Visiting Amerton Farm

Railway

Amerton Railway is a 2 foot gauge line set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Staffordshire at Amerton Farm. It is home to a 115 year old W.G. Bagnall Saddle tank called Isabel, so important to Stafford that she was placed on a plinth outside of Stafford Railway Station until she was restored.

Come and visit the railway and ride behind this historic engine and others on the scenic 1 mile line.

Farm Animals

Visit our farm animals including Dexter cows, pigs and ponies. Chickens and ducks run freely in the traditional farmyard environment which children love.  Children are free to feed and pet the animals in the farmyard. Animal food is available from the Farm Shop.

Windmill Farm has an indoor and outdoor adventure play area.

The Playbarn is great value for money, as visitors can pay to go in at 9.30am and stay all day!! Even the selection of food on the children and adult menus are of a very good standard and at a cost effective price (see menus below).

In good weather there is an outside area where you will find a LARGE bouncy pillow, sandpit, football field and seating with beautiful views of the countryside!!! Inside, you will discover a floor to ceiling slide, tractor track, climbing wall, rope bridge and barns on stilts connected with raised walkways. A soft play area is provided for the younger children and a bouncy castle.

In the Farm Shop we have a wide range of fine jams, preserves and pickles.  There is a vast range of local cheeses, including specialist cheeses from around the country. On sale there is also traditional farm shop produce such as local meat, butter, cream and eggs.

Amerton Bakery is a family run bakery and retail outlet which was established over twenty years ago. Using traditional recipes we offer a huge range of varying products including bread, cakes, fruit pies, pasties, quiches, savoury pies and bakes. All our goods are handmade daily to the highest standards using locally sourced, fresh produce where available.

Brooklands Poultry
This shop has opened up on site and offers a range of products for the rearing of poultry and pet supplies.  They have also incubators in use along with chicks!

Blacksmith
There is now a Blacksmith in the farmyard, where visitors can watch him working at his forge. He has also got homemade gifts for sale.

Eating

Our impressive Tea Room is particularly welcoming with traditional furnishings, warming fires and excellent fayre. Licensed to sell alcohol with meals.  Everyone is welcome to enjoy a farmhouse roast, our famous steak and kidney pie or their own choice of light snacks, meals and cream teas.

As you can see from the above a lot is happening at Amerton Farm. We do like to think that we offer variety of attractions for our visitors to see and enjoy.
