After visiting this site, I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews. We arrived and had nowhere to park to check in. I was directed onto a bumpy grass area next to the lane, which is not much to complain about whilst dry, but would have bogged a caravan down if wet. If you stay on the lane no one can pass. Our pitch was fine and although the lane leading in was in disrepair, the hard standing pitches looked pretty new. Toilets and showers were grubby even after cleaning and the chemical toilet was a make shift broken loo. The washing machine is old and no good. After being a few quid down, our clothes weren't much cleaner but a lot wetter! The whole block could do with a good update. The site maybe ok for a very short break, but I would not recommend it.

i have been going to this site for many years and love it, but the only trouble now is the facilities are very tired and not quite big enough now the site is extended. the shower and toilet block together with the washing area is mould, old and rotting, this lovely site REALLY deserves a new purpose built block, i am afraid to say i dont think i will be going back untill it is done and i have been going here for over 10 years, it is the only thing that lets it down

we have been in the club for a long time and stayed at some very excellent sites but this one totally lets the club down as well as the people of mablethorpe . we were both very disgusted with the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, not completely down to the ancient toilet block .we will never visit this site again until a complete refurbishment is done and some friendly fresh faces ie:- wardens with a friendly attitude and some idea of how cleanliness is presentated

I AGREE WITH A LOT OF THE OTHER COMMENTS, THE ROAD NEEDS REPAIRING, ALSO TOILETS NEED UPDATING, WE VISIT ABOUT TWICE A YEAR STAYING FOR AT LEAST 2WEEKS, AND ENJOY IT, IF THE ROAD WAS MADE BETTER, AND TOILETS UPGRADED IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER

Good Points
Site is flat and reasonably sheltered with well spaced pitches. Staff were welcoming and friendly and did an excellent job of trying to keep the dated facilities clean. Play area for children looks new and seemed to be popular.
Access to Mablethorpe is an easy walk where there are a couple of large supermarkets. Mablethorpe is an acquired taste but quieter beaches are just down the coast at Anderby Creek (Moggs Eye) or north at Theddlethorpe.
Bad Points
Showers - no temperature control / no pressure and old fashioned style - cutout every few seconds - facilities are also closed for cleaning for 90 minutes in the middle of the morning - would be better if it was in the afternoon.
Dog walk - just a small strip of grass - bit more imagination needed but not a huge problem with beaches being close by.
In summary a nice site that desperately needs its showering facilities upgrading.

This campsite was excellent, toilet and shower block very clean and the staff there were fantastically helpful. Everyone really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped with all of the mistakes we had made as we were totally new to camping.
Mablethorpe beach is fantastic, very clean but seems to be infested with ladybirds, but as insects go they were harmless and pretty.
All in all a great first camping trip, would definately recommend.

Yet another lovely break at the Mablethorpe site which we have visited yearly over the past few years.. Friendly welcome as usual, with a clean well kept site. The shower block and wash facilities are showing more than a little wear and tear and need updating. Please bear in mind that we are not all twiggy and alittle elbow room would not go amiss in the cubicles, also slightly raised wc's for our older generation as they struggle getting upright again.tiled shower floors would possibly help with getting rid of excess water like those seen at the Boroughbridge site, this would aid the cleaning for the hard working waldens. Also the approach road from the office to the shower block is very uneven and doesn't show the site off to it's best.Nice new play structure for the smaller children. My thanks to the site wardens for another relaxing stay and we look forward to visiting again in 2012.

This is a clean well run site. The Wardens are excellent and put a great deal of effort into the site. There are however two areas that let the site down the first is the roadway between the two field this does not give a good first impression to the site. The second cause for concern is the Toilet Block and Chemical Disposal Point both are very dated, the Toilet Block is showing signs of damp and rot, also when and if the block is upgraded could consideration be given to the size of the cubicles. Apart from the above we have enjoyed the site for several years and will be returning again.

Had a fantastic time here and have booked to stay again in August 2011. Really good for a family break as plenty in the area to do, no matter what the weather. Ten minute walk from a beutiful blue flag beach, 15 minute drive from Skegness. Mablethorpe town centre has a tourist information office where you can pick up leaflets for plenty of local attractions. Kids loved it so much that when offer a week abroad all inclusive or a week camping at this Mablethorpe site......we have booked to camp !!!!

