. Would we go again NO, the shower/toilet block is very inadequate for a site of this size, only 4 showers which are exceptionally small with old fittings, black mould around the seals, the toilets were clean but again with very small cubicles with the tissue holder taking half the space up !!!!!! in need of a desperate refurbishment, on two occassions the block was closed due to plumbing problems - not good at all. The road into and around the site is full of holes and the grass could have done with a good cut. Staff friendly enough.

Just come back after the jubilee weekend. Facilities on site are the worst c&c site iv'e been on.This site is in urgent need for the club to spend some money and update. The roads were all pot holed, there is a real lack of facilities (only 2 very old water points for the entire site), The chemical toilet disposal was blocked, dirty and in need of a total replacement. The toilet block looked like something off the carry on camping films. All in all very disappointed. Come on Camping and Caravan club....Spend some of your money and clean up this site!....It looks bad for your image and lets you Down!!!

Having booked this holiday in March I was eagerly awaiting our Jubilee break to Mablethorpe, hoping to recreate some fond childhood memories for my family. Sadly the break did not live up to expectation. I happily ignored the reviews, keen to have an open mind - sadly most of the comments we too experienced. The toilet block is shabby, however this really doesn't bother us, camping isn't a hotel experience. My issue more that there is only 1 block for the entire site and these are very below par to cope with the demand of the Jubilee campers. The toilets are clean but there is not enough of them or the showers, the dishwashing facilities, 3 sinks but only 2 working! Had been like this all week according to another camper who had been 1 of only 8 units in the week leading up to the weekend. Surely with little demand during that time, it could have been fixed? Moving on, the welcome was not great, immediately told to move off incase of blocking up the entrance, only for us to move and someone replaces us, simply not enough room to cope with the high demand of a busy weekend. The computers were down so they were stretched, however a smile goes a long way.... the wardens were great at locating us near family, that cannot be faulted, it did seem a little mish mashed with a jumble of motor homes, caravans and tents all in one space, but this worked for us. The camp was quiet by around 10, this didn't stop noisy neighbours keeping our daughter awake up until that point however. Rain sadly led us to leave 2 days early due to the tent leaking, we packed up, had lunch with family and by the time we left an hour or so later our pitch had already been given up to a new set of campers. Sadly we won't be back to the Mablethorpe site any time soon, this site did not impress us.

The site facilities are poor. The shower block was cold, the showers can at best be described as luke warm. We stayed here for 3 nights at Easter 2012. We booked online quite late on and it wtill had availability. We were on a grass pitch with electric, hardstandings also available. The pitch was level and the grass in good condition.
The site was easy to find and the gate was open to let us drive straight in and park just after reception.
Check in was easy and welcoming and then we were taken down behind the lawn mower to our pre-assigned pitch. The warden told us about the toilets, toilet disposal and waste water dump. The waste water dump isn't a driveover as such, its a grate to be lifted and there is a piece of drain pipe you can use from your outlet to get above the hole.
The site was quite, but was pretty full, maybe the easter rain kept people in doors.
We walked to the town in sunshine breaks and had a look at the beach. It's a typical English seaside resort with arcade, funfair, shops etc. We went to Daves Restaurant on Sunday for sunday dinner. I found it on trip advisor and it was a nice meal. We got there just before 12 and it was already nearly full. Large selection of roast dinners plus other meals.
The site has a childrens adventure slide in one of the fields, away from the main touring area.
The toilets were quite small and obviously not brand new, they could probably do with a refurb. The standard toilet was quite narrow but useable. The showers were ok, the button needs to be held down constantly though. There was always hot water.
Trip was good, relaxing for us and we had no real wishes to do lots of things - just to be away in the van.

Lovely flat countryside site. Despite the gale force winds one night we enjoyed our holiday. Great for walking and cycling to seaside. Mablethorpe is proper seaside with donkeys, rock, arcades and beautiful beaches. Double yolk eggs for sale on site were very tasty. Toilets/showers were clean and well maintained, but in need of update. Have been to sites with new facilities and think that Mablethorpe deserves abit of funding for the toilet block.

