Excellent site run by great wardens.
About one of the best C&CCS we have used.
Nice walk along the canal past the Caen locks to Devizes.
There is a large dog exercise area on site.
The shower/toilet blocks are very clean and well maintained.

First campsite with new camper an so trying everything out. Warm welcome on arrival and good advice immediately available. We were considering a smaller drive away awning and suddenly there's a brochure appeared and lots of suggestions. Excellent, clean and, in February warm facilities. Right next to the canal, great for walking, cycling getting to shops, etc.

This was our very first trip in our motor caravan and were obviously a little apprehensive about all the procedures for connecting the hook up, filling with water etc, but we need not have worried as we could not have found a more friendly and helpful welcome by Pete and Dawn up on arrival. Within a short while Pete had us on the pitch, gas and electric connected and a cuppa brewing. The site was immaculate. The showers, toilets and wash up facilities sparkling clean and everything to hand.
The location, adjacent to the Kennet and Avon canal with the towpath for cycling or walking could not be better. The site is just 50 yards from the Three Magpies where we had a very enjoyable evening meal.
A big thanks to Dawn and Pete for making our first overnight a pleasurable one, we will return - often.

What an excellent find. Really lovely site right next to canal. Facilities wonderfully clean, but more showers needed please - had to queue at peak time. Get rid of some of the handbasins which didn't appear to be used much. Three Magpies next door put on excellent New Year's entertainment. Would thoroughly recommend this site (and pub) and we will come back. Very peaceful but don't come if you want entertaining. If you like walking and cycling there are many opportunities.

I love this site so much I have already planned to return for Christmas 2011!
The current site manager and his team were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The facilities were spotless and could not be faulted.
It is located a few miles from my home town of Devizes where one can find a number of supermarkets, garages, restaurants, and take-aways if one does not fancy cooking.
It is next to the Kennet and Avon canal, and one can walk to the famous Caen Hill Flight of locks along the towpath just around the corner.
Apparently the site only has a very small number of grass pitches with EHU, so it is strongly advisible to book early to avoid disappointment.
I count myself very fortunate to have this lovely site so close to home.

On arrival we requested a pitch near the toilets, we were told "all our pitches are near the toilets". The pitch we were then given was about as far from the toilets as we could be on that site. They did move us when we asked (it was different people behind the reception desk) and told us that we should have requested a pitch near the toilets! Also the toilet/shower block is closed from 10.30am until 12 noon which I found very inconvenient on the day we left as I like to pack up first then shower just before we leave and it was after 10.30 when we finished packing up so no shower. Perhaps they could close the block a bit later, say from 12 to 1.30 when most people are out.
Other than that the site was very good and the staff helpfull, there is an hourly bus service to Devises which is a nice small town and fishing in the nearby canal and a pub very close by with a good selection of real ales.

Excellent site full marks. Lovely walks & easy access to the Canal. Our only mistake was booking a hardstanding with a tent! It was very Hard we broke our original tent pegs and had to buy new ones. Our first visit and very enjoyable. Well kept site with good shower /toilet facilities. Help from the wardens pronto when we ran into problems with our electrics!!
Good dog exercise area and walk. Dogs are allowed off lead there but quite rightly need to be under control still.
Right by the canal- great for biking into Bradford, Bath, Devizes. Caen hill flight a good challenge!! but done it in one!!
Good pub -Three Magpies with good food right at the entrance- dogs allowed in the wooded floor area. Same 20 mins walk down the canal towards Bath way - the Barge Inn where dogs also welcome in the wooden bar area.
Only gripe (a minor one) was the pitch allocated was a bit tight for maneouvring in and out of for a very long twin axle van- other pitches without people parked opposite were available.
We are planning on returning.

The site itself is really lovely, beside The kennet and Avon canal fab for cycling or walking, One moan pegging an awning on the gravel hardstanding a nightmare, The site was very well tended we booked on age concession I produced my card on request and thanked the warden for asking for proof of age!! my husband did not have his card to prove he was over 55 was asked for other proof of age, we found this rather amusing he is 67 I am 64. Still Rules is Rules, we were allowed to pick our pitch but had to be accompanied so they knew where we were, why is this country so regimented? we have just spent a month in France with the motorhome, you drive in select a site tell them the number and pay when you leave, this country really needs to lighten up.However all very friendly and the site is a credit to the wardens.

I have stayed at this site a number of times and will be back again. Pete and Dawn always give the best of welcomes, nothing is too much trouble. You always get guided to your pitch and where possible a choice.
The site is very attractive, well laid out and beautifully maintained. Something for everyone from dog walks to children's play area.
The facilities have always been clean with plenty of hot water.
The site is so well placed with the wonderful Kennet and Avon canal next door, for enjoying walks and bike rides. Next time I am going to attempt to ride to the top of the locks as I have been told there is a wonderful tea room awaiting me.
I cannot fault this site and would recommed staying here to anyone. See you again soon.

Excellent site with brilliant facilities, second to none, and warm welcome from wardens Pete & Dawn (the website needs updating - they've been there since Nov 2010). Short walk from Kennet & Avon Canal, Three Magpies pub and bus stop to Devizes. Well set-up dog exercise area which leads to a woodland walk for variety that the pooch enjoyed - and me too. Well worth the short trip (by bus or walk along tow path) to Caen Hill Locks (all 15 of them!)where there is a nice cafe at the top to replenish with good coffee, excellent bacon butties or cream tea after all the exertion (so much for the diet!). Only one sour note - the people in the caravan with an alarm who left it for the day, with the alarm going off at regular intervals from about 15 minutes after they left. Only contact number the wardens had was the home phone. No peaceful day for us or many others. Suggestion - all campers be made to leave mobile no. on booking in. The wardens did all they could. And is it really necessary to leave alarm on whilst on club site with barrier controlled entry/exit? More consideration for fellow campers please.

