I would just like to let you know what a wonderful year we have had camping with the Club. I have taken a year off this year so had lots of camping breaks. We started our adventures in April at Winchcombe and travelled to Corfe Castle from there. We had glorious weather; the scenery was fantastic we visited Swanage and Studland Bay. In May we went to Sandringham, sadly the Queen wasn’t in, the site was set in beautiful grounds, and we visited Brancaster and Huntingham. Later that month we went to Hereford and here we visited The Weir and Symonds Yat. In June we went to Cheddar, Mendip Heights again outstanding views, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Wells. In July we went to Chipping Norton and we went to Cornbury Festival, we have been for the last 5 years, great music and wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the month we went to Veryan, again fantastic weather and views, we visited St Mawes, Falmouth, St Austall, Truro and local villages. We also camped at Bath on our way back to visit our daughter. August we went to Chard, not a club sites, not impressive. In September we went to Delamere Forest, had a lovely time at Chester and exploring the forest. In October we went to Preston, again not a club site, but we wanted to take our daughter to the illuminations .In between all these breaks we have had short stays at our second home Woverley. We would like to say every club site gave us a warm friendly welcome and we will not be going to non club sites next year. We store our caravan at Wolverley and sadly have just put it away for the winter, We would like to give a huge thank you to Carol and Mike Aspery, and their assistants for looking after us and our caravan for the 5th year, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to next season Merry Christmas to those now starting their winter break.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay at this site. I was offered a choice of pitches as there was obviously enough room for a choice. Great friendly management team who managed to deal with all of my enquiries with no problem. Facilities were very good too. I would visit again.
I can recommend the visiting mobile fish & chips van, the best fish supper I've had for ages.

first of all located on an old quarry making pegging difficult I damaged to many pegs.
second too close to very busy noisy road with full beam lights in use and fast traffic, lorries made us feel like we having an earthquake.
third no control from staff over disturbing fellow campers being noisy so all night no sleep for what I paid very expensive
forth showers to short in height and male area occupied by females to much so no privicy. I could not wait to pack up and leave when complaining staff showed very little interest.

We stayed here for a long weekend with some friends so we asked for 2 pitches together which the staff did for us without issue.
The site itself is quite small, nicely laid out and has been mentioned already is a little bit hilly in some places but not too bad. The staff were friendly enough and seemed to work hard to keep the site clean and tidy. The (3) showers are adequate but at times can be busy if the site is full. Toilets etc are clean. There is also a laundry facility, which is handy for those on longer stays which houses a commercial washing machine and dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board in the laundry room.
The site is very close to the very busy A361 and our pitches were only metres from the road separated only by a low wall and some trees. There are signs along the A361 identifying it as a dangerous road and prone to accidents, quite frankly I can see why too. At one stage I thought a car would be coming through the wall (There are signs of someone having recently done so) and into the campsite it sounded so close and was definitely too fast. There were lots of very noisy motorbikes passing at all times of the day and night, which was also very annoying.
Our pitches were close to the toilet and shower block and sadly close to the Cess Pit which very much ruined our stay at this site. The smell was just awful, wafting around the site. Talking to others camped nearby it also caused upset for them too. I mentioned it to the management on site who didn't seem to be too sure on what if anything they could do other than report it to someone else. We were also kept awake by the late night use of the hand dryers in the toilet block.
The site doesn't really have facilities for young children, predominately a family shower or wash room. There is a play park but it is limited to two swings and a slide which at times becomes crowded.
A nice site but avoid the pitches in the lower green near the toilets at all costs.

I have just come back from a lovely four day break in Chipping Norton. We had a lovely time and the staff were friendly and happy to help. The only thing i would of like to know about was the special services helecopters that come over our tents at 1.30am which woke everyone up. We didnt know about this untill we had checked in and unloading our car. I think people should be aware of this and told before booking this site. Other than that the site was nice and clean.

A wonderful site with a wonderful welcome! All information given on arrival and we were even asked if we would like to order newspapers or croissants! The facilities were nice and clean, the water nice and hot and adjustable. The fish and chip van was a nice touch. The site was well maintained with the pitches being a generous size (we got a choice of where we would like to pitch)
The location of this site is ideal for exploring the cotswolds, bourton-on-the-water is a must as is the wildlife park for days out. It made our holiday delightful and will be returning soon.

We spent last weekend there with my daughter and her family (two children 5 and 3)who were camping. Very friendly management and site. The children loved the play area but would have liked room for ball games, our dog loved the walks.
There were however two problems
1. The sewage stench from behind the toilet block. I note a similar coment in another review so it is about time this was fixed.
2. The adjacent road is very noisy but fortunately this abates at night.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go again

Arrived back this afternoon from a lovely weekend at this site. Our children loved the little play area.
The facilities are nice and clean although a little dated. The shop is well stocked and the staff couldn't be more helpful. There is a lovely walk along the bridle path if you cross over the road and walk along about 50m. Lovely for the children as they were able to see the horses and sheep.
Chipping norton is a short drive away and Bourton-on-the-water is well worth a visit.
we hope to visit again in the future.

Friendly welcome, The daily newspaper was a nice touch !I Had a medical emergency whilst I was there and the Stewards' attention and support for me and my partner was very reassuring. The saying 'The Friendly Club' is spot on. on the way home we decided we'll return later this year to finish our trip - Oh and the offers of help from other campers were much appreciated and a tonic to me a man with a jaundiced view of life .

