I’m sure you all too often receive complaints as its easier to complain than give praise! I would like to amend that!
I had an unfortunate experience that I don’t really want to have to go through again! Anyway, to cut a long story short, we were staying at the Cardigan Bay site having come back from a nice day out in New Quay to find that I was not very well (putting it mildly!) to the point that my wife had to call an Ambulance from the site office, which by the time she had walked back to our caravan and explained what she had done the ambulance arrived! They took one look at me and said I was going to hospital.
All the site staff were extremely supportive and helpful to my wife and daughter whilst I was in hospital (even keeping a eye on our dogs whilst my wife and daughter visited with me in hospital). Some of those task us guys invariably do, my wife was finally introduced too! (moral to this story is even if they don’t do it they should at least know how!).
The site staff were very understanding and patient with us, I ended up being in hospital for two weeks! Obviously I was worried that we would have to move from our pitch as they had various pre-bookings to accommodate, but they managed to reassure my wife that she should stay put and leave it to them to work around us (fortunately we had booked a hard standing). Which meant our one week stay turned into 3. To say these people went over and above the call of duty is an understatement. I can’t thank them enough as this, added to the problems I was dealing with in hospital was not what I needed at that time.
Please pass on my sincere thanks to all the Managers and Staff at Cardigan Bay Site. This just endorses why we only go to Caravan and Camping Sites.
Regards
Keith

Another brilliant weekend! The grass is more like a manicured lawn than a caravan pitch, and all the fences and buildings have been spruced up and looking great for the new season. You can't get a better welcome anywhere and we have been members now for over 20 years and visited many of the ccc sites. This is the best site and we are regular visitors here and have been for some time. It's all down to the present managers who are extremely hard working and who enjoy their jobs. The toilets are spotless and the showers are always hot. The refuse and water areas are well positioned within easy walking distance. Out and about there are lots of good walking paths and much to see. But be warned! If you don't like the sound of bleating sheep, honking geese flying in a V formation or fresh sea air, then this is not the site for you!!! It's a 4 star campsite and should be a 5 star! Superb! Will be back again soon!!

We have just returned from an enjoyable, if somewhat blowy, week at this site.
We arrived a couple of days after the site had opened and were greeted by a friendly and helpful couple, we were given the choice of pitches and ended up with a lovely big grassy pitch with EHU.
The site was well maintained, grass freshly mown, no muddy patches etc. There is a small shop selling basic provisions and you can order a newspaper. There is a small play area with swings and a slide and an area set aside in an adjoining field for ball games.
However, this is the first Camping & Caravanning Club site we have been on and I have to say the toilet / shower facilities are the worst I have come across. Granted they were very clean, but they were very dated and devoid of any heating and little light. They were absolutely freezing. The showers themselves were lovely and warm with good pressure, but the minute you stepped out of them, it was so cold. There is absolutely no way I could have showered our 5 year old daughter in there as she would have been frozen.
To say that camping is supposed to be a family friendly holiday, I have yet to come across a site with child friendly showering facilities. Fixed head, fixed temperature showers are no good for children. In fairness, the site manager did say we could use the disabled facilities to shower her, which had a variable temperature shower, but even so, she would still have been very cold when she came out.
It is a shame really, as if the facilities were a bit more modern or even just heated, we'd have had a far more pleasant stay. As it is, I doubt we will return.
The surrounding area is lovely, with plenty to see and do, even when the weather isn't the best. I would recommend Peapod Pots, were we spent a fun afternoon painting mugs.

Friendly welcome booked two nights, stayed just the one, too busy for me on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Pitched on the overflow field no electric and not level, dog poo and rubbish there too, manager had to come and clean up. Would probably be OK at another time. Noticed not just on this site but on many others. Dogs not on leads which could cause a safety issue to children and other campers as well as other dogs. Drove back up to Bala, Will not return.

Returned last week from a two week stay here and it was wonderful.
The site is well maintained and well looked after. The only down side is that there is only three showers in the ladies loo and there is a queue when it is busy.
From here we went on loads of days out to the steam train from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge, Cliff railway in Aberystwyth, various beaches, Rainforest centre, swimming at Aberaeron, to Cardigan to see the sights and walks round and about.
Another downside is there is no supermarket for miles, although we managed with what we had taken and a trip to Morrisons in Aberystwyth and one to Tesco in Cardigan.
Well worth a visit, would definately recommend and return.

Very peaceful site. Friendly staff and fellow members. Our first time in this part of Wales and it is stunningly beautiful. Red kites soaring over the site, panoramic views, excellent TV reception. Our caravan battery went flat and the warden charged it up for us free of charge while we went off sightseeing for the day, it was in full working order again when we returned. Full marks for their kind help! Lovely coves and harbours, theme parks (if required), a honey farm, wildlife projects, stately homes, are all nearby. We will certainly return again.

not many hard standing, but lots of space. If you want a view, the higher up the better. Good wifi. My only complaint is not the clubs fault. Many of the Public Rights of Way are not sign posted (helps when they don't agree with the OS map!), so overgrown they are impossible to walk, etc. However some are in very good condition, especially the Coastal path, which is not too difficult to get to from the site, but take a large scale map and/or GPS.

The views are stunning, even if you can not quite see the sea from here, it is only a couple of miles away,
The site has a lovely dog walk on it, loads of spaces for non electric pitches (which we always want, to save money and we have no use for mains in our van)
Good mobile signal (i'm getting 5 bars of HSDPA signal on my T-mobile data stick) but site wifi is available, 1 bar right at the very end of the site inside the van.
The village of New Quay is just charming, a couple of little sandy beaches, clear blue green sea, dolphins playing just out from the harbour,
as with all seaside places, fish and chips is expensive, but well worth it as it was very fresh and you got a decent portion.
Parking is mainly pay and display carparks, that charge by the day (~£3) rather than by the hour, about 30 spaces on the road side near the beach are free for an hour, but good luck finding one on a nice day.