Our Mablethorpe visit (Club member) reviewed Mablethorpe Club Campsite...
After visiting this site, I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews. We arrived and had nowhere to park to check in. I was directed onto a bumpy grass area next to the lane, which is not much to complain about whilst dry, but would have bogged a caravan down if wet. If you stay on the lane no one can pass. Our pitch was fine and although the lane leading in was in disrepair, the hard standing pitches looked pretty new. Toilets and showers were grubby even after cleaning and the chemical toilet was a make shift broken loo. The washing machine is old and no good. After being a few quid down, our clothes weren't much cleaner but a lot wetter! The whole block could do with a good update. The site maybe ok for a very short break, but I would not recommend it.

Good Points
Site is flat and reasonably sheltered with well spaced pitches. Staff were welcoming and friendly and did an excellent job of trying to keep the dated facilities clean. Play area for children looks new and seemed to be popular.
Access to Mablethorpe is an easy walk where there are a couple of large supermarkets. Mablethorpe is an acquired taste but quieter beaches are just down the coast at Anderby Creek (Moggs Eye) or north at Theddlethorpe.
Bad Points
Showers - no temperature control / no pressure and old fashioned style - cutout every few seconds - facilities are also closed for cleaning for 90 minutes in the middle of the morning - would be better if it was in the afternoon.
Dog walk - just a small strip of grass - bit more imagination needed but not a huge problem with beaches being close by.
In summary a nice site that desperately needs its showering facilities upgrading.

Yet another lovely break at the Mablethorpe site which we have visited yearly over the past few years.. Friendly welcome as usual, with a clean well kept site. The shower block and wash facilities are showing more than a little wear and tear and need updating. Please bear in mind that we are not all twiggy and alittle elbow room would not go amiss in the cubicles, also slightly raised wc's for our older generation as they struggle getting upright again.tiled shower floors would possibly help with getting rid of excess water like those seen at the Boroughbridge site, this would aid the cleaning for the hard working waldens. Also the approach road from the office to the shower block is very uneven and doesn't show the site off to it's best.Nice new play structure for the smaller children. My thanks to the site wardens for another relaxing stay and we look forward to visiting again in 2012.

This is a clean well run site. The Wardens are excellent and put a great deal of effort into the site. There are however two areas that let the site down the first is the roadway between the two field this does not give a good first impression to the site. The second cause for concern is the Toilet Block and Chemical Disposal Point both are very dated, the Toilet Block is showing signs of damp and rot, also when and if the block is upgraded could consideration be given to the size of the cubicles. Apart from the above we have enjoyed the site for several years and will be returning again.

Ten minute walk from a beutiful blue flag beach, 15 minute drive from Skegness. After reading other reviews, I still decided to give it a go. Asked about staying later on departure day as there was something on that day I was meant to be leaving that I wanted to so, and was told yes when I booked. Thi sbeing the only reason I booked here. Well I was then kicked me off in the morning meaning I missed out on a family event as they wouldnt even let me park up in the storage area rite on the main enterance. THANKS for that. I asked at least 3 times about this to over the weekend and was told I could stay. Quality service at its best. NOT.!!!
I laughed at the comments about the toilets and showers and the fact some people should be in hotels expecting to much from camping. Well I at least expect to feel clean when I come out the shower not more dirty than when I entered. They are grim need new shower curtains just the thought of it touching my skin made it crawl and the rust and ground in grime cleaning properly. If you have any hygine standards then you will agree. Will never use this site again. It was 1st time with club and I just hope the others are better, or I have wasted my money.

I found my stay very pleasent. staff were very friendly and inviting. would recommend to anyone. I have 2 children one of 5 and 1 of 2, the play area was sufficient as they played on there most of the day. it kept them very entertained. plenty to do in the town which is only a short distance from the site. Shower and toilet block are very clean. infact the whole site is. Hats off to the staff. would defently go again.

