This native Welsh castle is located on the popular seaside resort of Criccieth on the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd.

Started by ‘Llewellyn the Great’ in 1231, the castle is now a ruin but was once an imposing fort that overshadowed the town.

The castle is worth visiting for the fascinating history and spectacular views across Tremadog Bay.
