Although our stay at this sight was very enjoyable and the wardens were very helpful and friendly with good information on the surrounding area i.e where to dine and places to visit. The only one complaint we have was that the shower / toilet block was very cold as there was no heating of any kind

Lovely site, nice views, friendly staff. Toilet block adequate, water nice and hot but showers operated on a push button and block unheated so not a pleasant experience on a freezing day. Having a motor home and two dogs we like to walk everywhere, so took the 3 mile walk into New Quay, not advise able. Road very narrow and no footpath, scary at times, so walked the scenic route back, a good five miles and hilly. Never the less we had a good stay and would recommend it.

We spent ten wonderful days at this site, and we would recommend the site to anybody who enjoys walking, bus stop only a fifteen Min walk from site, shame we English have to pay and can't use our bus pass, only fault. But you can purchase a daily west Wales rover ticket for seven pounds each with unlimited travel, recommended. staff are friendly and very helpful, we will be back, sorry Arnold ha ha.

Having just returned from yet another vacation at Newquay, I have already booked again for later in the month. I found this latest holiday excellent value for money on site, I was extremely happy with the HSMs as always, they do a terrific job, and work all hours even walking around the site after dark to maintain security and safety off campers. The only fly in the ointment this time was the assistants were were not 'user friendly' a lesson in diplomacy would not go amiss, also a smile would not go amiss ocassionally. The Holiday Site Manager has a heart of GOLD and assisted by his lovely wife deserve a pat on the back for all their hard work again this year!

1st time we have been to mid Wales so unsure of area with regard to campsites but wasn't disappointed with this site, friendly start, we were shown to our pitch which was in the centre of the top field which was on a slope so had to jack up oneside of the caravan 1st time i have ever had to do this, very blustery on 1st day, views were tremendous if into that sort of thing. water point very near so no problem there and hookup about 3 metres away, there is a one way system in operation, we took our dog but the dog walk which is at the bottom of the site was some distance away.
The toilet/shower block was 2 fields away and performed it function well very clean although others have criticsed the age we have seen a lot worse plenty of hot water, the onsite shop/reception is very basic and place a 10p surcharge on papers although a shop in the village is only 2mins away by car, lovely area and 3 miles from New Quay great beaches so summing up well worth the money and would recommend but try and get Hard standing as level great for kids and adults alike.

Had a great holiday. Lovely welcoming site, Managers couldn't do enough to help and always friendly. Stayed during school holidays and even though it was very busy the site was always clean and tidy. Must commend the staff in keeping the toilet block so clean and well maintained during some horrendous weather and at such a busy time. Site is top of our list.

Lovely site to explore local area.
New Quay is only a couple of miles away and has a small but nice beach and dolphins are known to appear most days.
There also some great mountain roads to drive and explore if you go further a field and remember to explore any of the many red kite centres in area.
If your taking the kids you may need to travel to keep them amused but if it a quite site with walks and bike rides or just sit and read then you will enjoy.
Only negative point wash blocks a bit dated but was always kept very clean as was the whole site and staff were always on the go working to make site value for money.
Well done to all the staff and thank you.

Just returned from 10 days touring south Wales, and have to say that this was the worse, and most expensive site we stayed on all week. The staff (apart from the groundsman) were far from friendly and helpful, the facilities were basic (being generous) the shop was poorly stocked (bread, milk, eggs) the pitches were rough for an inexperienced camper, and we were not told until after paying that the pitches were not level. The area was beautiful, and we would return, although to another site, of which there were many around :-(

