This was our second visit to this site, the first being 2 years ago. Not much has changed except that the all the facilities are now looking very "tired". This is a busy site so everything gets well used in a season so it is not surprising but it is overdue for a refurb. We cannot speak highly enough of the wardens who are just the best "meeters & greaters" you could hope for. Their local knowledge is very comprehensive. If you are a light sleeper try to avoid the pitches that run parallel to the road as it can be a bit noisy. Chipping Norton is not too far away for supermarkets and pubs with plenty of free parking.

When we arrived on site, we were given a choice by the very helpful wardens on where to pitch, as we started to set up, our jockey wheel collapsed and the wardens could not have been more helpful, we eventually had to invest in a new one. The town is really lovely with plenty of diverse shops etc and of course the local brewery is well worth a visit. Would recommend this site to all.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site and would say it is definitely the friendliest Club site we have stayed on. Nothing was too much trouble, and the Wardens would always take time out to talk as they passed. The site itself was busy (bank holiday weekend -so we would expect it to be!) and even though we had to queue for the Showers in a morning this didn't spoil things. We were given a choice of pitches, which was really good because we normally Caravan but this time we used our small tent (for the second time only) and were able to pick a lovely flat pitch on the top field. The ground was well drained even though we had some bouts of heavy rain, and as we had already seen other reviews we took rock pegs so had no problems pitching. We didn't have any problems with road noise (although I could see why some pitches on the lower field would get this) and we had no helicopter night flights disturbing us luckily! The worst we had was the combine harvester in the field behind our pitch, but this was during the day and didn't cause us any problems. We loved the site, nice 35 minute walk into Chipping Norton (just have to take care on the busy road where no pavement for the first section) but once there the Town is lovely, plenty of shops and pubs good way to spend a day. We had some nice walks in the Woods opposite the site with our dog, although you did need wellies it was quite boggy in places. Overall we loved it, everyone seemed really friendly who was staying on the Site too, maybe that was a knock on effect from the Staff! Definitely a good place to be, we will be back!

This is by far one of the best sites we have stayed on. We found the staff helpfull, willing to look for maps with the footpaths on & they even printed copies for us. The facilities were spotless even tho we had some wet weather; the showers were powerfull & "hot" which is rare these days & there were lovely little posies of flowers in the wash area. The town of Chipping Norton was delightfull & in easy reach. We would be more than happy to spend another week there altho we did exhaust the dog walks/footpaths in a week.

We stayed for 3 nights which included 1 extra night. This is one of the cleanest camp sites i have ever stayed at. The toilets and showers were exemplary and the site itself was very well cared for. On arrival we were taken to several pitches by one of the site team and were allowed to choose the one that suited us the most. All of the team were happy friendly and professional. They warned us about the Helicopter noise but don't think I even noticed this. Warm bread and croissants in the morning, mobile fish and chips on Saturday evening nice little extras. The site is well situated for all local attractions and there were 2 supermarkets in Chipping Norton for all of our essentials. I had a peaceful relaxing break and would certainly use this site again, 5 stars from me.

Very friendly welcome by all staff, bus stop right outside to get to Chipping Norton and Witney. Lots of really nice pubs quite close, We tried the Chequer's at Churchill, which is 5 minutes drive away. Not your ordinary pub food, great quality and great service.
Chipping Norton has lots of unique shops, there are some nice antique shops, especially the Station Mill, which is just outside the town centre.
Good site and an excellent base for touring the nearby area.

Really nice site, friendly and helpful site team. The town is a short walk away and really worth a visit. Try Trev Beadles butchers, cracking local butcher with real style and huge choice. The local bars were all very friendly and particularly enjoyed the tapas in 'Bitter and Twisted'. Two good small supermarkets.

In spite of the dreadful weather this "summer" we enjoyed our short break at Chipping Norton Club Site.
It only offers grass pitches (no hardstandings) so we were apprehensive about waterlogging. However while a few pitches were out of action the ground seems well drained.
The facilities are a little old-fashioned now, but were clean and fit for purpose, well looked after.
The area is lovely, well worth the visit if you are able to go sightseeing - Blenhiem Palace and Oxford, as well as the lovely local villages. We'll be back.

