"Camping on the banks of the River Thet"
A secluded campsite, tucked away in Thetford Forest Park on the south bank of the River Thet, Thorpe is excellent for exploring the Norfolk Broads. Here you can experience the distinctive landscape of forest and heath and the history and wildlife of the Brecks. Nearby attractions include the Forestry Commission’s High Lodge Forest centre and GoApe! There are plenty of footpaths and cycle ways which crisscross the forest for campers to explore. For those who are after a relaxing break there is fishing or nature watching, as the forest offers a range of wildlife including many bird species and wild deer.
See a live birdbox feed on the campsite, complete with nesting bird.

What a fantastic site and wonderful staff, if the staff are busy the seasonals will always help I don't really want to tell anyone else about this site as it is the best one I have ever stayed on and will keep coming back. the tranquility is amazing the wildlife in abundance the friendliness and children doing what children do what a unique spot to go for walks fishing etc

We have stayed at this site three times this year and have found the staff to be very helpful indeed, they go out of their way to assist with any problem and if they can't help they know a man that can. There is no toilets or shower's on site but they do provide a port a loo if required, as for showering you are as clean as you wish to be and we were able to wash down from top to toe each day in our own space. There is a small shop not loads in but usually you would do a big shop before you go and anything forgotten they will help if they can. The site is spacious and children are very safe and enjoy playing around the site. There are some lovely walks all around the site with rivers and lots of wildlife. The nearest supermarket is about 5miles away so very convenient. Banham zoo is also close by and great. All in all a very nice site and very friendly people.

Absolutely beautiful location. Recommended for your 'quieter' moments. Stayed in the forest and saw loads of wildlife. No facilities at all, and where we were no electric so make sure the battery is fully charged! Peace and tranquility the buzz words here, and everyone so friendly and chatty. Definately going again.
SUITABLE FOR: Older couples,Peaceful break,Younger couples
The brochure says friendly staff, still waiting to find them!!!! Basic site. Seemed very clicky, staff seemed OK if you were a seasonal pitch but didnt really have time for anyone else, not on my list of places to go again
Open field or woodland pitches, electrical hook up and good dog walking, little cabin which has some basic items, no toilet facilities on site so more suited to caravans/motorhomes. Ideal for quiet weekend.