We read other campers comments before
holiday, some adverse. We are glad we made the decision to find out for ourselves.
Pleasantly surpised by clean, spacious,
open peaceful site. Some facilities could
do with improvement but are acceptable.
Site staff very helpful and frendly.
Would not hesitate to use site again.

Nice location, lovely cheerful and helpful staff and friendly fellow campers. I'm nitpicking on the facilities though - the shower push buttons cut out after 5 seconds on one shower and 8 seconds on the other i tried - if they could make it 20 or 30 seconds i'd have given it 5 stars, as everything else was great!

This weekend was the first time we have used our caravan which was all new to us but we needn't of worried the people on the site were really helpful and showed us what to do.We had a lovely time and cannot wait to book another.Just like to say thanks to all who give us advise.

Lovely friendly site and staff, close enough to the seaside without being on the beach. The only thing which stopped me rating 5 on facilities was the showers could be better, but we are campers not hotel visitors. Looking at past reviews i dont know what people want from a campsite perhaps they would be better off selling their unit and staying in a hotel. Going back in July

Just had a fantastic week at this site. This is the second time using this site. We enjoyed our first week last year so much that we returned this year with another week book for August. We took a teenager and 5 little dogs and the site is well laid out and plenty of space between units which is important to us. The site agents are really freindly and very helpful. Mablethorpe is a seaside town that hasn't been spoilt. Easy biking to the beach, a day in a beach hut what more do you want from a holiday. Very clean tidy site. Can't wait for the next week. Thank you for making our holiday so good.

We thought this would be ideal for the beech. It isn't. The shop is poorly stocked, reception not manned, The ladies toilet has one cubicle broken and no sign of any repair, just a sign saying it is under way. The disposal of chemical waste is a broken loo with a short hose pipe, that is it. The children's area is one compact play area with nowhere for adults to sit and supervise. Don't think of walking your dog, nothing on site. There are great big wind farm things in the landscape and we walked to the next site to get milk as the shop was still closed at 9am. Truely disappointing and expensive at nearly £44 for 2 nights.

After reading the site reviews just two days before we departed from home , I was in two minds to cancel , I am so glad we did not as the site turned out to be one of the best we have visited in a number of years .
Every body was so friendly from the time we arrived until the time we left.
The facilities were what you would expect at one of the club sites , very clean and well presented.
Its only 15 minutes walk into the middle of the town with plenty of shops, pubs , and restraunts .
10 Minutes to the sea and only a short drive to Skegness.
The only review i read and would strongly agree with is that the wind is very strong coming straight of the coast (hense the wind farm to the rear of the site) so if you are using a tent make sure you have decent pegs .
All in all a very good family site .

Pleasant site with a friendly welcome. the pitch areas were nice and level, the whole site very tidy. perhaps the showers are a bit out of date however they were spotlessly clean, as were the toilets. Don't understand what the complaint about the Elsan disposal is - it was a proper flushing facility with the usual hose for swilling down - seemed OK to me.

Having read other people's comments, I wonder what they expect for their money. We didn't notice anything particularly wrong with the site and if we had, we would have reported it so that remedial action could be taken, not advertised it on the internet. With regard to cleanliness, the facilities were cleaned every day and I would suspect that their condition was due to the habits of the people who used them. Whilst the drive was not of motorway standard, I feel that the person who complained may need some attention to his vehicles rear suspension. We shall certainly be visiting again.

The site is within easy walking distance of Mablethorpe where there are good connections by bus to other Lincolnshire seaside resorts and the Lincolnshire Wolds. There are two camping areas which are well laid out with mainly open aspect sunny pitches and a few shadier pitches. The only negative comment is that the one shower/toilet block is in a 'portabcabin' type of structure and although clean, the shower/toilet cubicles are very small and cramped. The CDP is also primitive and in desperate need of some TLC. In summary a nice site which is spoiled by the somewhat dated facilities which belong more to the middle of the last century and which is in dire need of investment.

