Castlerigg stone circle is located near the town of Keswick and is thought to be one of the best megalithic monuments in Northern England.

Positioned at the centre of a natural amphitheatre it allows for wonderful views of the nearby peaks including Skiddaw and Grasmoor.

It was one of the first stone circles to be built in the UK around 3200 BC and is associated with many folktales.
