Worse caravan experience so far. We travelled as a group of 2 families with young children-both of which of us took a caravan. On arrival we were told strictly no ball games, disappointing for the kids as really nothing for them to do! The park literally is a small slide and two swings. Nothing nearby to see unless you really are into the country life. The town is dirty looking and comes across as unfriendly, certainly not a place we felt comfortable to dine out with our children. We enjoy life and at 11pm were expected to have lights out and not to speak- not out idea of a weekend break Im afraid, each to their own but we certainly will not return or recommend to others. Good luck to you if you decide to go-not for families as advertised!

We stayed at this site for a week during the monsoon period in June and enjoyed it very much. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Our hook up point suffered from trip out when raining very hard but was soon rectified by staff on several occasions. Will be back again next year.

We have just come back from 6 great days in Wales on a very well run site - where is it you ask?
Well Bala, although only 0.5mile off the A494 this site is in the middle of the country side.
You get a very warm welcome from the two managers ED and Janet Munsson, we arrived early and found the reception closed for lunch however we soon found the management team by their private accommodation, as soon as they saw us they both jumped up and quickly booked us in, we were then soon sited on the pitch of our choice.
The site is well laid out, not one bit of litter, grass cut and toilets and showers are immaculate and the shower very warm, what more do you want?
Bala with it's great lake is only 3 miles away and the coast / Snowdon etc. less than an hours drive.
We can't wait to return.

We camped at Bala for a week in August and found the wardens to be pleasant and friendly. The quiet, well laid out site was immaculately kept and the toilets and showers were clean. The site is level and drained well despite the daily onslaught of rain. The village of Bala is a 10 minute drive away and has all the supplies you need for your holiday. A nice site that we’ll return to.

Having just returned from 10 days at Bala, I just cannot understand some of the negative comments left by others. Perhaps their needs are not the same as ours, but apart from Wales "at its best" i.e. RAIN....., then everything was almost perfect for the area...Quiet and peaceful. The staff were Excellent, with a capital E. I am slightly disabled, but did not push the point, and as soon as staff saw my walking stick we got (unasked for), a pitch near to the amenities block, which were always available, and NOT locked out during cleaning time as other means were available. Two small comments. Not much within walking distance, and the dog exercise area was very small and muddy. Good small town facilities in Bala itself and the lake nearby. White Lion Royal Hotel recommended for food!!! Grass got wet on site and muddy, but hey it was Welsh wet August bank holiday weekend.....Would definately go again, but I thing would go for a hardstanding rather than grass pitch. 9/10 for site. M & B..

This was our first experience of caravaning and the c&c club, what a way to begin! beautiful location(although you do need to drive everywhere)the most helpful and friendly staff, spotlessly clean amenities also everything you could need at hand. One minor fault is that although the site is dog freindly there are no real walks around the area, at least there is an enclosed area where you can thow a ball and let them do what they have to do.Once again our thanks to the managers who made our first outing so enjoyable ,we will definatly return in the near future.

Absolutley fabulous. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Jon and Pat who could not do enough to make us feel at home, welcome and safe. Site facilities are spotless and we enjoyed our stay so much we are returning again a week later (packing as I write this review!). All in all cannot speak highly enough of this site and we will be returning many times in the future.

Just spent four very enjoyable nights at the site. Site staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was spotlessly clean and, given the amount of rain recently, was in very good condition. Pitches all very flat, which is ideal for tents. Good access to a number of local attractions which should appeal to a wide variety of people. Joined the club while we were there.

we stayed at Bala over the Jubilee weekend and enjoyed some typical bank holiday weather. the welcome was very friendly from all of the wardens and that set the tone for the stay. Bala is a great area and the site itself was spotless with a small play area to keep the kids busy. we'll definitely be returning and would recommend the site to anyone.

We normally stay on Certified Sites but have become a little fed up with the variability of the available facilities, so decided to book a Club site instead. What an absolute gem Bala proved to be. Spotless and beautifully maintained facilities and extremely helpful friendly staff. To top it all it cost only £2 more a night than the average we pay at a CS. Will definitely be returning for a longer stay.

The whole campsite and facilities were exceptionally clean and everything you'd need is there - toilets, showers, laundry, dish-washing, small shop.
The managers were extremely friendly and helpful. I was so grateful for their help setting up my folding caravan.
The site is very quiet and there is not much for children there - just a small playground. It is a few miles from the town and lake of Bala.
There had been quite a lot of rain and the grass pitches were sodden, so much so that I think people were unable to pitch and had to move elsewhere. If the weather has been very wet I would suggest checking whether the site is usable before you leave home.
As a dog owner I feel that the dog walk is not very good - it is too small and it was very muddy.
I will definitely go there again soon.

We found this to be a very very quiet site and not much within walking distance, you have to have transport to get anywhere. The amenities close between 11am and 12.30pm and there aren't alternatives on site which if you need a pitstop before leaving site at 12noon can be untimely. Saying that they are clean, but could do with some updating and despite there only being 3 showers each we never had to queue once during the entire week.