After reading other reviews, I still decided to give it a go. Asked about staying later on departure day as there was something on that day I was meant to be leaving that I wanted to so, and was told yes when I booked. Thi sbeing the only reason I booked here. Well I was then kicked me off in the morning meaning I missed out on a family event as they wouldnt even let me park up in the storage area rite on the main enterance. THANKS for that. I asked at least 3 times about this to over the weekend and was told I could stay. Quality service at its best. NOT.!!!
I laughed at the comments about the toilets and showers and the fact some people should be in hotels expecting to much from camping. Well I at least expect to feel clean when I come out the shower not more dirty than when I entered. They are grim need new shower curtains just the thought of it touching my skin made it crawl and the rust and ground in grime cleaning properly. If you have any hygine standards then you will agree. Will never use this site again. It was 1st time with club and I just hope the others are better, or I have wasted my money.

I found my stay very pleasent. staff were very friendly and inviting. would recommend to anyone. I have 2 children one of 5 and 1 of 2, the play area was sufficient as they played on there most of the day. it kept them very entertained. plenty to do in the town which is only a short distance from the site. Shower and toilet block are very clean. infact the whole site is. Hats off to the staff. would defently go again.

Nice location, lovely cheerful and helpful staff and friendly fellow campers. I'm nitpicking on the facilities though - the shower push buttons cut out after 5 seconds on one shower and 8 seconds on the other i tried - if they could make it 20 or 30 seconds i'd have given it 5 stars, as everything else was great!

Lovely friendly site and staff, close enough to the seaside without being on the beach. The only thing which stopped me rating 5 on facilities was the showers could be better, but we are campers not hotel visitors. Looking at past reviews i dont know what people want from a campsite perhaps they would be better off selling their unit and staying in a hotel. Going back in July

Just had a fantastic week at this site. This is the second time using this site. We enjoyed our first week last year so much that we returned this year with another week book for August. We took a teenager and 5 little dogs and the site is well laid out and plenty of space between units which is important to us. The site agents are really freindly and very helpful. Mablethorpe is a seaside town that hasn't been spoilt. Easy biking to the beach, a day in a beach hut what more do you want from a holiday. Very clean tidy site. Can't wait for the next week. Thank you for making our holiday so good.

We thought this would be ideal for the beech. It isn't. The shop is poorly stocked, reception not manned, The ladies toilet has one cubicle broken and no sign of any repair, just a sign saying it is under way. The disposal of chemical waste is a broken loo with a short hose pipe, that is it. The children's area is one compact play area with nowhere for adults to sit and supervise. Don't think of walking your dog, nothing on site. There are great big wind farm things in the landscape and we walked to the next site to get milk as the shop was still closed at 9am. Truely disappointing and expensive at nearly £44 for 2 nights.

After reading the site reviews just two days before we departed from home , I was in two minds to cancel , I am so glad we did not as the site turned out to be one of the best we have visited in a number of years .
Every body was so friendly from the time we arrived until the time we left.
The facilities were what you would expect at one of the club sites , very clean and well presented.
Its only 15 minutes walk into the middle of the town with plenty of shops, pubs , and restraunts .
10 Minutes to the sea and only a short drive to Skegness.
The only review i read and would strongly agree with is that the wind is very strong coming straight of the coast (hense the wind farm to the rear of the site) so if you are using a tent make sure you have decent pegs .
All in all a very good family site .

Pleasant site with a friendly welcome. the pitch areas were nice and level, the whole site very tidy. perhaps the showers are a bit out of date however they were spotlessly clean, as were the toilets. Don't understand what the complaint about the Elsan disposal is - it was a proper flushing facility with the usual hose for swilling down - seemed OK to me.

Having read other people's comments, I wonder what they expect for their money. We didn't notice anything particularly wrong with the site and if we had, we would have reported it so that remedial action could be taken, not advertised it on the internet. With regard to cleanliness, the facilities were cleaned every day and I would suspect that their condition was due to the habits of the people who used them. Whilst the drive was not of motorway standard, I feel that the person who complained may need some attention to his vehicles rear suspension. We shall certainly be visiting again.