Friendly welcome from site staff, plenty of room for kids to play, ours played cricket on the field its so big. Well organised and spaced out for caravans. Ideal for the coast, great location. The only drawback and the reason we won't be going to this site again is the toilet / shower block, especially the ladies. We were there at bank holiday at the end of April and only 3 showers worked, one toilet was leaking water too and there was a hole in the wall, not very pleasant and in desperate need of modernising.

As expected the site at Mablethorpe provided excellent value and ideally suited for a short restorative break. Perfect for visiting the seaside resort and touring the east coast.
Facilities for camping are more than adequate, as it in itself is a basic way to holiday - you take as much comfort as you need or can carry.
With a short walk - twenty minutes - to the sea or similar into the town itself - with everything there you could need.
The site was surprisingly quiet for a Bank Holiday weekend allowing plenty of space for each tent or caravan, and shelter from the winds from the coast.
The site is well looked after and managers on hand if any problem should arise.
Happy to recommend and likely to revisit shortly.

Although I enjoyed my walks along the seemingly endless beach I will not be returning to this site because the facilities block is really shabby and was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The site was not full and especially so early in the season I would expect things to be spick and span. There was a hole in the wall of the Ladies!

Having come to this site regularly for the last 6 years, the toilet and shower blocks are now in desparate need of redevelopment. A bank holiday weekend when site was almost full and only 3 working showers in ladies not good. While I could use my own facilities, the people camping, some with small children were stuck with them. This site seems to have been completely over looked. So will be going elsewhere till some work is done to improve things. 2 out of 5

I must say we really enjoyed this site, yes it is quite basic, but thee were plenty of facilities for our 5yr old son a short distance from the camp. You don't go camping and expect to find facilities like a 5 star hotel.
This will most likely be the first site we visit this year.
Just a shame it rained from 2am the day we left.

It's about time that the site roadways were repaired / replaced - I managed to catch my towbar on the same pothole almost every time (road too narrow too avoid easily as I crossed 'bridge' into the flat field); and the washroom facilities are 'tired' and not up to the usual Club standards!! However, the (super) beach is within walking distance, which makes up for some, but not all, of the site's shortcomings!

Despite this being on the coast we did not quite realise how exposed to the elements we would be... until we saw the wind farm right next to the site. The facilities were basic to say the least, a portacabin which was clean but not great. Dog walk was a strip of land next to a far larger area supposedly for ball games. A dog is not going to pee if there is a ball to be had! On the plus side. beaches were absolutely fantastic and the site is within easy walking distance of the town and the coast. Staff were friendly.

After being a club member for a couple of years, I was very disappointed with this site! The showering facilities where awful. It was never clean (maybe we where unlucky on the times we showered) the water was never hot enough (never mind even being slightly warm). If you have a young family, I really wouldn't bother unless you like to drive everywhere!

We are lively over 60's and all we can say about this site is the atmosphere is as flat as the pitches. We have never visited a site where there has been no buzz.Althouh the second field was nearly full with caravans and campervans nobody ventured out or spoke to anybody else certainly not a good advertisment for "the friendly club". We have put this down to the majority of folk on site taking advantage of age concessions (ourselves included) The toilet block was clean and adequate the shower cubicles very small and definately in need of refurbishment. they were cleaned daily between 10.30 -12 although were usually finished by 11.30 but if you wanted a lie in with leisurely breakfast it was difficult to make it before cleaning time commenced so we showered in the van. On arrival we got very little information about the site or surrounding area/facalities and when asked where we could obtain caravan spares got a curt reply with no directions. Mablethorpe is for those who like tack mostly cheap shops and cafes athough the beach is stunning. Had we not had a problem with our car we would have been away well before the 8 nights we had booked.