We had never stayed in the Cotswolds before but by towing a Smart car we were able to explore the area from here. The staff were so friendly. It was a pleasure to pass the time of day with them. The facilities, whilst not new, were kept so clean and tidy. The location was really good, with Co-op and Sainsburys nearby for daily supplies. I hear that hard standings are due for next season. Given the rainfall this year that would be helpful. If all club sites were as this one...

What a great site! Wonderful welcoming staff, friendly and very helpful, especially as we arrived towing an old car which the online booking system failed to tell them. The facilities were clean and warm, with plenty of hot water. Site was well-kept and despite the recent deluges very well-drained. Excellent butchers, bakers and village shop in Chadlington a mile or so down the road. Easy access to the glory of the Cotswolds and with some great National Trust places nearby such as Chastleton House, Upton House and Snowshill Manor to visit. We will certainly come again.

when we arrived we we're welcomed by all the team at Chipping Norton, started our holiday off with friendly banter and helpfulness... We were given a choice of pitches as we were quite a large tent and we wanted to be sited next to our friends, the team could not have been more helpful! The facilities extremely clean, warm and inviting, small shop at the reception and chipping norton two minutes away by car. Cotwolds villages are just a short driving distance away, Bourton on the Water absolutely stunning... Throughout stay the team helped us with jump leads and guidance on where to find new tent (friends forgot to take poles for the tent!) Oxford was nearest for Go Outdoors to but a new tent... overall fab break made greater by the team at the site and the site itself, so relaxing and peaceful.... :-)

What a great site, with two areas. Easy access, but would recommend approaching on the A361 from Chipping Norton direction due to a sharp right-hand turn with a slight incline from the Burford direction. Well managed with a very warm welcome and helpful staff.
Given choice of pitches. Toilets showers very clean and recently decorated.
Chipping Norton has a Sainsburys, Co-op supermarkets and a JET filling station with a Spar shop open until very late.
Several good eating places.
Banbury has good shopping facilities and a canal.
NT properties nearby, plus the rolling Cotswold countryside.
Hope to return in the autumn for another few days.

Very easy to find and access. Due to distance we didn't arrive until about 9 pm but the couple were still there to meet us who were friendly and helpful. A nice site not too large, with a mixture of guests. The toilet and shower block were very clean. We were concerned reading comments re road noise but the traffic seemed to have stopped by 9.30 - 10.00 so good nights sleep. The road was busy during the day but we were about & about for most it and after ten minutes you don't notice it anymore. There were also comments re jets and helicopters but as the military have restricted flying on weekends and evenings the only helicopter we heard was a civilian helicopter during the day which you could get anywhere. A lovely woodland walk nearby (but you do need to cross the road to access) which we thoroughly enjoyed and watched the beautiful sunset going down over the hills. Location is great with easy access to all you want from a trip to the Cotswolds. Chipping Norton is very close by with a Sainsbury supermarket (town centre), pubs, cafe's, shops etc and free parking.
We enjoyed our weekend and would happily visit again.

This is the second time we have chosen to stay at the chipping norton site, it is clean well run and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They will even help you to pitch up if needed. The site is small, clean, quiet and has a bus that drops you off right outside the door, so you can leave your car if you don't want to drive about. There are some lovely walks around, and it is a perfect base to go and explore the lovely surrounding villages. We cannot recommend this site enough, definitely worth a stay weather it's a weekend or longer.

Best to enter this site from Chipping Norton town as there is an awkward right turn if coming from the other direction. Hadnt even got to the Reception before I heard the cheerful voices of Malc and Alison welcoming us to the site. Made for a nice start to the holiday. Site kept immaculate, even though site completely full at Easter, everything was kept in perfect order. Showers and toilets spotless. Play area basic but adequate and good meeting place for the kids. Dog walk on site. Opposte site is a bridle path great for walking. Lovely area. Small site with a small basic shop with newspapers, icrecream and hot bread. Will definitely go back.

