What's on?

• Watergate Bay is three-quarters of a mile from Site. It has a vast expanse of sand and is perfect for families.
• The Extreme Academy in Watergate Bay is just one of many places to try surfing, kite-surfing and other watersports.
• The surfing town of Newquay is five miles from Site. Its other attractions include the Trenance Gardens and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway.
• Newquay Zoo’s inhabitants range from the smallest monkey and pygmy marmoset to African lions.
• Dophins and seals are often seen in Newquay Harbour. Fishing trips, scuba diving and powerboat rides are all available.
• Trerice is an Elizabethan manor house managed by the National Trust. It has a museum dedicated to the history of the lawnmower.
• Bluereef Aquarium has won awards for its rescue work with sea turtles. It also breeds sharks and seahorses.
• Crealy Adventure Park makes a good family day out.
• Follow King Arthur’s Cornwall Discovery Trail to find out more about the legends.
• There are 14 beautiful beaches within six miles of Site.
• Day trips to the Isles of Scilly leave from Newquay airport. Investigate the Garrison and the Elizabethan Fort on St Mary’s.
• The South West Coast Path passes near the Site. It has glorious wild flowers and fantastic views.
