Local tourist information

  • Priddy village is half a mile from site. There are a couple of pubs serving food and an annual Sheep Fair in August.
  • The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company is the only cheese-making factory actually in Cheddar.
  • Cheddar Gorge is a spectacular limestone gorge. It has several walks around it, some of which are very challenging.
  • Choose from 17 different activities at the Avon Ski and Action Centre, including skiing, snowboarding, quad biking, abseiling, power-kiting and clay-pigeon shooting.
  • The SS Great Britain and the many museums of Bristol are within easy reach.
  • The sandy beaches at Burnham on Sea, Brean and Weston-super-Mare are less than an hour’s drive away.
  • Longleat Safari Park is only 40 mins away.
