Our Club Site at Thetford Forest is surrounded by natural history. Adjacent to the Site, the forest is home to rare butterflies and plants, and you may spot red, roe or muntjac deer.

What's on?
- Thetford Forest is Britain’s largest lowland
forest.
- The local area is known as The Brecks,
one of the driest parts of Britain, with its
own distinctive landscape, wildlife and
history.
- Peddars Way National Trail passes near
the Site. The walk follows a Roman Road
from Suffolk to the Norfolk coast.
- Thetford Priory was founded in the early
12th century. The ruins include much of
the 14th century gatehouse.
- High Lodge in Brandon hosts open air
concerts in the summer and has cycling
routes and sculpture trails. Also here is
Go Ape! – a high-wire adventure course
of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip
slides.
- Puddledock Farm has a large pond, which
is available to campers.
- Newmarket is the home of British Horse
Racing. It has two racecourses and
regularly hosts racing meets and events.
- Banham Zoo is home to some of the
world’s most exotic, rare and endangered
animals. See tigers, cheetahs, meerkats
and wolves here.
- Bewilderwood is a curious treehouse
adventure with peaceful paths, zip
wires, jungle bridges and organic food.
- The Great Eastern Pingo Trail is an
eight-mile walk linking pingos – circular
ponds created by glaciation during the
last Ice Age.
- Norwich is England’s best preserved
medieval city. It has two cathedrals, a
Norman castle, and an Art Deco City Hall.

the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium
Library.