Excellent location! We really enjoyed exploring this stunning area. Fantastic beaches. Visited Castell Henllys & the Welsh Wildlife Centre on rainy days, both very good.
Site easy to find, only a short stretch of narrow road on final approach to the site. Very well maintained site, great views from many of the pitches.
It was very windy while we were there, so remember plenty of pegs and storm straps! Needed our blocks as the field we were in was sloping. The views were definitely worth the flapping awning!
Small play area which our children loved.
Having read previous reviews we were disappointed by the toilet/shower block. It is in need of TLC. Don't mind older facilities but these did not match the number of 5* ratings they have received (simple things like checking toilet door locks work, replacing broken hooks-silly little things I know but attention to detail makes a 5* review). Could have been cleaner too. Closed from 11 - 12.30 daily so would expect them to be spotless. Wardens were professional on arrival but not the usual friendliness we have enjoyed throughout our stays at other 'friendly club' sites.
No recycling facilities.
We did have a great week staying in this beautiful area, just think that with a little TLC the facilities block could match the care taken over the grounds.

We stayed here 10th - 15th Aug and the weather was wonderful, the staff were very friendly, and also helped me out when my battery was flat, and charged it for me. The shower block was very clean and tidy, so was the rest of the site. Avoid the pub at end of lane for food. we waited 45 mins for Scampi & Chips, and service was appauling, and a very expensive £8.50 !! for small portion of chips/scampi/peas. Thank you for a lovely holiday

We are just back from our holiday staying at Cardigan Bay site. The views from our pitch were excellent. If there had been a sea view, it would have been perfect! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and always on hand for any assistance.
The big let down on this site are the facilities which really let it down; they are well in need of a revamp and more showers are definitely needed if not another shower block. With the amount of units which can be accommodated, 3 showers for ladies and 3 for the gents are just not enough. I think it would also be better if the toilets had another clean in the afternoons as there were so many people using the toilets/sinks etc that by 11am each day, they were not in a great state. In fact, we took to washing in a bowl at the tent.
Thanks for a great holiday!

we visited cardigan bay over the jubilee period the site is very clean wsll groomed and quiet, quite a way from any beaches newquay being the closest you do really need to drive everywhere as the site is quite a way from newquay and roads are quite hilly my main niggle with this site is at peak times there is not enough showers while we were there there must have been close to 150 + units on site only 3 showers in each of the male and female and if you go at busy times you have quite a wait i feel they need another toilet block or a redesign in the existing one to accomadate at least 2 or 3 more showers either side this really is the only downer on what is otherwise a lovely site

beautiful, comfortable site, with nice laid back atmosphere.pleased to see a dog walk where dogs can be let off the lead.grat facilities, clean everywhere, but not overly manicured to worry about where you step. I do think however that all toilet/washing facilities should be cleaned in the afternoon. mornings are the busiest time, & as most of us are on holiday, a lay in may push the morning back until that 11-12 slot when the site cleaning seems to take place.
this site is not actually in Cardigan Bay seaside town itself, its close & a pretty little seaside that is very adequate. plenty of farmland a walks, but farmers are blocking off dogs access to fields with wire. most of us are responsible dog owners & that's a shame for the majority of us.

The site managers Pete and Sue have to be highly commended for maintaining this exemplary club site. We have not been able to stop ourselves visiting the site since our first time in 2010! Our son and foster children have also fallen in love with the site and the area. You will feel instantly relaxed when you arrive at the site. There are plenty of places to visit and things to do whatever the weather within a short distance from the site. After a day at the beach you can return to your pitch and watch the sun set as you listen to the songbirds. Sounds too good to be true - give it a try!

What an absolute gem! If it's peace and tranquility you are after then this is the place to be. Immaculately maintained, superbly terraced hardstandingm pitch surrounded by beautifully kept areas of grass. Whilst the shower/WC block may be a bit 'olde' it is kept immaculately clean and the showers always had lots of hot water. The reception sells local walking maps for 20p which are great - just watch you don't get chased by cows in neighbouring fields!! Highly recommend this site for complete relaxation and getting away from it all.