I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

We stayed here for a long weekend with some friends so we asked for 2 pitches together which the staff did for us without issue.
The site itself is quite small, nicely laid out and has been mentioned already is a little bit hilly in some places but not too bad. The staff were friendly enough and seemed to work hard to keep the site clean and tidy. The (3) showers are adequate but at times can be busy if the site is full. Toilets etc are clean. There is also a laundry facility, which is handy for those on longer stays which houses a commercial washing machine and dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board in the laundry room.
The site is very close to the very busy A361 and our pitches were only metres from the road separated only by a low wall and some trees. There are signs along the A361 identifying it as a dangerous road and prone to accidents, quite frankly I can see why too. At one stage I thought a car would be coming through the wall (There are signs of someone having recently done so) and into the campsite it sounded so close and was definitely too fast. There were lots of very noisy motorbikes passing at all times of the day and night, which was also very annoying.
Our pitches were close to the toilet and shower block and sadly close to the Cess Pit which very much ruined our stay at this site. The smell was just awful, wafting around the site. Talking to others camped nearby it also caused upset for them too. I mentioned it to the management on site who didn't seem to be too sure on what if anything they could do other than report it to someone else. We were also kept awake by the late night use of the hand dryers in the toilet block.
The site doesn't really have facilities for young children, predominately a family shower or wash room. There is a play park but it is limited to two swings and a slide which at times becomes crowded.
A nice site but avoid the pitches in the lower green near the toilets at all costs.

The only thing i would of like to know about was the special services helecopters that come over our tents at 1.30am which woke everyone up. We spent last weekend there with my daughter and her family (two children 5 and 3)who were camping. Very friendly management and site. The children loved the play area but would have liked room for ball games, our dog loved the walks.
There were however two problems
1. The sewage stench from behind the toilet block. I note a similar coment in another review so it is about time this was fixed.
2. The adjacent road is very noisy but fortunately this abates at night.

We chose this site as offering good access to the many beautiful villages of the Cotswolds, and weren't disappointed. We had hoped it would also be peaceful and quiet, being well away from towns but were rather disappointed. Day 1 we were greated with a cacophony of noise from microlites and light aircraft; every evening and well past 11pm the traffic noise was bad and on our last night we were "buzzed" for 45 minutes around 10.30pm by special services helecopters doing training.
On a positive note the staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to help with internet searches and phonecalls when we needed some medical help.

The site is well located near to Chipping Norton and is served by a limited bus service. I have a coach built but small motorhome and was surprised to find that facilities for motorhomes are extremely limited. There is no actual motorhome service point. Using the fresh water and waste water drop suggested would have resulted in me blocking the entrance into the site. The facilities block was clean but too small and very dated. There was some toilet smell from outside. I stayed on the site for 2 nights, Thursday and Friday, at the end of June. Had not booked and was unable to get electric hook up. The site seemed very busy.
A basic but well maintained site with helpful and friendly staff. but I would have expected better from a Club site in the 21st century.

Site is in a beautiful part of the country and as I tent camp alone, I mainly use the Club sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful, without assuming I'd need help to pitch my tent(which I don't!) First site I've stayed on where re-cycling is the only option - great idea, no other bins around to tempt the lazy! Bus stop at site entrance is great - I went out every day and did not use my car once - did notice though, that car parks are free in the area anyway. Only problem I found was that for such a large site, there are only 3 ladies' showers - many a morning spent queuing - what it must be like in the busy summer hols, I can't imagine! All round though, a lovely site and would definitely recommend and return

We have stayed at the site several times previously. We always liked the site as its peaceful and within easy access to places of interest. We were very impressed at the friendly welcome we received. The Managers and Assistant Managers were helpful and there was a great atmosphere at the site. We were welcomed with smiles and that didn't change throughout our stay. The only change I would like to recommend is that some hardstandings to be built, this would make a great difference when using the site at the beginning and end of the season as last year we did experience quite a lot of mud when accessing the van. Overall, a great site and will certainly use again.

