Sports & Outdoors

Via Ferrata`s were routes across the Alps, using a series of metal cables, rungs, ladders and bridges to ascend and descend tremendous and precipitous climbing routes and paths. These Via Ferrata tracks provided the most spectacular and dramatic viewpoints of Europe’s fabulous Mountain scenery.

The first in the UK, Honister Via Ferrata offers you a choice between the Classic Route, which follows the original Miners route to the top of the Mountain, and the Xtreme which takes you all over the mountain, negotiating vertical climbs, cliff edge ladders and even Sky walking, 1000 feet off the valley floor, with nothing between you but a single cable! You can even combine this with a tour of Honister Slate Mine.

Winner of ‘Best Tourism Experience in The Lake District 2011’ by Cumbria Tourism, and suitable for people without climbing experience, this is an experience that you will never forget.