I’m sure you all too often receive complaints as its easier to complain than give praise! I would like to amend that!
I had an unfortunate experience that I don’t really want to have to go through again! Anyway, to cut a long story short, we were staying at the Cardigan Bay site having come back from a nice day out in New Quay to find that I was not very well (putting it mildly!) to the point that my wife had to call an Ambulance from the site office, which by the time she had walked back to our caravan and explained what she had done the ambulance arrived! They took one look at me and said I was going to hospital.
All the site staff were extremely supportive and helpful to my wife and daughter whilst I was in hospital (even keeping a eye on our dogs whilst my wife and daughter visited with me in hospital). Some of those task us guys invariably do, my wife was finally introduced too! (moral to this story is even if they don’t do it they should at least know how!).
The site staff were very understanding and patient with us, I ended up being in hospital for two weeks! Obviously I was worried that we would have to move from our pitch as they had various pre-bookings to accommodate, but they managed to reassure my wife that she should stay put and leave it to them to work around us (fortunately we had booked a hard standing). Which meant our one week stay turned into 3. To say these people went over and above the call of duty is an understatement. I can’t thank them enough as this, added to the problems I was dealing with in hospital was not what I needed at that time.
Please pass on my sincere thanks to all the Managers and Staff at Cardigan Bay Site. This just endorses why we only go to Caravan and Camping Sites.
Regards
Keith

Another brilliant weekend! The grass is more like a manicured lawn than a caravan pitch, and all the fences and buildings have been spruced up and looking great for the new season. You can't get a better welcome anywhere and we have been members now for over 20 years and visited many of the ccc sites. This is the best site and we are regular visitors here and have been for some time. It's all down to the present managers who are extremely hard working and who enjoy their jobs. The toilets are spotless and the showers are always hot. The refuse and water areas are well positioned within easy walking distance. Out and about there are lots of good walking paths and much to see. But be warned! If you don't like the sound of bleating sheep, honking geese flying in a V formation or fresh sea air, then this is not the site for you!!! It's a 4 star campsite and should be a 5 star! Superb! Will be back again soon!!

We have just returned from an enjoyable, if somewhat blowy, week at this site.
We arrived a couple of days after the site had opened and were greeted by a friendly and helpful couple, we were given the choice of pitches and ended up with a lovely big grassy pitch with EHU.
The site was well maintained, grass freshly mown, no muddy patches etc. There is a small shop selling basic provisions and you can order a newspaper. There is a small play area with swings and a slide and an area set aside in an adjoining field for ball games.
However, this is the first Camping & Caravanning Club site we have been on and I have to say the toilet / shower facilities are the worst I have come across. Granted they were very clean, but they were very dated and devoid of any heating and little light. They were absolutely freezing. The showers themselves were lovely and warm with good pressure, but the minute you stepped out of them, it was so cold. There is absolutely no way I could have showered our 5 year old daughter in there as she would have been frozen.
To say that camping is supposed to be a family friendly holiday, I have yet to come across a site with child friendly showering facilities. Fixed head, fixed temperature showers are no good for children. In fairness, the site manager did say we could use the disabled facilities to shower her, which had a variable temperature shower, but even so, she would still have been very cold when she came out.
It is a shame really, as if the facilities were a bit more modern or even just heated, we'd have had a far more pleasant stay. As it is, I doubt we will return.
The surrounding area is lovely, with plenty to see and do, even when the weather isn't the best. I would recommend Peapod Pots, were we spent a fun afternoon painting mugs.

Friendly welcome booked two nights, stayed just the one, too busy for me on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Pitched on the overflow field no electric and not level, dog poo and rubbish there too, manager had to come and clean up. Would probably be OK at another time. Noticed not just on this site but on many others. Dogs not on leads which could cause a safety issue to children and other campers as well as other dogs. Drove back up to Bala, Will not return.

Returned last week from a two week stay here and it was wonderful.
The site is well maintained and well looked after. The only down side is that there is only three showers in the ladies loo and there is a queue when it is busy.
From here we went on loads of days out to the steam train from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge, Cliff railway in Aberystwyth, various beaches, Rainforest centre, swimming at Aberaeron, to Cardigan to see the sights and walks round and about.
Another downside is there is no supermarket for miles, although we managed with what we had taken and a trip to Morrisons in Aberystwyth and one to Tesco in Cardigan.
Well worth a visit, would definately recommend and return.