A great site and very well laid out. Staff were very helpful and facilities very clean and tidy. Very close to the many activities in New Quay. The only adverse comment we have is, as has been said before, that the brown camping sign pointing to the site (opposite the pub) is the wrong way round as the majority of campers towing come in from the other direction (A487). Will definitely use this site again.

Very friendly welcome. Site is very tidy & well maintained. Had a lovely peaceful week long break here. Brilliant view. Nice little dog walk, again well maintained. New Quay is worth a visit or three for dolphin spotting & fish & chips!!
On our last evening we had a late dinner, 8.30pm ish...half way through cooking the gas run out & no spare!! Hubby went to see if staff could help..they were great & without a fuss allowed us to purchase a new full gas bottle...our last dinner of the hols went down well with a nice glass of wine or two. Thank you so very much for an enjoyable stay.

Third year running at Cardigan Bay and just returned from a week there; absolutely fantastic as usual! This must be the best site in Wales. It's immaculate! Pete and Sue the Site Managers as attentive as usual and always a good welcome when we arrive. The onsite shop has most of the basics you would need and books to swop! They will even get your newspapers for you! Weather was good and came home tanned. We're always lucky with the weather here. The site was quite full for June; maybe we should stop telling people how good it is and keep this little treasure for ourselves!!

went there July 2008 and met friends while there. playground with 2 baby swings and 2 adult type swings and a slide. were here with 1 year old and had to be quite careful but she still played in park. quite near beach. plenty of space and there's a circular track running around the site. from what i can remember facilites were clean i also think there was a small shop on site where you can buy milk and stuff but i am not quite sure. We thouroughly enjoyed our visit as we stayed for 10 days. Weather was quite good. other visitors were friendly.

VERY WELCOMING STEWARDS, THE SITE WAS KEPT VERY TIDY AND CLEAN. WE NEEDED A QUIET HOLIDAY, AND GOT ONE, THIS IS A VERY PEACEFUL AREA. WE WERE SURPRISED BY THE T.V. RECEPTION, WE JUST PLUGGED THE T.V. IN, AND INSTANTLY GOT A VERY GOOD PICTURE, NO FIDDLING ABOUT. THE START WE NEEDED TO GET A GOOD REST.
WHAT IS NEEDED IS A SIGN TO SAY YOU HAVE REACHED THE TURNING TO THE SITE, AT THE SYNOD INN, AFTER A DAY OUT IN CARDIGAN AND FISHGUARD, WE MISSED THE TURNING AT THE SYNOD INN, AS IT ISN'T CLEARLY MARKED COMING FROM THAT DIRECTION, AND THERE ARE NO INDICATORS AT THE ROADSIDE TO SAY ONE IS NEAR THE SYNOD INN. APART FROM THAT SMALL POINT, WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR BREAK. WE ARE SURE TO RETURN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, JOHN AND PATRICIA BALL.

Absolutely fantastic site, staff were very welcoming and helpful, great proximity to New Quay only 5mins drive and we never had a problem parking like you find in some seaside towns. Great beach a little further up the coast at Cai Bach for walking dog narrow trackway though so take you time, great location for traveling out and the kids loved the play area made friends in no time. Shower and toilet block excellently located and site not too big so 6yr old was able to take herself and not ask one of us to go with her all the time. Would definitely return to this site.

This is a very clean and well situated site. We had plenty of space around our allocated pitch and received a very nice welcome upon arrival.Large towns such as Aberyswyth and Cardigan are within easy travelling distance for a day out,but dont overlook the splendid beach and facilities at New Quay just a short distance from the site itself. For a relaxing break or a family gathering like our party of a motorhome,a caravan and a tent all situated side by side I can recimmend you will not be disappointed here.

A very friendly campsite with good facilities. The shower rooms and toilets were very clean and the area was well maintained. The supervisor was very friendly and was first on hand to help us when we drained our car battery.
It's in close proximity to New Quay beach; with its array of gift shops and eating places!

We are regular members at this site. Sue and Pete are very welcoming and heldful with a wicked sense of humour! Pete works very hard tending the grounds and structures which has made the site very pretty and comfortable. The views are far reaching and the pitches well spaced. The weather has always been very good; we have always been very lucky. The coastals walks around the area are stunning and we never fail to spot dolphins and seals around the many coves and secluded beaches. Access is available from the campsite and there is a map available in the information centre at the camp site. New Quay is a lovely harbour. The nearest Tesco is about 20 miles but there are some local shops which sell groceries a couple of miles from the site.

We had a friendly welcome and were given a choice of hardstandings. we were away in a corner which suited us fine. the site is kept very clean and tidy, the grass and borders were all well maintained.
The access from the main road is a little narrow but not too bad as long as you dont meet oncoming traffic.
New quay is a couple of miles away and is a lovely little town with a great beach and magnificent views, plus a few great pubs and eateries.
This area and this site are among our favorites and we will return.

Peaceful site, where you can see the Red Kites flying at times. We have been to the site many times, due to the relaxed surroundings, and clean facilities. Every year we have seen the dolphins in New Quay, or the seals from Cwmtydu. It is nice to have a BBQ on Cwmtydu beach, with the sun setting over the sea. Site facilities are older, but well maintained and clean.
