Discover more about the Sandringham
Estate at the Visitor Centre. There are more
than 60 acres of ground, 600 acres of
woodland and heath and a museum of royal
memorabilia. The estate also hosts events
during the year.
Sandringham House is open to visitors. You can buy timber from its saw mill.
Explore maritime history at True’s Yard – the two restored cottages recreate 19th century fishing life.
Great Bircham is home to the Bircham
Windmill and a lovely 14th century church.
Houghton Hall is a fine Palladian mansion
set in beautiful parkland.
Norfolk Lavender is at Heacham. Visit the
lavender fields and find out about
harvesting, distilling and growing your own.
Hunstanton is a traditional family, seaside
resort. It has a selection of attractions, sandy beaches, gardens and striped cliffs.
There are a number of cycle routes in the area, including one from right outside the
Site entrance to King’s Lynn.
Castle Rising is one of the UK’s most
important 12th century castles.
The Holkham Estate includes the Hall with its Bygones Museum and the Beach, one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country.
Eat Local
The shop next to the Site sells local honey with the Sandringham Visitor Centre selling produce from the Royal Estate, including apple juice, pies and preserves. Knights Hill Farm Shop sells locally produced meat, vegetables and fruit.
Worth Noting
Well stocked food shop on site boundary. Plenty of space and miles of woodland to explore.