Spent a long weekend at the end of half term at Chipping Norton and had a lovely time - plenty to do in the local area, (Oxford, Bourton on the Water etc fairly close by) and thankfully had good enough weather to enjoy the heated lido in Chipping Norton (if you go around 5pm its really quiet - we had the place to ourselves one evening even though it was half term). The campsite was very well maintained, although perhaps the shower / toilet block could do with a bit of an update and shower heads were a little low for my 6ft 3" tall husband, but great for kids as they were constant supply (rather than push button for 5 seconds of water type) and temperature adjustable so they don't get scalded or frozen, which seems to be rare in campsites these days. May need an extension lead for electric hookups. Small playground on site, which was only used by little ones. Best thing about this campsite is the staff. As we struggled with our tent and an increasingly bored 4 year old after one of our pole connectors broke, the site manager (though already off duty) VERY kindly held up one end of our tent for about 10 mins while we pegged in the other - what a star! We'll certainly return!

This was our first time camping and wanted somewhere near to home (just over an hour away) to test out our new tent. This site did not disappoint at all! I visited the site the weekend before just to have a look then I couldn't wait to get there. The wardens are fantastic and very helpful. When we arrived with the tent we had a choice of pitches from the main field and the secondary field, we chose the secondary field, both fields very level. We have a dog and there is a dog walk not far from the site. Very clean and tidy toilets/showers. We may have been blessed with excellent weather but this was a superb site for our first time. We weren't members on arrival but before we left we became members. I think we will always have fond memories of this site. A credit to the club.

we are new to caravaning - this was our first experience. A fabulous friendly calm site with an an excellent site supervisor and staff. Would certainly return- and hopefully won't need so much help next time with hitching up and erecting the Awning !!!! Perfect situation for visits to Cotswolds and Oxford.

Lovely campsite in a very beautiful area. Good, clean and well maintained facilities. Safe for kids. Although there is some noise from the nearby roads during the day, it is quiet at night. Lots of wildlife and some great walks.

This is only a short drive from home so great for a weekend getaway. it is popular and the site wardens are extremely friendly , the site gets busy at weekends and some parts of the site do suffer from slight road noise, but there are lots of pitches that don't. The facilities are of the older type but well maintained and exceptionally clean .for things to do The local Hook Norton brewery do tours and sell their beer on the premises and are only a few miles from site. Chipping Norton is a small market town but the theatre is excellent as is the outdoor pool made famous by Jeremy Clarkson when he drove a Jaguar into it.Some of the local villages shops are a tad expensive so go into Chippy for supplies.

We maybe somewhat biased because we've been coming to the Chipping Norton site for 20+ years. It's a short run for us so ideal for a weekend break. The facilities are basic but clean and the current site management team are friendly and helpful. There's a lovely walk from the site to the village of Churchill (and the excellent Chequers Inn) and it's handy for the charming little town of Chipping Norton. It is adjacent to a main road so there is some traffic noise but not excessive in our experience. We're looking forward to our next visit

Facilities very outdated, site very noisy from adjoining roads. Everything very clean and site maintained as well as can be.
Lots of places to visit if you use a car, very limited bus service.

This site is located in an ideal position for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford, this is a 2 tier site, with tent campers mainly on the top level which seems level and has the play area ,the bottom level is sloping but does not seem to effect the pitches much the amenities block is ok , but showing its age but well clean though, the site did have a horrible toilet stench if the wind was in the wrong direction and the warders were aware of this and had done everything in their power to alleviate this, but it needed the club to spend some money to sort this permanatly.
Saying that it would not stop me going back. Dog walking from this site was not the best I have seen , mainly a gate across the road down a lane , which can get muddy when wet , Oxford was easy to get to from here by using the park and ride a few miles away, also Stratford on Avon was not that far away and well worth a visit, as was numerous villages in the Cotswold area, Bourton on the Water being one.
