What's on?
- Priddy village is half a mile from Site.
There are a couple of pubs serving food
and an annual Sheep Fair in August.
- The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company is
the only cheese-making factory actually
in Cheddar.
- Cheddar Gorge is a spectacular limestone
gorge. It has several walks around it,
some of which are very challenging.
- Choose from 17 different activities at the
Avon Ski and Action Centre, including
skiing, snowboarding, quad biking,
abseiling, power-kiting and clay-pigeon
shooting.
- The SS Great Britain and the many
museums of Bristol are within easy reach.
- The sandy beaches at Burnham on Sea,
Brean and Weston-super-Mare are less
than an hour’s drive away.
- Longleat Safari Park is only 40 mins away.
- Cheddar Gorge is a spectacular limestone
gorge. It has several walks around it,
some of which are very challenging.
- Many local caves are open to the public.
The most famous is Wookey Hole which
is part of a collection of attractions,
including a paper mill and Dinosaur Valley.
- Visit the Georgian city of Bath with its
Roman Baths and Pump Rooms.
- The city of Wells has a 12th century
cathedral and Vicar’s Close.
- Weston-super-Mare is home to the
world’s largest helicopter museum.