JUST GOT BACK THIS AFTERNOON FROM 15 NIGHTS IN BALA (WE WERE DUE TO STAY 14 BUT ADDED AN EXTRA NIGHT). FOR ALL 3 OF US THIS WAS THE BEST SITE WE HAVE EVER STAYED ON. IT WAS QUIET, PEACEFUL, SCENIC AND RURAL. JUST THE WAY WE LIKE IT BALA TOWN ITSELF WAS ONLY 5 MINUTES AWAY AND THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE WITHIN 45 MINUTES TO AN HOURS DRIVE. BALA ITSELF HAS ALL YOU NEED, PETROL STATION, A CO-OP AND A SPAR, TWO EXCELLENT BUTCHERS AND A NUMBER OF HOTELS/INNS. OUR FAVOURITE BEING THE WHITE LION ROYAL. THE STAR OF THE PLACE IS THE LAKE WHERE CATHERINE SAILED AND LEARNED TO WINDSURF. NORTH WALES HAS SOME OF THE LOVELIEST SCENERY GOING. THE WARDENS WERE GREAT, THERE IF YOU NEEDED THEM AND LEFT YOU ALONE IF YOU DID'NT. WE CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK AND WILL BE BOOKING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR NEXT SUMMER. CANNOT RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH.

I was throughly disapointed with this site. I booked it to celebrate with my family and close friends. We werent allowed to camp together and the owners were extremely strict with everything. I would definitely NOT recommend this site for anyone who wants to have any fun and relax. Despite this negative review, the owners were friendly and it was a nice campsite but due to the strict rules, I felt like we couldn't relax and enjoy ourselves. I can imagine this place being perfect for old age pensioners wanting a peaceful getaway. I'm writing this as I don't want anyone else to go here with false expectations, if you're after a sociable, care free and fun camping holiday. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay here (due to a family problem), but will do a review anyway. The welcome was very friendly, although we had to go searching for John & Pat as office was shut when we arrived, not a problem really as the site is relatively small. We were quickly booked in, shown to our pitch & left to get on with our pitching. The site itself is level, only one toilet/shower block which were always clean, the site wi-fi is only any good if you're right by the office, we chose instead to use a mobile internet dongle on the Three network which worked perfectly. If towing make sure you don't miss the turning in to the site once off the main road as the road is very narrow and turning round could be a problem, it'd be hard enough to turn round when not towing. The town of Bala looks nice a few pubs and takeaways along with a Co-op and a Londis supermarket. Unfortunately we weren't there long enough to sample the local hospitality. We hope to return very soon to finish our holiday.

We had a great time staying at this campsite, so much so that we decided to stay longer. I was aprehensive about what we were to expect after reading some negative reviews but glad to say that we need not have worried. There was a little bit of noise from the sheep in the neighbouring field at times but it didn't bother us, we were in the camping in the country after all! The staff were really nice and not like some of the 'jobs worths' we have come across at other clubsites in the past. It is a small peaceful site and our 7 year old son had a great time playing with the other children on site. The facilites are spotless and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

This is one of the best sites we have stayed on, being our third visit in 2 years. The staff were very friendly on arrival and stayed with us until we were in position. Facilities were clean and ample. There was a good mixture of tents and caravans as the site is very level. The nearby town of Bala is just a few minutes away as is the Lake Bala. Site is ideally situated for exploring this part of Wales, lots of interesting attractions to keep kids and adults happy. We hope to return soon.

We had a rally enjoyable short break at Bala Site. The facilities were very good and the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. The site is in a good location, providing an excellent base for many destinations. The staff have lots of information on local attractions and activities. The town of Bala is 3-miles away and has a modest but adequate range of services. Suprisingly all of our three mobile telephone networks worked here, O2,Vodaphone and Virgin which isn't generally the case in most of north wales. I would recommend the site and hope to return again. Chose this site after reading it's official write up in the book, had just stayed on a very basic field CS, and wanted a little 'luxuary' for a night.
The picture painted of being able to camp next to the brook that runs through the site sold it to us.
We have a fully self contained motorhome, with a large solar panel array on the roof, so we have no need for electric hookup, and a grass pitch is what we prefer, our motorhome has dual rear wheels and rear wheel drive, do is pretty sure footed on grass.
So we were a little dissapointed to be told we had to go on a hard standing pitch, which of course incurs the extra fee, so instead of paying tripple what we usually pay at CS's, we paid almost 4 times as much, and had the use of an electric hook up that we couldent do much with.
We were pitched close to the brook, but the brook it's self runs along the edge of the site, not through the site, and is fenced off with 'out of bounds' signs along the fence.
No idea what the toilet block was like, as again our van is fully self contained, so we dont have a use for them, and i couldent help thinking that his site being as small as it is, would feel much better value for money if it didnt have the toilet block, and hence was priced at around £4 a person a night.
The dog walk was about the worst i've ever seen, sure it was clean of mess, but it was just a small fenced in area about 50 feet by 30 feet,
i'm used to dog walks that you can give the dog a half decent walk along.
On the plus side, the wardens were about the nicest we have ever met,
extremely helpfull, kind and proffesional,
my dog sneaked out and took her self for a wander about 100 feet from our van, the warden brought her back and pleasently asked us to put her on a lead, it was nice not to be made to feel like a criminal for not noticing she'd sneaked out, and hence she wasnt on a lead,

We stayed at this site after an awful experience on a private site.We just turned up explaining the situation and expecting to be turned away (it was peak season and we had a large tent). However, the owners couldn't have been more helpful, suggesting we go back to the private site to pack up and by that by the time we'd arrive back at Bala, they would have found us a pitch, which is exactly what they did. This site was a haven, peaceful, tranquil and only a few minutes drive from Bala. Everyone adhered to the quiet rule at night: at about 2230 the site was silent, except for the sound of the stream. As another member commented, it is not ideal for dogs but there is a public footpath up the lane (after about 20 minutes).