We chose this site as offering good access to the many beautiful villages of the Cotswolds, and weren't disappointed. We had hoped it would also be peaceful and quiet, being well away from towns but were rather disappointed. Day 1 we were greated with a cacophony of noise from microlites and light aircraft; every evening and well past 11pm the traffic noise was bad and on our last night we were "buzzed" for 45 minutes around 10.30pm by special services helecopters doing training.
On a positive note the staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to help with internet searches and phonecalls when we needed some medical help.

The site is well located near to Chipping Norton and is served by a limited bus service. I have a coach built but small motorhome and was surprised to find that facilities for motorhomes are extremely limited. There is no actual motorhome service point. Using the fresh water and waste water drop suggested would have resulted in me blocking the entrance into the site. The facilities block was clean but too small and very dated. There was some toilet smell from outside. I stayed on the site for 2 nights, Thursday and Friday, at the end of June. Had not booked and was unable to get electric hook up. The site seemed very busy.
A basic but well maintained site with helpful and friendly staff. but I would have expected better from a Club site in the 21st century.

Site is in a beautiful part of the country and as I tent camp alone, I mainly use the Club sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful, without assuming I'd need help to pitch my tent(which I don't!) First site I've stayed on where re-cycling is the only option - great idea, no other bins around to tempt the lazy! Bus stop at site entrance is great - I went out every day and did not use my car once - did notice though, that car parks are free in the area anyway. Only problem I found was that for such a large site, there are only 3 ladies' showers - many a morning spent queuing - what it must be like in the busy summer hols, I can't imagine! All round though, a lovely site and would definitely recommend and return

We have stayed at the site several times previously. We always liked the site as its peaceful and within easy access to places of interest. We were very impressed at the friendly welcome we received. The Managers and Assistant Managers were helpful and there was a great atmosphere at the site. We were welcomed with smiles and that didn't change throughout our stay. The only change I would like to recommend is that some hardstandings to be built, this would make a great difference when using the site at the beginning and end of the season as last year we did experience quite a lot of mud when accessing the van. Overall, a great site and will certainly use again.

Spent a long weekend at the end of half term at Chipping Norton and had a lovely time - plenty to do in the local area, (Oxford, Bourton on the Water etc fairly close by) and thankfully had good enough weather to enjoy the heated lido in Chipping Norton (if you go around 5pm its really quiet - we had the place to ourselves one evening even though it was half term). The campsite was very well maintained, although perhaps the shower / toilet block could do with a bit of an update and shower heads were a little low for my 6ft 3" tall husband, but great for kids as they were constant supply (rather than push button for 5 seconds of water type) and temperature adjustable so they don't get scalded or frozen, which seems to be rare in campsites these days. May need an extension lead for electric hookups. Small playground on site, which was only used by little ones. Best thing about this campsite is the staff. As we struggled with our tent and an increasingly bored 4 year old after one of our pole connectors broke, the site manager (though already off duty) VERY kindly held up one end of our tent for about 10 mins while we pegged in the other - what a star! We'll certainly return!

We visited this site in May 2011. it was a great site for the 2 of us and our little dog (brilliant dog walk through the woods just 1 minute from site). Staff were very very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The site was really clean with ample facilities. We had a fab time and we even won the raffle which was being held in the reception :-)

This was our first time camping and wanted somewhere near to home (just over an hour away) to test out our new tent. This site did not disappoint at all! I visited the site the weekend before just to have a look then I couldn't wait to get there. The wardens are fantastic and very helpful. When we arrived with the tent we had a choice of pitches from the main field and the secondary field, we chose the secondary field, both fields very level. We have a dog and there is a dog walk not far from the site. Very clean and tidy toilets/showers. We may have been blessed with excellent weather but this was a superb site for our first time. We weren't members on arrival but before we left we became members. I think we will always have fond memories of this site. A credit to the club.

This is only a short drive from home so great for a weekend getaway. it is popular and the site wardens are extremely friendly , the site gets busy at weekends and some parts of the site do suffer from slight road noise, but there are lots of pitches that don't. The facilities are of the older type but well maintained and exceptionally clean .for things to do The local Hook Norton brewery do tours and sell their beer on the premises and are only a few miles from site. Chipping Norton is a small market town but the theatre is excellent as is the outdoor pool made famous by Jeremy Clarkson when he drove a Jaguar into it.Some of the local villages shops are a tad expensive so go into Chippy for supplies.

We maybe somewhat biased because we've been coming to the Chipping Norton site for 20+ years. It's a short run for us so ideal for a weekend break. The facilities are basic but clean and the current site management team are friendly and helpful. There's a lovely walk from the site to the village of Churchill (and the excellent Chequers Inn) and it's handy for the charming little town of Chipping Norton. It is adjacent to a main road so there is some traffic noise but not excessive in our experience. We're looking forward to our next visit

This site is located in an ideal position for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford, this is a 2 tier site, with tent campers mainly on the top level which seems level and has the play area ,the bottom level is sloping but does not seem to effect the pitches much the amenities block is ok , but showing its age but well clean though, the site did have a horrible toilet stench if the wind was in the wrong direction and the warders were aware of this and had done everything in their power to alleviate this, but it needed the club to spend some money to sort this permanatly.
Saying that it would not stop me going back. Dog walking from this site was not the best I have seen , mainly a gate across the road down a lane , which can get muddy when wet , Oxford was easy to get to from here by using the park and ride a few miles away, also Stratford on Avon was not that far away and well worth a visit, as was numerous villages in the Cotswold area, Bourton on the Water being one.
