Running beside the longest straight stretch of water outside the Lake District, Rudyard Lake Railway will take you back to the golden age of steam. Take a ride on narrow gauge 2-4-2 type tank engines (No.6) Merlin and (No.7) Excalibur, sister engines 2-4-2t type (No.9) Pendragon and Victoria, and a new much larger 0-6-2T type (No.8) King Arthur. Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the lake that was named the 3rd most romantic spot in the UK.
Rudyard Lake Railway can even offer you the chance to drive a steam engine. With one to one tuition you too can be an Engine Driver for a day…
