Haltwhistle Club Site is in a clearing of Bellister Wood, once the property of Bellister Castle Estate and now managed by the National Trust. You are likely to share your pitch with a large variety of birds, including woodpeckers.

What's on?
- Haltwhistle town is full of history.
Examples include the 12th century church,
a peletower – now a hotel –
and five other Bastle Houses (defensible
houses) from its Border Reliving past.
- The Haltwhistle Rings is a series of 22
walks taking in the best the local
countryside has to offer.
- Hadrian’s Wall is only four miles from Site.
A bus travels the length of the wall (73
miles) in the summer.
- Housesteads Roman Fort is the most
complete Roman Fort in Britain and has
amazing views.
- The Roman Army Museum and
Vindolanda both give facinating insights
into the lives of the Romans who once
dominated the area.
- The South Tyne Trail is part of the National Cycle Network, half a mile from Site.
- Featherstone Castle is withing walking
distance. It has been added to since
medieval times and was a PoW camp.
- A World in Miniature Museum is at
Houghton Hall Garden Centre and includes
the world’s smallest teddy bear.
- Cragside, a National Trust property, was
the first house in the world to be lit by
hydroelectricity.
- The MetroCentre in Gateshead is the
largest shopping and leisure centre in
Europe, easily reached by car or train from
Haltwhistle.
- Fishing is possible in the River Tyne from
the Site, for those with a rod licence.