Well done to you all

Great pitches great location what more can you say the shower block was busy but cleaned like your own .
If the club do read these reviews well done for putting this team together. Have you ever thought of building a new shower block in the field next to the dog run and kitting it out with e/hook up pitches to extend this popular site

Arrived in the pouring rain to be greeted by friendly staff one of whom took us to our pitch-given a choice of 4 pitches. We were informed of where everything was and wished a happy stay. The site is extremely neat and tidy, loved the dividing hedges, making it feel smaller than it actually was. Took our timid elderly dog for a walk as soon as it stopped raining-only to be pounced upon by 2 collies whose owner felt he didnt need to observe the 'all dogs to be kept on a lead' rule. I wonder how many other rules these people break? The facility block was 5 star-the hot water was plentiful and they always clean whatever time of the day we used them. The weather improved the next morning and plenty of cycling walking and fishing (by hubby)along the canal filled the coming week. The walk into Devizes was lovely and Caen Hill Flight is one of the most amazing sights we've ever seen. We would definately return here again. As our children have grown up,we always book Sun-Fri on non 'Adult Only' sites as we enjoy the peace and quiet, this site proved just that-peaceful and quiet. Thank you to all the hard working staff-we returned to Norfolk very refreshed :)

This site is not actually in Devizes, but in the village of Sells Green. The site is nicely situated between the Kennet & Avon canal and the Three Magpies pub.
It is a nice clean site with friendly helpful wardens. Toilets and showers however are unfortunately closed between 10:30 and Noon, but are well maintained and very clean. A small shop is on site in Reception selling essentials only. A treelined site with mainly hardstanding pitches. Beware - these pitches are hard, very hard. When booking I expected to put my motorhome on the hardstanding (no problem) but to erect my Awning on the ajacent grass. No! The wardens insisted that the awning was on the gravel hardstanding as well :o( The hardstanding areas are so hard that rock pegs are needed. The one we were shown was like concrete under the initial layer of gravel and we couldn't get our ordinary pegs in. The satellite image on Google maps appears to show some awnings on the grass so some change of rules by the management has occurred, if this is no longer allowed. After complaining about this we were allowed to park on a totally grassed area and a long lead was provided for us for our electric hookup. This was much better. Thanks to the wardens for helping us out.

It was a pleasure to visit this site, all the staff made our stay very enjoyable. The place is kept very clean. The only downside in April is the falling willow tree blossom which makes a lot of mess so select your pitch well but this. We pitched our tent on a hard standing base and was surprised how much nicer this was to grass. You’ll find plenty to do and a walk along the canal to Devizer’s is a must. It’s approximately 3 miles but you can catch a bus back if you don’t fancy the walk. There is a local pub within walking distance but I’m not a fan of Wadsworth beer and this is about all you can get for miles. Do venture out in the car; there is plenty to be had. Or just laze around on-site. Oh, and don’t speed on-site... ha ha. Top site and we’d visit again.

We were given a very warm welcome by the wardens when we arrived. To the point he showed us several pitches and advised against certain positions of our tent. Very helpful.
The site was level and kept well, great washing up and laundry facilities.
The only downside for us was that although the washrooms were clean when the wardens had been round they need sorting out again at the end of the day in high season, as by the morning they were less than desirable.
We also found children were still playing on the play equipment at 10pm. Wouldn't have been a problem in itself but the fact they were shouting and screaming was not amusing.

This is a lovely site, next to the Kennet and Avon canal. It's a nice easy, hour-long walk into Devizes town along the canal tow-path. For public transport, the bus stops about 50 yards outside the site entrance, perfect! Nice flat site with good amenities, although I found the toilet block a little chilly first thing in the morning, but that's probably me! A pub serving food is almost immediately outside the site entrance but the nearest shop is a drive away. Staff very friendly and helpful, always ready for a chat and a laugh, great! We were initially disappointed to be shown to our non-electric, standard pitch on a large patch of gravel which was more like a car park, but the gentleman helping could sense our disappointment and we were shown to a much nicer pitch and this was much appreciated.

Walk West a very picturesque mile to a lovely canalside pub ,The Barge, (you can cycle in about 15 minutes). Good sunday lunch for a tenner. The Three Magpies pub just outside the main entrance is a family friendly pub with good food and a good pint of beer or cider. Lovely outside area. We found it relaxing at this site, and with the excellent walks by the canal into Devizes you can view the great locks and finish off the day with a walk around the town shops.
The site has a local pub just a few minutes walk selling good food and drinks, families are welcome.
The site was kept very clean, one of the best we been to would highly recommend this site.

We had a lovely welcome - very friendly wardens- selected a lovely pitch for us right opposite the play area (we have 3 small children). Facilities were the cleaniest I have experienced.
Would highly recommend this site. Many thanks for a lovely weekend.

We stay at Devizes quite a lot, as we visit Bath regularly. A superb site, with good public transport links, great scenery (the canal), lovely walks and good pubs within walking distance!
