What's on?
- Kielder Organic Meats is next to the Site. The Site shop sells lamb, beef and pork from the 800-acre, family farm. The Riverdale Hall Hotel serves meals made from locally-sourced
produce, including Kielder venison and wild-caught salmon.
- Practical Caravan Park of the Year - Regional Winner. Find out more.
Bellingham is a traditional
Northumberland village with a Heritage
Centre and a good selection of small
shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
- Hareshaw Linn is a spectacular 30-foot
waterfall within walking distance of Site.
- Kielder Water and Forest Park covers
650km2 and is excellent for canoeing,
sailing, walking, cycling, mountain biking
and horse riding.
- Kielder Castle is a former hunting lodge of
the Duke of Northumberland. It has a
children’s adventure playground, Minotaur
maze and salmon hatchery nearby.
- The River North Tyne is famous for its salmon fishing. Canoes can be launched just a ten-minute walk from site.
- Leaplish Waterside Park has a swimming pool, play garden and bird of prey centre.
- Hadrian’s Wall, its museums and visitor centres are accessible by bus – the bus
route goes the length of the wall.
- The Pennine Way passes the
Club Site and the Pennine Cycleway is close by.
- Black Middens Bastle House is a substantial 16th century fortified house.
- Cragside (National Trust) was the first house lit by hydroelectricity. It has a
large rock garden and wonderful woodland estate.
- The medieval Alnwick Castle starred in the recent Harry Potter films. It is next to the
contemporary Alnwick Garden.
- The mansion at Wallington (National Trust) has amazing interiors and a red squirrel
walk.
- Hexham is a market town with England’s
first jail and an Abbey dating back to 674.
- Newcastle is accessible by public
transport, including a Park and Ride.
- The Angel of the North marks the
entrance to Gateshead and one of
Europe’s largest shopping centres.