Very peaceful site. Friendly staff and fellow members. Our first time in this part of Wales and it is stunningly beautiful. Red kites soaring over the site, panoramic views, excellent TV reception. Our caravan battery went flat and the warden charged it up for us free of charge while we went off sightseeing for the day, it was in full working order again when we returned. Full marks for their kind help! Lovely coves and harbours, theme parks (if required), a honey farm, wildlife projects, stately homes, are all nearby. We will certainly return again.

not many hard standing, but lots of space. If you want a view, the higher up the better. Good wifi. My only complaint is not the clubs fault. Many of the Public Rights of Way are not sign posted (helps when they don't agree with the OS map!), so overgrown they are impossible to walk, etc. However some are in very good condition, especially the Coastal path, which is not too difficult to get to from the site, but take a large scale map and/or GPS.

The views are stunning, even if you can not quite see the sea from here, it is only a couple of miles away,
The site has a lovely dog walk on it, loads of spaces for non electric pitches (which we always want, to save money and we have no use for mains in our van)
Good mobile signal (i'm getting 5 bars of HSDPA signal on my T-mobile data stick) but site wifi is available, 1 bar right at the very end of the site inside the van.
The village of New Quay is just charming, a couple of little sandy beaches, clear blue green sea, dolphins playing just out from the harbour,
as with all seaside places, fish and chips is expensive, but well worth it as it was very fresh and you got a decent portion.
Parking is mainly pay and display carparks, that charge by the day (~£3) rather than by the hour, about 30 spaces on the road side near the beach are free for an hour, but good luck finding one on a nice day.

A great site and very well laid out. Staff were very helpful and facilities very clean and tidy. Very close to the many activities in New Quay. The only adverse comment we have is, as has been said before, that the brown camping sign pointing to the site (opposite the pub) is the wrong way round as the majority of campers towing come in from the other direction (A487). WHAT IS NEEDED IS A SIGN TO SAY YOU HAVE REACHED THE TURNING TO THE SITE, AT THE SYNOD INN, AFTER A DAY OUT IN CARDIGAN AND FISHGUARD, WE MISSED THE TURNING AT THE SYNOD INN, AS IT ISN'T CLEARLY MARKED COMING FROM THAT DIRECTION, AND THERE ARE NO INDICATORS AT THE ROADSIDE TO SAY ONE IS NEAR THE SYNOD INN. It's in close proximity to New Quay beach; with its array of gift shops and eating places!

We are regular members at this site. Sue and Pete are very welcoming and heldful with a wicked sense of humour! Pete works very hard tending the grounds and structures which has made the site very pretty and comfortable. The views are far reaching and the pitches well spaced. The weather has always been very good; we have always been very lucky. The coastals walks around the area are stunning and we never fail to spot dolphins and seals around the many coves and secluded beaches. Access is available from the campsite and there is a map available in the information centre at the camp site. New Quay is a lovely harbour. The nearest Tesco is about 20 miles but there are some local shops which sell groceries a couple of miles from the site.

We had a friendly welcome and were given a choice of hardstandings. we were away in a corner which suited us fine. the site is kept very clean and tidy, the grass and borders were all well maintained.
The access from the main road is a little narrow but not too bad as long as you dont meet oncoming traffic.
New quay is a couple of miles away and is a lovely little town with a great beach and magnificent views, plus a few great pubs and eateries.
This area and this site are among our favorites and we will return.

Peaceful site, where you can see the Red Kites flying at times. We have been to the site many times, due to the relaxed surroundings, and clean facilities. Every year we have seen the dolphins in New Quay, or the seals from Cwmtydu. It is nice to have a BBQ on Cwmtydu beach, with the sun setting over the sea. Site facilities are older, but well maintained and clean.