The site is within easy walking distance of Mablethorpe where there are good connections by bus to other Lincolnshire seaside resorts and the Lincolnshire Wolds. There are two camping areas which are well laid out with mainly open aspect sunny pitches and a few shadier pitches. The only negative comment is that the one shower/toilet block is in a 'portabcabin' type of structure and although clean, the shower/toilet cubicles are very small and cramped. The CDP is also primitive and in desperate need of some TLC. In summary a nice site which is spoiled by the somewhat dated facilities which belong more to the middle of the last century and which is in dire need of investment.

Friendly welcome from site staff, plenty of room for kids to play, ours played cricket on the field its so big. Well organised and spaced out for caravans. Ideal for the coast, great location. The only drawback and the reason we won't be going to this site again is the toilet / shower block, especially the ladies. We were there at bank holiday at the end of April and only 3 showers worked, one toilet was leaking water too and there was a hole in the wall, not very pleasant and in desperate need of modernising.

As expected the site at Mablethorpe provided excellent value and ideally suited for a short restorative break. Perfect for visiting the seaside resort and touring the east coast.
Facilities for camping are more than adequate, as it in itself is a basic way to holiday - you take as much comfort as you need or can carry.
With a short walk - twenty minutes - to the sea or similar into the town itself - with everything there you could need.
The site was surprisingly quiet for a Bank Holiday weekend allowing plenty of space for each tent or caravan, and shelter from the winds from the coast.
The site is well looked after and managers on hand if any problem should arise.
Happy to recommend and likely to revisit shortly.

Although I enjoyed my walks along the seemingly endless beach I will not be returning to this site because the facilities block is really shabby and was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The site was not full and especially so early in the season I would expect things to be spick and span. There was a hole in the wall of the Ladies!

Having come to this site regularly for the last 6 years, the toilet and shower blocks are now in desparate need of redevelopment. A bank holiday weekend when site was almost full and only 3 working showers in ladies not good. While I could use my own facilities, the people camping, some with small children were stuck with them. This site seems to have been completely over looked. So will be going elsewhere till some work is done to improve things. 2 out of 5

I must say we really enjoyed this site, yes it is quite basic, but thee were plenty of facilities for our 5yr old son a short distance from the camp. You don't go camping and expect to find facilities like a 5 star hotel.

It's about time that the site roadways were repaired / replaced - I managed to catch my towbar on the same pothole almost every time (road too narrow too avoid easily as I crossed 'bridge' into the flat field); and the washroom facilities are 'tired' and not up to the usual Club standards!! However, the (super) beach is within walking distance, which makes up for some, but not all, of the site's shortcomings!

Despite this being on the coast we did not quite realise how exposed to the elements we would be... until we saw the wind farm right next to the site. The facilities were basic to say the least, a portacabin which was clean but not great. Dog walk was a strip of land next to a far larger area supposedly for ball games. A dog is not going to pee if there is a ball to be had! On the plus side. beaches were absolutely fantastic and the site is within easy walking distance of the town and the coast. Staff were friendly.

We are lively over 60's and all we can say about this site is the atmosphere is as flat as the pitches. We have never visited a site where there has been no buzz.Althouh the second field was nearly full with caravans and campervans nobody ventured out or spoke to anybody else certainly not a good advertisment for "the friendly club". We have put this down to the majority of folk on site taking advantage of age concessions (ourselves included) The toilet block was clean and adequate the shower cubicles very small and definately in need of refurbishment. they were cleaned daily between 10.30 -12 although were usually finished by 11.30 but if you wanted a lie in with leisurely breakfast it was difficult to make it before cleaning time commenced so we showered in the van. On arrival we got very little information about the site or surrounding area/facalities and when asked where we could obtain caravan spares got a curt reply with no directions. Mablethorpe is for those who like tack mostly cheap shops and cafes athough the beach is stunning. Had we not had a problem with our car we would have been away well before the 8 nights we had booked.
